while this may be true, i feel the only change that needs to be made for that club is the color of my skin.
Again.. not trying to attack. That's not the kind of attitude you need to get hired. How do you know they wouldn't hire you with straight hair or after toning up?
I think I'm really hot, I'm a model, have the perfect body (IMO), make great money, guys drool over me but there are still things that I could or would change in order to get hired at another club if I needed to.

It happens at clubs. That's the way it is. However having an attitude like that is just going to hold you down - you need to be more positive. Even when dancing - no one buys dances from resentful and unhappy strippers.
I wish you well though.
ETA: When I didn't get hired at the one club that wouldn't hire me years ago, I took the managers advice, came back and auditioned and banked.

The problem I was having on here is that some of the girls refuse to make that first statement as if it is impossible. but what was the managers advice?
Arizona_Angel
08-21-2008, 09:48 AM
^^ Not saying the manager gave you specific advice, I am basically saying I had ACCEPTED advice that was given to me and it worked in my favor.
What I am trying to say is that there are alot of ladies who are trying to help you out.
I know that there are clubs out there that discriminate. I have worked at some that refused to hire any girls that weren't straight up white. I am sorry it happens, but you can't let it get you down. It's just the way it is.

oh trust, they've been asking me to come. tone up? for god's sake i'm 105 pounds.
There is a HUGE difference between 105 that is sloppy and 128 that is tone as fuck.

ibi i understand but emily is pissing me the fuck off. she always comes on my threads and attacks them. some people hate to admit that there is still racism in america. i am a very pretty girl and it has nothing to do with anything that i can control.
Who's pulling the race card here, Emily or YOU?
She said NOTHING about race, you did.

you've seen my pics ibi. i dress nicely when i go. one club won't even let me talk to the manager. just takes my application at the door. and i hate, hate to do this, but it is the race thing. other girls have gone, i just found out, and started work that night. they were white. i'm willing to bet my life if a white girl goes next week they'd start working.
I know what you mean. When a friend of mine wanted me to work with her at some dump in North Hollywood, the manager reminded me of a toilet. He was fat, white and full of shit. He denied that they were hiring when I first walked in. I waited until she was working before I tried again. I got hired after my audition and one of the first things I noticed was that the management was racist enough to hire a fat, sloppy looking white girl with stretch marks all over the place, greasy looking blonde hair, the face of a wilder beast and floppy boobs before he'd hire a well toned, pretty woman of color. Its ridiculous when getting hired is based on skin color instead of appearance.

Yes ma'am.. when I was 110 I still had some flab on me but I stopped worrying about the fucking scale and I'm so much happier with my extra 8lbs of muscle and I look sooooooooooo much better.
Good luck to you HG, I really do wish you well and I hope you find a place that makes you happy and makes you money. How are the other job interviews coming along?

dumb ass ups had me go all the way up there to tell me to come back at five in the morning. i don't have a sitter or a ride that early. i have some job interview tomorrow. i can't even remember the position i applied for honestly. and nothing the club is doing makes me uncomfortable. it's my dancing. my body does not move like that and i don't care what anyone says, in memphis, when people come to black clubs they wanna see all the ass poppin and my body just can't do that. if i get a job, i won't have to worry about dancing and we'll be better off but rent's due monday and i don't have a dime torwards it.

i swear to god you come up with excuses just to make yourself feel better. practice dancing in front of a mirror, if i can pop my ass you can. i dont think its your dance ability i think its your confidence levels and the fact that you make excuses about everything about why you cant make money.
i seriously think the pity party should stop here, or get out of this buisness becuase with an attitude like you have you will never make money.

aside from the splits i can do about 70 percent of that, but i dont usually becuase its not my style nor my clubs style. thats not the point. you finally got hired and your still complaining. people are eventually going to get sick of coddling you. you dont have to do anything a certain way to make money.
yes you lack confidence and comfort, they go hand in hand with what you are giving as the reason for not wanting to work there.
people on this board have given you advice and support up and down since you signed up here, and everytime you come up with reasons or excuses things dont work out. im venting out of frustration, becuase you cant seem to see that you have a good thing finally and your just like "woah is me i cant bounce my ass why bother"
did you ever stop to think its your attitude thats holding you back???????
my lord its stripping not rocket science.

Why not work at the club, watch how to pop it and learn?

I can do that and guess what I didn't know how at first but I learned because that's what I saw was making money. Then I changed it to a more sexy way slower version and made more. That is when I was at this certain club that was like that.

Yeah I can do EVERYTHING in that video except the splits and I walked into dancing 5 months ago with ZERO dancing ability stripping or otherwise. You know what I did?? Practiced in a mirror and asked other girls how they did it and my butt is not all that big (see pic <-----)
Like they said if you NEED a job and you NEED rent suck it up go that club you got hired at a PRACTICE! No one can just jump into anything and be a pro.
PS it ALL in your lower back and butt muscles (like if you were trying to hold in a poop but one side at a time) get on all fours and stretch your back down and then up and repeat until you losen those lower back muscles up and they spread legs while squatting and POP

Some employment is better than no employment besides you look better to prospective employers when you currently have a job. Seriously if you have NO money think of your daughter and forget everyone else and do what YOU gotta do. Throw the excuses out the window.

see, this helps. haven't tried it and not sure if it's gonna work, but this helps. i'm just gonna do this for this months rent only though.just like they said, dancing is not cut out for everyome and i just think i'm one of those people. i think i'ma do the dollar hustle-ask everybody who comes in for a dollar. this one girl said she made 500 just from doing that on a packed night.

Absolutely. I am also on your side HG, but you do make an awful lot of excuses. Not remembering where you applied, is not a good thing. You should be researching the companies you are applying at & doing your homework/research, so you can impress the hell out of them in your interviews.
I also agree with what everyone else has said....You can learn how to dance. Not one of those girls in that club woke up one day and knew those ass-poppin' moves. They learned them, and it took time. You can do it too, but give it more than a few days to learn, before you just give up and say, "my body won't do that".

I just get this vibe from you that you are already putting yourself in this mindset that you'll probably fail. At dancing, learning to booty shake, etc. It may be one of those things that you will have to practice and take you longer to 'get' than other girls. But if you're really determined, you CAN and WILL do it. Because you love your daughter and want to take care of her. You know what needs to be done Study, study, study. Be it at the club or on youtube at the moves you need to learn. Practice it like it's a fricken homework assignment you can't fail. Dancing could improve your life, take this opportunity and grab it by the horns! You have already started to take baby steps by getting hired. You have the tools and skills to learn, and you've gotten through life with your daughter this far, keep going!

Okay, that's enough. A few of you are really getting on my last damn nerve (I'm talking to you i.breathe.in, Lysondra and Emily). Please stop berating HG. You same girls do it in all of her threads and it's sickening. If you think she's so incorrigible then stop responding to her threads. You're not trying to "help" so stop hiding behind that lie.
HG- I had the same problem when I started working in black clubs. I was skinny and I really had no ass to pop. But I just danced to slower music and moved my hips more than my ass until I learned to actually make it pop. It takes practice. But once your ass is trained, it's like second nature. You can probably learn the basic ass pop (on all fours, using your hips to make your ass move) in about a week with practice. The other stuff make take longer but once you have the basic down, they are much easier to do. In fact, even after I learned to make it pop on all fours by just moving my hips, it took me a long time to work up the muscle control to make my cheeks pop individually.
I would suggest you go back to the club and dance how you dance. Slow and sexy works wonders when every one else is doing ass tricks. You're new and every one of those girls had to learn to pop her ass and they probably felt like you do before they learned. If you have the Gift of Gab you can still make good money while you get you ass to work the way you want. Hustling black guys in a black club is different that hustlng other guys but I was successful even without all the extra popping. Here (http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=117984) is a link to a pretty good thread about hustling in black clubs. When you're at work, watch the booty poppers and then go home and practice. If there are some nice girls there, ask them to help you learn.
As a black stripper, I completely understand how important ass popping is in black clubs. It seems that others don't understand how black clubs work or what black men often come to see.
Please keep your head up. I know things just seem to be shitty right now but This Too Shall Pass.

It's not some huge secret or skill, it's all about muscle isolation and control, nothing more, nothing less.
