Kate Beckinsale would more than likely make an awesome Catwoman actually.
Agreed. But Angelina Jolie was born for that part. A few years ago i'd have said Jennifer Connoly.
Kate Beckinsale would make a great though. She looks like Talia stepped out of the comics!
would fit Nolan's more realistic take on the Batman family. As would (Zhang Ziyi, anyone?).
I really don't know who else they could use in this series other than Riddler or Penguin (And even Penguin's pushing it). Man-Bat, Killer Croc and Clayface are pretty much out, because they are so sci-fi and/or cartoony. It'd be stupid to use Poison Ivy.

Please no Catwoman. That character just does not translate to the movies. Always looks ridiculous.

Well, there has never been a serious attempt to do Catwoman. Burton's catwoman couldn't have been any farther from the Selina Kyle of the comics if it was on the moon! Why do female superheroes always get re-imagined as mousy librarian types when they get on the big screen, in 70 years of comics Catwoman has never been mousy. Catwoman is a Cat-Burglar, that's it. She's never been evil, just totally amoral. If they would make an attempt to do that rather than some hot chick's best Julie Newmar impersonation, it could work. Hell, they finally got the Joker right after decades of cartoons, movies, and silly spoof TV shows.
And that monstrosity that Halle Berry made isn't worth mention (But that wasn't friggin Catwoman, for starters Halle had friggin superpowers, secondly she wasn't Selina Kyle and wasn't in Gotham City... that was NOT Catwoman).

Penguin could work, in a supporting role, as the sophisticated, non-insane version that has been used of late (just limit the umbrella gimmicks to a knife or gun). I believe both he and the Riddler have apparently given up supervilliany for the time being, even helping Batman out on occasion. Given Nolan's track record, I think he could make even some of the zanier villians work. I'd like to see him tackle Mr. Freeze, just to make up for what Schumacher did to him. Watch the animated episode "Heart of Ice" to see how great Freeze could be.
The Ventriloquist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ventriloquist_%28comics%29), though, really would be pushing it!
I imagine the original plan was to use the Joker again (perhaps with Harley Quinn along), although they would likely be extremely reluctant to re-cast the role.
Let us all give thanks, though, for if Schumacher had not been stopped, we'd be seeing Egghead and King Tut (played by Newman from Seinfeld).

There's an option in australia to book things called 'Gold Class'. they serve food and only have thirty seats and charge $30 a seat. Nobody fucking talks in those movies because of the price. You never get children or teenagers. Plus - they serve alcohol.

I'd like to see Bane to make up for what Schumacher did to HIM! The guy's supposed to be like an evil version of Doc Savage, incredibly intelligent, Physically perfect, and expert in several fields. Schumacher didn't even give the guy any lines beyond "ARRRRRRRGH!" Considering he's the only one that ever straight up defeated Batman head on, that could be amazingly cool if done right.

Aww, that's a hierarchy system though so you have the fancy people sitting next to the people who pay regular price... in PDX we have lots of brewpub theaters that show 2nd run movies for $3! They also serve food like pizza. They are 21+, and since the movies have been out for a while they tend to be not too crowded. :D

Nonono.. same theatre not cinema or whatever... like... you can pay $30 and get into the room with 30 people all Gold Class or $12 for the room with 200 people all paying $12... but they're both at the same actual theatre.. they just have the option. You usually have to book a week in advance for Gold Class though.. because the seats fill up quick.
I saw Sex and the City and drank like 3 cosmos during the movie while reclining in a soft velour sofa with a cheese platter... be jealous }:D

The Muvico in Boca Raton has this..the Premiere seats are upstairs...the reg seats are downstairs. They have a restaurant there you can have dinner in and you can sit in comfy seats with a glass of wine while you watch. Havent done it in a long time though. You also get free valet parking with a Premiere ticket.

Is that for the same viewing? 'cause what I mean and am saying poorly is that you get the entire movie to you and those thirty people... another movie, like 5 doors down, might be playing at the cinema. Like, no special cinema uses Gold Class.. they almost all do.. but they're their own special room and area of the theatre... they even have red carpets and lounge rooms and bars in the seperate foyer just to make you feel more stuck up.
But yeah... lovelovelovelove it. Nobody ever talks in a Gold Class movie.

Nah, that was Goyer. He's the same guy that stated they would never use Two Face because he was too "comic-booky." Nolan DID say that about Penguin, but he was saying it more to dispel the (then) persistent rumors that Phillip Seymour Hoffman would be playing the character in the second film. He also said that about Robin, but never Catwoman. A Google search doesn't bring up anything he's said about Catwoman one way or another, but she's so integral to Batman's story that it's be a shame to leave her out. And this team is just the team to pull her off, they just need the right actress (and picking actors for characters is one thing the Nolan brothers have shown exceptional skill at if Batman Begins and Dark Knight are any indication, with the exception of Katie Holmes).
Thinking about it, i kind of like for the role.

Saw it last night, it was very long. I hung in for the first two hours, but my attention waned after that. But I'm the first to admit that I don't watch many action/superhero type movies and they aren't really my genre. But I do like the Batman Begins and Dark Knight direction with their dark vision and creepy characters. Even the heroes creep me out in these movies. As for the new Joker, I guess I might need to see it again to really understand the accolades being lavished on Heath Ledger's performance.
Overall, the new Batman movies are just entirely different and IMO not comparable to the Michael Keaton/Jack Nicholson characters. Jack will always be the Joker to me, larger-than-life and cartoon-like. His was a happily in-control villain, rather than the almost sympathetic sicko played by Ledger. And the reason I love Michael Keaton as Batman is because his Bruce Wayne just doesn't seem like the kind of guy who could be a hero. That contrast did it for me. And I have to say I will always love the Prince soundtrack.

Agreed about that. Keaton said that, while trying to separate the essentially two characters he was playing, he settled on making Bruce Wayne kind of "lost" (his word) outside the suit. It's not, and never was, the Bruce Wayne of the comics but it fit really well.
Props to Keaton, but Heath's Joker makes Jack's look like a pussy. lol

This movie was rated a 9.5 currently on imdb.com, making it the number 1 movie of all time. Sorry but that's a little over-rated even though I'd put it in the top 30 of all time maybe, for action. IT WAS AWESOME!!! Heath Ledger kicked ass and should get an Oscar for sure, but the best movie of all time?? Nah
Also, I vote Michael Keaton for best Batman... sorry.

It was great.
We saw the late show on an IMAX theatre. We figured that'd weed some of the movie ass tard goers from showing up. Esp. since it's out in the middle of nowhere. There were 2 talkers....and they sat next to us! grrrrrrrrrr
ON TOP OF THAT! The theatre cut the credits. I fully intend to call and complain. It's absolutely disrespectful to cut credits like that. Some people WANT to see them. No, I don't expect some extra 15 minutes of film "hidden" at the end. I want to see the credits. Plain. and. simple.
I remember a time when I was younger that it was COMPLETELY disrespectful to stand and LEAVE the movie until the credits were over.
But the movie...FANTASTIC. My eyes hurt though...like I said it was IMAX, and my first. And my eyes are Tired from looking at the huge screen!

That was Michelle Pheipher doing her best impersonation. Julie Nuwmar's Catwoman might be the Catwoman for a lot of people, but that is also the ONLY time she has ever been a straight up villain ever. I love Pheipher, she's great. She was hot as hell. The character she was given in the script to play was NOT Catwoman. Catwoman is a opportunistic thief, an antagonist, a heroine and an anti-heroine, what they need to really capture her character is a script that has Catwoman as all of that! A Villain, then an antagonist, then an anti-heroine, then a heroine. THEN... IF they have shown her amoral enough through it all... THEN... Maybe they will hit the Catwoman of the comics. THEY HIT THE JOKER, LADIES. They finally managed to do the Joker from the comics. He's ten times harder than Catwoman. She's in many ways the female criminal Batman.
MY Catwoman might save your kid from the speeding train, but she'll be pissy at being hassled by it and she'll SURE steal your watch giving the kid back, THEN she just might grab your ass by the hair and tell you "watch your fucking kid!"
And she'll be HOT and black haired. My Catwoman at least.

I saw it last night. It was a great movie! Action movies aren't typically my thing, but I enjoyed the social commentary and messages.
Ledger as the Joker was fucking amazing. He took a character that is campy, comic-bookish, and outrageous and made him real. He made him believable. I loved how when he told the stories his eyes were scanning around, especially to the left.
Explains which directions people tend to look when visualizing vs. remembering:
Scars story #1:
His body language is great!! His mannerisms are subtle but great. I feel like Heath was able to morph himself into a delusional, sadistic, manipulative liar. So yeah, A+ there.
The movie brought up so many issues too. With the social experiment, which lives are worth more? Who judges what is good or what is bad, or is it what we are trained to feel ("inject a little anarchy")? All of the main characters made you wonder what it means to be good or bad. The movie left me confused, but in a good way.

Some things were a bit too unbelievable for me though, which was distracting. Like how Two Face aka Dent had half of his face burned off and charred while he went running around kicking back shots and shooting people in the face, as if his body wouldn't have been going into shock or anything. Or like how Bale and Gyllenhaal fell how many stories? And landed on a truck and walked away completely unscathed. But that's action movies for you, so it was ok. ;D
And yet you could suspend disbelief to accept the billionaire dressing up in a bat costume, or a psycho in makeup taking over the Mob? :P

What you said about his ability to morph and play the character is so true. Some people (professionals and friends of his) thought that he was too into the character and that his role as the joker drove him to believe he really was the joker and that he needed to die. IDK how much of that is true, but I know if I acted like that I wouldn't be able to come home and be normal. I would have psyched myself into thinking I was evil and needed to off myself before I hurt anyone else.

Nah..I'm of the opinion that it was an accidental overdose. I have prescriptions for everything he took..if he wasnt used to it and wasnt careful...it would have been easy to take an Ambien and be in that "sleepwalking" stage you sometimes get into with it and forget that you took it and take more and more.
The people who knew him said that there was no way in HELL he would have left his daughter...plus he was in the middle of another film(they recast it and finished it..I guess his character has multiple personalities or something...he just turns into someone else somehow..)and they said above all he was a total professional and would NEVER have jumped ship in the middle of a project.

Okay I saw it again in IMAX this weekend and I have one main question about a plot hole:
At the end of the movie, Batman says he'll take the blame for Two Face's 5 murders. My question is 'who were the 5 murders?' There's
-the crooked cop @ the bar
-the bartender
-the driver
-maybe Maroni?
But that leaves 1 or 2 people. I don't think the tally involves Rachel & Dent b/c Rachel got blowed up a ways before that, and Dent had already been hospitalized.
Aaaaah someone help!
