Enough sleep is a must. 8+ hours!
Water, multivitamin.
Getting laid regularly.
An occasional Sephora splurge.

I agree with you there Belle. SLEEP is the one major beauty thing people often over look. It is ESSENTIAL that you get 8 hours of sleep for your body to propperly repair itself from the days wear & tear. And if you a princess, it is MANDATORY that you get no less than 12 - 13 Hours of sleep!

Oh yea, and the multi-vitamin is another over looked thing. Come on gals...TAKE YOUR VITAMINS!!!!!

Liquid form if you can get'em!

I use my face wash on my butt to prevent booty pimple and keep the skin soft!

^ I do that too! When I remember I'll use my anti-blemish apricot scrub on my bum, keeps my skin soft and even!

^ Instead of doing that, you may want to try using a pumice stone. They're super cheap. Ever since I've started using one (on everywhere but my face), I've stopped getting the pimples that I used to get from the club.

So just take a shower when you get home, scrub all over your body with a pumice stone (they cost like $3), and you'll stop getting those annoying/unnattractive butt pimples! I swear by this, because I have sensitive skin, and the club used to make my body break out all of the time.

i know a lot of you will disagree with this, but i say "not tanning". i think if i look younger than my actual age... that's probably the biggest (controllable) factor.

Yes! Tanning beds are a killer.

I know Carmex was mentioned, but LipMedex is another good one too.

Also - NO OVER -EXFOLIATING. I promise, it's so possible. It will make you look splotchy and peel-y which looks even worse under makeup. Don't dry yourself out trying to look smooth!

I love a little toothpaste on pimples overnight. Always works for me.

Also, for smooth skin, grind up PLAIN oats (like Quaker oatmeal style but not the instant strawberry crap. haha.) and grown sugar. add a teensy but of honey, and some grapeseed oil. Keeps my skin super smooth and stroke-able ;-)

My absolute #1 best beauty secret thoug is hair maintenance. I am CONSTANTLY getting complements on my hair. I know its a pain, but if you can manage to style your hair with a blow dryer rather than flat ironing it, all the better. THe more heat on your hair, the worse.

Trim those split ends whenever they pop up. I use a deep conditioner once a week as well ( just leave in for 5 mns in the shower).

Blue Mascara. Maybelline sells the best inexpensive royal blue mascara ever! It flatters every eye color and since it's not as heavy as black mascara, you can get away with more coats of it.

NICE i knew i just bought a tube for a reason!

My #1 tip is to get your bikini area lasered! Sooo many girls ask me how I keep the area so smooth lol. I did keep a little landing strip, but if I ever wanted to be totally bare I could just shave it off temporarily.

Lotion. Lotion, lotion... it dosen't matter what kind or what you like or what works for you. Believe it or not, a woman shows her age in her hands faster than she does her face.

Lotion ladies.

Lotion with sunscreen;)

This probably goes along with retinioids, but Tazorac, I cannot live without. Fights my lines and any kind of acne from the smallest little blemish to the icky under the skin ones. It stops them from ever coming up through the skin, therefore no scarring.

Also, olive oil for my hair.

Thank you for this! I had been breaking out alot and I have only done the mask twice and already my skin is so clear. It exfoliates too!

Thanks anacol and BoxOfPandora for helping me find the right aspirin!

Use tinted self tanner to create body contours and enhance curves.

Just like you can use makeup on your face to play up or down certain features or to create balance, you can do the same thing with self tanner. Use it to create the look of fuller breasts by tanning the skin around the breasts and keeping the breasts pale, especially the tops of the breasts. Ditto with butts. Basically, anything you want to appear smaller, tan it. Anywhere you want to appear fuller, leave it pale.

This is an old body builder trick, using dark tanner to make 6 pack abs pop, or creating more definition where there wasn't any.

You have to use the tinted self tanner and makeup sponges to get a feel as to how the tan will look once applied. It totally creates a nice illusion of contours especially in club lighting.

To make your legs look thinner, and create the appearance of muscle tone, try this trick. Apply your favorite gradual self tanner like you normally do, except every other day apply the same tanner on just the inner part of your thighs/legs. The slighty darker shade makes your legs look long, toned and fab!

Don't over-wash your face or hair.
It's a lot easier to remove excess oil than it is to add moisture and repair damage.

Just make sure you girls don't use this sal acid too often. Because you have to remember that's what it is, ACID. Your feet has thick skin but like with anything, that skin thins out over a period of time. Also as you get older your skin over your entire body thins out automatically. I don't use any of that for my feet. The only way your feet gets rough any way is through wearing high heels alot and walking bare foot. It you keep soft socks on all the time and keep your feet moisturized you won't have that problem.
I don't even get pedicures. I stopped because it seemed like everytime I went my feet would get dried out really quick and feel horrible. SO I stopped going and just give myself a pedicure and use soft products and clip my toe nails and remove any dead skin. Since I've been doing that I don't have feet problems at all plus I sleep in these POODLE HAIR SOCKS which feels amazing. When I get up, I keep my socks on and put my slippers over them so my feet stay protected. If you do this, your feet will look and feel wonderful without having to spend money at the salon nor having to buy a harmful product to put on your skin. That's the advice I have on the foot situation. :)

Beer rinses on my hair every two weeks. The yeast and hops is good for your hair.

I don't tan. I've only ever had a handful of sunburns. I'm 27 and get pegged for 20-23 all the time.

No sugar.

Two avocados a week! They are so good for your skin, nails and hair.

A diet low in sugar/dairy helps clear the skin; also GREEN TEA. I've been drinking lots of it lately and have noticed an improvement in my skin. Beware of the caffeine though.

Dabbing grapeseed oil on injured zits causes the swelling to go down...and if you do this before bed, they should be markedly healed (and no longer oozing...ew) when you wake up! Plus, grapeseed oil is really inexpensive.

Flax seeds! Roast them with a bit of olive oil/sea salt, and sprinkle them on everything! They're delicious and really add to the flavor of most dishes (like salad, tuna salad sandwiches, etc. etc.). Flaxseeds are super healthy for you and help your entire body (they contain tons of fiber, protein, antioxidants, Omega 3's, etc.) They make me eat less since their fiber fills me up. I personally don't lose weight (I'm a muscley girl), but I know other people do!! They make a great mindless snack for TV watching and whatnot.

If you don't like drinking water (I hate drinking flavorless water), find something to add to it to make it more palatable. I personally love adding a few drops of lemon juice (vitamin C) to each cup, but you can also use peppermint extract and similar. Water is great for your entire system.

Switch to using re-usable feminine products; like the Divacup. No more odors, and no more needing to change tampons that fill up quickly. I'm never going back!

Flaxseeds FTW! I would feed ground flax seed to my dogs & their skin & coat would get so soft & shiny.

Similar with human consumption, although it's hard for your body to break down whole flax seeds.

I put ground flax seeds in my oatmeal & I substitute it for some of the flour when I make things like banana bread. I generally get Bob's Red Mill Ground flaxseed meal (http://www.bobsredmill.com/org.-brown-flaxseed-meal.html). If you buy ground flaxseed, it's good to keep it in the fridge & in a dark container/opaque bag- the omega 3 fatty acids break down quickly when exposed to light & heat.

But, whole flax seeds are still beneficial and tasty. I haven't tried them toasted and sprinkled on a salad or maybe in a pilaf, but I'm going to try Charlie61's suggestion to toast them and use them in salads and maybe in pilafs.
Thanks!

Dubbing off knp's question on "your #1 diet tip..."

Whats your most #1 "BEAUTY" tip, that keeps that body of yours in the most stripperesque form it can possibly be????

For myself, I would have to say my MOST #1 tip is....

Improvment on self esteem & confidence.

Because without these....you might as well hang it up. No one is going to talk to the girl that looks like she has down syndrom..simply becuase she always walks with her head down.

If you add these two things to your normal beauty regimen...everything else is game! ;)

Agreed. Clean up your mind, and pursue intellectual interests, not because you are trying to be someone else or trying to fit a mold, but pursue what is right for you. Every mind is different. If your mind is happy, you will look good. Get rid of issues. Learn to control yourself and your life.

That's my #1 tip.

It's not healthy to wash your hair that many times a week. That can make your hair very dry and brittle. It also strips your hair and scalp of all the natural oils that's made to keep both your hair and scalp healthy. The norm is one time a week but most women put so much product in their hair that clogs their scalp and makes their head dirty that's why they wash their hair so much. Which isn't good to do neither. Also a good tip for hair products is to use only natural products. No products with chemicals, sulfates, etc in them. You won't find these products at beauty stores, you need to go to Whole Foods or Central Market. That's where the oils, shampoos and conditioners should be bought from. Trust me, I've been down the road of buying everything on the shelf from beauty stores and over time all that stuff damages your hair, but I wear my natural hair and natural products is all I use and my hair is beautiful. No breakage, no tangles, no thinning, nothing. :)

Yeah, your scalp is suppose to produce oils. You're just not suppose to wash your hair every single day because that defeats the purpose, right? It would leave your hair pretty dry and brittle, trust me I've seen the girls that wash their hair every single day and put heat to it every single day, it comes out very thin, damaged ends, dry, etc. The results are not pretty I can tell you that! No matter how much conditioner women think can repair that type of damage, it really can't. Their regimen of what they do they their hair needs to be changed. :D

^ Okay, to be more frank, if I go more than a day without washing my hair, my hair looks completely limp and oily and gross. I get it that hair has natural oils, but it isn't exactly socially acceptable. I'll take my slightly dry hair any day over greasy limpness.

But you are the only one that notices the greasiness. I'm quite sure no one can look at your hair and say "OMG you haven't washed your hair in what maybe 3 days"! LOL. Let's be real. But someone can notice brittle hair that's damaged. But whatever floats your boat, right? ::)

I have that same problem. Wicked oily scalp, really dry hair.

Try Wen, sold at QVC. My hair can last an additional day or two between washings, and if I end up washing it daily, it doesn't get dried out. I alternate that with various other shampoos and conditioners, mainly without any sulfates in them. The detergents are what dry your hair out so bad, especially with frequent washings.

Most people might disagree with me as I know my ideas don't fit with the mainstream ideas of health, but I'm really against sunscreen. Understand I'm not saying that I'm against the idea of protecting your skin, but rather than most mainstream sunscreens are full of nasty chemicals, parabens, etc. I don't use anything on my skin that isn't 100% organic and natural. No lotions, no chemicals, etc. I use mineral makeup powder as a skin protector but mostly I just don't go in the sun, never tan (tried a tanning bed a couple times, I will never do that again, it burnt the shit out of my skin and I was only in there 5 minutes), wear hats, big sunglasses, etc.

I just had to say something, but your race has nothing to do with how much oil your scalp produces. Everyones scalp produces oils, no matter what race you are. I love my hair to feel soft and moisturized and it grows extremely fast when my scalp has it's natural oils. I wash my hair maybe once a week or sometimes not at all. Because you're hair gets mostly thick and oily mainly by the products you use on your hair everyday. I don't really use anything on my hair so that's why I can go so long without washing it. Just thought I'd mention that.:)

I agree to an extent. You have to "train" your hair not to be oily. It takes a while to get used to not washing often, but the less you wash, it won't get so oily so fast. It's the same with your face, once I started using cold cream and moisturizer every day, I noticed my face just wasn't getting as greasy as quickly as it used to, it sort of balanced itself out. I think when you wash your hair all the time, your scalp feels like it "needs" to produce oil to help your scalp not get dry.

With that being said, everybody is different, and what works for me may not work well for you.

Though, generally speaking Caucasian hair produces more than African-American hair, hence the reference to race.

When I washed my hair every day, it would get oily without washing it for a day or two. Now that I only wash my hair once every two weeks or so, it stays pretty for a long time. I think washing it trains the scalp to over-make oil or something.

Definitely!

You are what you eat so I keep processed foods down to 5 or 10% and the rest is fresh and organic, nutrient dense foods.

Go for spray tans or self tanner but stay out of the sun.

Favorite beauty products: StriVectin eye cream, B5 twice daily on the face (lots of different companies make this).
