I work at a $5 dollar dance club and the guys are as cheap as it gets!
However you make double, sometimes triple the money you would in any other high priced club.
It's just funny when the guys expect a lot for a $5 dollar dance. Like a $5 dollar dance is 30-60 seconds, topless only, with dancer-directed contact only, so they get what they pay for, and they get angry when you finish the dance ("why don't I get a full song?"), they get angry when they can't touch you ("other clubs let you touch the girls") and they get angry when you don't take off your clothes ("but I paid to see pussy dammit!").

Yeah right. Only a rip-off for the losers expecting more.
From the dancers point of view, $5 dollars to touch a disgusting freak (most of the custy's are as the club is in a bad area), and to have them touch you is way to little.
And by "freak", I mean hobos who beg all day to save up their $7 dollar cover charge, a few $5 dollar notes just to touch a woman's tits. Like I'm not even joking, we have homeless men at the club along with the normal guys, so $5 is a little underpriced, if they charged a bit more (like $10 a dance, or even upped the cover charge), the hobos would go, and the girls would give full song dances with a bit more contact.

I believe cadenceq is from Austrailia. They tend to base their dance prices more in minutes as opposed to songs down there.
But do the math and on a per minute basis, its roughly the same money as here in the states.

Yeah I know where she works. It's in Australia and $5 is the smallest note we have. Doing a $1 dance means coins.
So.. $5 for 30 seconds about of dancing. It's pretty known in the club it's a sample. You can only DO the dances while you're topless (15 minutes after your stage set) ANYWAY. It's like going around for tips but with little shimmies.
Also, I'd like to point out - $1 AUD, 60 cents USD... so really the 30-60 second lapdance is $3.
So really... 45 seconds x 5 = one song. $3 x 5 = $15 per song, USD.

with dancer-directed contact
I hate it when the dancer directs the contact, I feel used and abused. I am not a sex object, I am a person with feelings. :-[

LOL...Oh ok thanks for clearing that up

Yeah, I should have cleared that up a bit better for all the US people, thanks Lysondra. ( :
$5 dollars for 30 seconds here in Oz works out to about $15USD per song, so it's actually pretty reasonable, an put it this way, if a customer hands over $15-20 we give a full song and remove the g-string usually.

I like the place. If you can get your hustle own pat and talk custy's into privates, you an pull a good 2k a week, so I enjoy my club quite a lot.

how do you make 2-3 times as much as you would make at a regular club when your clientel is hoboish and cheap?
i worked at a club that attracted cheepos once and even though it was busier than the more expensive clubs the most i ever made there was 500 bucks

Dude. If you theoretically made no stage money, that's 100 dances. That's a minimum of 300 minutes of solid dancing. FIVE FREAKING HOURS. That's my whole shift, start to finish!
I'm cool with $500. But five SOLID hours of dancing? Do. Not. Want.

Uhh, you guys did get this part, didn't you?
Like a $5 dollar dance is 30-60 seconds
Which means roughly four of cadence's dances = one dance as we know them in the states. So figure:
45 seconds = $5
3 minutes = $20
60 minutes = $400
5 hours = $2,000
And likely not continuous. Same loaf of bread. Just thinner slices.

Yeah, and I work 8 hr shifts, so the money is very easy.
As well, the clients may be cheap, but we have a lot of clients, and I can hustle and get some good private dances too.
And doc_catfish is right, I definetly don't work continuous, and still get my 2 grand a week off 3 nights work. Though by your maths doc, if I did work just a fraction harder (like even just 1 hr more of continuous work), I could easily make a truckload more, cos on a general night I probably have about 3 hrs wasted time anyway.
