Elaborate on WHAT ? What part didn't you understand ? it's what has been REPORTED in the N.Y. Times and elsewhere. If you want to kill a messenger; go after them.
Outline how you extrapolated statements from "the N.Y. Times and elsewhere" in order to arrive at:
Every black who is otherwise conservative is voting for Obama anyway and has nothing to do with the fact that he's black ? And whites who are usually solid Dem voters who say there is "no way" they'll vote for Obama ? But they'd all let him marry their sisters. Right ?

Maybe I can put it in very simple terms:
Obama = "Oh shit a black man that is actually qualified and competent enough to make it to the White House? He has support everywhere? I'm excited to vote for him and this year I'm not going to be apathetic about the election and I am actually going to vote."
This is what's happening for black people. The dems have ALWAYS gotten 90-some percent of the black vote. Obama and caused even more blacks to vote for him because we are excited about the prospects of THIS PARTICULAR BLACK MAN becoming president. We don't just go, "DUUURRRRR... black guy runnin'? I'ma vote for him sho-nuff!"

Did you SEE those two little squiggly marks after the two sentences. They're called
QUESTION MARKS !!!!!!! Thus they were NOT statements of fact so much as QUESTIONS or caveats. A rhetorical device. Get it ?
Polls show Obama getting near unanimous Black support. That's what they are saying. If you don't like it. please take it up with the pollsters.
Many news reports indicate that some repeat SOME Hillary voters say ( quoted in the article ) or have said to others ( who get quoted) that they won't vote for Obama because he's black. I didn't say it. I didn't tell them to say it. I don't like that there are STILL people in this country that feel that way. I didn't write the G-damn articles for crying out loud. You can read em in the N.Y. Times; Newsweek; U.S. News.
They talk about the "Bradley effect" where whites polled say they are voting for a black candidate but don't actually pull the lever. There is also a reported "reverse Bradley effect" where some Black Republicans are saying they're voting for McCain but secretly say otr that they'll vote for Obama and even some blacks who PUBLICLY support Obama but privately express doubt and or a willingness to vote for McCain.
News-Flash: Obama would NOT be where he is NOW without strong black support that SHIFTED from Hillary to him and even more white support.
I've had enough of this. Either work on your reading comprehension or go back to pulling the wings off flies.

^ Thanks, Mr. Stoner, for your valid observations and thorough explanation. I respect you for abandoning the sneering and presenting your rationale lucidly.
For what it's worth, you present as a reasonable and well-informed guy when you take the time to trace your logic without projecting your innate (and presumably justified) sense of superiority...

Well then let me say, as HUMBLY as possible : If you're happy, I'm happy.

Exactly. I get so irritated when people say people are only voting for him because he's black. By that same logic why doesn't Alan Keyes get many votes? Because he's an idiot regardless of race. Keyes is great proof that blacks don't vote just because a candidate is black.

I don't see how what she said implies that she hates the troops. I don't see how anything anyone has posted has insulted the troops. I think you're just doing the faux-outrage thing. Stop it.
I don't think she hates the troops, but my buddy the soldier, found her comment (Let me buy you a ticket to Iraq) which she's fond of saying, quite insulting to all the troops. A sentiment I agree with.
Budai's implication that my statement was based on my war, and his condescending remark about my friend, I found insulting. Which I will admit, pissed me off last night and let to some remarks I otherwise wouldn't have made. Although I don't see that as an excuse for anything he said.

You are such an IGNORANT IDIOT! But then you are also so stupid to make statements about Christianity and homosexuality.
I happen to be a cyclist....Cooliest thing I've looked forward too in a while is cycling down the coast with War Veterans....most who are missing limbs.
I also do the AIDS/Lifecycle ride....I'm the one who made sure a recent war veteran from Iraq raised enough funds so he could ride with his wife.
Fuck you and your IGNORANT STATEMENTS!!!
If anyone else called me an ignorant idiot, I might care.... slightly. Your previous statements which go so beyond anything 'idiotic' I might have ever said, preclude your from assing judgement on anyone else. "Republicans jsut want to kill innocent people".
Perhaps you love the troops and support them fully. But in my friend's eyes, and in mine, that "let me buy you a ticket to Iraq" in whatever context you want to throw it out in, is insulting to the troops that have gone of there and died or even gone.
Oh, and please, I'm stupid because I made statements about Christianity and Homosexuality? I'm pretty sure if I've posted anything about either of those it's been fact... Then again, if I said 'christianity is the worst thing ever', you would probably call me a genius. But again your previous statements keep you from passing judgement on people's intelligence.
