I wanted to share this site:
www.serviceleader.org/new/virtual/
I noticed several people are looking to volunteer this month. this website talks about virtual volunteering, volunteering over the net. It's a good alternative to in person volunteering if you are exceptionally busy. It provides some resources and help on how to approach a business about this type of volunteering.
Just thought I'd share in case it might be helpful to anyone! :)

make more money than i did in july. july was my best month all year (totaled up already since im leaving for vacation tomorrow). and i want to beat that.
save save save! i need to replenish my savings after taking the money out for my BA.
keep working out and eating healthy. i've been doing pretty well but im spending the next 4 days eating what i want (for dinner & dessert. breakfast/lunch will still be normal and at least semi healthy.) and not working out and i dont like how that will make me feel.
find a therapist to help me work on my issues - anxiety and evvvverything else.
give my new club a fair shot. im banking there so far and i need to distance myself from the drama of the club i just left. im not shutting that door completely, because i left my trunk and some stuff there. i know i can go back if i want/need to. but i need to take some solid time away from there and branch out of my comfort zone (being a top girl, working with all my friends, being afraid of change).
it's only the 8th, but i think i'm on them pretty much! (just need to update this for myself :))
i'm doing well, money wise, at work. i've put a chunk of money in savings already and plan to put some more when i go to the bank tomorrow. i'm doing so well at my club, i love it!
i'm eating fairly well, but being fair, too. for my birthday i ate junk food. i'm giving myself some slack to go out drinking one night a week because one night wont kill me. i'm working out regularly.
i need to call a therapist. i'll make a call on monday.
as for the new club - i'm dealing. i'm much happier being away from the stress of my last club, even though i don't like change.

^^Glad to hear that your month is going well and that you're getting done what you set out to! :)
I guess the first week of August is gone...what have I done....stayed away from granola...but I seem to be picking up chocolate :( i've gotta stock my house with more fruit so I turn to that when I have a sugar attack! LOL! Been putting sunless tanner on...did is 3 times this month so far. Picking up my work shifts now that schools done so I can make my monthly goal. Made some progress on my house to do list too. Bought organizers and put up the blinds...does anyone know how hard blind are to put up!? My goodness! This week I plan on focusing on working out more and doing my house stuff.
Hope everyone else is having a great month so far! :)

1. Buy linoleum and plywood so I can put up my X-Pole with minimum damage to the apartment.
2. Put up X-Pole
3. Work 4 days a week for 3200 this month (I'm out for a week). That's a really low estimate of my minimum goals per shift, but business is still suffering so I don't want to be too ambitious. However, anything beyond 2100 puts me into savings for the next month, which means I'll finally be saving for AUGUST rather than the month before. For me, being on-schedule with my saving means having a month and a half's worth of financial "padding". Plus, once I catch up for august I can start throwing money into my "big" savings account and Roth Savings account.
4. Go in every shift, or make up for skipped shifts. I learned my lesson on thursday, and I'm not going to keep missing out on money because I "don't feel like it." Fuck, in a normal job you go in whether you want to or not. I have to get back into normal work-world attitude.
5. Become a volunteer at Ten Thousand Villages.
6. Find part-time job or, better yet, unpaid internship! (More valuable for my resume in the long run).
7. Open a SEP retirement account. The Roth is fine, but I want to cover my bases.
8. Find two more bookshelves. I'm desperate. My office has no floor-room because of all the homeless books:(
9. Start climbing at REI with my friend once a week, to further develop my upper body strength.
10. Earn enough to take boy and a couple friends to a nice dinner. My friend is going back to Brown at the end of August, and I want to treat her and her boyfriend to something nice.
Edit: 11. Fix my car!!!
1. Not necessary. The pole is actually nicely padded to minimize damage.
2. Done. I've been trying to practice once a day for at least 20 min.
3. Thanks to UFC and other good luck I've already made 3200 as of last night. Combine that with my CRP check return and I've "made" 3900. I'm done saving for August, so I'll start throwing money at the 11000 I'm behind in saving for IRA, Tuition, and my future house:D
4. So far I've gone in an extra shift. So far so good.
9. Went this week. We're going again. It's amazing how much of a work-out you get in three minutes of climbing a wall.
10. Already did it. Whatever money I made each night that wasn't a round 100 was saved up, and I took them to dinner last night.
I'm happy that my goals are going so well right now.

Speaking of UFC, who is all working tonight? I hear it should be good (this will be my first "fight night"). Hopefully it takes us all closer to our August (financial) goals! :)

So far Im making more than my goal, hopefully the trend will continue for the month. The summer slump is letting up so yay for that :). Since ive been working at least 4 days a week I have picked up alot more regulars and that's paying off too.

Wait. Are you in MN right now??
And as for fight night... meh. We had a whole lot of nothing until midnight and then we had a whole lot of douchebags. I didn't see any fighters. Glad we got them in on Wed so I could make that money.

Nope....Dallas. Why?
PS: I didn't make it in last night, I'm still too chicken shit to work a Saturday night *sigh*. Hopefully I get over my fear of being on stage in a packed club sometime soon :(

Oh. I thought since you called it a "fight night" that you would be working where the fight actually was. It was really lame. UFC fighters are way cooler than their douchy fans.

what? its still a fight night even if you dont live there. /:O most clubs have the fights on.
fight nights typically arent good, though, so i wouldnt count on that being a big money night.

Yes, but I wouldn't normally think the fight would positively effect the money in most places besides the fight location, since there's no great change in population (out-of-towners in for the fight, people coming in from Canada, etc). Thus, my misunderstanding her post as implying that she would be in town for the fight. You should all be happy you weren't. Downtown was fucking crazy. Packed to the gills. Unfortunately, it was packed to the gills with assholes.
I was surprised that our club didn't have the fight on, but I guess that would have distracted customers from actually buying dances. That always seems to be the case when a big game is on the tv.
"Would you like a dance?"
"After the game."

You're gorgeous. A packed stage can be the easiest money of the night! You just make sure to move quickly along the tip rail and you'll be fine. I find big (responsive) crowds to be an adrenaline rush when I'm on stage.

Adrenaline rushes for me, spark panic attacks.....:(
I hit the stage on a busy Wednesday (we have this big lunch buffet and the club gets crowded), and I was shaking, sweating, felt like throwing up, etc.
I REALLY want to be able to work some nights though. Maybe I'll be ready sometime soon...I guess the only way to beat the fear is to walk right into it, head-on. It's just getting myself to actually DO IT.

Fight nights generally don't affect my money actually. Sure I get guys who want to watch the game but not every one. Bachelor parties annoy me more than people there for fight night by far.
I've never met my goals for any of these month threads, but maybe this month is the month!
I want to enjoy my week in Colorado!
Get my school stuff situated, all the classes and schedule stuff.
Start working out. I got told "oh you gained weight, you look great!" by a regular today and was really offended!!! Must lose now....
As for work, I want to be doing 4 days a week, any day but 4 days no matter what :)
I'm thoroughly enjoying my week in colorado as I type this :)
School stuff I can't do till I get back
I've been hiking and biking mountains pretty much my whole trip, so I'd consider that working out. Unfortunately I've also been eating tons of hot cheetos (my weakness) on the road...
I don't think I am going to be able to accomplish the work goal with everything going on this month. If I get 6 shifts in I'll be happy.

On August 11 I will buy a gym membership (they go up half price that day) and do cardio 6 days a week, weight training 3 days.
Pay off my credit card debt by the end of the month ($530 left!)
Work two days on, one day off whenever possible.
1. Stupid bullshit, I couldn't do it the gym is closed for like almost that entire time so it wasn't worth it. Plus they wanted me to pay for an affiliate card, not worth it when my student ID will be just fine come January. I am planning on getting a membership to a regular gym when I move home though.
2. DONE!!!
3. I don't know, i've been working a lot though, 5 days a week with an occassional double shift thrown in.

1. Make $6000 from July 21st - Aug 21st ($1500/wk) - Exceeded that.
2. Work a minimum of 3 shifts per week - Completed that, with the exception of one week where I only worked 2 shifts.
3. Work at least 1 night shift per week - DONE!
4. Get over my fear of working a busy weekend night shift. - DONE!!!
5. Sample some other clubs in the area sometime during the month of August, to compare $$$. - Haven't done it yet :(

Not too much financial goals but basically...
Make more money by starting new peep show.
Work at clubs 3-4 days per week.
At least 1 party per weekend.
Furiously plan for burning man!:goodvibes
Others: see counselor and go back to group.
Considering I only planned for burning man and went back to group I had a pretty decent month financially even with taking the week off.
Starting the new peep show this week.

Great job getting over your busy weekend phobia! That should bump up your earning potential significantly, and since you already bank that's awesome!
