View Full Version : What cigs do you smoke?

I'm aware. I was a drug addict. And nobody could make me quit but me.. which is why I think lecturing is pointless UNLESS you're hurting someone else. And the OP doesn't hurt me by smoking and I know her, she's more than considerate enough to not do it in my face.. so what kills her isn't my problem or anyone elses'.

When I used to smoke long ago, I tried cloves (Djarum) and I liked the sweet taste they left on my lips.
I also like the smell of pipe tobacco. Hate the smell of cigars.
I also smoked some of the best pot ever, LOL.
I quit smoking everything 8 years ago, and to smoke anything now would make me hurl. :yuck: Except maybe a hit of some celebratory killer chronic on a very very rare special occasion.

I smoke occasionally. When I was a youngster in highschool, I would sneak Djarum Blacks. Then I would just bum random cigarettes from friends. I tried Marlboro Mediums recently... they made me very dizzy and calm. I may actually have to buy a pack for more research....

I used to smoke parlaments, but now I roll my own. I've got a crank machine, and tubes and light tobacco - so 2 cartons of cigarettes costs me about $16!! And a really cute cigarette case. :)

This guy I used to date would roll his own cigs mixing tobacco and pot together.

If I could show you my mom (40 year smoker) laid out in bed with an oxygen tube in her nose, hanging on to life

I bet you'd be ready to quit.
Not to be a downer, but smoking sucks ass.
While I am sorry for your Mom, that type of attitude, doesn't make me want to quit smoking; it makes me want to smoke more.

Well then, I guess nothing stops you from giving your opinion on every thread that's posted, so I should have the same right. When you post a thread like this, you know very well that not everyone is going to say, "Oh yay! Smoking is so awesome, like wow!"
If people want to get real about it, they'd listen to the warnings. The irony is that there are sooo many superficial women on this site who don't think twice about smoking, drinking, and tanning. They just don't seem to be able to put 2 and 2 together to figure out that those are the very things that will wrinkle them and age them way before their time. And that's not to mention the multitude of health problems caused by these very things.
But yes, I realize you can't tell people anything. But maybe, just once, someone will listen to reason and make an intelligent choice for once. I doubt it, but it is possible.
Yes, we CAN "put 2 and 2 togther", we aren't idiots.
Face it Andy, death is the one debt all men must pay. If you don't die from one thing, it WILL be from another.
Personally, I would rather go out with my boots on actually living life, not hiding from it.

Haha yeah I used to work there like five years ago, when I was on one of my fuck Velvet jaunts.
Bring blAmy. We can smoke up a vanilla infused storm.
PS I'm smoking Strawberry Dj Mix's and it tastes like I'm smoking a lipgloss. I kinda like it.
Some of the flavors you guys have sound yummy, lol!
I did smoke Marlboro light 100's, then went to Camel Turkish Gold 100's (which they DQ'd), now it's back to Marlboro Reds 100's. Hubby smokes Camel menthols.

right now im smoking camel wide lights, because there was a deal. i alternate between marlboro reds and camel lights. and like kitana said, we all die anyway...i always tell people that when they tell me i need to quit.
and people who think they're trying to be helpful and tell me i should quit, gets me all stressed and worked up, and then i need another cig! ::)

I used to smoke Camel lights and Djarums. I smoked Silk Cuts for a while when the local tobacco store had them cheap, but then someone told me they taste like bacon and it freaked me out. ;D I stopped when it got too expensive and they made everyone go outside. I like smoking and driving though. Every once in a while.

Another clove-smoker here (Djarum Specials) but mostly just in the club. It's become force of habit when it's super slow and my friend and I are sitting at the bar.
And I swear every night I smoke them someone has to tell me how much worse for me cloves are than regular cigarettes. It's like they're trying to convince me to switch to regular cigs, even though those are way more addicting than cloves! I can't stand the taste of regular cigarettes and I'm just not interested in smoking them. I smoke cloves for fun and the yummy taste.
But seriously--are cloves really that much worse for you?

Interesting that you think being a non-smoker is hiding from life. I think it's quite the opposite. Of course we all die, but I want to live my life to the fullest while feeling great for as long as possible. Suffocating to death sounds about as miserable a way to go as any I can think of. And there's that lovely smoker cough that just gets worse and worse with every passing day.
All vanities aside, smoking just has too many painful side effects for me. Unfortunately, I'll probably get saddled with lung cancer or some other smoking disease just from working in bars all of these years. That seems to be the way it goes a lot of the time.
Hey, smoke 'em if you've got 'em, just keep it out of bars, restaurants, and anywhere else that people have to work and breathe. Oh, and make sure you don't litter your butts everywhere. I'm sure no one here ever does that!

from what i've heard they're worse because the have fiberglass in them? but apparently so do light cigs too? not really sure (just what i've been told), but either way it's bad, i'm not going to be one of those smokers who pretends that if i smoke a particular brand it's better for you.

I bet you see car wrecks all the time, do you still drive?
I don't mean to offend you, but that's a stupid analogy.
Smoking is a totally unecessary activity. Driving or being in a driven vehicle is almost unavoidable
Smoking will almost guarantee you a relatively young, painful, slow death. Most people who drive will not die from a car wreck.
Smoking will cause you to age more quickly that you should, and make it hard for you to keep healthy. Driving will not.
And actually, I have never seen someone die in a car wreck, but I've witnessed three close relatives die a slow, painful death from smoking, and one more has a foot in the grave.
I'm sorry that you take my post and it makes you want to smoke more. I really do, because I see you in 40 years where my mom is right now....staring death in the face at 64, and unable to walk 20 feet without gasping for air and nearly passing out, having to go to the hospital every 6 weeks and have a tube jammed down her throat while she gags on it, her blood pressure dropping while her heart rate shoots up.
I'm sorry, I fucking HATE smoking.

I smoke Capri menthol 120s, they're very lite and also girly and adorable ....they're about 1/4 as thick as normal cigarettes and twice as long haha!
As for the smoking controversy, I really don't see why any one cares. What I do in the privacy of my own home/car really isn't affecting anyone else, is it? I don't have kids or anything.
Beyond that, I love how tabbaco is vilified so much more than booze. I mean, I don't think anybody ever smoked one too many cigarettes and caused and then drove their car into a school bus because of it, like with, oh I don't know, beer?

I lived with two smoking parents too and a non-exisent venilation system. I was, as kid, for weeks in a hospital with bronchitis from second hand smoke, lost tonsils due to it, had numerous bad ear aches, etc. Never smoked myself. And I respond badly to smoke. But I've been playing wind music instruments now for most of my life successfully, I hear very well, and I rarely get chest colds. Never heard anything about lung scarring.
People get caught up in smoking because of peer pressure of some sort and then it becomes a bad addiction. Nothin do with a lack of knowledge of the effects; they just think it won't happen to them. Too late by then to just easily stop.

I LOVE cigarettes
I really really do
Marlboro lights are my favorite
I quit last june 11th, the day i found out Layla was swimming in my tummy and I've missed them every day since.
Its getting harder and harder to stay a quitter
every time i see someone smoking in their car i get SO jealous
i think about buying them every time i am in a store that sells them
i bum one from anyone i know who smokes
I promised my husband i wouldn't start again but i really want to
I'm not being a hater in your thread I respect your decision to smoke i just wish i could too

Ok....I smoke and I have NO issue with peoples rights to choose...if you dont smoke, good for you, seriously. But if you do smoke, I think you should be able to smoke wherever you damn well please! They have "smoking sections" in restaraunts for a reason and as for BARS...COME ON! Its a fucking BAR! Whats next? No drinking? I mean hell, its bad for you too!
No offense to YOU personally Andy, I am just really sick of people trying to impose THEIR specific beliefs on US. Most people do something that isnt "good" for them...even something as simple as fake baking causes cancer! Where as I KNOW that isnt a good analogy, it DOES hold true! As long as smoking is still LEGAL, and it is, i dont think non-smokers should be able to dictate where and when we smoke.

Kitana, where did I personally call you an idiot or a moron in my post? Oh that's right, nowhere., so obviously I have no idea where you got that I disrespected you. I just thought what you were trying to say sounded silly to me, but after this post I see I misunderstood. It was pretty easy to draw the conclusion i did from what you posted, so don't get defensive at me.
And Madison, drinking is bad for you, but at the same time, it doesn't put out toxic chemicals into the air of everyone around you every single time.
Smoking sections are useless really. Say it's a specific part of the restaurant, but there's no barrier between that and the non smokers' section. The smoke is still going to drift into the non smokers section and into their lungs and food, so that doesn't help the situation. If you're talking about places that have specific enclosed rooms, that's not very much better; smoke still gets out when doors are opened. And if it's a restaurant, now some server that might not smoke is forced to go into an enclosed space (probably on the small side) and inhale that dense cloud of smoke. :-\

The thing about that is we all have choices, you know? I don't think it should be a federal ban on smoking in bars or resturaunts. I live in a state where it is okay to smoke, and some bars and resturaunts choose to be non smoking. a lot of them are quite popular, and I go there too! I know I can't smoke there and that is fine.
By that same token, there are bars where everybody is smoking...the point is, you don't HAVE to go to that bar. It's not church, a grocery store, a mall, or somewhere that it would significantly impact anybodys life if they didn't go. So, what is the harm in having a place where smokers want to go? nobody makes non smokers go to a tavern!

I'm going through an uber girly cig phase. I lovee vogues because they're so elegant, and mentholy. Mmm. Only problem is even though they're longer, I chain smoke them because I don't get the same hit off them like I do a regular cigarette. I wish they sold more flavoured cigarettes in Australia.
I have a packet of Black Magic's I brought back from o/s. They have black papers and just a hint of flavouring. I wish they had them here.
And in response to the thread jack. Smoking makes me happy. Pretty much everything that makes me happy shortens my life span.
Oh and just breathing in the air in Beijing is the equivilent to smoking 70 cigarettes a day I saw in a study. But I wouldn't trade some of my travel experiences for anything. I'd much rather live a full life for 60 years then huddle in a bubble somewhere and live to 90.

Warning: thread jack ahead...
I know we are all going to die one day, but avoiding cigs/booze/etc. will improve the quality of your life.
I smoked a pack a day/drank/drugged for 12 years. I have been totally clean for the past 8. I enjoyed the smoking, etc. when it was happening, but when I quit everything and became a healthier person, my life completely changed into the kind of life I've always dreamed about.
Not knocking any of the smokers here...I used to do it, and I know how much a person can love it. I used to love smoking!! But I will say that I enjoy being an ex-smoker much much more.

Just a quick note: second hand smoke is bad but you probably walk around the city where car fumes are relesed from cars which you breathe in anyway. the chemicals in those fumes are far worse than the smoke from a centimeter long tobacco stick;
Also I personally think that those who had an issue with smoking and entered this thread should think about this: The thread is titled "What cigs do you smoke?"
Your answers should have been "None" the end. Leave people be. Obesity is the number one killer and im sure you still eat cheeseburgers. If you havent anything nice to say dont say anything at all.

About 2 days later he sees me smoking a Parlament.

I've never even taken one drag from a cigarette in my whole life. I don't really care if other people do, personal choice and all that. I don't like it when I get smoke blown directly in my face but that's not so much the health implications, and more so the fact that it makes me cough and I dislike the smell. It is a habit I'm glad I never picked up. To be honest, I probably would've started smoking if it could get you high, but since it doesn't, I never saw the point. I'd rather smoke weed haha.
Smoking is completely banned in nightclubs, restaurants, and all enclosed public buildings here.

Yeah, I think so too. I can quite happily sit and have a conversation with a bunch of people who are smoking providing they turn their head to the side to exhale the smoke rather than blow it straight in my face.
This will sound really weird, especially coming from someone who has never smoked cigs at all and considering how much I hate the smell of the actual smoke, but I love kissing guys who have been drinking and smoking. For some reason I find the taste of cigarettes and Jack Daniels in a guys mouth really hot.
Our government has a really intense anti-smoking campaign. Do you have graphic photo warning labels on your cigarette packets?

I'm with you on that. My recent ex... *sigh* I just loved to kiss him after he'd had a beer and a cigarette. The taste plus the coldness in his mouth from the beer... sounds gross but it was hot to me. Oh, plus he looked really good with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, like a stoner Marlboro man.

I am all for smoking bans in restaurants..I dont want to smell smoke when I'm eating. Outside tables where you can smoke while you eat is fine. It isnt as concentrated. I want to taste my fettucini alfredo...not smoke!!
Seems odd in bars..esp since a lot of people who dont smoke normally, smoke when they drink. It kind of goes hand in hand for many. I LOVE it when a guy bitches about how unhealthy smoking is while he's knocking back his 6th Bud light..yeah dude..thats health food. OK.
But...I also HATE having smoke in my face...and I try really hard to not do it to others. I make sure they arent downwind of me when I smoke and I hold my cig way away from them so my smoke doesnt get near them.I think a lot of non-smokers would be more tolerant if smokers were more considerate.
