It is no different in the USA, my daughter doesn't qualify after 14 major reconstructive surgeries, months out of school for anything besides childrens special health care services and thats just extra added medical insurance, denied for what you fought for, for 10 years due to her not having brain damage. even though her condition has not changed, has gotten worse, has been corrected again. It's insane. My last reimbursement check for mileage with gas at the time being 4 almost 5 a gallon, driving 5 hours to her specialist, staying in a hotel for two weeks was 35 whopping dollars. What angers me is if, she was a crack addict they would just send her a check no questions asked. I feel the same way I was young and begged them to help me, they spit in my face so, I do what I have to do. I have tried the normal job FMLA doesn't cover you when you need to take 6 to 8 months off, they find a reason to fire you so they don't have to pay. I came out of retirement, I hung up my heels for 2 years and now oral surgery, craniofacial surgery is creeping again. I can't be on a schedule or get fired for whatever bogus reason they come up with and yes I could sue.. but with everything I have to do for my daughter it is not worth wasting my time fighting in court when she needs me. I have to say sometimes I am a bit jealous of the women who have medically healthy children and when they complain I want to lose it but I bite my lip and just remember no matter how bad my situation is to me, theirs is just as bad to them.
What do you mean "If she was a crack addict they would just send her a check"?
Either way, our government should take way better care of all of its citizens, disabled or otherwise.

I don't really have a nightly average goal because it depends on the nights I work. I usually work 3-4 shifts a week and aim for $2,000-$2,500/week. Preferably after tax.
Mon-Tues $200-$300
Wed, Thurs, Sun $400 - $600
Fri, Sat $700 - $1200
We all have good weeks and bad weeks. As long as I'm still averaging $2000/week minimum I'm happy.
My living expenses are also very high.

*facepalm* sometimes I forget that not everyone has $800 rent for a two br duplex. If you live somewhere expensive (where dances are also more expensive) those numbers make total sense! Duh.;D

i find that my standard of "i would not work for less than $____" has consistantly gone down for the past 3 years. times are hard.

LOL Yep I live in a 2 bed terrace. Tiny little thing. My rent is $2,200 a month. No utilities are included. I pay water, gas, electricity and all my luxuries on top of that. Sooo many other expenses. Sydney is an expensive city. But I love it!

'Some things like drug addiction, pardon me I am very jaded by the system.
These things will get one instant temporary disability.

Things have changed, and I have no wish to deal with any of it anymore, it was hell and lots of red tape. I would rather shake my ass than beg the government.
My state of residence is Michigan.. that probably has a ton to do with it.
Michigan, the wasteland of the United States with the highest unemployment rate in the Country.

my point was only that crack addicts do not instantly get benefits in those three states, that i know of through personal experience. they have the same red tape and hell as any other poor person (if they are even poor to begin with, not always the case).

the poll is closed, but I would say 200. If I made no more than 200 every single night I might look into gogo dancing or waitressing... Getting naked all night and dealing with the men and the issues that goes with dancing wouldn't be worth it for less than 200. Of course, these nights happen, but if that was all I made for a long period of time, I would change clubs and if it continued I'd take it as a hint my time was up!

My cousin had a serious issue with crack addiction, she worked in the health care profession after she kicked the habit, and that is not an addiction I would wish on anyone and it is debilitating, that is an easy cut and dry yes we will help you get rehabilitated rule at least here when the panel of doctors gets together to say, yes or no. What sucks, is after she worked so hard to get her life turned around, she was diagnosed with a bone disease, now she is on oxy for pain and she is ticked, she worked so hard to get off the stuff she was on to just be put on new stuff. Sometimes there are no win situations and when it comes to dealing with the Government, it sometimes is a no win situation. I am sorry, if I came off like I was targeting crack cocaine and congratulations on your recovery.

I envy all you people who are even ale to go with $200+ (especially you $500 people...)
First club, left a 9 hour shift with.... $70... $60... $7!!!!! 12 hour shifts with no more than $170 (as low as $50). And quite clearly I quit.
Recently, left a 10 hour shift with $70, at what was supposed to be one of the better clubs in the area (and I actually made more than most of the other girls).
My usual goal at my previous club was $100 during the week (6 hr) and $200 on weekends (8 hr). Nights when I left with $40-$60 (and some girls $20, or not even able to make tipout), and several weekends when I only made $100 in a night.
Upstate NY can suck my nuts! All the clubs around here are like this. Once I come back from MD for holidays, I'm hanging up my heels. Taking em out for travel purposes from time to time.

I've done dances for 10 bucks, and I've done two for ones. Provided that they keep there hands to themselves and aren't complete assholes.
No less than $500 thank you very much.
Though if it's REALLY dead, I'll settle for $300-$400.

damn all you people and your 1000s! I've had to get used to pulling like 250$ a week (4-5 7hour shifts a week) at home! I'm trying to get through school now, I have to travel to make money and it sucks! -._-.

Its been shocking this week. Last night I made $30 profit, tonight Ive done $50 so far. Its been so quiet! The top earner last night made $100 cos she had a regular who booked a dance and tipped.
Hope it picks up after xmas!

I only work mid shifts now during the week (4pm-9pm) and have been averaging at least $100 a night. It's lame. i would work nights but there are way too many girls. I recently picked up a cocktailing job at a strip club as a second income and tips aren't that great. I wish it was 3 years ago when I started dancing and I was actually pulling good money... :(

Though i've had nights when i've made less, I definitely on average need to make 500+ on weeknights and 1000+ on weekends (no less than $800)... The cost of living is very high in my city/state.

A weeknight I would accept $400+ and a weekend night I expect $1000 but won't be too upset if I make $800+
