^ I envy the girls at Magic City because they only DANCE (and entertain, of course) and make crazy money. White clubs lack the appreciation of dance you find in ethnic clubs. I'd love to be JUST a dancer, not a self esteem engineer and professional hand push away-er.
Yeah, that would be brilliant. They don't even do table dances?

^ they do, but it's a totally different atmosphere. Really fun, really over the top.
PS... TROGDOR!!!

I don't know that necessarily, but it's in it's legendary stage and is probably the most popular club in Atlanta, black or not. Like, you know how old white guys talk about Mons Venus back in it's hey day? Old black dudes will be talking about Magic City like that someday. It's like nothing else I've ever seen.

Seriously, I hate having to make love to them with my eyes and words and have them begrudgingly pay me like I owe them ("I bought you drinks! I gave you investing advice!"). A club where you can just DANCE, chat, and be a professional naked party guest would rule.

Anyway to answer the question, the only way I wouldn't work at any 1K a night club was if my ass was kicked out the door. I don't give a fuck about comments or hostility.
From what I have seen, most of the dancers making threats are full of hot air and motivated by a huge inferiority complex. All talk, no action.
i dont know about you but ive seen (and done) more than comments and hostility. ive seen girls locks superglued shut, laxatives put in drinks, spit in bags, piss in bags, a girl pee in a drink and throw it on a girl, had my brand new car fucked up pretty bad in a club where that shit went on a lot and wasnt done by or to the same girls, heard stories about a girl being suspended for a year because she hit a girl with a curling iron or something, heard from a diff girl at a diff club that a girl tried to burn her..
and the list goes on. ive seen and done a lot of fucked up things that are NOT just idle threats.

Definitely. The only issue would be what if I didn't make a grand because of being in the minority, but I get the impression it's guaranteed either way. So fuck yeah, even if I did feel my safety was a little compromised. It's a hell of a lot more than I'm making now.
hehehaha

I answered your poll before reading your explanation. Let me just clarify that I don't care what the race of the customers are, but I assumed any club that a girl could make a guaranteed $1000 a night would have to have an extras problem. Customers of any race don't just throw $100 dollar bills on the stage w/o any hope of something sexual.

To be completely honest, I would feel uncomfortable being the only white dancer at an all-black club.
I have actually thought about that before (what it would be like to work at a club like that). Would I make bank with my fake boobs & platinum blonde hair, because it would be so "different" - or would I walk out with $20, because I have a small ass and can't shake it? }:D Heh. Most black girls I know, have nice asses and can totally dance! I think I would definitely look silly trying to compete w/ that.
This thread also got me thinking about the SC I work at. I haven't seen one black girl. We do get black customers, but no black dancers.... So effin' weird. I never really thought about this until just now. :O

I voted caucasian yes, but now I think about how girls who are different from the norm in clubs so often get singled out and bullied, and being of a different race is a big deviation. Considering that I'm not sure I could cope with possible drama from other dancers, but I would have no problem with custies.

But, I mean it's a silly premise meant make us understand the difficulties of ethnic dancers who work in nearly all white clubs in hopes of making better money than at an ethnic club. Girls who work at BROTHELS don't make a guaranteed grand a shift, so this magical club is simply imaginary.

As long as i was not in real danger, and did not have to do anything i don't already do (i.e. extras) i'd do it. I have been doing this long enough that the normal bs that goes on doesn't bother me.

There's a country-music Dallas club? Do you mind saying where? I'm just curious...didn't know we had one of those!

I honestly don't know. If I could make money I would. I can get along with anyone and even if I was the only white chick I would try to make friends. I can't imagine the situation tho coz of where I live.
Would one white chick in a black club be accepted and make money tho? I really have no idea.

Ahhh so the topic got turned to Magic City! I would love to work in a club like that. They don't really exist in the "all white" form, although I think maybe they used to.
I'm answering "hell yes" if I would work as the only white girl in a club. I like standing out and being different at work and have no problem relating to people of other cultures. The only problem I might have is with men who don't speak English because I am not fluent and barely conversant in any other language.

maybe, but my answer would be the same if it was about a black club, a hispanic club, whatever. i prefer being in a club that has a mix. and that doesnt mean an all white club, either.

For a garunteed grand a night, I would put up with 100 girls calling me a cracker honkey ass, dumping saltenes in my work bag, talking smack about me to the customers....whatever. I could give a shit. If I worked 100 days out of the year, thats a 100 grand cash. Pretty sure I could deal with that . I would put up with pretty much any kind of BS

in a perfect world, which i guess that's what this thread is about. but in reality, girls talking shit about you to customers and doing all that stuff would prevent you from doing as well.

Ohhhh....I love you for writing that! I've been wanting to go back to working a dancing club for a few months to shake the cobwebs away. It hardly exists anymore!! I'm sick of being a fucking therapist/cheerleader. Sometimes you just want to have fun interpreting the music and putting on a great show.
I can't give an opinion because I've experienced being harrassed out of a club and seen others harrassed. By harassment I mean physically assaulted, then blamed by management. So I can't say that money trumps hateration because it doesn't. And sometimes you bank as a minority and it's great and other times you barely make it out the door with the money. Of course in my friend's case she made it out the door only to find her Beemer keyed!! Ahh Jersey....good times. >:(

yeah, that's the kind of stuff i'm talking about. not name calling and girls being "mean." i had my brand new car fucked up by a girl at work (not because of race or anything, just as an example) a little over a year ago, and the girl was screwing the manager so he told the police that i must have done it myself. yeah, ok. ::)

A few days after making that post, I did see one black girl on dayshift (there may be more at night). She's a total sweetheart too - one of the nicest dancers I've spoken to so far. Not the typical catty attitude. Woo.
