Dancers always ask me what I do for a living; when I tell them I live off my investments they don't know what to think.
They don't know what to think? /:O I'd think, "Groovy. Let's go play now." Shrugs.

Maybe because what saying you "live off your investments" is quite vague.
Investments could mean property or nearly any type of biz you invested money in at some point in your life.
You basically seem like you are trying to gain some kind of respect for having extra money to invest in something with.
Totally arrogant.
I know that's right! I don't really give a hopscotch what a guy does, as long as he can afford the time I am giving him. I mean, "living off your investments" could mean that you are a landlord. Big deal.::)

^^^ I know, I was confused by that response as well. I think it's more likely they just don't care that much about the specifics. I know for myself, when I ask customers what they do for a living and they are vague or seem like they don't want to talk about it, I just move on to another subject.
