Ok, so I'm so excited! I started with OHC tonight, after taking forever for it to actually show up on my stupid mac..I got like 2 VIPs and 1 private, but they only stay in a few minutes..what do you actually *do* or say to get more guys in? And stay in? OHC is just topless, so I did a strip tease sort of thing, but i dont know i feel like i'm missing something ?

^^^ How long did it take to get the 2 VIPs and Private?

Sorry I have no advise to give.

Over 2 hours. Wasn't happy with $29 for over 2 hours !

babe, it takes awhile to build up regulars on onhercam. The traffic is not super high like other sites. You need to make an OHC twitter account, post on the blog, chat a lot in the forum, etc. Get the guys to know you. :)

I made a twitter and try to post as much as I can..I know it takes time, it's just frustrating :( I'm not sure how to do fancy cute banners and such that I see other cam girls have , or how they make so much money and guys just give tips and such..:( I know i'm new but Im just not sure what to do haha..

another model made mine for me. She will probably make one for you too. look in the forum. It takes time. I don't make fantastic money but I am starting to do a lot better after being there for a few months. Do the best you can. Post sexy pics in the forum, let guys know when you're on cam, etc. What is your profile url? PM me in the forum there. :)

Oh ya I meant that you can't block states in the US, which I am pretty pissed about but whatever. I'll edit it right now. :)
Just checked out your blog!
Very cool!
Does it help with traffic?

Thanks. :) It definitely does. I have over 214,000 hits to my blog and get shows from it. :)

Thank you everyone who posted on this thread. It helped a lot!

I am wondering, I am planning on camming, but with camming I want to take my business else where as well such as selling videos, pictures, panties etc. I know there are sites that could do that for you. But would I be able to do that all together and control from a blog with a "buy button" and such, are their any sites that help you within this process of selling and buying from your site, not a site you join? Sorry Im bad at explaining!

For videos and pics clip4sale and niteflirt. For panties ebanned. You can also create a blog site or regular site and sell videos, images, and worn items with a buy now button from alertpay or ecampay.

This is what I have seen/my experience to help you out. ;D
**Cams.com= lots of traffic, nice layout, you can't block any areas, choose your pay rate, low % pay
**Webcams.com= lots of traffic, nice layout, can block areas, can block free chat, choose your pay rate, kick ass affiliate program, pay is slow, I've heard it has gone downhill and there are lots of beggars now
**Streamate.com=lots of advertising so TONS of traffic, sells your recorded videos to tube sites (I've heard), you get your own site like modelname.cammodels.com
**LiveJasmin.com= lots of traffic, good affiliate program, can block free chat, 24/7 live support, can't block any US states, $50 minimum payout, they make you do an intro period where your chats are like 99cents per minute
**Naked.com= beggars and assholes in free chat, can block areas, less models so more guests in your room, good traffic
**Camwithher.com= low traffic, is non-nude for girls who don't want to get naked
**Onhercam.com= not the best traffic, high % payout, very classy, can sell videos, can be non-nude, very helpful and friendly staff and models
**MyFreeCams.com= insane traffic, only beggars and guys barking things at you, pretty much have to do hardcore shows in free chatroom for tips, hard to get privates because so expensive and guys want free show
**Flirt4Free.com= good traffic, beggars in free chat, can block areas, hard to get privates because so expensive, lots of rules
**ImLive= great traffic, set your own price, can do non-adult if you want to and can also do fetishes (independent platform for cam girls)
**IFriendsV2= I tried to sign up because I heard girls make great money there but the site is way too complicated/hard to navigate, it takes forever to get set up, they make you jump through hoops to apply, can block areas
**ScoresLive.com= crappy traffic, beggars in free chat, can block areas, lots of rules
*This site has good info http://www.sexcams101.com/?source=gs&kw=web%20cam%20girls
*adult-webcam-faq.com is good for info, also

Mind if i copy and paste this info into my thread: http://forum.stripperweb.com/showthread.php?p=1964376#post1964376

If things are outdated, Im hoping others will correct it. Also if you have anything to add to whats posted in the thread, PLEASE DO!

Yeah I noticed it was wierd, like from what I remember I could block a country, but only certain countries.. like I'm in the USA, and I couldnt block US or UK... I think I remember figuring out a way to block my state but I may be wrong. When I'm actually awake I'll have to look into it.

did you ever find a way to block your state????

Thanks for this helpful information about the different webcam sites great to know the full scoop about these websites. I'm interested possible joining camcontacts.com. I read on adult-webcam-faq.com good reviews about the website, but I would like to know if anyone else on here on there. I tried to search on this forum about the website and I couldn't find detail information only just know it's not a free videochat website. I just would like to know if can block areas ? They don't mention block areas. Thanks to anyone that can give me feedback about this website :)

update

Ok, I found out it's 50% percentage on camcontacts and the traffic not really good. I just would like to know if the block areas allowed on that website.

cambabes is an independent listing site. They do have their own camming platform but it's pay per blocks of time not per minute. you treat it just like another listing site not a site like imlive.

I'm in a rush right now to get my son ready for school, but I'll read this thoroughly later. :) Maybe I'm missing something with iFriends, but when I selected to do the pay-per-minute chat option, I was still being put in free video chat where guys could see me on video and I wouldn't get paid for it...wtf? One of the reasons I joined iFriends was that I thought free video chat wasn't mandatory. Even if it was just free text chat, I could live with that, but I was in video and guests and members were able to see me through a 'privacy screen' or some shit, and I hadn't made a dime. They shouldn't act like free chat is optional if they're just gonna throw you into free chat automatically anyway.

All you have to do is ''read'' the features of the software and you will find that while in pay-per-min chat you are still being viewed by the ''Cat Call'' service which you have to ''manually'' disable once you sign into your chat! Look above your live video feed once you sign into your chat and up above you will see where it says ''CatCall status'' click this menu and press the option ''Invisible'' and you will no longer be featured on the free cams sites of Ifriends which is TotallyFreeCams.com.

Thanks. I'll probably try it later when I get back from the hospital, if I'm feeling better. The long process of getting signed up and approved on iFriends is a pain in the ass as it is, so I really hope it's worth it!

I just to add cams.com now allows US cam models on the website the ability to block US states. I think they should let non US cam models the same to block area out if they want. The following information posted from the adult-webcam-faq.com forum.

Attention US Models: You Can Now Block Viewers from US States

October 14, 2010

One of our most requested features is to have a way to block viewers from certain areas. We've added this option for US models who want to block viewers from US states.

All you need to do is go to My Account, then select Block/Unblock Members. You will see the list of states in a dropdown.

Thanks,
Your Streamray Team

Wanted to add that webcams.com has an affiliate partnership with Xtube. You'll notice some guests pop up as XTB.[name].

"We allow our affiliates to post recorded shows on small sites" (email from their admin awhile ago when I asked).

So they sell videos also, it appears that its not at the same level as streamate from my poking around, but just an FYI for people deciding where to go.

Also if you have blocked settings on webcams it crosses over to xtube - does not apply for recorded videos since that can move around easily, but it does apply for live chatting.

Ooh and did i mention that ecampay has NO HOLDBACKS and take the loss if you have a chargeback? LOVE EM!

Sorry if this is a dumb question but what do you mean when saying holdbacks and chargebacks? Have been trying to figure this out but haven't!:-\

Raven69Skye

holdback: delay in paying/minimum amount required before payout.
chargeback: a show you did/processed was refunded to the customer and you pretty much did a free show.

Just wondering, for those who would like to do indy camming but don't really have the time to wait for money to start pouring in just from that, can you start your indy camming business while still being on big name sites like MFC and SM? Or do they forbid you from branching out and doing your own site while signed up with them?

Arialandre

You can for sure do your own thing while on MFC and SM. Only a few cam sites actually have the loyalty clause in their contracts and those two for sure DON'T have it.

Hi, ladies! Just poking in (I'm still catching up on reading lol) to ask something that I can't find yet on this board regarding SM:

I can't look at my SM profile from the customer side because of regional blocking, but is there some way that I can see my customer reviews? I know I have 5 stars and no bad ratings, but I don't see anywhere on the dashboard where I can look at my reviews. TIA :)

hmm yes you should be able to log into your account and click on my users then my ratings. :)

I looked on the myfreecams thread but I don't think this is talked about - when you go to sign up, it asks you to "tell about yourself." Ok, this may be a stupid question, but I really hate this sort of shit on applications. Do they just want to know like your age and modeling experience or whatnot? Or do they want the same sort of fluffy "I'm a hot blonde and want to have some fun!" BS that you type into your profile to attract horny guys? I don't wanna get blown off but I don't want to sound stupid if I don't have to lol

For that matter, why do some sites need to know right off the bat what my myspace or twitter page is or whatever is as I'm applying? Do they check it or something...? I'm just getting really confused here as I'm trying to actually sign up. I thought they needed your basic info, some pictures, and a verification of age... this is turning out more complicated than I thought lol What's with all this extra crap that some sites are asking for?

Thanks for the reply, naughtycammer. When I click on my users then ratings, it just shows a grey box titled "bad rating review" and it says "no bad ratings found." That's it. The rest of the screen is just whitespace. :-\

I'll send them an email, although I'm not hopeful for a quick response. I want to know what the guys are saying about me. LOL

I didn't want to post this in the specific thread for this because reps could read it and disable in the future but I heard a lot of people complaining about not being able to turn off FLC on IM unless they convert 5 guests or complete 120 hrs in FLC and all that crap.

But Idk if this is common knowledge or not but you can "pause" the FLC mode it will tell you "this time won't go towards your mandatory 120 hrs blahblahblah" but guests can still request a pvt so if ure like the type of person who likes to do chores around the house and then run to the computer when the doorbell rings this is the way.

MFC has almost no standards at all... you can type "I shit myself 4 times a day, and have no bladder control. I also am chasing the worlds record for the most unattractive woman."

An hour or two later, you get an approval. And that's no joke. If you saw some on the new girls in the past few weeks, you would never imagine how it would be possible for them to get an approval.

As for other sites, no idea though... I like MFC, despite it's short-comings, because they do not expect you to be proprietary to them, and have no problem you advertising your Twitter, website, selling your own videos, etc, while a model there. I would never model on a site that tried to tie me to them.

Awesome - thanks! Yeah, I think I'm gonna give up on the other sites I was trying to sign up for. I was going to sign up for onhercam because I heard it's a relatively good market for doing striptease shows which I thought would be good for the days that I didn't feel like dong anything hardcore. But they're just being a pain in the butt and I hear most girls don't make much with them anyway, so forget them lol

The downside to MFC is that it's a tough sell. You really gotta work hard or do something different that other girls aren't doing. So many girls do public cum shows (I'm guilty of doing a few myself) that it's not easy to get the lucrative privates.

None-the-less, if you are talkative, dirty for pay, and have thick skin for the douche bag non-paying pigs that wander in your room, you can make some serious money in a short time.

My selling point in private is that I do everything to make the guy (and occasional female) believe that they are really really there in the room with me, and I get really dirty. I do have rules of course, but not a whole lot of them, and the guys seems to like that. I also do a lot of role play, and I two way cam, so I've made a nice group of loyal guys who keep coming back so I can help them fulfill whatever fantasies they have on that day.

I'm still pretty new at this though, and it's a big change from stripping. In some ways it's easier to deal with because you don't have to worry about pigs grabbing you, but the online anonymity also brings out the sickest of the sick who will say and do just about anything. I just ban them if they get to filthy for me. LOL

Anyway, good luck, and I hope it works out for you. :)
