Some chick asked me to play that really shitty shitty shitty: "Cookie Jar" song, why? It's a pretty stupid song, that makes no sense, why on earth would she ask me to play it for her? I played it, and regretted it soon after. Jebus, the people who made that song should be shot.

I. HATE. Nickleback.
This girl the other day played some rap song that was like 'Guh I wanna get you pregnant, wanna git u pregnant'... that's not sexy.
And ya know, nothing against System of a Down, but whenever someone plays it, people complain. I guess I can see why it's cool to dance to, but unless you know 927435975 pole tricks, it doesn't look good.
Believe it or not, Nickelback has a very few decent songs with some balls, but no one EVER plays them--all they EVER play is the whiny groaning shit that sucks. I used to hate Nickelback with a passion until I heard a couple good ones which I use when they ask for the shitty ones.
I heard that fucking rap song about getting the girl pregnant, I think. Is it the one where the guy claims she'll get rich by letting him knock her up? Right, sure pal, after you dump her, she loses her looks from stressing out over a baby and lost wages, and you have vanished to knock up some other idiotic bimbo dumb enough to think grills are cool?
I agree about System of the Down. It's interesting but very discordant.

That stupid song: "She rockin that thing like", what exactly is she "rockin"?
"...that shit", actually. You must be using the Promo Only or some other edited for radio version, where they substituted 'thing' for 'shit'. I can understand your annoyance, but there are far, far worse songs out there IMO. At least The Dream actually has some rhythm, as in 'Rhythm & Blues', and is complementary to the woman--sort of--unlike the vast majority of rap songs in the last 10 years, which are nothing but guys bragging about how cool they are and how many blatantly inferior 'bitches' they fuck.
Agreed, Dave Matthews has no balls. Never did see the appeal, except maybe to grandmas across the nation.
Du Hast is definitely played out. There was this girl I knew that used to flop around on stand and 'dance' to it. All she would do is trot around the pole and do pole tricks out of rhythm then flop down on her butt. It's one of those songs that has a person attached to it for me I guess.
I would dance to really strange stuff like rockabilly and country and obscure techno. That way no one would be like 'that bitch stole MY song!!!!' I know we ALL know at least one of those.
I can't stand top 40 crap anyway. I know it's unavoidable in a strip club but damn.
I have had really spastic dancers ruin many a song for me! And yeah I hate the 'That's MY song!' bullshit. Some dancers will seriously try to claim every song by any given artist, like say Kid Rock--they mean it!! I so agree about the Top40, which brings me to this little gem:
Pretty much ANY Top 40. I passionately hate it, both ITC and OTC. It's all completely generic, homogenized crap completely devoid of any substance, message, or musical prowess. It all sounds the fucking same, none of it is good after the first, maybe second time you listen to it, and all it ever talks about is rampant partying and consumption and being "the shit". OMFG.
And everybody is such a fucking drone that they all LOVE IT because they lack the mental capacity to think for themselves and develop their own tastes. So instead they just listen to it ALL THE FUCKING TIME without stopping to question or considering the fact that a few individuals are becoming disgustingly, obscenely rich because of the consumerist crap that so many people mindlessly accept. Erg.
Although I will admit that I kind of like Lady Gaga and her crazy outfits...but all her shit is so played out that it ruins it for me.
I seem to recall you have a SO, but I just gotta say I love you, in a completely platonic and non-invasive fashion. This is so spot on. I despise PopTop40 Cheeze.

Wow, this thread is fun. I really should be continuing to clean out my parents' house so I can get to work tomorrow night, but I am having a good time, so one more reply...
Also I'm in Love With a Stripper, always cringe when this comes on while I'm doing a LD
Every dancer I know that has ever loved that song was with a guy that beat her up and/or took all her money. Can you say 'delusional'?
I like Pitbull's Krazy because it gets the crowd going, but 'Calle Ocho' is insipid and annoying as hell, and reminds me of those weird Mexican music videos with 6-7 guys in sequins and big hats hopping around on saturday afternoon Spanish TV stations. "1,2,3,4...get your ass out the fucking door". As if that wasn't bad enough, there's now 'Hotel Room', which is being played even more than '1,2,3,4' was. Whatever talent he had has vanished entirely, which of course means he is more popular than ever.
And finally, 'Crazy Bitch'. I kind of liked it at first, but not only is it played to death, but it also epitomizes everything that sucks about rock music from the standpoint of relations between the sexes.
'She's a crazy bitch, but she fucks so good I'm on top of it...'
Cool, man. She's a whacked out flake but she fucks you good and you are ON TOP, dominating her, making her do what you say and continuing to pump up your 10,000th variation on the sexist male rockstar image with all the groupies kissing your ass, so who cares?
I love rock music, don't get me wrong, but long before the rappers started getting rich insulting the women they were fucking, the rockers were 'on top' of this little game.
Take for example that otherwise catchy and sort of cute song about the vegetarian girl, 'Every Morning' or something like that, that came out about 10 years ago. Great song, until the chorus.
'She don't eat meat, but she sure likes the bone...'
Wow, he really likes that girl, doesn't he? Is that what he says to her dad when he meets him. Shut the fuck up, asshole.
Rock music is inherently sexist. It's always 3-4 guys, very rarely are there women in the bands, do the math--it's ridiculous. I don't belive that men are that much better musically than women, but from the ratios in rock music you'd think women were some sort of tone-deaf idiots, useless except for sucking dick, idolizing illiterate pricks, and dancing on videos.
Oh, and in summation. If you wonder why so many DJs play so much of this shit all the time, it's sure as hell not always because they like it. I play a lot of music I despise, just to get the many, many dancers and customers, devoid of any class or style, off my fucking back, and who will throw a shitfit and go running to management and/or refuse to tip me if I don't knuckle under now and then. you have no idea how obsessed they get with this shit. Fuck 200,000 being crushed and dying in Haiti, it's the end of the fucking world if they can't dance to the same song 10,000 other vapid bimbos are, all across the land.
There are some songs I still refuse to play unless big guns are produced, maybe. Anything by 50cent, that 'Back That Ass Up' song, 'Sex and Candy' by the retarded guy I forget his name but he sounds like a Special Ed grad, and a few choice others I forget now, but that I am literally, physically incapable of playing.

I pretty much feel homicidal over any popular dance shit haha.
I like rock and metal.
In particular songs that annoy me:
That single ladies bullshit by Beyonce.
Anything by lady ga ga.
I kissed a girl song. At my club we do these stupid girl-on-girl dances on the main stage where we give another dancer a lap dance and they play I kissed a girl. It seems to go on for like 10 mins. I loathe the song.

adding:
I can pretty much tell you with 100% confidence that nickleback is IMO the worst band that ever existed. I just sat here and gave it some good thought, and of all the bands I hate... nickleback is in the #1 spot by leaps and bounds. They are (to me) the EPITOME of trite horrible uncreative rock music. Their lyrics make me fucking cringe. All of them.
:D One of the first things I told the new DJ was:
"I'm pretty easy going, but if you play me any rap, r&b, or nickleback I'll fucking stab you in the neck. With a knife." Customers request music from this band a lot though. I hate nicklecrap.

Yeah. The problem is that a lot of DJs see me and think "oh, rock music"...... so I have to be VERY specific. It generally entails me saying something like
"please please please don't play me pretty much any rock from after the year 2000 unless I personally request it" sometimes I will even make a list of "NO" bands.. which includes anything that sounds like nickleback, puddle of mud, seether, disturbed, etc etc etc.
I think the only newish bands I dance to are queens of the stone age and the white stripes... and they arent even that new.

How Low by Ludacris. :banghead: I cringe everytime I hear that song. It is played multiple times a night and the whole club goes crazy over it. It wouldn't be such a bad song if they didn't put that little squeaky chipmunk voice in it.... It ruins it...

What's funny is, I fucking loath and detest gangsta shit and most new hip-hop, but I love Gorilla Zoe, and like a lot of Lil' Wayne. It's this fucking Drake guy that really sucks, and of course 50cent, whom I haven't played in years, and who did so much to run rap into a ditch.
Of course I am very wise and never ever watch the stupid fucking videos, it ruins the songs every time. That goes for the fucking rock videos as well.

Haha you just made my day. Agreed on lady gaga. Lately the songs that seem to stick with me like a bad cold are "Soul Sister" by Train and "Sex on Fire" by the Kings of Leon. The latter is due to the fact that one of our DJs screams "My dick is on fire" during the chorus. He does this about 2 or 3 times a day. The former is just a nauseatingly happy, upbeat and positive song. Most of my music is very nihilistic and angry. (I am a huge Johnny Cash fan)

Maybe it's a TX thing too. I'm so SICK of Kings of Leon!!! I hate that Sex on Fire song and Use Somebody the most. Is it just me or what? I don't see the appeal of this band. Their stuff sounds like something that would've been popular like fifteen years ago. The two afforementioned songs especially sound like that. How is this crap getting airplay or selling albums?
I looked up what these dudes look like. They look like they should be playing another genre entirely. Although, I have to admit that the lead singer has a nice voice. Still...
I get so annoyed when I hear this stuff.

ANY "hip hop" or rap after 1998 or so. BLEGH!!!! Just blegh. (Although, I have to admit I do really like Shaggy, but just for his voice)
HATE death metal at work. Love it at home, but not at work. between the rogue custys, the vapid girls, flashing lights, and too loud music, it's too much and it's weird to dance to, cause I want to hit each beat, but I am just not that fast, lol!
I try to find older cool stuff to dance to that is sexy and seductive; but most mgmt says it's "too slow" or "puts people to sleep". That's funny, cause I sell more laps after a sexy set, than to 'faster' music.
