If you carry around a riding crop, there's always going to be some dumb ass guy who is going to grab it from you and hit you with it. Most guys do NOT like being the ones pushed around.
Seriously, you need to find better clubs with better clientele. You work in clubs with some very violent men. That kind of thing never happened to me and I never saw it happen to other girls. Maybe they just want to abuse YOU.:D
The guys I came in contact with weren't thinking about how to hurt a stripper and plotting on ways to do so the whole time they were in the club. In fact, the only male on stripper violence I saw was when a stripper and a guy got into it and the guy pushed the stripper over the bar. They were both drunk though and he got his as WHOOPED by the bouncers and some of the other customers.

I worked in a club with a girl who used to bring a riding crop on stage and have guys hit her with it. It SUCKED having to go up after her, I had to dodge ass slaps and grabbing the whole set.

Part of the reason I find this idea so stupid is that I used to work in professional BDSM, and it's considered common knowledge to NOT combine any sort or slapping play (or any other BDSM play) with alcohol. It's bound to lead to problems.
Believe it or not, you can get injured from someone hitting you too hard on your butt if they hit you in the wrong spot. Just FYI.

Well, they asked if they could, but never took it that far. I get the impression that you work in a rough club, or at least one with mostly a young cliental. Have you considered a new place? Every club is going to have a few bad apples, but not every club attracts and caters strictly to ass holes.

I'd just like to point out that even the OP said in her experience the guys were hitting hard. It's not just Viola.
Of course it's going to get abusive at some point. When any drunken idiot can come through to the door lay down his $20 and hit a girl, of course you're going to get hurt sometimes. Duh.

Not true in my experiences. I agree that maybe it's the atmosphere you have been working it. That stuff goes over great where I was because it was out of the ordinary. Standing out makes money in the business. Believe it or not a good amount of men love being pushed around every once in a while. It's different for them and exciting. ^_^

^^That's not true. Where are you getting that?
Oh wait, I read again. Yeah, they are allowed to hit you are hard as YOU want. What's the problem with that?
Also, I would think that in private the chances of abuse are higher because no one else is around. On stage, if it gets out of hand, there are a lot of pole (bouncers, manager, etc) who can step in immediately.
I disagree. In the back, while there may be a facade of privacy, the "rules" are always in place, and you are in control. A bouncer SHOULD be no farther than a yell or hand-signal away from helping you.
On stage, however, or even on the floor, with a group of people, the mob mentality kicks in. You know how the crowd goes wild for you during certain stage sets, and your money keeps getting better and better during your time onstage? That's partially because everyone is feeding off of each other's positive attitudes. However, there is a danger of this "mob mentality" going in the opposite direction, where it can end with guys getting out of hand because other dudes are cheering them on.

I agree. It just seems like putting the girls in a potentially bad situation. I don't think the girls are stupid for doing it, but I think the club is being irresponsible.

I agree that the type of club could really determine the situation. I imagined my customers doing this and I imagined it as play. I also know with things like this- as with anything in dancing, I guess, a split second could determine traumatic experience. You can say to the crowd, don't do this. Be gentle. And one asshole can hit as hard has he can and your ass swells and bruises and people laugh and you are in some serious pain and then you feel humiliated. That humiliation happens in a split second and you might be feeling it for a long time. Now, that is true with a lot of things in dancing and that's why it isn't for the weak of heart. I had a until-then nice guy twist my boob so hard in a lap dance out of nowhere and I am still pissed about it. Had that one motherfucker sneak in and touch me before I knew what was coming. Now I know how to keep hands away from dangerous places. FOR ME PERSONALLY- this kind of thing would open me up to too much possible bad shit and that one time would set me off and I would feel triggered.
I can see how this could be worked out, as well. I think some guys would be paying for the show-off of just being on stage, slapping a big ass in front of their friends and most customers I've had wouldn't take it so far as to hurt a girl. Paying the twenty for the theater of it more than the actual hard hit. But I have very limited experience so I have no idea. If the object is to hit harder than the last guy, I can see this being bad for some girls.

I love it how Viola's valid opinion has become her personal problem where something is wrong with her and she needs to consider a new club. Fuck that. There are assholes in every club and they come in big numbers sometimes. Quit yelling hysteria and give her some credit for her opinion.

We aren't calling it her "personal problem" we are just making an observation. No one anywhere is "yelling hysteria". I plainly said that I understand whay she is saying but just saying that maybe she shouldn't be so rude and one sided about it. And saying that maybe the club or area she is int isn't meant for her to be working in if that is the enviroment she has to work in. We aren't picking on her. Chill. Stating opinions just like you her and everyone else are. It is just a simple debate no biggie.

I would like to state again that this was all in good fun. They only do it on amateur night I don't think they do it with their regular girls. Its for the amateurs can make some extra money.

You are retarded. I have worked at over 50 clubs, and now work at one of the nicest in the South. You are such a weirdo to make a comment like that.

First of all, take a deep breath. Did you read my other posts? I have agreed with her - people are violent. Guys like hitting, girls like hitting, and some people like to be hit. I used the riding crop as an example that favored her opinion, actually.
It wasn't untill she mentioned a customer taking it and using it on me that I was like, "Whoa, that never even crossed my mind. I guess I work in a pretty safe club." It wasn't meant to be patronaizing, or cheapen her opinion. I do agree with her!
I can see both sides of it. Drunk guys, frat boys and straight up ass holes will turn a slap into a punch and think it's hilariouse, and brag about it later. While other groups would just have fun with it, egg and cheer each other on to get on stage and do a small smack.
But some customers will take anything too far. If there's a deal dance some customers will wait forever untill it comes on while others just think it's a lucky treat. Any discount nights and they'll try to haggle the price instead of planning their trip accordingly. Allow a guy to touch legs and his hands are on your ass and not respecting the rules. There are just jerks that will abuse and contort absolutely everything. They shouldn't be the majority, but some places - and bad nights - they just are. And there are entire clubs that enable and promote these attidutes. But they shouldn't get to jade us. And ruin the fun for good customers.
It's a thin line to walk between what's acceptable for the right price and what's degrading and uncomfortable. But we all draw our own, whether it's a club promo, how much contact to allow or whatever.

I also work in a safe club, but it's not like they do background checks on the guys who walk in. I would not do anything that would involve me trusting a customer to hit me, or carry an implement to hit a customer for fear of pissing someone off. People are psychos whether you work at the Penthouse Executive Club or Jumbo's Clown Room.

I really like what you said in this post. It's concise but thorough. It really hits on the important points that seem to be getting lost in the thread.

She's not picking on you, in particular. There are simply a lot of posts with girls insinuating that VS must work in a bad club to have this assumption about customers. It's a very presumptuous thing to say, and I think it's idiotic: I currently work in a very strict and safe club. That doesn't mean I've never worked in a bad club before, or seen the ugly side of the human psyche. Just because it wouldn't necessarily happen in your current club, couldn't you see it happening in others?
I understand that you were agreeing with her, but I'm trying to explain why some of us see the "you should find a different club" comments as presumptuous, rude, and irritatingly obtuse.
