plasticland.com - i saw an ad on the internets & thought these legwarmers would be cute for dancing in. 2 months later, nothing in the mail, even though they claim they shipped my order. they won't return my emails either.
superhooper.org - reeeally shitty quality LED hoops for a lot of money. mine broke within a week. they are designed poorly & not "professional" hoops as they claim they are. granted, i hoop really fast & the thing was extremely heavy, but if it breaks within a week with no mistreatment other than hooping on my waist, shouldn't i get some kind of compensation?

I have always felt that way about chain restaurants. Perhaps living in San Francisco for so long helped shaped my attitude. That city was so pro-small business for such a long time. It wasn't until recently that you really had to search hard to find a Star<*cks for Denny's.
When I moved to LA, it wasn't so much Santa Monica, where I live, but everywhere else, chain restaurants were just everywhere!! And artists that I met didn't feel ashamed of eating in those shit holes!
I get physically affected in a negative way when I have to walk into one of those places.
I think big corporate overtaking is just sad in general...small local businesses, especially restaurants, help give a city its own unique flavor (no pun intended :P ) Why are people so quick to throw that away for cheap crap at a big-box chain mess?

Red Robin- When I was like 12 I went there with my mom and ordered a hamburger and he asked how I wanted my meat cooked and I said "well done". He then start sexually harassing me over it by saying things like "are you sure you don't want a little pink in it, a little pink is reeeeeaaallly good. I love pink." and winking and doing "sexy" perv gestures with his mouth. My mom was like WTF get away, she's 12!!! I can't go there now because I remember that and it just really skives me out.
I also hate places like chilies. Like big name restaurants. Their menus only have like 12 things to choose from and usually nothing I want is on there. Like I literally would rather just not eat. I need lots of variety.

Mother effing PAYPAL and BANK of AMERICA. HATE those a*holes.
I had an account with Paypal for a year and a half and have been with B of A for about 5 years. Last summer, I had my own apartment and was not dancing so I did *not* have much money ... most everything I made went straight to rent and bills.
Someone managed to hack into my Paypal account (I still don't know how) which was connected directly to my one and only banking account, which had debit and credit card capabilities. I received emails saying my Payapal account password had been changed and to call customer service if this wasn't authorized - I literally called within 5 minutes of this happening to try to prevent anyone from f*ing with my money. I didn't get through to a REAL person so I was forced to leave a message. I then did the same thing with B of A so they could keep an eye out for any suspicious activity on my account and hopefully block it. Same deal. No person, just a message center.
I'm literally sitting at home logged into my online banking and refreshing the page every few minutes to see what happens in my bank account and lo and behold within 20 minutes, some a*hole in CHINA had taken $900 out of my checking account and sent it to himself through Paypal!! I didn't even have that much in there to begin with, but stupid B of A let the transaction go through anyways and then charged me exorbitant OVERDRAFT fees!
Long story short, rent was due in a week, I was now broke because they had allowed my money to be sent to a foreign country, and Paypal claimed it was not their problem - I needed to fix it with my bank, while B of A insisted they could not fix it without Paypal refunding my money. It literally took three weeks to get my money back and then B of A charged ME to get a new debit/credit card and new checks! Needless to say, I promptly CANCELLED my Paypal account and sent them scathing emails.

I used to work for Benefit as a Beauty Artist.
I've used the products and seen the effects on myself and other women alike.
Benefit does have "cute" and "witty" packaging, unfortunately, most of their time and thinking goes into the packaging and naming of the product instead of the actual formulations and ingredients.....
When you walk up to the Benefit counter & ask about ingredients, the girls (or guy) will give you some witty saying or blah, but believe me... they were just trained to memorize that.
Benefit Skincare is a NO! Do not use any of that on your face, it's poorly formulated and on 90% of my customers who used said products, caused excessive dryness and even rashes. >:(
You may like all the uneccesary packaging and hoopla, but personally I believe a cosmetic line should be more focused on what's INSIDE the package then the outside. =/
&&& They stiffed me on my last two commission checks. Hate them.

I also don't like Proctor and Gamble, for personal reasons. My grandfather invented two of their most profitable products: they stole them from him, many years ago, then settled with him out of court for a little over $40,000. They probably make that on these products daily.

Ewwwww I hate Red Robin too. They are just WAYYYYY too overpriced in my opinion. My bf and I ate there last week, he got a burger and a sprite or something, and I got a BLT and a water. That's it. Our bill was almost THIRTY DOLLARS. Plus, our waitress was slow as hell even though it wasn't busy.
I also hate subway, but I think it's more of the customers that go in there than actual subway itself. I hate being behind the idiot soccer mom that wants like 10 different subs, each with 5 tomatoes, 7 olives, and god forbid if the lettuce has a little brown spot on it. >:(
And maybe I'm alone, but I have had the WORST luck with Apple Ipod's. I've had 3 different models and they always freeze, break, or crack. They cut some songs off in the middle and Itunes always fucks up my computer. And they're expensive as hell, when I pay $300 for something, it damn well better work the way it's supposed to.

Sprint - despised them. Especially their 'spending limit' bullsh*t. Drove me insane!! I was always over it even if I made a payment.
TV Maxx - cable company...could only get that one company at one apartment complex I was at. Worst customer service, expensive rates and they keep billing me years later for a cable box they say I never returend (which I did, in person).
Progressive Insurance - screwed me on a vandalism claim years ago. Refused to pay for fuel injectors (sugar in the gas tank) and some of the labor because it wasn't authorized...even though they did everything before and after that without an issue. Cost me $1200 out of pocket. They may be better now but I refuse to go back to them.
Gerber Clothing - the onesies to be specific. They shrink unbelievably - you cannot even wash them.

Coach. Got one used so at least my money didn't go to the company itself but these high end bags are from China. So, hmm, probably not giving the people that make them very much of those hundreds of dollars a bag.
Wal-Mart. I bought something there recently as a sort of emergency and can't shake the guilt lol.
Luscious shoes. Break immediately.
Locally there is a restaurant near her that when we last went to they got my dad's order wrong and then the waiter got all snotty and argued with him about it. Food was bad too. Also I went to a coffee stand today and got something that was supposed to be a doubleshot mocha and it tasted like half of it was water.

Wachovia. They let my ex overdraw our joint account by $6000. Yep, you read that correctly. He took $6000 that we didn't have out of our account. How is this possible?!I called them and had the account frozen when it was at -$3000. I even went into our local branch to explain the problem and be sure the account was frozen. Not even a week later the account was -$6000. I had a personal saving account with them as well, and when I went to withdraw my money and close the account, they confiscated $6000 to cover the negative balance in the joint account. I hate them.
We also had a joint loan for around $3500. I swear they will never see that money. They won't get another penny from me, to hell with my credit report. Wachovia is on my shit list for sure.

Well, not necessarily a product, but there is a restaurant in the French Quarter in New Orleans called Maximo's. I will not ever eat there because a few years back I worked in a hotel and the owner would call to make reservations and he was a giant ASSHOLE to the nth degree. I'd rather starve than eat there. I don't even know if he even owns it anymore, but it ruined it for life.

lexmark printers.
years ago i thought i would be savvy by buying replacement ink syringes to inject into my lexmark printer instead of buying replacement cartridges. after the printer kept fucking up my more computer-savvy friend told me that lexmark puts something in their printers so that refillable ink syringes can't be used, thus damaging the printer--ON PURPOSE!

Hi AznExtasy,
My grandfather invented "Easy Off" and "Cling Free" --he had a small chemical company in Chicago all those years ago. P&G ripped off the formulas and changed only the original "Oven Off" (grandad's name) to "Easy Off"... After a lot of legal back and forth they settled out of court. It was a lesson on the dark side of American capitalism. Though my grandfather did well with other formulas, including perfumes, he really took a hit from P&G. I know I don't make much of a difference, but for his memory I don't buy from them: I also trust NO one in business myself.

It is an old story with inventors--an army of lawyers teems up against you and you realize you won't win, you'll spend yourself into oblivion, and ultimately don't know how the product will do anyway; you settle for (the equivalent of) a couple of hundred thousand dollars. So my grandad did the best he could with the situation. But I think it stands as a lesson to all of us--that there are legions of people out there who would like to profit on our efforts, and in any business it is worth protecting ourselves as best we can. I had the same thing happen to me when I was a young songwriter in Nashville--trusted people I shouldn't have...and people used my efforts to their gain.
Live and learn--and remember--a good motto to live by!
Gold's Gym deserves a big fuck you! I just got a bunch of bills from them after I called and told them to cancel my membership because I moved.
Yup! those fuckers did the same thing to me, the only difference is that when i called to cancel they told me i had to go in & sign some paper, so i did. But months later i noticed these fuckers were still charging my credit card, then after i canceled my card they had the nerve to send me to collections. GOLD"S GYM IS DEF. FULL OF SHIT!!!!!

I actually used to work for Best Buy and they treat their employees like shit. They make minimum wage (maybe a little over) yet are expected to be knowledgeable about like, 100 products at any given time. Then expected to high pressure sell these products and the dumb ass extended warranties for no commission. The managers make commission and get bonuses even though they don't do jack shit except rip into the salespeople for not selling enough.
So glad I don't work there anymore, I don't shop there either. Frankly, as bad as it sounds, I'd rather buy my electronics from Wal-Mart.

^^ I work for Best Buy on the corporate side. It's always interesting to me to read experiences from the store employees. I've worked enough retail to know full well how bogus a lot of store environments can be. But overall, I have never in my life worked with so many hard-working people who really have a passion for what they're doing. Wow.
That said, BBY's biggest internal problem is that middle management, on both the corporate and retail side, tend to blow sunshine up executive management's asses where systemic issues are concerned. They'd rather pretend there's no problem (so as not to endanger their bonus) and put it on us to deal with the problem, rather than indicate that there is an issue and incur the cost in time and money to fix it. "Win with what you have!" is a big catch-phrase around the company, and it usually translates as "Suck it up because it's not going to change," or else "Do twice as much work with half as many resources."
I know that since I started, my workload has easily quintupled while our headcount remains the same.
But really, pretty much every corporation is like that. BBY's corporate environment is no screwier than any other I've worked in, and actually a LOT better than most. A lot of corporations (including ones I've worked for) make horrible decisions, like giving bonuses and promotions to people who should be fired, or laying off the workers while keeping the managers, or going through a repetitive cycle of hiring people and then laying them off the second the quarterly results aren't what was expected. (Which is actually an extremely expensive process to go through.) Look at Circuit City--they fired their 3400 top performers to "save money", then turned around and gave that money as an extra bonus to their outgoing CFO (who was outgoing in the first place because he sucked!). What a terrible message to send to your employees AND your customers. And Northwest Airlines, GOD, don't even get me started. 25% employee reduction, another 25% in pay cuts, bankrupt pension fund, outsourcing all the mechanics to Singapore, more millions in taxpayer-funded bailouts, raising fares and cutting out even on-board meals and peanuts, and the second they were out of bankruptcy, they gave MILLIONS of dollars in bonuses to the executives for "saving the company". FUCK THOSE ASSHOLES.
So to bring this extremely long-winded post back on topic, I won't fly Northwest because they SUCK SHIT for the above reasons and more.

I've had good experiences with my HP stuff (that's our designated vendor for work). However, to end up supporting Audrey's point, my previous HP laptop had a bug in the motherboard that ultimately ended up killing the machine. My home desktop (2-odd years old), work desktop (5 years old) and replacement work laptop haven't had any issues, though.
Every brand can be hit-or-miss like that, but the one I've heard almost nothing good about is Sony Vaio. Seems like every single person I ever heard who owned one had problems with it. The machines are wonderful for six months, then start crapping out.
