I don't see anything wrong with a LOW carboydrate diet. Of course a NO carboydrate diet would be bad for you. It is more important to focus on getting your carbs from healthy foods like veggies and berries.

The only really carb heavy foods I eat on a regular basis are small amounts of plain oatmeal or steamed rice (about 1/4-1/2 cup max), the occasional low carb tortilla, and carb heavy fruits like apples and bananas. I feel healthier than I ever have before.

I think cutting out refined sugars made a big difference for me. I splurged and had a chocolate chip cookie the other day...then afterwords I felt like total crap. It so wasn't worth it. I think it is important to find a way of eating the is healthy in the long term. You can't be on a really strict diet forever.
