I was just about to suggest Ann Taylor Loft until I clicked over to their site...looks like it's tunic central there too....:-\

on the otherhand, White House Black market seems to be boycotting the tunic trend, and they even have some good deals (IMO) in the sale section

^ K that's the exception then (to ahmeerah's post). ;D The thickness of the boot helps to balance out the hips. Paired with a big comfy sweater that could make a cute fall outfit. In SD at least!

it just seems that pretty much EVERYTHING, even target, is crap, disposable clothes. i wear them once or twice, decide i hate them or they lost their shape and are garbage.

id rather dress down and look like crap in a really really nice pair of jeans and a tshirt than wear disposable wet seal clothes and look "trendy." nothing is working for me these days.

On a everyday basis, that is the look I'm running with for now. I'm going to buy more premium jeans (although the prices are getting outrageous- I'm not falling for that argument even though I have to buy them at those prices) and some well-made, super soft fitted cotton tees. (James Perse type)

Those fucking dresses make me look like I'm 2 feet tall and 6 feet wide. So not cute. I tried a couple of them on on a whim, and it was a total disaster.

No shit. I can never find any form fitting clothes anymore, my friend says they make clothes for bigger girls now because so many younger girls have stomachs.
:-\

That's exactly what I've noticed. I unfortunately live only a few blocks away from a high school AND middle school so I've seen this growing trend, and it's not perdy. :O

^^^ It's pretty sad. We came of age at JUST the right time. I keep wondering how the kids today are going to look when they hit 20ish.

I've found I have to spend more $$ at boutiquey type places over dept. stores or others that make clothes for the masses, in order to find fitting clothes. I'm a perfect size 6 and I feel like everything is either a size 0 or 10+ lately.

^^ I could make the same thing in 5 minutes. Just take a tablecloth and cut holes for the arms and head.

Yuck, I never have and never will purchase ugly gladiator sandals. I think they're called gladiator sandals because they are for damn gladiators.

I'm not going to lie, I love the gladiator sandals, usually I prefer the heeled type but those in the blog look cool. I haven't bought any and probably won't.

lol OMG I hate shopping and hardly ever wear "girly" clothes but am totally offended by being inundated with waist-less clothing. WTF? This suits almost no one. And girls who buy clothing because it's fashionable without examining whether it suits their body type/fat level? Deserve to look like shit, really. ::)

And as for young girls with bellies what is with that? I'm slightly overweight at the moment (ha, probably very overweight if I were a stripper) and despite going up two sizes have exactly the same problem where anything that fits my thighs/arse is 2-4" too big around my waist. Um, OK, I'm glad I don't have those proportions??

I refuse to wear anything waistless flat-out. It looks fucking terrible to me! I understand the fiscal logic in designing clothes for girls with tummys since so many people are overweight these days, but it's just not hot! Quite frankly, all this baggyness just looks lazy and unkempt to me.

Personally, I love American Apparel because so much of their stuff is fitted and good looking, but I'm looking at some of their winter stuff right now and even they are starting to get a few baggy options. Most of the stuff though (especially the dresses) is still fitted, thank god.

As for pants, I won't wear non-skinny jeans. Anything with any sort of flare just makes me look shorter than I already am and boot cut looks like crap on me too. The downer is that when I buy size 6 jeans, the waist is still 1-3 inches too big! So far as I can figure out, companies are cutting jeans for girls who have no waist. Alas, I actually have a waist that isn't the same size as my ass which means my pants are forever falling down.

I find it annoying that my clothes don't fit not because I'm too fat or too skinny to wear them, but because apparently the majority of American girls are shaped like fucking cylinders and thus the clothes are cut proportionate to them! I never had much of a problem with the fattening of America until I figured out it was fucking with my ability to look good. Once I realised my pants didn't fit not because of my ass but because of someone else's ass, I started loathing fat people.

I hate to admit this, but I found the hottest top in Easy Pickins(I use to shop there when I was in HS). lol.

It's one of those long types(not grandma'ish, loose, or bubble) tight around the ass & waist with a belt making my waist look smaller, a fall in the front to show off my cleavage. Wore it with black lycra tights. Loved it.

Go there, saw lots of cute shit this past wknd.

Downtown stores, is where it's at. 8) Just have to search, like hidden treasures.

This is the first year i started liking American Apparel. They have great fitted stuff.

i do'nt understand the cylinder shape either. Is this the muffin top thing? But -- iI can't imagine "fit models" being shaped like cylinders. I know a few fit models and they're proportioned perfectly. It's weird. Even stores like Express fit funny now. I used to wear their stuff perfectly in the early nineties. My measurements have only changed in the boobs. But their sizing/shaping is totally different now.
