^^^I have a similar style to your friend in that I wear less makeup, modest stripper wear, ect. but I would call it "girl next door" and not "regular girl." I don't want to be regular. I want to stand out.

this describes it perfectly- the girl next door look. i personally hate make-up, and sometimes i wears none, just go right on stage, and sometimes i get lucky and score vip.
but, i am naturally pretty with a young looking face. I am also "standing out" , next to all the really made up girls.
all in all, every one has a different fantasy, depending on their mood.

I get what you're saying. A lot of customers love the girl-next-door look, but it's a style. Not all customers are into it, and not all dancers can or want to do it.
I think you should re-phrase your threads with "I love regular/naked/blank... blank!!!" instead of "Why don't you..." It's less critical and argumentive.

adding: is it just me or does someone wanting their strippers to not look like "strippers" seem really high maintenance?
oh the irony.

Well, once you're naked, I guess it doesn't matter.....

I just don't understand. Why would a guy come to a STRIP club to see "regular girls" when he can go down the street to a nightclub and see them for free? I have seen MANY "regular girls" at bars flashing boobs and coochie for free. Not only that, you have a thousand times better chance at getting that drunk regular girl to go home with you than you would with a dancer. Maybe that's why these girls get more attention than us when they come into the strip club. Whatever.....they are giving away for free what I'm getting paid to do.

There is a running thread through message boards to ask for others' opinions, and then argue when they're expressed.
You could make a case that a "normal-dressed" dancer has an air of familiarity or attainability that enhances the experience for some customers. Wouldn't work as the normal business model, though.

However, I like leaving the girls behind when I go. Either place. (It's mutual - they're glad to see me go, too. Either place.)

Pieces of evidence:
1) The phenomenon of "new girl money"....guys like the new non-professional girls.
2) The popularity of "normal girl" porn like "first time amateurs", GGW, etc, instead of the silicone and hairspray heavy-breathing old school porn
3) My ATF said one time she came in on an off day, got on stage in her street clothes with her BF, and BANKED when she took them off
4) The non-stripper girls (who you hate) who go into clubs and distract the guys...."Regular girls".
Oh Everyman..... you generalize like there is no tomorrow. ::) While you are more than welcome to express your opinions and preferences, I hardly see you as an authority on what "guys" like and whom "we strippers" hate.
Here are some points for you to ponder...
1. Often times a Club will set the dress code for dancers. Street clothes, pants, short dresses, and demure lingerie may not be allowed.
2. The types of girls hired by the Club might adhere to a certain weight/height, ethnicity, hair length, etc. with little variation therein.
3. The customer base of any given club, city, state, region, etc. may gravitate towards a particular type of girl. That doesn't make your opinion invalid... it may just be an issue of Majority Rule.
With those points considered, realize that what doc-c says is very true true...
Any stripper worth her salt knows there's good money in being adaptable.
When it comes to clothing and hustle, dancers do whatever gets them the biggest pay off. The girl-next-door approach might not go over too well in your neck of the woods. However, if this (very unscientific) poll has anything to show, it's that this type of approach is pretty popular overall. http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64890
To me, money talks, bullshit walks. I can be witty, slutty, brilliant, ditzy, aloof, approachable, seductive, funny, ridiculous, reserved, or downright mean depending on what my customer wants...the list goes on, believe me.
If a guy walks in with cash in his wallet I am happy to accommodate what ever his heart desires (within reason, of course ;))
What separates me from an ACTUAL girl next door is my ability to sense and judge what my customer wants.... without him having to spell it out for me.
I am a stripper and I do my job damn well.
If your fantasy is the girl next door, the real girl next door or just newbie strippers, find a club that has a higher population of girl next door types. I urge you to spend some time on stripclublist and tuscl researching clubs in your area.

Because regular girls do not strip. If someone in a SC who dresses like a regular girl strips, it completes a common fantasy of seeing a regular girl naked. As in, upon seeing a regular girl on the street: "Gee, I wish I could see her naked!"-type fantasy.

I've seen your photos on Picture Post. I do not think you need to worry much about not standing out, in or out of the club.

Ha! I see it on a regular basis at bars and nightclubs I've been too. Drunk idiot chicks with a Girls Gone Wild fantasy or something.

I totally thought of this thread the other day...
You know, I walk into work, headed for the dressing room, in my baggy clothes with my head down ignoring the customers... and they are all staring and whistling and just making a big deal over me. I get into my cute little outfit and suddenly no one really pays attention to me...
Makes me mad. Sometimes I wonder if I should go for a more normal look... but I paid too much for those outfits.

I have been dancing for 3 years and I am the "regular girl". I make great money that way. I don't feel comfy pretending fakeness. I like being normal and not tanning and no extensions and no crazy personality. It just personally does not work for me and that's cool. But there are night where us regular girls don't do too well either because they want the "strippah" girls. Oh well. You win some and you loose some and everytime you go in you tweak your game a bit more and step up a few steps higher.
I tend to go for the less stripperish looks and it has always served me well. When you have a club full of 70 chicks in bikins, booty shorts and netted dresses if you have a pretty enough face, looking a bit more pedestrian can work in your favor. Does for me:) That said, I'm not working in my street clothes, just very toned down stripperwear.

I did the "regular girl" thing again. I work 4.5 inch heels, a tank top and black miniskirt. I made money, but no more or less than normal.

Well, could you wear one of your cute little outfits under your baggy clothes? Get the tips while they are whistling, and I bet you would continue to get them in the cute little outfit. Or out of it, as the case may be.
Gotta admit, imagining it sort of excites me.
