I replied to this thread a while back but never stated where I stand w/ my drug use.
I very rarely take anything recreationally. I rolled twice this year at a party and a concert. I drink lightly (never more than two drinks at a show, night out w/ girls, et).
Now for pills: I DO NOT take them for recreation. However, I use small doses of hydrocondone for pain and a bit of valium for insomnia. My doc has given me xanax for anxiety and I have been very careful w/ it. When I say small, I'm talking half a dose or less.
However, recently I've been training extra hard for an a commercial I'm shooting this Sunday. I'm doing some aerial stuff. I hurt my upper back a few months ago and it hasn't quite healed. My trainer has been pushing me to get more flexible. I found that if I used xanax, I could relax enough to push myself further. BAD IDEA!
After a week of doing this off and on, I had an 'off' day yesterday and my first panic attack in over a year! I actually had two of them while behind the wheel. Very scared, couldn't see straight, couldn't feel my fingers, my pulse beating out of my body!
This happened because my body became very used to it and needed more.
Those of you who take benzos, please be careful.
Sorry so long, but xanax will NEVER be a recreational drug for me.
