I probably won't see results for another two weeks atleast, I gained weight so I think that's why I am filling out my jeans more.

There is no way any product that claims to change the shape or tone a specific part of your body would work. Bodies don't work like that. You can't "spot target" with weight, and you can't use a supplement to boost your gluteal muscles without actually working them out.

Some girls who dance in Atlanta told me a while back to take liquid b-12 (the kind that goes under the tongue) and I did it and it worked. My ass is actually smaller now than in my Avavtar and I've been thinking about taking it again. I wonder if I could do b-12 and maca root without a bad reaction?

Okay, so it's only been a few days. I put on a pair of my favorite jeans that I haven't worn for a long time, almost a month I'd say.

I was like.. woah. These are almost tight! Not cut off your circulation tight - like a snuggle fit well tight. Now, these jeans fit me loosely before. Kind of saggy..

I'm thinking.. No way. Results this fast? Either that or I'm just getting fat. :D

I've been taking 2000mg of maca root lately. I have been working my butt out a lot too. Hey Crow, where are your before pictures? I guess I will be the only one ass out literally lol... It's no biggie. I will post more pics eventually. I just looked in the mirror and I see some change with my own eyes, but I don't know how the camera will see it! I have blisters all over my ass, so theres no way I will show pictures of that lol. I wore these size 5 shorts that were waaaay too tight they always do that (but they look soooo good!) how the hay do i get rid of those blisters fast? so I can work asap...

shorts gave u blisters? eek! i would find some shorts that flatter and fit lol dont go through that for a pair of shorts.

Lol i doubt it has an amazing secret technique thats not already on the net somewhere, squats/lunges and eating protein to build up your butt muscles I think are the proven techniques for getting more booty

Hrm, I noticed that Raysworld earlier advocated squats, lunges and deadlifts. I find this curious becuase these exercises will help to tone one's butt, but not necessarliy build it, as they do not isolate that particular muscle very well. Many women doing these will find that the bum will actually get smaller (as the fat is replaced by muscle) while their legs become thicker. Not usually the result they were looking for.

There are some exercises that are better suited to specifically target the glutes like donkey kicks and one leg raises. These along with limited cardio work on a stair climber would be better if the goal is to build a booty, vs. just toning one. (I guess the question is if you want a defined bum, or a badonkadonk. Heh)

You are certainly correct as diet does certainly play a role in booty building. You certainly want some fat (which is why it is best to limit the cardio) around the muscle if you want to build up the rear. I believe this is what the Maca Root is supposed to do ... promote fat cell growth. Which is supposed to be an alternative or an ehancement to other dietary methods.

One thing I will be curious about though is sustainability. I've seen cellulite creams which were clinically proven to work, so long as you kept using them. The unfotunately side effect was once you stopped using the cream the cellulite returned usually worse than it was in the first place. (Nice way for the costmetic company to ensure long term consumers I guess. *pffft*) Hopefully since the Maca is helping the body to promote fat growth, the results will be more sustainable. I'd be curious what the you ladies discover after your trial period is over and if you find your results were sustainable after you stopped taking the Maca. (Btw, has anyone tried rubbing the Maca root extract it directly on their bum, vs ingesting it orally?)

Less squats with heavier weights build muscle
More squats with light/no weights tone it

Squats has been the most reccomended excersise for the asssss (Thats from googling it and going on the fitness sites for recomendations..not my personal opinion because Im not an expert lol)
Lots of other excercises too though like the ones you said

For anyone interested:

Squats
Stick your butt out, bending slightly first at the hips (3 - 4 count), then at the knees, going down until your upper leg becomes parallel to the floor. (The idea is to simulate sitting back in a chair.) Your knees are not to extend past your toes. Aim for a 90-degree angle between your thigh and your shin. Do 8 - 12 repetitions per set, depending on your fitness and experience level.

Plie squats
With your legs in a plie-position — legs apart a little wider than your hip width, toes slightly turned out, and hands on hips — squat down to no farther than a 90-degree angle, making sure that your knee does not extend past your toes. Unlike the regular squat, you don't bend forward at the hips, just straight down. Do 8 - 12 repetitions.

Static lunges
Stagger your legs, one in front of the other, far enough apart so that your front knee does not go past your toe, forming a 90-degree angle (upper leg parallel to the floor) as you lunge forward. Allow your back knee to bend down to assist in lowering the body; it should approach, but not touch, the floor. The idea is to drop the back knee while the front leg stabilizes the back leg and the body. Switch legs and repeat. Start off doing 8 - 12 lunges per leg. As you advance, you can work up to 20 lunges per leg.

Hamstring curls
This is performed using a machine at the gym. Lying face down, position your body on the machine with your knees just below the edge of the pad and your ankles under the rollers. Knees need to be slightly bent. Press down with your hips as you slowly curl your heels towards your butt. Do 8 - 12 repetitions.


Walking up the stairs / walking on a treadmill on an incline or up a hill
Walking uphill uses all leg muscles, including the glutes. When walking on a treadmill, pick a speed that you are able to walk on a grade/incline of at least 2 percent; gradually work your way up in grade as your fitness level increases. For walking up stairs, similar to stairs at a stadium, use long strides, allowing your lower body to do the work while your upper body acts as a stabilizer; keep your abs tight and pump your arms. When walking down stairs, be careful not to allow all of your body weight to come down at once; this incorporates your lower body as well and protects your knees.


Front Lying Leg Lifts Lying face down, lift up one leg as high as possible. Hold for the count of five, and then return to the starting position, with the leg on the floor. Repeat with the opposite leg. Perform 2 - 3 sets of 8 - 12 repetitions for each leg. Be careful not to lift your chest off the floor. (This exercise may place stress on the lower back, so it's not recommended for persons with lower back problems.)

Kickbacks
On all fours (hands and knees), with weight evenly distributed, lift up one leg so that the thigh is parallel to the ground. Kick the foot back so that the leg is straight, with the foot directly behind the body. Bring the foot in, forming an "L" at the knee. Perform 8 - 12 repetitions, and then switch legs. Do 2 - 3 sets for each leg. Ankle weights may be added as strength is developed. Be sure to keep your weight evenly distributed between your hands and your knee that's on the ground.

I do all the butt exercises 3 times a week. I work my upper body twice a week. I do 30 minutes of cardio one day, an hour the next five days a week. I have been doing this for almost two weeks. I am still taking 2000 mg of maca root, I will admit I did forget a few times. I am trying to keep on track though.

I also noticed my curry powder seasoning had fenugreek listed as the second ingredient. Hmmm... I wonder if it's enough to do anything.

Thanks, I did stop taking it after I heard the news, but honestly if it weren't for friends telling me about it I wouldn't have known. I do watch the news, and they didn't talk about it that anytime I had the news on. I wonder if it affects almost everyone even the people that were taking it right. They need more news on it, because I am confused.

These are my after pics, I think it's been a month, I haven't been very consistent on taking the maca lately, I've been working out for two weeks... In person, I can tell a difference, but picture wise I think they look the same, but I am still working on it :)

I began taking maca on May 6th and will take pictures on June 6th just to see the difference. It hasn't done much for my butt that I can tell but my boobs got a little bigger. I have been working out like crazy so I don't know if my butt would get bigger or smaller from that, but I will post pictures on the 6th anyway just so you ladies can see for yourselves :)

dont do the getabiggerbutt.com I ordered that and all she tells you to do is work out your glutes (squats, deadlifts..etc) and eat products high in soy. A waste of money. She also tells you *gasping* to lose weight in your mid section to make your butt look bigger and to wear butt pads if you cant wait. Its a cheaply put together "book"
