I'm just not sure why the club isn't paying him out of that $20 they get every time I grind on some old dude's boner. Or are they, and he wants tips on top of that?

Depends on the club. My club has no house fees but the DJ takes 10% of our earnings and bar staff gets 5%. To my knowledge, the DJ is a 1099 (independent contractor, usually not paid by the club), just as I am. So, in our case, the DJ isn't payroll club staff. But again I really don't mind doing this at my job because our club takes very little of what we earn ($5 from the first 10 dances we sell, and $25 off a VIP room) and that and the low prices make it easy for us to sell more dances & VIPs and make more money. Sorta everyone wins and everyone makes money. I have more of an issue giving 5% of my money to the bar, because I don't drink (including pop).

Probably your club isn't paying the DJ out of the exorbitant amounts of money you're making them, because they're exploiting their 1099s--the dancers, the DJs, the housemoms if you have them, etc. I see from your prev posts that you stay in Los Angeles... I don't know anything about dancing in L.A. but I can speak from experience in the Midwest that the DJ probably isn't being treated any better by the club than you are.
