My mind = blown.
It's only because we care. Everyman is in serious need of an intervention. He just don't realize it yet.

God help the assholes like this that wanted to "save" me. I never damn well needed rescuing....I made more than most of those arrogant dickheads, had my shit together and actually did WAY less drugs (try none) and drank less than most of the "well adjusted" middle aged businessmen I danced for. ::)
Sure the stripper is earning a lot of money, perhaps more than EM - she is selling her body. But EM's point was not about how much money she makes, it was about whether she should be doing it that way. He was not saying anything about whether other strippers should be doing it, just those particular girls. Two of them.
Either a dancers gonna be a crackhead ho, with zilch for potential and a high level of drama lamaing, or she's gonna be a well-adjusted girl, who just happens to not mind being naked if the price is right (for some reason you don't tend to see the in betweens in dancers very often :-\). You aren't "finding" or "elevating" anydamn one. Get over yourself.
Damnit, I need someone to slap, I srsly can't handle another arrogant fucktard, atm. >:(

Most ot the strippers I have met and who I have liked were not "lost" or trapped. Most of them seemed like they were just in it for a set length of time after which they would take the money they saved from it and move on to other things. They at least had the sense to know that stripping isn't for life. But I have also seen a number of strippers who seemed like they were a bit lost and in the wrong game for their personal type. It's not hard to believe that EM has found a couple of otherwise strong girls in clubs who were just in the wrong business for them. That would not make him a white knight.

No, you didn't say we had the attitude that we don't need saving, you said we were incapable of higher conversation and had no higher goals. What I'm saying is, you aren't going to be able to help me (because I'm probably smarter and already more successful than 80% of the men I danced for). I already have those goals and have achieved more than most of my custies had when I danced. Worked as a research biologist and then an acct, helped my soon to be ex get a very successful company off the ground. Now, I should have my RN license in about a year, and hopefully either my NP shortly afterward. I'm not an idiot like you are suggesting, I just don't need anydamn body else to "save" me. After all I'm not broken and certainly not begging for cash or doing anything illegal or shameful. I especially don't need some hippocrite that thinks that the buyer of naked entertainment is somehow "above" the naked girl he's handing his wallet over to trying to save me from MY poor choices. I personally have no issues controlling myself. :O
I don't think there are many out there like you at all. Nope it's you guys on here that accuse any halfway decent guy of having "white-night" syndrom. I've personally only encountered it in a few real assholes! Look up my posts, I generally like the men on the board. I think I've had issue with maybe three or four of you since 2002.
Oh, and I never said a DAMN thing about a money-grubbing lying stripper whore...but thanks for calling us that. ;) It's always amusing when some dickless wonder can insert THAT into conversation. I said that there are some druggie-whores in the business, and anyone who denies that is blind or delusional....or maybe so f-ed up on drugs that they don't consider a 2-3 time a week user a druggie (encountered that several times on this very board a few years back...needless to say I disagree. :O )
You ever heard the phrase it's not paranoia if they're really out to get ya? Well here, it's not white knight syndrome if I only ever did it with someone who really needed or wanted it...and it actually had an effect. Like I said, I would never try it with you, so no need to get your panties (err, thong) in a bunch.
As for name-calling strippers...no, you didn't do that, and neither did I. I was just illustrating that there are standard knee-jerk stereotypes on both sides, and how useful would it be if we BOTH started using them? I appreciate people who deal with me for who I am, not for some preconceived notion of who they think I am.

You can't say you are more successful than "middle-aged businessmen" at your other professions if stripping is your bread and butter. And it is easier for you to make money with your body than it is for a middle-aged man or a man of any age. We and the plain girls have to make our money the regular way, which means not as much for the same amount of time and effort. However, EM was not talking about how successful these girls are, he was talking about whether those particular girls should be stripping.
I especially don't need some hippocrite that thinks that the buyer of naked entertainment is somehow "above" the naked girl he's handing his wallet over to trying to save me from MY poor choices. I personally have no issues controlling myself. :O
EM isn't necessarily a hypocrite for thinking the girl should not be stripping. Apparently he does not think it is right for him to go to SCs - hence the thread. He goes because he wants to, not because he thinks it's right. So why should he pretend he thinks it is right for girls to strip? He is only talking about particular girls who aren't suited for stripping. He is not putting himself above those girls. He is merely putting them above stripping. It's an ironic dichotomy - on the one hand I don't look down on stripping but on the other hand I feel it is not ideal for girls to do it.

That's really a stretch on an internet chat board E-man. We don't know who you are. We just read and respond to the words that you type. The anonymity of the internet is both good and bad. It's not easy not to fall back on stereotypes as hard as we may try not to. It's also very easy to be blunt in calling it as we see it based in the words that are being typed. I don't read minds, just posts. If you are being misunderstood it's on you to do a better job of putting your thoughts into writing or realizing that your thought process is too obscure for us to comprehend...or we just don't agree with you...

You can't read minds but you can read between the lines. Even just the words EM typed don't indicate what you interpretted them to mean. You read things into what EM typed that he did not type, obscure or not, agree or not. You clearly misread my posts wrongly a couple of times in another thread too.

That's part of the point Hopper. Everything posted here is subject to interpretation by the people that read and respond. You say I read between the lines or misunderstand, I say that I simply interpret it differently than you or E-man might have intended it...or I just plain don't agree with what you are saying. The most common come back I see here and on other forums is people claiming that "you missed my point" when actually I just didn't agree with it...
There's no way to avoid that on an internet forum. This place is entertainment. If you want to have serious and meaningful discussions it's best to do it one-on-one. There is no nuance or inflection on an internet chat board. Subtle sarcasm is often misread and humor completely missed. Most of the time there is no true interplay between the parties involved. It's just a bunch of people talking to their computer screens.

The fact that I choose not to pursue an antagonistic approach to dancers in clubs or on this board is something I have never denied. I'm certainly not here looking for approval from other male members of the board. I could have almost written this...I don't think I try to be antagonistic, either. It's just, I'm not going to say something I don't believe just to defer to a "dancer viewpoint". So I'm certainly non-deferential, but I don't think I'm antagonistic.
I've seen a few antagonistic custies on here, but in my experience they don't last. Muchhhhhhhhhh more often, I would say a ratio of 5-1, I see dancers be antagonistic toward custies when it is not warranted (as happened in this thread). I assume it's because they have to be "nice" to customers in the club, but when they get a chance here to be an anonymous bitch, they take it to the hilt.

Oh, whatever the fuck. I called you those names because I thought they described YOUR attitudes as expressed in this thread and I was to short on patience to be polite. Notice I said they described YOUR attitude and not CUSTOMERS attitudes.
Hell, the guy I'm involved with is a customer. (Not MY customer before anyone thinks I'm a liar and a hypocrite.) Got no issues with customers, most of em are nice guys that I respect and in no way look down on. However if any strip club patron had the opinion that they were above us, then I'd call them a hypocrite, a dickless wonder, delusional, fucktard and whatever else comes to mind. Talk about hypocritical...I mean srsly, is the drug addict any better than the drug dealer?? Not in the real world.
Oh, and btw, I'm one of those rare pinkies that actually thought you guys should be allowed on SW....why do you think I returned from the flipside? I didn't mean to imply that you are antagonistic E-man. But I am not deferential either. No one is suggesting that anyone should say something that they don't believe just to get along. But I am not doing that either...
I'm not quite sure why some men seem to think that a guy who agrees with a dancer's pov much of the time is forgoing his own opinion, kissing their ass or trying to curry favor. That simply doesn't work. I know a few dancers IRL who are here on Stripper web but none of them participate on this particular forum and, trust me, they are not dancing for me for free because I agree with a dancer pov on a web site.
Anyone who has read this board long enough knows that I have gotten into plenty of arguments with dancers. No one agrees on everything all the time. I do however agree with the basic premise that dancers dance, customers pay and anything else that happens in a strip club just complicates things. Most of the time when the train goes off the tracks here on SW it's when guys try to short circuit this basic rule of how clubs work and why pretty girls in skimpy costumes even give us the time of day...

The dancers that Everyman is talking about work at probably one of the cleanest clubs in that area. With that said, the amount of contact offered in those clubs is pretty high. There is a lot more being sold than just "visual rights".
The other stuff - don't over think it. Go have fun. If its no longer fun, don't go.

I didn't mean "selling" literally there, just that strippers are making a business out of their bodies. Prostitutes don't sell their bodies either - they sell the "sexual rights" for a short time. I don't know whether EM goes to contact clubs, but when I made that comment I had in mind that most of them are; I wasn't thinking of extras.
Why are you quoting me there? Just because I'm a peace-loving hippie sort doesn't mean I can't have a few cranky days. It happens. Deal with it or don't read my posts.
Glad you acknowlege it - I was afraid that you were self-deluded on that point, which makes a person very difficult to deal with. I was dealing with it, the same way I deal with anyone who gets hostile on a public board. Just be glad I wasn't also having a bad day. Now, whenever a stripper here jumps on me for some remark they don't like, I can say "I see you are having a bad day". Or maybe excuse my remark by saying I am having one.

This debate is clearly very important.
I'm already feeling more important just by getting involved.
Clearly, whatever I'm about to say is a big deal:
Re: "stripping is beneath you"-----
for the record, I like to see the stripper above me, beneath me, and even with me at eye level at some point during the dance.
since these customers who say "you're better than this" are able to deeply annoy dancers with one brief phrase cloaked in civility, we need to come up with an equally "pleasant" comeback. Not really an insult. Something that sounds as "helpful" as he just was, but which at the same time reminds these folks of where they fall along the spectrum of pathetic-ness. Which is quite literally beneath the stripper, since most clubs use an elevated stage so she's looking down on the customer. But no, dude thinks he's an eagle who's swooped down from on high into the valley of sin, an outsider, like he's there but he's not really guilty of participating in this titty bar stuff that's clearly beneath him. He's more like a visiting sociologist, aloof, not besmirched like all the other lowlife customers. Well, he needs it pointed out to him that he isn't an outsider, that he's part of the stripclub scene, so if he's knocking it then he's knocking himself too. He too is currently operating "beneath himself" as well for being there. So it wouldn't really be a step up for a stripper to run into his arms to be "saved." It'd be like "the beneath leading the beneath." Far from being "above" the stripclub, he is in fact a living breathing stripclub cliche---he's part of the grand tradition of idiots just like him who've been walking into burlesque shows since the invention of the nipple to prey upon the women there while ostensibly saving them.
So, here's some ideas for the next time you get hit with "this is beneath you":
1) look excited, run backstage and grab the fancy looking brochure that you've had printed up just for these guys, as if you're giving them your phone number, so that they'll be amazed and surprised later when they read it and it basically repeats the "helpful" message from ealier in this post.
2) have an arrangement with the DJ so that if you grab an airhorn and honk it between songs while standing next to this customer's table, the DJ knows to stop the music and single the guy out as if he's won something on a gameshow, at which time he's congratulated for being so much like Jesus that he's saving strippers--just like every other 3rd guy in the place.
3) another Jesus related one--I must have Jesus on the brain today.... Say to him, "You're a lot like Jesus, you know that? Trying to save me and all. Say! Can I slap you? Because that's my favorite thing about Jesus is how if people slapped him he'd turn the other cheek so you could slap him to your heart's content. Can I do that with you? Pleeeeese?" Actually, I guess that probably wouldn't be the best way to make money off of the guy. .....Unless he's into it! Then it would work out perfectly!
