I absolutely love vaseline for everything - removing eye makeup, super dry elbows/knees, dry lips! I swear I find a million uses for it every day.

Shaving with head and shoulders reduces razorburn, and leaves you silky smooth

also what i do if i have to use a deep conditioner i shampoo my hair right away in the shower then put the conditioner on and a shower cap over it, i do everything i need to in the shower and the heat and steam work with the shower cap to give you a really good deep condition

Coconut oil, seriously for EVERYTHING!

Nightly for longer hair girls, oil the tips lightly, then braid into 2 loose braids. Prevents breakage and frizzies and tangles.

Once a week, oil your whole head, wrap in a plastic baggie and leave for 30 mins, then wash as normal. It helps to smooth hair and calm down hair shafts.

Remove makeup with a bit of oil on a cotton ball and gently wipe in circles. It will break down even the most stubborn black mascara and eyeliner. Then wash as normal.

Instead of soap, use oil to wash your face with. Run hot steamy water in sink, then wet washcloth and steam your face for a few mins to open pores, then rub in oil and wipe off. Re-steam and wipe again.

Mix oil and baking soda into a paste and brush your teeth with it, works every bit as well as normal toothpaste if not better, and is gentle and doesn't leave those white fluoride spots like toothpaste does. *not to be confused with the white spots that you get when a cavity is starting to form; I am talking about too much flouride and the spots you get from that.

After getting out of the tub/shower post shaving, use a bit of oil as a lotion (you only need a TINY bit as opposed to using lotion), and it will absorb and leave you silky smooth.

Yeah, just in case you couldn't tell; I'm a HUGE advocate of coconut oil, lol!;D

Me too! I got some after reading on the Long Hair Forums that Indian women use it to oil their hair regularly and it has really helped me grow my hair out too, along from no longer using a flat iron and shampooing just 2ce or 3x per week. I also take a tablespoon daily as Coconut oil has medium-chain branch amino acids that are like magic to your body.

Where (or what brand?) do you get the CO from? And how do you use it for your hair? I desperately need to stop using the flat iron but, for work, needs to not be a huge poof ball! I'm also trying to grow it out more (even though that means more trips to re-highlight, grr!) Oh, and if thats you with your cute poochy, ADORABLE doberman!

haha yeah i guess your right but just to redeem myself here is another tip:
if your ever bored or just have alot of free time on your hands TWEEZE. i tweeze my entire bikini area. ive been doing it for about 5 yrs. the hair now grows in so sparse. its like i have a permenant bikini wax :) plus its alot better for you than sitting and pigging out while watching your tv shows. just dont do it in the company of others, haha.

I used to do this (I have mild OCD anyway, so it helps channel that), but the hair growing back was so itchy/painful that I stopped. So there are long term benefits? Hmmm...}:D I guess it makes sense. I mean, they always tell women not to overpluck their eyebrows b/c they tend to not grow back...

I totally agree. 'Specialists' always say that unless you're severely dehydrated drinking lots of water won't make a visible difference blah blah blah--I'm sorry but if I make it a point to drink a lot of water one day I notice a definite difference in my face the next day.

Aahhh. I know I should drink more water, but I just hate how flavorless it is. I usually add a bit of lemon to mine to make it taste better. Probably not the best solution since lemon is so acidic...

I used to always have a ton of scabs all over my lower legs from plucking, so much that it was embarrassing to have my legs seen. Anymore, I have to force myself to not pluck and only epilate. It kind of sucks, because (also with the ocpd), it's really enjoyable.

Any brand you get you want to make sure it's EXTRA VIRGIN. Organic is a plus but not totally necessary. Anything that's not extra virgin, or virgin in the very least, has been processed and has lost its benefits. I personally use Nutiva brand which you can order a 54oz. tub of from The Vitamin Shoppe for like $27 with shipping. You can find it in health food stores too, although I've never seen that brand in a brick and mortar store. I just got a small container of a different brand, Garden Harvest I think, that is extra virgin and organic from one of the health food stores around here.

^^ Awesome!! Thank you :) It's the liquid version I'm guessing? A while ago I got a jar of extra virgin (but came in solid form?) from whole foods but haven't tried it yet, but i'm sure its the same lol.

Pure coconut oil is solid at room temperature. If you're getting it in a liquid form, it's not virgin and probably contains other things. It turns liquid at a pretty low heat though. Like, if I take a long shower and have the jar in the room, part of it melts. It also melts when you rub it on your skin.

I've kind of gotten to the point where I don't really like the way it smells. Does anyone else have this problem and do they have any recommendations for anything to mix it with that complements the scent nicely?

Yea good coconut oil is solid at room temp. Mine sometimes melts when it gets really hot outside though. My pantry doesn't have an a/c in it and that't where I keep it.

Yep I got the extra virgin solid one, didn't realize it was so easy to melt! Once it hits my skin it melts right in yay! Trying it for makeup remover, face wash, and might use it as conditioner for my hair tonight :)
