I saw a Thai dancer saying a prayer. I thought it was really sweet & hopeful. She does decently, so I suppose believing in a higher power to guide you through the nite works.
aww that's actually really cute.
i do really bad when i work multiple days in a row. i go into stripper autopilot.
i do well when i take a nap in the middle of the day and/or go to bikram yoga or run before my shift.
this is weird but if i'm all supergross and in house-slob-reclusive-writer mode and then get all done up and ready juuust before a shift i like surprise myself with my own hotness and feel confident that night. lol
unfortunately i am learning that i do better when i have a coffee before work even though i try not to drink it every day. puts me in a silly mood and when i'm not taking things too seriously i always do better.
and -- though i love my coworkers -- i do better when i don't spend too much time in the back and work to get my first dance EARLY. ;)

I always listen to "On to the Next One" before I leave for work. It gets me into such a hustling mood.
And I do my hair+ makeup at home- I find the dressing room chatter can get me down sometimes if girls are negative about how the week has been, etc.

Drink a wawa vanilla cappucino, brush my teeth and take a gigantic shit before work. I do it every day. }:D Usually when I'm on twitter I'm busy taking a shit to pass the time.

Nights that I made top or close to it-
-Get started early(ish). I'm notorious for being fashionably late everywhere, so if I'm gonna be late anyways, I'd rather it be because I was having a good time at a leisurely pace instead of rushing because I waited till the last minute.
-SHOWUH! I don't know what it is about showers that make me so happy, because I hate an entire laundry list of things associated with showering, but it works! Not to mention, there's something about shaving that just automatically makes me feel sexier. Maybe it's that I'm a razorblade goddess and get a (NON-IRRITATED!) smoothness that lasts 2-3 days out of cheap single blades.
-Apply all lotions, potions, cosmetics and hair serums while nekked. I let my "fresh, clean and smooth" confidence spill over here and gain momentum with that "yeah, bish, you're sexy enough to walk around in nothing but a towel and not give a damn who's lookin'!"
-Play a little. Doesn't matter if it's with my neice when I'm at my family's place, the boyfriend at his place, the pets at either place, or just dancing about and being goofy for the sake of my own amusement. Seeing the snowball effect of happiness and confidence here?
-Let a positive some one else do the driving. It's almost like being chauferred ("Yeah boy! Diva's don't gotta drive!") while there's that extra opportunity to goof off and have fun on the way to work.
-Visualize. I do this right before I'm getting to work and sometimes during. I visualize myself enjoying whatever I'm making this money for. When it was a phone, it was taking silly pics on the camera to send to friends. When it was a dress, I imagined how hot I would look or how stunned my target audience would be. Mostly, I have one recurring one most frequently- laying in a bed, covered in various bills ranging from $5 to Benjamins, a la Rebecca Avalon.
Always with the music! From the time I hop into the shower to the time I step foot in the club, it is MY music. Some times that's some Sully Erna, A Perfect Circle, etc to focus on the slow way I prefer to dance. Some times it's Beyonce, Lil Wayne, etc to make start making me think about "the pimp life" that dancing helps me to achieve.

mine is really easy. I get to work early. I put all my stuff down in the dressing room, and then go to the bar and get a coffee, head back to the dressing room, and take my sweet time getting ready. I am ALWAYS on the floor on time.
Disclaimer: I work in a brothel, not strip club. Though, I do have many of the same concerns and questions as dancers do.
On my best nights (not with regulars), I have been in a great mood before approaching the potential customers. I get in a great mood by: pampering myself (nails, hair, makeup, clothes, massage, etc), giggling and having some fun with a coworker who I get along with, helping others, listening to music I like...
Also, I believe in this idea: the best time to make a sale is immediately after making a sale. When I'm walking my customer back out to the parlor after our session together, all the other men are looking at me. It's this primitive urge of wanting the girl who is desirable. Men want to be with the most desirable girl, and if they witness another man spending money on her, it seems like they are more likely to spend money too.
Other things I do: work out before my shift (yoga, cardio... I feel like I'm floating on water after my workout. No one can bring me down. I've got tons of energy and feel incredible and confident! SMILE! Be willing to invest a bit of time in people before expecting them to drop thousands on me. Be gracious and polite when the guy is a prick/cheap/insulting.
And the biggest thing that works for me on my best nights: DON'T talk to the other girls who are just bitching about cheap guys and the place being slow. Shit, I could have one customer spend $5k on me for less than 3 hours of work and there could be no other customers in the place all day. Of course, the other girls will be bitching about not making money. If you're going to hang around the other girls, deliberately choose to spend time with the girls who are making money! Ask them for advice, give them some of your advice, get each other revved up.
Another rule of sales: the 80/20 rule: 20% of the salespeople are making 80% of the sales. The bottom 80% of earners are only making 20% of the sales and that's why they are so miserable, bitchy, negative, and have so much free time to criticize and hate on the successful girls. The bottom 80% of earners tend to hang out in packs (so as to validate one another) and typically have no life, no money, no goals, and are not people worth wasting your time on. Observe the girls who make bank and when you have free time, converse with them. People talk about not wasting your time on customers who don't spend money.. well, then don't waste your time on girls who aren't helping you improve yourself. ..

I get ready at home where I can get my positive mindset without DR negativity around to f with it. I make some coffee & set up my getting-ready-space complete with makeup stuff, mirror, and my laptop.
I'm a total nerd: I put together an album in iPhoto on my mac that is full of pics of stuff that motivates me. (Pics of stuff i did/bought or want to do/buy with my $ and positive affirmations for confidence, sales, & being a money magnet). When I'm getting ready, I throw on a upbeat playlist in itunes or listen to a motivational audiobook and set the iPhoto album to play as a random slideshow. So even if I'm not actively watching the slideshow with the affirmations & pics, every time i look up at the screen something pops up that makes me feel good, confident, sexy and in an all around ass-kicking mood.
I leave the house totally ready to make $.
