How about this one? There is a girl at my club with really bright dreads in her hair. It is her signature look and she is a model and well known with it. A new girl went out and got the same exact hair, in the same exact colors and even went as far as to ask the original girl how to take care of it. Customers were mixing them up, and original girl has a ton of regulars and is a huge money maker. I could not believe it. I was in a state of shock.

Thats what they make scissors for! :D I'd get rid of the twin. And quickly.

I read and browsed these boards for about a year before I started dancing. This was not a joke for me and it shouldnt be a joke for you newbies either unless you wanna end up screwed. My very first week of work I had the other dancers asking me if I have ever danced before or what club I came from. (this is the biggest complement a newbie can get)

Soak up every bit of knowlede you can from this site, Become a red eyed zombie and spend three straight weeks going back into these threads as far as 2006 or as far as you can possibly go. I know this might sound crazy but take notes if you have to and bookmark your favorite threads. I knew nothing abouts SC's at the time and my only knowledge about SC's came from that movie "players club" (lol) I also knew no strippers in real life

Pay your taxes like a good citizen and know the difference between a 1099 and a W-9 because you will be needing them (i live in cali so other states might differ)

-Know everything from makeup tips, do's and donts, how to hustle, handling customers, maintaining your sanity, keeping a high self esteem, how to get your lies straight, managing your money, and staying safe. Theres lots more topics that need to be learned but these are the most important

-Dont be afraid to ask stupid questions on here, we were all stupid strippers too

-If you're a broke stripper like I was I suggest you make an ebay account, you can get cute gear/costumes and cheap perfume/body spray for under $10 most of the time

i would freak out if some chick stole my hair. actually i did in hs one time, moons ago, before dancing. i pride myself on having different stylish hair (though after all my experimenting my hair is really tame for me) but i dyed my hair extremely white platinum blonde with very rounded long framed bangs and a week later this girl had the same exact hair as me. this was before long fringe was popular and i was pissed. i get my ideas for bangs and cuts from japanese magazines or straight from the runway...so if i saw a girl show up with the same cut as me i KNOW it's not because it's trendy...i would rip the new girl a new one.

i just really pride myself in my hair...i think medio said something in a thread that she didn't get dd breasts but dd hair...i'm the same way. my hair is my form of style and expression and i cut and color it to be different since i dress very simple yet classic.

You rock ruby. I am the SAME way about my hair. Hence why I also went into the profession. My hair is my GLORY and thats how I view it when topics like this come up. Hair copycat=big nono. Damn IT. Disgust

Sorry to post again but I left something out. Im not saying you have to browse this site for a year like I did just read, read, read..Give it atleast a full month. This also lets you know wether stripping is the path you wanna take, as a lot of girls think stripping is glamourous until reality bursts their little bubbles.

Journalize!! Being a stripper means being an accountant, after every night write down in a notebook the date, what you wore, how your hair was styled, how much money you made, and how much was tipped out. This way you can spot any potential trends such as: "I seem make the most money on the 19th of each month or I seem to not make as much money when I wear the yellow short-set" (see where im going with this?) this also serves as keeping track of your money.

Dont strip all the time because you want to make more money, this quickly leads to burnout, I say no more than 4 days a week.

Dont blow your money! What you have today you might not have tomorrow have some sort of saftey net even if its $500!!!!!

Im not overexaggerating when I say this but I think SW is the difference between a smart stripper whos owns her own home by the age of 30 with all debts paid off and the coked out stripper on antidepressants making pennies and doing extras

It was crazy becasue all the girls were talking about new girl, but no one said anything to her. I couldn't take it anymore, so I said something to her. She was "shocked' :Othat anyone thought it was bad. I told her that in my opinion, she had two choices, either to take the hair out or go work at another club. To her credit, she took it out just a few days later. Now, she has her own look and she has turned into a little moneymaker. ;)

I bought bras similar to this one http://tinylink.com/?0IXg7mcl7N
in a bunch of different colors and I'd wear it to work with some booty shorts. a lot of the girls liked it and complimented me on it. a few weeks later I noticed 3 other girls wearing the same thing. maybe not always the same color, but still the same outfit. blah.. I didnt really get mad, but it did get annoying. one night, one of the girls had literally the same exact outfit(same color bra, same color booty shorts, and even the same style of heels) as I did that night and it was the only thing I'd brought with me. I stopped wearing em after that.

Newbies telling me how to hustle and get more money is annoying..... and I also dont like when they sit around and just stare at me on stage.
being overly friendly(slapping my butt or grabbing my boobs in a playful manner) when we dont even know each other is also not my cup of tea.

I just thought of a few things. Sound minor but could prevent dancers getting in trouble.

Don't really give your last name to anyone except for contracts and whatnot. I rarely gave out my real first name, but never gave out my last name. The reason? Not just because they might steal your info for financial reasons, but also legal reasons. I once got to work and found out the cops were looking for me. The reason? Because one of the dancers gave him my stage name. Luckily this was straightened out because I am a clean dancer, and I wasn't there that day. I shudder to think what might have happened if the dancer knew my name. Also, another dancer could steal your information. We'd all like to think every dancer is decent, but we all know many are thieves/drug addicts, etc.

Always carry your drivers license or ID on your body. I don't know if this is true, but I've heard that you can get busted if a cop wants to see your id and you don't have it.

Agreed with the stealing songs thing. I don't really care if it's not fair to say that; fine, I'm a bitch. DON'T DANCE TO MY SHIT. Of course, 95% of my music is obscure Nine Inch Nails, not the shit you hear on the radio. Like "Closer," I don't give a fuck about it. Dance to it all you want, that song got old years ago. But I hear you up there dancing to "Gave Up," we're gonna have issues. Especially since the girls who steal music rarely steal it cause they genuinely like the music; at my club, the girls who steal songs are doing it explicitly to copy another dancer. I have a Nine Inch Nails tattoo on my back, and a few years ago there was this dancer who worked for a few months and started trying to copy everything about me--bleached her hair blonde and got extensions, stopped wearing her glasses, and when customers would come in and say, "Where's the Nine Inch Nails girl," she'd be like, "Ohh, that's me!" Even though she did NOT have the tattoo. Ohhh, I was PISSED. She's gone now, though. Thank god.

Another newbie tip: you do not know what you are doing. Seriously. And it's okay. No one expects a newbie to be an expert: for a lot of customers, that's part of the charm. You've got that whole innocent, naive thing going on. So for the love of god, do NOT think that because you make great money your first few nights, you're an expert and know what the rest of us should be doing. Cause you don't. There was this girl at my club who was younger than all of us and had the voice of a 55-year-old smoker, and she'd get involved with everyone's business. Start giving us "advice," and tell us what we should improve. And this girl had awful outfits, didn't know how to do her hair or makeup, and danced like a moron. There's almost no quicker way to alienate other girls than to do this.

Don't dance onstage like you have an invisible guy behind you you're grinding on. It looks sooo bad, especially when the girl doesn't have an ass/know how to move it if she does.

Learn how to walk in your shoes. Wear them around your house for a day, or something. It looks really wicked bad if you're stomping around the club. We have a girl who's danced for over a year and still doesn't know how to walk in hers. Even customers will notice and make fun of her.

If you have a question, don't be afraid to ask. Or if you're afraid of the other girls being mean, just ask the DJ who you should talk to, and they'll be able to recommend someone.

This sounds identical to a girl I worked with. I was working at this club for months (dancing for years) when this new girl came in. She started telling everyone how we could make more money. She started telling me that I'd make more money if I was thinner, if I bleached my hair, etc. Did I mention she was an ugly fat slob? I'm sure I made more but she thought she was all that.

Yep! Get your damn ass to the stage in time!!!! I don't want to be up there waiting for you! And stop pissing all over the toilet seat, I mean, come on ladies!

With that, get the hell OFF the stage when you're set is done. If you're in the middle of doing something cute for a customer when the next set is called, fine, finish it, get your dollar, and get out of the way. Otherwise, you should be collecting your outfit and money as soon as you hear the DJ.

We have set times for a reason.

I unintentionally did something rude the other night and had a girl pissed at me because of it. So here is a thread for all the things you should NOT do if you are a newbie:

-Do not talk to a customer who is sitting at the stage. You will distract him from tipping the girl on stage and she will be pissed at you.

I felt really bad and apologized, I really didn't realize I was commiting a stripper faux-pas!

Usually, I would agree with you; but some clubs you have no choice if you want to make anything at all.

Heck, I usually make a game out of it, and make the guy give me money to tip the girls with, and make it faux seductive when I tip, then tell him how fun it was and that it's his turn, so the girl gets twice as much.

I know I can't begrudge anyone from trying to make money, and I like it when the girl and guy both tip me, so I do the same.

Wash your ass! I don't know what it is about new girls walking around all funky, but it happens a lot. Seems like that would just be common sense. I washed up when I first started dancing, but I once saw a new girl wear the same panties for a three staight days, and on the fourth day, didn't wash them, but picked the crust out of them, and wore them. We called her stinky Mandy. I've got other stories about stinky new girls, but I think you get my point.

That is so nasty.

Also, don't wear panties. Wear actual dancer thong or bootie shorts.

Make sure you don't have pimples or boils on your ass. I've seen it too many times.

-Don't hang around on the stage after your set is over, even if you're making good $$. Gather up your bills and get off, it's my turn.

Oh I hate that. I just go on up when it's my turn. If she doesn't move, she might get stepped on or accidentally/on purpose get kicked by me.

Never ask the bachelor if the fiancee knows wear he is...it's a bad idea.
DON'T go into a titty bar thinking your an expert at 1 week because you've spent a year reading stripperweb. These are the girls that say you banked off of a guy when you made 5 songs. It makes a girl stand out for criticism. Learn to walk before you talk.

Please, please PLEASE point your toes on stage!!! You flex your feet and look like you have two broken ankles.

Sickled feet aggrovates me soooo much! Im just like ''point your toes!!!''

If your thong is too big for you, and you are on the pole, please do not rub your twinkle all over the damn thing! It's GROSS!!

Don't complain that the manager asks you to go on the pole before your cigarette break, and yes, we are only allowed one cigarette an hour, those are the rules. Give a little, get a little! You are the same as all the other girls and the rules will not be best for you!!

(One girl actually threw a strop and went home last night coz she wasnt allowed as many ciggies as she wanted and complained that she couldn't possibly go on the pole coz she had a bad back. The standard fine for pole refusal is £10, manager has said to girls before ''dont do tricks or all that stuff, we dont want you to hurt yourself, just dance round it, if you're back is to bad to dance upright, you can't be giving lap dances either!'' She is AWFUL tho, all the girls were glad to see her leave, she makes the rest of us look bad!

If he's REALLY a good one you won't know that he's hitting on you though, and neither will anyone else.

Carry around a small purse you can keep on you at all times. I never once lost anything by using one. Also it's really getting busted but cops will raid clubs and it is always best to be prepared for these situations.

I carried it in a small purse. As for being busted, this never happened to me, but I know of times where the cops bust every dancer. I know these cases are usually thrown out (or cops decide not to press charges) but sometimes they are out to get dancers. These seems to happen a lot before elections.

Show up for your shift at the club in stripper clothes, barefoot with a bottle of vodka. Like, if you can't afford to go to CVS and snag a hot pair of $6.99 flip flops, WHY are you wearing hot pink fishnet stockings and sipping form a a bottle of Stoli?

(Did I mention that this is the very same girl that I had to write about in the "Worst Stage Name" thread?)
