You have blue eyes, I told you this a long long time ago, go buy Loreal Bronze Star eyeshadow RIGHT NOW!!! THIS: http://www.drugstore.com/qxp179576_333181_sespider_1_1/loreal_wear_infinite_duos/eye_shadow_bronze_star_862_perle_perle.htm

No joke, it will make your eyes look soooooo blue, my mom and sisters, we all wear this color, it makes our eyes pop!

Every picture you post is an improvement. Even since your very first pictures, it does seem that you have lost weight, particularly in your face. Keep it up!

I have two designer eyeshadows that are exactly the same color as this palette. a couple of them are similar but shimmery from Lancome, and I have two colors very similar to it in a smokey brown palette I got from MAC. How do you apply it on your eye, JD?

Agreed, especially the hair. In the first pictures it looked really stringy, the curl gives it volume. It does appear as though you've lost weight since the first photos you posted of yourself as well.

I'd burn that red dress though. Keep up the improvement!

Edited to say by first photos I mean the first nude photos posted prior to beginning dancing.

I've found some that were close to this color, but there's just something about this one in particular, they lace it with magic fairy dust or something because when I wear this eyeshadow I get soooo many compliments on my eye color. I bought almost the same color, MAC Bronze, but it still wasn't the same to me!

Good eyeshadow brushes are your friend.

This: http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/spp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CAT145&PRODUCT_ID=383 to just apply it across your lid.

This: http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/spp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CAT145&PRODUCT_ID=386 to smudge the eyeliner/eyeshadow on the bottom for a smoky look, and to use a darker brown eyeshadow as an eyeliner on the top for a really smoky brown eye.

This: http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/spp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CAT145&PRODUCT_ID=265 to blend it along your crease and up to your browbone.

And then of course this: http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/Itemid=2660/Pigment_in_Vanilla/MAC/Eye_Shadow/ To put right underneath your brow and in the inner corners of your eyes. It goes on sheer and is buildable for how dramatic of a look you wish to achieve. I also put black eyeliner on the inner bottom rim, or waterline of my eye, this completes the whole look for me.

Here's me with all these! This is just one eyeshadow color and one brow bone highlighter blended really well.... Try it! It's really easy and looks amazing!

That color really brings out your eye color! :D

OP- I forgot what your eye color was, but blues benefit from golds and browns, greens from pink/red/purple tones, and brown is kinda neutral and can be played up with several colors... I have green eyes and if I put on a dark blue they look brown.

^^ I second the golds, and silvers work too if your eyes have a large amount of grey in them like mine do. This makeup company, Nyx, has great products and they're cheap as shit too, here's a few of my favourites:

http://www.kaboodle.com/hi/img/b/0/0/61/1/AAAAC5rqloAAAAAAAGEZpQ.jpg Chrome eyeshadow in charcoal.
http://www.makeupgeek.com/wp-content/uploads/black.jpg Their black has a nice subtle shimmer to it.
http://www.xenomart.com/product/NYX-LP/NYX-LP_m.jpg The gold one is Canary, gorgeous colour.
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kDxgLKJoulE/SdIkpDJcJbI/AAAAAAAAA3s/5eC1YLe4XB4/s400/DSC01366-1.jpg The black liquid liner kicks ass.
Great tutorial using the Nyx products, this is how I do my makeup for work more or less.

Sorry, I'm a total convert- and the eyeshadows are like $4 a pop and last forever!

Oh and I was blessed by the skin gods, so this is all I use for foundation, Maybelline Shine Free Powder. JD gave this to me because she wasn't using it, and I fell in love with it:

http://cn1.kaboodle.com/hi/img/2/0/0/c8/d/AAAAAgKVtTUAAAAAAMjQdg.jpg

ya silvers are great on grey ish eyes. i have grey eyes with a bit of a blue hue, no green so silver is fabulous. i havent tried gold in forever... i used to be pale as fuck before i discovered the wonder of fake tans and gold looks awful on really cool pale skin. maybe bronze or gold would work on me now since i have a fake tan...

Ok here we go- all dolled up and nowhere to go because my taxi never came and husband can't leave work to come get me. I really don't have a big nose. My webcam is uber shitty and I had to get my face really close in order for you kids to see what I've done here. Also, my mouth is not that small, even though said husband does tell me I look like a Japanimation character. This is how I look on any given night, without the WTF AM I PUSHING TEH RIGHT BUTTONZ look of course.

I try and play up the smoky eye because I look so young in the first place- I attached a picture of me without makeup, it's from about two years ago but I still look the damn same. I spend a LOT of time on mascara, I always make sure to get the little lashes in the corners and do the bottoms meticulously. I don't wear falsies often, and since my eyes are essentially steel grey it helps with dimension.

And yes, I always make that face because I'm not photogenic.

(INSERT GENDER/PERSONS CAREER TITLE/RACE/ETC) DOES NOT ALWAYS = (INSERT VERB/DESCRIPTION/ETC).

EXAMPLES-

strippers act dumb
men are assholes
asians are smart
men in kansas love curvy women
women like the color pink

etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.

this has been a public service announcement.

PS. I am, in general, "on your side" in this thread autumn. This is just a giant pet peeve of mine. In fact, that type of thinking is what leads people to make the shitty statements made earlier in this thread. Huge generalizations about what certain people like/whats hot/etc.

I'm not saying there isn't a "standard" but, you know, lets be reasonable.

Autumn Lily

I'm not saying you're wrong either, but the way previous statements came across (TO ME) was that regionally, tastes are different. Not to say that Kansas men don't care about how their women look, but that overall tastes are different. Like I said, skinny girls still do very well in Kansas and men still appreciate them, but it's not like they don't appreciate thicker girls any less. That's all. Men like curvy girls in Kansas.

i think you look hot!

i am also kind of offended by the idea that if ur slightly overweight u dont care how you look? just b/c some women prefer to eat and not obsess over their weight and dig themselves into an early stress related grave does not mean u r unattractive.

there r many skinny, thick and even "fat" women i consider attractive. imo it is really how u hold urself and how u keep up w/ ur appearance although i think when u r big, u kind of do have to go the extra yard to make sure ur more on point than every1 else.

Yes, curled hair is pretty much rockin. If there's one thing I love about my pride 'n joy (HAIR! ;D), it's that it keeps a shape so easily. I don't need to straighten it if I blow dry it straight and it holds a tight curl for 2 days. Of course, Lottabody setting lotion helps an awful lot too!

Hnnngh I'm off to drool over roller sets s'more.

I believe 'sexy curvy' vs 'fat' depends on where the fat accumulates on your body.

malayataylor
06-18-2010, 02:01 PM
Yup... that's it means..

I think it depends on your club, the customers, where you live.
Everyone has their own idea on "good money".
I'd be happy if I left with $250 in 7 hours.

Lottabody?? I've been looking for good lotions to help set the curls without making them stiff.

Yes! I swear by it - you can find it in Sally's (I think, silly Americans with your other stores) and it's bright blue - if you can't find it, try the ethnic section. You dilute it to the instructions on the back, and use it for wet sets. You can leave it in all day or spend the time blowdrying your set no problem. It doesn't CRUNCH. It doesn't make your hair all stiff and stuff, once you're curled it's like your hair grows that way. Of course, it washes out easily. But I can make it last 2 days if I have to, simply because it holds those curls up.

Harleigh HellKat
06-18-2010, 08:40 PM
I used it when I did hair. Mostly on ethnic hair but it worked amazing... I'm sure it will work as well on Caucasian hair.

This reminds me... I want to buy hot rollers so I can rock the old school pin up look.

sxcbbw
06-18-2010, 09:07 PM
It works amazingly on my hair - if I pincurl it with Lottabody, my hair (two inches past my nipples) will be so tightly curled it doesn't touch my shoulders, until I brush it out.

OMG ya'll. She's going to be stripping for 2 more months max, per her posts. Why does she need to invest $1000 in contacts and extentions? If she can make $250 a night, 3 nights a week, 2 more months....that's 9 grand in her account, and she's out? What's the big deal?

If she decides to stick with the industry, then the advice may be useful..not that she ever asked for it.

But, really...REALLY! Have none of you all ever worked in a club where one or two average looking girls banked and made all the money?

How about when you started stripping? I know that when I first started dancing, I had mad debt to pay off. I didn't have funds for extensions and fancy clothes. But the money was still good. I'd like to see some pics of everyone here from when they first started stripping, to stripping 5 years later.

THEN you can tell this girl, a dancer of few months, something. Somehow, I doubt anyone here looked their best when they first started...

True true, very true. I only plan on doing this during summer months. Contacts I've considered for years even before I started dancing, and I would just get clear contacts if I did get them, not colored ones. I'll probably steer clear of extensions.

I do only have 2 months dancing experience, as well.

Harleigh HellKat
06-18-2010, 11:17 PM
I know how to make cheap extensions... costs about 30-50 bucks for clip ins that won't damage your hair and can be used indefinitely. Super easy to make if you're interested in any pointers. I agree with KS, it's tough to invest large sums of money if you are temporarily dancing. Oh and I looked TERRIBLE when I started. :D And the money thing... it'd definitely not as good as it used to be so investing in cosmetics is really hard. I'm a career dancer, model, and performance artist who want to stay in the game a while, and I even find it hard funding my wardrobe.

Omg really?... wow

Yeah. :D
We all need a certain amount to fit our lifestyle, and our expenses.
I work at a really tiny club and only work 2-3 days a week.
I average about $500 a week. Sometimes $600 if I work a third day......

I'm not the primary income in my household. My husband is. So maybe that's why I don't worry about it so much.

My money is just extra money and savings money.

Between my husband and I, we make enough to live comfortably. We may not live an extravagant lifestyle, but we're not struggling.

We have food, shelter, gas, and money to put away. My son is provided for and taken care of off of the "little" money I make.

That's all that matters to me. :)

Kudos to the girls though who are making $1000's a night. :D
