Any updates girls???
My hair is growing, but not as fast as I had hoped...
ok, i want to try this too. But nobody is giving any results. Dosent anyone measure around here!!!!! geez .... Pictures .. SOMTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My hair is a little past my shoulders, falls out like crazy, is super fine and fairly thin. So I keep it permed so it at least looks like I have a full head of Hair. My hair is healthy though. I have to go to Walmart today anyway. i am going to try this. I wear my hair up all week anyway for work so even if it makes it a little greasy it isnt a big deal.
I will measure my hair and take pics for you guys. I will post the updated pictures every Friday. I will keep it in my hair Sat-Fri. I will wash it on Sat before I go to the club. Since Sat is the only day I dance that will work fine. I will probably wash it once or twice during the week but reapply as soon as it is dry. I am also going to mix it with castor oil. I hope that will help.
ok, so my husband threw a fit and said NO way am I going to put pussy cream on my hair till the other girls have been doing it for a while and we know it wont make my hair fall out. lol. He did on the other hand say the castor oil is fine. he is so retarded. so how do I use the castor oil?

Reporting measuments:
After approx 1month my hair has grown approx 1"....sorry I can't pinpoint a measurement, my hair is in layers - its difficult to measure! Normally it grows 1/2" a month. I used monistat for 1 week, stopped a week (too busy moving) and continued with mega-tek the other 2 weeks. I switched to mega-tek, because the coochie creams smells bad!
So, YAY! It grew faster! I only put it on 3-4x a week, so maybe if I put it on 5-7x a week it will grow faster? I think I will try that! Cross your fingers my hair doesnt fall out!:D
Be back next month to report measurements!

Lol It's ment to go IN your vagina, I doubt it will hurt your scalp! Castor oil doesn't sound like a good idea..... all I can think of is a nasty empire of zits rising all over the hairline :yuck: Unless, of course, you're talking about using it once a week.

Well first off, did you go back and tell the hair dresser you werne't happy with the results?
As far as doing this...I'll be honest, I haven't been doing it enough. I'm going to start back tonight though! I promise..
Also, I never took pics of my hair growth, I can just look at it and tell that it's growing!

yay!! that's so good that it's growing! how much do you think that it's grown since you've started? I just had a lovely convo with the pharmacist at target (damn my easily confused mind!) about putting it on your hair.
I start sunday!
ooohh yeah. I told them. I'm kinda a pushover, but I said at the salon that I was unhappy with the color. I called in later that night and said i would like them to redo it. they said they wouldn't because "it wasn't their policy' so I backed down.
the next day, i stewed and stewed until i finally decided to call and demand my money back. i spoke to the manager, and apparently they NEVER give refunds or redos to unhappy customers!! I was shocked! also, super, super pissed. >:(:banghead::bomb:
and my boyfriend is coming tomorrow to see me for the first time in a month. fantastic. :-\

If you feel that bad about it, (I don't blame you) I'd call the state board of cosmetology on them!

it works. i don't have pics of my growth either but can tell it grew faster than normal. i applied a few times a week and probably started to notice after a few weeks.
i've since switched over to megatek and that works as well, maybe better? smells good for sure and my layers have started to grow out noticeably. if you go that route i recommend reading up on it at longhaircareforum.com or naturallycurly.com/curltalk. regardless of what type of hair you have you want to make sure you don't kill your hair with too much protein (breaking, shedding, dryness). taking garlic pills can combat the negative side effects.
happy growing!

great - I think I will start with the monistat (cheaper!) but I'll prolly look into the megatek!
and ck that's a good idea!! I'm still soo mad, but I'm growing into it (mostly thanks to my sister and mom's help!)

Alright, day 3 of puttin this shit back on my scalp. I type this as I pat my head something awful! It itches so much. That imo, is a good thing. Means it's working!

Last night I tried tea tree and olive oil thinking it would be like an antifungal.
My scalp feels so calm today. No itching or irritation. Maybe it just needed oil, but I really don't think so.
I'm gonna keep trying this to see it makes my hair thicker. I;ve been able to brush more vigorously so that's gotta help.

Yes, it really does work! I actually got a bit lazy, and my highlights were growing out quickly and stopped using it. Started again. I also like Mega Tek in conjunction with the Monistat.

I've been taking biotin, gelatin, and pre-natal vitamins and I've seen a noticeable difference in my hair growth, overall health, and I'm definitely happier (yay for vitamin D)
For those of you who don't want to put crap on your scalp, these are easily accessible at GNC.

I just read all 11 pages of this thread.
I have very fine hair that gets oily quite fast and am interested in the caster oil applications - do you apply this directly to your scalp the way you do the monistat? Will this make my hair more oily?
Otoki I think vitamins are going to be a better way for me to go. What is the benefit of prenatal vitamins vs a women's 1 a day w/ breast health?
Does anyone have any experience with other products beyond monistat, mega tek and caster oil? For example I'd love to have hair down to my waist (about 1/2 way down my back now) but I think I am going to need something that will make it stronger too - it's so fine.

I take pre-natal vitamins because my hairdresser friend recommended them. I also take biotin and gelatin for hair, skin, and nails. The multivitamin is just for general health.

For Otoki and Charlee: If you aren't interested in putting the monistat in your hair (all you do is sleep in it overnight) I have another solution for you. A few years ago (probably before both you girls' time) we had a thread called Walmart Hair Pills! Bestest thread to date imo. :D

I actually don't shop at Walmart, but if you know the ingredients/have a link to the pills themselves I can figure out what's in them:)

^^Nevermind, I found the ingredients. For those who are interested:
the supplement facts at the very bottom says it also contains:Cellulose, calcium phosphate, steric acid, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, food glaze and vanilla
it says one take one tablet but I myself have been taking two...I been drink a glass of milk everytime I take these pills because they go down smooth for me.......one in the morning .....and one before bed.I really don't know 2 much about what vitamins are good for my hair...........all I know is I tried everything.....I tried HAIR,SKIN AND NAILS, and other stuff sold at Sallys beauty sup...OH and Ive changed my diet......more fruits and veggs..cut soda and other sugar drinks...I can't see why anyone would get results using this product........after all I came to a stand still after having my kids....My hair would even grow with all the vitamins I was taking before and after the baby........I just hope that I keep getting those results after using this product for the next year...........I wanna grow my hair back to my lower back...short hair is sexy but not on everyone............. I wanna get outta the wearing my hair in a ponytail habit
Now I just have to find some equivalent pill.

I just looked at my hair skin and nails formula from GNC and it has essentially the same amount of each ingredient, but way more biotin.

otoki thanks for posting the ingredients for the walmart hair pills - I was just going to ask , as i don't shop there either
as for the prenatal vitamins, I have been taking them on and off for months! i need to start doing that religiously!! (and kinda off topic, but I'm also starting a natural treatment for depression and trying to kick pharms, so I'm starting on vitamin D too! esp in these winters, it's needed ::) )
anyways, I haven't really started on the monistat, but I will!! I promise!! I hope that you are all seeing freakishly fast and super beautious hair growth ladies ;D

blah sorry for the lack of postage!! I have no pics, but IT WORKS!!!! I am super lazy about putting it on, but, combined with me taking prenatal vitamins and GNC hair skin & nails pills, I have seen about an inch of growth in a month!! that's an estimate, but it was A LOT! i highly recommend this!!
and my hair didn't fall out, my scalp didn't bleed, nothing bad like that, hehe!! it is pretty great stuff ;D

I did have an unusual amount of split ends, but I don't at all contribute that to this technique, I think it was just a shitty haircut.
My hair has actually been stronger and healthier than it has in ages, which is funny, as I just had it highlighted!
Otoki, if you have some dryness, I would highly recommend doing a moisturizing treatment a few days per week with coconut oil. I mentioned this on another post, and how it is the only thing that has been proven to actually heal split ends. Now, I just read that on makeupalley, so I don't know if it's true, but it's def worked for me!
Otherwise, John Frieda gloss treatment really works to add shine, but I don't know how healthy it actually is for your hair.

So I tried this monistat thing... and holy CRAP is it ever hard to do the back of your head! I get it everywhere and then my hair looks so greasy. I don't know if I will continue with it, purely for that reason (also, I did get headaches when I put it on... AND it made my hair really soft, to the point where I couldn't do anything with it)
I want long hair, but not this bad, haha.

I take pills with biotin, which helps a lot. I take pre natal vitamins and GNC hair skin & nail vitamins, which seems to help a lot. I also use a qtip to apply the monistat, but I don't know how keen I would be on continuing the treatment if you are having headaches! :-\

Yeah I'm definitely not going to continue... if the stuff is giving me headaches, it makes me worry about WHAT I'm putting on my head haha! I've just started using monistat around my temples. The rest of my hair is okay, but the area s in the front are thinning a bit.My dermatologist says it may be due to my medications and the damage I've done to my hair through bleaching, dyeing, stripping the color.ect.Hopefully the monistat will encourage either new growth or faster growth of what's there. We will see.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread.I look forward to hearing your results:-)

Simply amazing! I'm going to try this as soon as I get done with the micros, and get back to a more natural look. :D
How long was your hair when you started this CK? My own hair doesn't even grow evenly. Idk wtf is wrong with it. It's long-ish, like past my shoulders, but I have an unreal amount of shedding and breakage, so I don't even bother with it most of the time. I'm bi-racial, and for having somewhat "black hair," my hair is SUPER fine. So, to keep the hair I have I either have braids, or I do the wash n' wear natural thing. I'd like to be able to do more with my own hair, but I'm not really into being bald and starting over. I'm going to give this a shot, and maybe talk to my hairstylist about working with some extensions in the meantime.
Thanks for the suggestions, tips and amazing information resources, ladies!

I think the most difficult issue with "black" hair (or any hair where women feel the need to change its general shape) is that so many women use heat to style it, which is super hard on your hair, no matter how much product you put into it. Obviously if you're dancing and you feel better or make more money when you style your hair with heat, that's just the way it's going to be, but if you want longer hair (that you can straighten once in a while to change things up) I'd say stop using heat on it. That's the only real tip I can give, because no matter how fast your hair grows, if you're damaging it it's going to show, and if it's breaking it won't get longer because any length you gain from growth will be negated by the length loss by splitting.
