would she need his signature for the adoption? cause it sounds like he's saying "damned if you are, damned if you're not" and it would suck if you were all ready with the adoption process, and then ne exercised some kind of right and made you keep it.

^^^ Something she should definitely look into. I believe these laws vary. I don't think he can make her keep it though. Maybe he could demand custody for himself, but I don't think he can make her keep custody too.

i actually do think adoption may be a good option for this child, especially if it was adopted by a family member. however, he said that was not an option, he would raise it alone if he had to (but wouldn't want to). whenever i brought it up he got pretty mad and said that his kid would not be "given away."
If you do decide on adoption do look into the Canadian laws on this.
He doesn't have much of a say during the pregnancy, but I believe his rights increase once the baby is born- as in, if you wanted adoption and he wanted custody, his chances would probably be better than yours.
I recommend taking a look at this site, some good info: http://www.canadaadopts.com/birthmothers/index.shtml

Yes she would need the dads signature for an adoption, both parents have equal rights once the baby is born.
