Denver can be blazing ass hot in summer..not Arizona hot but still freakin hot. And if you live anywhere downtown it's EXPENSIVE.
I know Phoenix is dead all summer too but the reason I take it into consideration is that I have a house and family there..and my overhead would be dirt cheap. Ideally want to work two nights a week and finish grad school.
Oh anyways Denver is a fun city..large and spread out. You have Fort Collins up north and CO springs has a base ..good military presence. But it DOES get hot! and snows by September :)

I didn't know it gets that hot in the summer. Is it humid too? I can deal w/ dry heat in the summer but humidity gets the better of me.
I plan to stay at a weekly motel place (like extended stay) and use the rail system to get to work. Still researching to make sure it's all doable. If I like the club I work at in Denver and the rail system is user-friendly (nice not to HAVE to rent a car), I would check it out in the winter too ... but for a first work trip there it's safer I go when it's no snowing. I was suppose to go ice climbing in Boulder years ago but got the flu a week before my trip and canceled my trip ... so that's something I still want to do!

on a side note... if a bunch of us end up in denver over the summer we should totally organize a SW meet up or hike or bike ride or something. ive met some girls in the NOLA and ATX area, but not colorado (except for kylea).

^^ Absolutely! I would love to meet some girls from here. I plan on working Denver for a month this summer just to get out of the Springs, but not too far.
And yes, it does get HOT, but it is sunny and dry-heat.

I worked in denver in june- sept of 08. Iam from another state and they are not to keen on it. The house mom told me not to tell the girls I was from out of town because I was a money maker and they would cause problems. I loved it and made good money there but I hear now its even harder to get hired without a colorodo lisence since all the vcg holdings clubs require a contract and require a certain amount of shifts a week and if you are from out of town you cant fufil this. Also its not that easy getting hired at diamond and penthouse. I brought another girl young cute from here with me and she was told to lose 10 pounds and come back. So before you all flock there I would find out the situation with out of town dancers.

^^i was more interested in living there for non business related reasons... i actually was not looking forward to dancing there since i am under the impression that vcgh did to denver what deja vu did to nola.
i can always lie about being in state. i have no qualms about lying to sc management :).

The only one I know of that isnt is shot gun willies. Not my style but some girls seem to like it. My friend lasted one night there and she is a top earner. She said you have to do these skits throughout the night, you have to buy the costumes for and come in on your days off and learn the routines. No thanks!

Yes, Shotgun's does require that. Most of the better clubs in Denver are VCGH somehow...Pt's mostly.
Player's Club isn't owned by it, but it's a ghetto-ish club. I didn't do well at all, but a friend of mine did.
And yes, it is VERY difficult to get hired at Diamond Cabaret and Penthouse. Boheme is less difficult, as are the PTs-but they still aren't easy, but easier than Diamond and Penthouse. You have to be small to get hired at Diamond or Penthouse-skinny, not thin but skinny-unless, of course, you have an "in" with the managers.
But that is as it is in most high-end clubs.
I personally will be trying for Boheme this summer.

maybe it was mentioned already in this thread, but which club in denver is it that's got an afterhours stripclub upstairs (which sounds soooo weird, but also kind of interesting)?

I am of the opinion that a woman w/ great selling skills can make good money in almost every single club. This holds true unless your club attracts so few people that you don't even have an opportunity to sell anyone.
Example: Last night my club was DEAD. DEAD DEAD DEAD. Another dead night. I walked with $500 because I sold the shit out of the 5 customers who walked through the door. If you're in the mindset of creating moneymaking opportunities for yourself regardless of the hand you've been dealt, then it will happen.
Stop focusing on "where the money is" and make money wherever you are. Trust me, it's out there! (This is general advice, not necessarily directed at the OP)

Last week I met a dancer that moved from Denver one month ago. She was working at Shot Gun Willies ... they have a schedule ... and they do NOT like traveling dancers. She doesn't know about the other clubs but she said more than likely they do not like traveling dancers either. I haven't called La Bohem or any other clubs to double check ... it's just not worth the hassle to me right now ... but wanted to post what that dancer told me.
I know FL is traveling dancer friendly but summer is bad.
My gf from Phoenix might be going to Anchorage soon. She's been wanting to check it out for a year so hopefully she'll be able go ... and come back w/ a good report.
I have a friend in New Orleans and I got a job there but not sure how the summer is ... need to find out the scoops.
Recently I switched clubs ... seriously burnt out at my home club ... and it's a breath of fresh air! Still gonna jump around at other clubs ... again ... LOL ... but this time go in w/ a fresh outlook. It would still be nice to do at least a 2 week summer work trip ... I need a vacation, but I need to work.

yea good sales skills go a long way, but as someone who has danced at a lot of clubs at this point, i am going to say there is no substitute for a club that is a good fit. Of the 20+ clubs (i can count at least 20 clubs that i have worked at) that i have worked at, 2 of them have been a good fit for me. They might not be a good fit for others, but for my style they were as good as it got. and as a result i was happier and made more money.
also its not even always about which city. One of these two clubs was in Cleveland. And its not always the club you would expect.... the club in cleveland was not the busiest club in cleveland, but the way it functioned made it the best club for me personally.
so yea, i advocate club hopping till you find a place that works for you. it might be closer than you think. There is a lot of variety in strip clubs, both in a large scale across the country and in a small scale within a city. Its one of the cool things about this industry-- you get to pick and choose what you want.
The way i see it is every strip club has their own hustle to bring customers in and to get them to spend money. You have your own hustle to get customers to spend money on you. When your hustle resonates with the clubs hustle, then good things happen. So, maybe at a club that is a bad fit you could hustle your tail off to make 500$, but at a place that is just flat out better for you, you could work less hard and make 750$.
That being said, there is no promised land for stripping. There is no city where every stripper is going to be making a G a night. So if you are looking for that, then you might want to stop your search now. But if you know the things that make a good club for you, then you can narrow your search. i.e. you like oil guys-- maybe try TX. you like tourists- try a place that attracts tourists. You like a blue collar crowd-- well you should be able to find this is anywhere. The location that is best for me this summer will probably be different than the location that is best for you, and the location that is best for a different girl.

Adventure Baby :
I was in Denver visiting friends and I called shotgun willies ( this is about 4 months ago ) . They seemed very open to having me even knowing I was out of state. I got lazy and never worked when I was there, so unfornutely the phone call is the only first hand info I have. A few of the other clubs in Denver seemed less keen on it though. If you are determined , you can always say you just moved there ( that's what I did to initially get hired in San Francisco ) .

I totally agree. Athena does have a good point too. If you don't feel comfortable in your environment, it's very difficult to make money. Thats why my first night at a new club is usually not my best night.

britney, i always wondered how you traveled around because i have that exact problem! getting comfortable in a new club takes time for me. i am always impressed with the ladies who are traveling across the us because it takes time for me to get acclimated.

i kind of like exploring the different clubs. i am more ok being a temporary at a club i am not comfortable at than working long term there. There have only been 4 clubs which i have been faithful to, as in for a period longer than 2 months i made it my only club of work. one of these clubs was my first club, which i loved dearly and was perfect for just starting but it was also one of teh most ghetto clubs in CLE so i had to leave, 2 of them were my favorite clubs, and one of them (blush) was my least favorite club that terrorized me for like 3 months. if i am not a huge fan of hte club i am much happier knowing that i wont be there next week... if i knew i would be there next week then i would get pissed off and fail at life.
but yea, i really dont advocate staying in clubs that make you uncomfortable. I dont know if Charlie or Britney has worked in any super high mileage 2 way contact nude clubs, but if you have it would change your perspective i think. i used to be more of the attitude of i can walk into any building and bank, but 3 months of misery has made me a lot pickier about where i will stay to work. hence why i have begun the club hop all over again. it will be worth it after i sift through and finally find a new place that works for me :).
also, i know this is going to get laughed at, but despite the failing economy, Cleveland treated me pretty well last summer. I would almost consider going back there to work if i didnt hate living there. But it treated me well enough to buy a BMW with some spare money i made over the summer. Also my main club was mentioned in that "land of thousand dollar nights" or whatever thread. its not a guaranteed grand a night, but it was solid. and i think if i went back there now that my skillz are better i would make double what i did last summer (didnt know how to sell hours last summer, only half hours and sometimes extending them).
So yea, to make this clear... i preferred dancing in Cleveland to Austin or where i am now (another city mentioned a lot on this board). My club was light contact and had good customers.
But yea, it means you would have to live in cleveland. ill take my awesome living situation now with my less than ideal work situation over living in cleveland and working at a club that i really liked. But the fact that i feel this way should tell you that you never quite know where you will find gold ;).

I do too! At a new club I'm always energized and ready to hit the ground running ... that is if I'm digging the vibes of the club. When I'm at a club steady (meaning 3 - 4 nights a week) for 3 months + I get burnt out and don't feel on top of my game anymore ... hence me switching up clubs recently ... totally recharging my batteries.
but yea, i really dont advocate staying in clubs that make you uncomfortable.
Ditto! A gal I know in Vegas convinced me to try her club. She got the housefee waived for my first night so I thought why not. As soon as I got into the dressing room I knew it wasn't the place for me. I thought I was being a bit premature so I got dressed and went on the floor. OMG, my gut instincts were correct. I couldn't put it into words but I knew this was NOT the club for me, regardless, I stayed ... and lasted 2 hours before I was ready to head out the door. She tried to convince me to stay ... she loves that club ... and I started getting kind of pissed off ... NO MEANS NO ... I do NOT like your club, nothing personal ... I'M OUT! So the moral of my story ... what one dancer loves, another dancer my dislike/loathe/hate. Different clubs work for different dancers ... that's why there's a variety of clubs to choose from.
also, i know this is going to get laughed at, but despite the failing economy, Cleveland treated me pretty well last summer. Well I'm not laughing at Cleveland when you were able to buy a BMW and have extra $$ ... I'm gonna high five you and say CLEVELAND ROCKS ;)
So yea, to make this clear... i preferred dancing in Cleveland to Austin or where i am now (another city mentioned a lot on this board). My club was light contact and had good customers.

My quest right now ... where is my awesome living situation (?) ... BUT I would still like to work in my home base city AND travel elsewhere to work and make $$ to put in the bank :) Of course traveling expenses IS the main factor. My quest continues ;D

it's a fun quest though isn't it? I just got my manager to agree to let me dance when I could fit it around my other job (yeahhh picked up a full time salary job that actually uses my degree) ..will continue to dance a couple of weekends a month though. Just in case the salary job doesn't excite me after my usual shelf life of six weeks

I tend to travel back and forth between the same clubs, so even though I'm traveling....I've worked there before.
