I pay $200/week for a room in a two bedroom apartment in the inner suburbs. Allows me to be in a good area and still save for my own place at the same time.

I wish I knew the cities that go with each rent. I moved to Nola and live downtown in a very nice that is very safe(can be big issue in NO). Renting here is not easy, especially trying to do it from another state, places go quickly here! I pay $1500 with everything.

Wow, I miss the rent I used to pay the first time I posted in this thread lol!

I moved to a new city and now I pay $600 for my bedroom in a 3 bedroom apartment, plus utilities which run around $60/month.

I pay $459 plus water and electricity in well sized one bedroom. I got it for a steal and if I decide to stay (which I'm not) it would go up to over $600, which is also a really good price for my neighborhood. I'm looking to find a place closer to the center of the city. Thank god Arizona was basically the start of the housing crisis, everything is dirt cheap here.

Ive moved around a bit in the last 10 years and have paid $350 for an amazing, brand new 3 bedroom place in Motown WV (split 3 ways, a one bedroom with Jacuzzi and skylight was $500) nothing but garbage included, $1200 for a crappy old tiny 1 bedroom apt in NJ, nothing included, $690 for a short term lease on a very nice 2 bedroom in NC, nothing included. I currently pay around $660 for an old but spacious 2 bedroom in WV, electric included. All these are per month, btw.

About $3,000/month for an unspectacular 1 bedroom apartment in manhattan. I paid $1250 for a much nicer 2 bedroom apartment in Vegas. I also paid $1500 for an awful studio apartment in the Lower East Side of Manhattan last year. The place was 350 square feet and I could hear and smell everything my neighbors did, ditto the bar across the street. My first apartment ever was off campus in college. I had 2 roommates & paid $375 plus utilities. I think I pay that now just for utilities (including cell phone, wifi...).

$900 a month for a 2 bed, 2 bath, 1100 sq ft condo in a very nice neighbourhood of Colorado Springs. The low cost of living here blows my mind.

$550 for a one bedroom with only water included. I'm moving soon to another apt somewhere nearby though and trying to pay less than $500 a month because I know I can. It's a shame I don't have my shit together more because houses here go for the price of a new car.

$575 for a tiny, TINY apartment here in Chicago. No utilities included and no washers/dryers in building.

$425 a month for 624 square foot one bedroom apartment in a gated community. Like a previous poster said, AZ is cheap as hell. Of course, there are constantly shootings in my neighbrohood (including a cop shooting a guy in a wheelchair 8 times in broad daylight, killing him, right across the street from my complex just two weeks ago). So I guess you get what you pay for.

$1715 1br/1 bath plus utilities. Although, I am married and I also travel to where the money is best during seasons/events, so take that into consideration.

$945/month, 1600 sq ft condo, 2 BR, 2 BA, attached garage. 2 walk in closets, washer/dryer, kitchen w/ all appliances, fireplace, patio, etc. Very nice neighborhood in the Midwest, lots of retirees in my neighborhood, non-existent crime.

I need to move. Seems Manhattan is the only place more expensive than here. I forget how expensive Miami is till the yearly rent thread comes up heehee!

Btw... Mine is 950 for a tiny 1bd/1bth apt, nothing inc. No dishwasher, community w/d.

Place before this...2bd/1bth $1300 no dishwasher or laundry nothing inc. Moved cause rent was going up.

Add about 150 electric, 20 water, cable and internet 100 (I have the most basic package) ... And basically to live in my lil apt is about $1200.

I need to move.

I pay approx. $660 for a huge 3 bedroom apartment in a nice (not the most expensive/fashionable but nice and safe) area.I live in mexico city.I was considering moving back to london at some point but after looking at the rental prices I dont think that is gonna be happening unless my boyfriend is gonna pay ALL the rent.It was roughly $1500 minimum for a studio/tiny 1br.Even in areas which were not so great/central.Wow!!!what i could get in mexico for this......

As soon as I finally close on an apartment I will have a solid number. But the approximate amount would be between 800 and 900 for a two bedroom

i pay $1020 for a one bedroom and 1.5 bath. i think its a steal considering i have a closed in garage, 2 gyms, gorgeous pool and hot tub, steam room, amazing mountain views, granite counter tops, real tile floors in both bathrooms and kitchen and security at the security gate. plus it looks like a resort.

$1200 for a 3 bed/2.5 bath townhouse in S. Fl..dishwasher, stackable W/D..new carpet and appliances when I moved in....I just hate my kitchen (old cabinets) and bathrooms (old fixtures/tile, no bath in master)...I would like to move but all the rents have gone up in my area by at least $100 so 3 beds in apt complexes are $1400-$1500...schools are great, parks galore and I live across the street from police and fire depts..only water included so pay for electric and cable

Where in s fl though? Like in Miami you could maybe get that in Homestead but that's an hr drive from Miami life. Lauderdale is cheaper than Miami but still not quite that big a difference... Way west of 95 I would guess though?

This thread's scary :( I'm living in an absolute shithole at the moment. It has no hot running water, junk everywhere, it's dark because the lighting's dodgy.
It has a washer and dryer though, the bed's comfy, and it's free....

$700 + electricity and internet for a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom condo. They originally asked me for $850 and it goes for over $1,000 during the winter, but I know someone who knows someone and I got a really good deal on it.

Lol okay... I was part hopeful but part grounded. I used to live in west Kendall where I was in a 3/2 for 1500... No one would visit me and I hardly got invited to stuff cause people said the drive was too far. :( That was about 3yrs ago too so I'm sure the price has gone up.

I *really* lucked out with the place I'm in now that is right by UM yet crazy cheap. Wherever an apt opens up its usually gone within a few days and there's a waiting list for the 2bd apts.

I live in the DMV and pay $1600 per month for a 2bd 1.5 bath town home, utilities included. Of course it comes out of our BAH (military) so I don't pay shit but it's friggin' only 888sqf with thin walls. My first apartment was a newly remodeled old abandoned home that they made into a tri-plex. It was nice at $425 but they didn't think about their mice infestation in the basement coming through older vents. I loved having my own place but the mice and ants in the summer drove me out.

Do you actually pay your rent weekly? you have the option most of the time to pay either weekly, fortnightly, or monthly, depending on the owner/agent. but when your applying they always show the rent amount per week.
ive been paying weekly, but now ive moved to a new apartment where im going to be paying fornightly. i actually dont mind paying weekly or fortnightly as id probably spend my rent and have the mentality that id make it up on the weekend which would only cause serve anxiety. allows me to keep in my budget easier each week :)

$550 just for the rent on a small 1 bedroom with vaulted ceilings, plus utilities and pet rent- comes out to about $650/month. But that's in the Midwest (Iowa/Nebraska/Kansas) area.
I don't know how you ladies deal with $900+ for rent where you're at!! That's a LOT of cam shows! :P

I don't rent, but in this city, I've found it nearly impossible to find a place in what I would consider a decent neighborhood for under $1000/month, not including utilities. (That's for a one bedroom or studio.....go for two and you're looking at $1600, minimum.) I often wonder what kind of jobs people must have to be able to afford those prices.....I know I wouldn't have been able to with my previous job! (And I had a pretty good job, too.)

I live in FL and pay $505 for a 1 bedroom/bath....its the smaller version of the 1 bedroom my complex offers and is only 500 sq feet...it basically consists of 2 rooms, my bedroom and living room...no hallway the bedroom and living room share one wall (the bathroom is in the bedroom kitchen in the living room...The $505/month just includes rent no utilities...Its okay nothing fancy..I live in a college town tho where prices can get outrageous (the complex next to mine has 1 bedroom/1baths going for $1000+ a month and they aren't big...)

Before I signed for this place I was going to get a studio for $500 with ALL ultilities(internet, cable, elec, water..) but it was only one big room and I need the seperate living room/bedroom so me and boyfriend have space...luckily I did bc I could not be camming in an studio with him...oh yeah plus the studio didnt have a over/stove...they suggested getting a hotplate...but it was a deal breaker...

Where in FL though (you dont have to say lol its a rhetorical question :) ) Just that, you would not find something like that in a populated city. We only have a few like Miami, Lauderdale, Tampa, Orlando, (okay, maybe Palm Beach too, but thats already iffy to me...its peaceful and elderly) those are the only cities people tihnk of, but considering FL is a *huge* state that leaves a lot of places to live. I guess, I dont want anyone to hear FL and that rent and think they can live in Miami..or heck even Tampa :D at those rates..unless I guess they go to Homestead or Wesley Chapel of course but thats like, a day drive to get into the city to do anything :D Its funny to me actually, when I tell people FL literally is mostly everglades and farms...but they think were just Disney and South Beach hehe! But all those oranges have to come from *somewhere* right?! ;D

My boyfriend purchased a home two years ago, and our mortgage is $990 a month for a 3 bed/2.5 bath + loft home in Las Vegas. Utilities go anywhere from about 200-400 a month extra (internet, gas, electric, water, sewer, garbage & HOA fees). We also have a 2 car garage and a decent sized back yard & front yard. Not too bad considering a 2 bed apartment in a nice area in Vegas can run you $1,000 and up.

$300 to live with mom and dad lol. It helps them out and is helping me achieve a good savings and hopefully a set of boobies to top it off :p and it's not so bad eating home cooked meals! But before that I was paying a discounted rate of $620 for a one bed.
