Yes - my Nikon D3000 + 4 year extended warranty and the 55-200mm lens... $1000 down the drain. Its collecting dust. It was my first camera. 2 months later I realized it cannot autofocus with good lenses. I ended up buying a different camera (another $1000) to replace it along with a few other lenses. No freaking clue what to do with that camera.
E-Bay or Craig's List. :)

^^ Yea... the warranty I wont get back... the lenses I use (very very rarely but still) - 18-55 and 55-200. If I sold Id just sell the body and get maybe $250 for it. Im keeping it as backup. Once I get the D700 and Tamron 28-70mm this summer I will get rid of the D3000+kit lens and use my D90 as backup.

I have regrets, but they're usually small things cause I'm so freaking cheap. I can honestly say I am the most frugal stripper ever. I think maybe $500 for Real Estate school in 2005 was a really stupid thing to do. The interest rates started adjusting 3 days after I got a 99% on my test (had to throw that in there cause I'm mad about the wasted effort as well lol).

Whenever I feel like buying something frivolous I check back on this thread. I skipped a denim jacket that is $75 this week. I liked it, but I really didn't need it or have anyplace in particular to wear it.
Instead I put the money in savings for my upcoming vacation. That will get me a ticket to Disneyland!

I wasted about 5k last year on attempts to clear up my acne. Laser treatments, micro-dermabrasions, ridiculously over-priced products and weekly facials that in the end did nothing. The amount of time I wasted and physical pain blows my mind as well.
I still waste a lot of money on food. I try to buy everything fresh and organic (=$$) and I let it go bad in my fridge, constantly. I guess if you're going to waste money on anything though, it should be attempting to make yourself healthier.
I wasted a ton of my ex's money, but that doesn't count right? }:D

Most expensive thing I ever bought and regretted is Lipo. It just didn't make any difference.

A 500 dollar shirt I bought in Miami. Never worn, and is way to slutty to wear anywhere.

I don't have a lot of guilt over actual material possessions I purchase, but I do regret that I've spent so much money on food and lattes. I waste like at least $200 a week from eating out every meal (breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner) and buying Cafe Vanillas from Coffee Bean once or twice every day. It's ridiculous. I need to stop.

i waste a lot of money in general but the expensive thing i regret 'buying' was going to school out of state. the tuition was ridiculously high and i ended up back home fairly quickly because i was so unhappy where i was before. i'm not in debt as a result but it's 10 grand i could've saved and used elsewhere. however, i try not to regret that experience (though an expensive one). i was also able to transfer into a much higher caliber university as result of transferring, but still...could have done that without moving out of state and spending a lot to go somewhere for three months.

AVEDA Hair school = $13,000 (Was 20K but I got 7K back for leaving early) I learned the whole curriculum and starting cutting and dyeing people's hair....then I decided; "Man I really don't like standing up all day, working with chemicals, using my arms and fingers so much and listening to these bitches complain... and then if you screw it up at all you are F*&#ed" That and I realized that stylists don't help you grow long healthy hair at all, they CUT the hair off and damage it with chemicals. You have to lie and upsell people when the truth is, if you want your hair to grow long and healthy, just steer clear of all stylists. That was my experience anyway...I guess it wasn't a watse in that I needed to see it wasn't the job for me but still, it was alot of money.
My regrets:
a $5000 laser tattoo removal machine (it worked and all, but then i got too lazy to keep using it, and eventually fried it by plugging it in to a 240V outlet instead of a 110V)
$400 cell phone i used for less than a month, and which is now less than worthless
$900 Laboutin shoes that i've worn once in the 3 years that I have them
$1200 for Adobe Creative Suite 2.5, when the computer it was installed on got stolen (it can't be reinstalled because i've already installed it 3 times on different hard drives that kept getting fried and eventually stolen)
Also, when I was young and impressionable, I payed sticker price for a car that came off of a 4 year lease (the poor thing was abused to death)
And countless thousands of dollars more for clothes, shoes, makeup, small kitchen appliances, home decor, etc... some of which never even came out of their original packages

^ Louboutin shoes have got to be some of the most over-rated things on the planet!
Believe me, I model heels for a living and would never pay that much again (I bought some Blahnik's which broke...) - even for good high heels.

Eh I disagree. Well, I would never spend my own personal money on CL's, but I am all about having them bought for me. Mmmmm. These are the ones I'm about to get now }:D

I find that I wear CL's all the time and love it. Yes they go to shit somewhat quickly, but to me they are just so comfortable and make my legs look the best. Plus I'm a sucker...

*Wait sorry, realized this is what you regret spending money on and then I'm like "oh I wouldn't spend my money on this" like an asshole. I guess I probably would spend my own money on these if I had to now that I think about it, but I get a ton of use out of them. I also bring mine into a local shoe repair place for minor scratches and upkeep.

A time share for $20K. It was a mid-life crisis thing. There were some good reasons to buy it, but if I'd have done any research at all, I could have gotten it and for a lot cheaper. It is paid off, but now, the reasons for buying it are gone and I just seek to get rid of it.
