I didn't read all of the posts (so sorry if someone already said this) but I think a lot of times it has to do with how your confidence is... for instance, I'm not heavily tattooed (one big piece shoulder to shoulder on my back, back of my neck, behind my ear, and foot--frankly the only one guys usually notice is the backpiece since the others are hidden by hair/shoes) but I work with 2 heavily tatted girls and I think a lot of it is how you present yourself. If you walk around hunched over and looking insecure then guys pick up on that, however if you walk with your head up then I think it just makes you look better overall. Ink or no ink, I've seen girls with low confidence do poorly when girls who have a better attitude are doing dance after dance. I think if you approach a custy while thinking in your head "i wonder if my tattoos are going to bother him, etc" then they will. Sure, some guys just aren't into girls with tats; it's no diff than the guys who want a girl with a big ass, or only natural boobs, or whatever. But most of the guys I've met don't really care about the tats once they realize you are nice/sweet/have a great ass/whatever. Just rock what you have and go by the old saying "fake it til you make it"--I find that when I think positively then the reactions I get from customers are much more postive :D I think some guys are just intimidated by girls with a lot of tats and you just need to make yourself approachable :)

AGREED! WELL SAID!
I don't even think about my ink at work ... well not when I'm on the floor looking for someone to hustle. When I'm on stage I actually make a point of posing/standing/dancing certain ways to accentuate my ink ... here it is, want to see it? ;) Once in a while a custy will walk up to the stage to get a better look at my ink ... I get a tip and a compliment ... that always makes me feel good ;D
I totally agree w/ the confidence part ... ink or no ink. I absolutely LOVE my ink. It took a long time till I could finally get it ... funny how being married a woman looses ownership of her body/life and is not allowed to do w/ her body as she pleases. Needless to say when I got divorced I got my ink ;D Part of why I have A LOT of ink is claiming ownership of MY body/life. Also I'm an artist (I paint), so it's also an extension of my artistic nature. I've had some custys tell me they usually don't like ink on a woman but for some reason on me it's attractive and they like it. I'm always pleasantly surprised when this happens. I've always wondered if this type of compliment happens because of how much I truly love my ink ... there's something to be said w/ one puts out subconsciously.

EXCELLENT! ;D
Good mood definitely helps! Were you in a different head space, meaning NOT worried about your ink and just focused on work?
Oh ... I'm wondering if you decided not to wear the fishnet top?
Yeah I think that must have been it. I just decided to "pretend" in my mind like I had no tattoos, and it seemed to work.
I guess our minds and our mood/mental state have way more to do with things than I realized.
And no, I did not wear the fishnet top at all this week. I ended up having a decent week (a little over $800) considering that Friday and Saturday night were ghost town status.

Hi, we exist!!
I'm not sure if I would be consider heavily tattooed; I have a piece that encompasses my entire upper outer right thigh, one on each of my feet, and the backs of my calves. Lots of girls in NOLA have many, many tattoos! Mine are oftentimes a catalyst for dances; men come up to my stages frequently with a couple bucks and ask stories about them, and ask me to come sit with them.
Happened again tonight by the way, and i sold a room because of them!
Then again, I have been told I have a very sweet face ( fluffy lips and big ol' anime eyes) so that doesn't hurt. Rock those tattoos out girl- I'm getting more!!

Awesome ... you solved your problem! And it must be freeing NOT to have to wear the fishnet top and be able to wear what ever you want.
Yes our mood/mental state has soooooo much to do w/ our $$ outcome. My head was totally messed up last week and usually I can pull myself out of it but I couldn't and my $$ result proved it ... not good. I'm going to a different club tonight for what I call an ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT and if the gods shine upon me have a better $$ result! :crossfing
Keep up the great work sweetie! :)

Good work on your recent successful shift! I would definitely agree not to hide your tattoos with fishnets or any other piece of clothing. If you want to experiment, go to a new club with dermablend or another cosmetic which covers tattoos and see how you do over a week or two. That will give you a different perspective to let you know if your particular tats on YOU are hindering your money or not, if you can try to have an even mindset throughout your endeavors at a new club.
I tried this for a different reason (and stayed at a new club for over a month!) and was able to hone my hustle as a side benefit because it was such a hard hustle club. However, I also got a glimpse into how much more I could make in the same county, just with different customers of greater financial means and different ideas of beauty that were beneficial to me)
There are several girls in my club in Los Angeles who have one, two, or several tattoos and I notice that the ones who have very obvious tattoos or many seem to do very well. I don't have tattoos or any piercing other than my ears so I can't speak from any personal experience but I have seen the dance sheet and noticed certain tatted girls beaming from ear to ear on a consistent basis.
For your attitude and self-confidence..From your picture, you do have a very innocent look so the tattoos are naturally going to surprise people. If I were you, I'd play the mysterious vamp with a naughty side and play on the dichotomy of girl next door/devious vixen theme. Like, maybe dancing to innocent seeming music, but with dark makeup and slow movements or the reverse, dark, gothic music and sweet, timid dance moves.
It may sound cheesy, but if you can create an effective persona, especially one that has a sense of humor, that will resonate with the male psyche. You're an enigma-different and interesting, not the standard Barbie stereotype.
The dancers I know with tattoos are generally very nice, but they always give off a somewhat bitchy vibe that both customers and dancers like and respect. Think of a Jessica Rabbit type but with tattoos. Sultry and mysterious and hinting at a wild side while grinning, albeit sparingly, like a Cheshire cat!
Good luck on your future dancing nights! Be a persona, a character, and don't worry about whether or not your tattoos have anything to do with anything. They are a part of you. Own them and thrive!

I have been dancing for five years or so, and currently have my feet, tge back of one leg, ribs, neck and a full sleeve...I'm also pretty much always the highest earner at my club. It isn't fantastic, because the city I live in doesn't do champagne rooms, so it's always dances, but it still shows that you can be the best...a lot of them are fetishists, but a lot more are older guys who want to talk about when they were wild and crazy, or suits who want someone they would never date in real life...and every younger guy goes nuts for them! Keep being gorgeous and inked girls!

a lot of them are fetishists
A note on the fetishists......this is a bigger market than I realized and one we can tap into for some pretty good bank.
Most fetishists I have met are all very unsuspecting and alot of them don't come right out and reveal themselves. I find that most often times they work their fetish into the conversation somehow looking for us to pick up on it. Last night I started chatting with a business-type looking guy in his late 40's, and he revealed to me in one word that another he's attracted to girls with tattoos because we must "love pain" and he was into that. I was about to close the deal when I got called up on stage, and when I came back he had to take his drunk friend back to the hotel >:( He was also from out of town so he told me unfortunately he wouldn't be back. DAMN!
Normally middle age white men dressed very nice are the culprits. Last night we had one in the club who was buying panties from girls for $70 a pop. He looked like a basic average 40-something year old white guy in a polo shirt, glasses and jeans. Nice dude, not creepy at all but just into bigger girls :-\ So I wasn't able to sell him my chonies.

About fetishists being normal-looking - absolutely!!! One of my favorite regulars is a 20yr old, clean cut, university student. He looks like he should be my little brother, but he is into some hardcore stuff...a friend of mine does some fetish porn and used him for videos and that little cutie can take pain!!
On a side note, because of that, it helps to be able to dirty talk for that kind of turn-on...I lost a good few custys because I felt so awkward telling them that they were useless worms etc etc...and now I'll pull it out without hesitating! It's totally not me at all, but I'll figure out every fetish I might come across so that I can pretend to love it too...and then when you hit the guy that wants you to talk about how you love giving footjobs...easy money!!!

If you think you have to work harder, then you will. It's the whole Law of Attraction thing. Stay positive! If guys are asking about your tattoos, why not answer? It's a great conversation starter, and they may be slightly intimidated by you, want a dance, and they're trying to break the ice. Just remember to be as friendly (or more) than the girl next door types.
Have you considered modeling and joining Suicide Girls? It might help you put your tattooed beauty into perspective. :)
i was actually asked to join suicide girls through myspace lol not sure i have enough tatoos though as i only have 2 peices and a third that's getting removed (mistake i made when younger; you know lol).

---Off topic. I apologize.---
Yeah that's why I was asking. Because the site says "Your pictures should give an accurate impression of what you look like. You do not need to be nude, but they must show your face clearly. Try to let your personality shine through."
http://suicidegirls.com/girlsfaq/
Honestly everywhere I've looked on the site I've seen no mention that you have to have tattoos and/or dyed hair and/or piercings. Though the front page does say "SuicideGirls (http://suicidegirls.com/#descOverlay) is a community that celebrates ALTERNATIVE BEAUTY (http://suicidegirls.com/girls/) and alternative culture from all over the world."
But they are known for their hot tattooed girls and such...

Sg sucks. There are a couple threads around here that talk about what shady business people they are.
Harleigh HellKat
06-10-2010, 10:33 AM
I second that. There are way better companies to work for that do the exact same thing that DON'T require you to be exclusive and aren't flooded with girls.
It wouldn't be bad just for publicity or starting out if you could model elsewhere but nooooo.
Stats:
899 N American girls
319 Europeans
247 'other'
63 from S. America
3 from Oceania
That's a lot of girls. I think it used to be more but a lot have left I'm sure. Basically, they lock you into a contract, and they pay you like 500 a set I think... but it could take MONTHS for your set to be approved, IF it's approved at all. If it's not, then you just wasted time and money on a photographer, outfits, makeup, etc. They post your rejected set under 'rejected' and you don't get paid for it. So basically you're nude on the internet for free, or damn near free. I've been a longterm fan of buringangel.com, if you're willing to do more hardcore content.
daniella_maria
06-10-2010, 11:49 AM
You don't have to do hardcore to be on burningangel.com, but yeah, it is known for that.
Harleigh HellKat
06-10-2010, 11:59 AM
True, but I think you'd have better chances with them if you did. I'd love to do burning angel, but my only limits are I don't want to do boy/girl and anal.
I'm currently looking into Godsgirls right now. Their DIY sets seem like an easy way to make a little pocket change in between shooting with a real photog.

Yeah, suicidegirls are over rated. I've been on there since 2007 and only have one set up there because it feels impossible to find a photographer now.
They seemed to have gotten extremely picky too.
I like godsgirls better too. More freedom.

I met her about four years ago in l.a. she really wanted me to do gg. something about her really bothered me; I can't put my finger on what though. the site is owned by her daddy's company; offworld media, which specializes in niche porn. You better believe they would resell pics. She's also extremely full of herself. I really don't like her, she has terrible energy.

Oh yeah, I'd like to add that talking to annaliese of gg was just as mind numbing as talking to missy of sg.

I couldn't find deviant nation's website. Well I found it, rather it wouldn't open in my browser... are they down or something?
That sucks about GGs. I've considered BrokenDollz as well, but their site doesn't seem as refined as some of the others... and I'm really not sure of the pay of any of these sites, minus SG and I know theirs sucks.
daniella_maria
06-10-2010, 07:27 PM
I just found out that they went under. so did broken dolls. I dont know(but I can I can find out if you'd like) what gg pays as of recently; I do know that they only pay 60bux for DIY sets, which is a fucking joke.
Harleigh HellKat
06-10-2010, 07:34 PM
Yeah, I'm assuming it's a lot more for sets with a photog. At least they aren't exclusive though, could you imagine those prices but an exclusive contract??
daniella_maria
06-10-2010, 07:59 PM
It's not a lot more at all. I'll find out. I think its like 300 bux for five sets, which is also a fucking joke.

I was top girl at my old club before it turned to shit and I quit/got fired--making $4000/week. I am not exactly "very heavily" tattooed, but I have almost one sleeve finished now and one about half done plus a chest piece and my neck done, my palms, my hand, a small piece on my back and on my calf. How did I do it? Covered them all up all the time. I wore lots of necklaces over my chest piece so that it was hidden, I wore my hair down so my neck piece was covered and wore a black knit pullover while on the floor to hide my arm tattoos. I even sometimes kept it on onstage. And when I was dancing, I definatley took it off but the dance areas were so dark, no one could even see the tattoos.
I had regulars that saw me 10 times and never knew I even had a single tattoo! I was careful to put the black knit jacket thing on as soon as I hit any brighter light.
It also helps that I have a baby face and look really young. SO when the tattoos are taken out of the picture, I look very "innocent", which is partially why I got them in the first place, lol. I got so sick of looking "innocent"! I do have a nose ring and red/black hair, but in the dark light red/black hair just looks black and the nose ring is so small no one notices. I have a seamless ring in so there is no ball.
Other than that, when I hustled guys, I would always sit super close to them or on their lap and try to always look them in the eye so that their eyes would remain on my eyes, instead of on my (tattooed) body, and I'd flirt with them so much that they'd not get a chance to see anything but my face and my eyes (which are nice, I think). AND if they did happen to see a tattoo, and wanted to discuss it, I'd quickly change the subject. I HATE HATE discussing my tattoos because it's so asinine and boring since there is no way I can truly tell them what the tattoos mean--and I really don't want to. Plus, it's a way for the man to avoid the lapdance--which is really what needs to be discussed, but obviously not overtly.
It's possible to be "top girl" and tatted up--you just gotta pretend you don't have any tattoos and you have to cover them up strategically. That, and you gotta hustle HUSTLE and never take no for an answer---charm them into submission then keep them hooked until that money's gone. HOnestly that ability is MUCH more important than any looks or physical qualities--the ability to make a man fall head over heels in love with you--that's GOLD. Absolute GOLD.

i have quite a bit of tattoos and i make quite a bit of money. over a thousand a week, and i work alot of day shifts. true, i dress like a stripper at work, have stripper hair and do my maekup tastefully. when you look nice, tattoos arent that big of a deal. the only times ive had problems were in barbieesque clubs..but even then, i can usually find my niche. be engaging, look nice, and have a decent hustle and youre fine.

THIS!
That is a great suggestion about sitting close and engaging their eyes to lock into yours. I am gonna start doing this....tonight. As far as the talking about tattoos, I hate it, I really, really do. I am gonna start changing the subject to something sexy and bring the convo back around to getting a dance....I have been reading alot on the "ABC"....always be closing. Keeping the conversation centered around the sale and not letting it go astray. I also agree with you that alot of guys are probably using the tattoo questions to divert the conversation there and avoid the subject of getting a dance. Maybe some of them are genuinely interested, but I think it's few and far between. Either way, I don't want to sit and talk about my tattoos. Everyone has their opinions on the tattoo conversation, some say it's a good thing and to humor the customers and just talk about them.....but I really don't want to. It just ruins my sale EVERY time.

I'm sorry! I didnt mean to threadjack...
On topic though, I have 35% of my body tattooed, and I have been a top earner at almost every club I've worked at in the last 10 years. Sometimes I have to work harder and prove that I'm approachable, and sometimes its just too easy. The best advice I can give you is to really listen to custies, so you can figure out what they want to hear, say it, and make the sale.
I wish you nothing but luck, and again, sorry for helping to threadjack your topic. I really didn't mean to.
