Yes but every club to turn me away I was hired at a later date. Like initially the Admiral didn't hire me but they later hired me. And, then VIPs didn't hire me but they later hired me. Sometimes changing your hair color can also help you get hired or rejected. I'm always changing my hair from black to blonde all the time. Surprisingly, when I went to sapphire was hired for nightshift first try. Same with rhino in Vegas was hired for 7pm shift first try. And, I've been told those clubs are very hard to get nightshift.

Second time was at the cheetah in atlanta got turned down twice once for bending over the second for not smiling. one club i sent my pics to and never heard back. All the other clubs ive been hired at.

Only got turned down once - by one of the strip pubs that i'd never wanted to work at but everyone kept saying i should try. The place was grim - the girls working there were fat and miserable and the manageress told me my dancing "wasn't up to scratch - you're not our style". I'm a pro dancer and i guess smiling on stage was verboten - particularly as a couple of punters came up to me after i got off stage and asked for dances. I think that probably didn't go down well with them. Meh, i just went and worked somewhere more comfortable where the girls actually smiled and looked as though they wanted to be there.

This year was my first time ever getting rejected. I was so nervous about auditioning at Spearmint Rhino that I put it off for the longest, went and auditioned some time last year and got hired. I left Vegas and dancing for a bit and when I went back this year I knew I was going to work at Rhino but I also wanted to have another club to work at from time to time. I was hired at The Horse, CH3, and Cheetahs previously so I figured I'd try all 3 of those. The Horse told me they weren't hiring, too many girls, too close to summer and they'd recently cut their hours too so I know they were super dead. CH3 hired me on day shift which I saw as a rejection because I'm fit, I have great boobs, and I'd like to think that I am aesthetically pleasing but I am heavily tattooed and black. Cheetah's put me on 5 a.m., LOL but to be fair that's because I had different color hair and the manager that saw me was not one of the managers I'd worked with before, after going in as a customer one night I saw the manager I used to work with and he told me I could come in on night shift whenever I wanted. I auditioned at Treasures just for shits and grins and they didn't hire me either. Went back to SR because I hadn't worked in so long and as soon as I get to John, he's like "You used to work here right, you're good." So the only club that hired me off the bat on a good shift was Rhino. I'm visiting Chicago and going to try my luck at a few clubs here soon, I hope I have better luck because I was starting to think maybe I lost my sparkle.

Nah, please don't think that^..I think a lot of clubs are just slow now, + they prob. get so many girls trying to get hired. Let me know when you come to Chicago, I'll try to help you find a club!

Back when I was dancing, I remember four clubs rejecting 'cause I was "too fat". The first one that rejected me, wasn't so much "the fatness" factor but rather that I was much taller than the other dancers and had huge biceps. The other three? Yes, they flat out told me I was too fat.

The worst part? There were girls who were fatter!!!! Like, huge guts, flabby bodies, "spare tires", muffin tops, fatrolls everywhere, and visible cellulite fat. Even at my (non preggo) heaviest, I looked better than the girls they had at the other three clubs that gave me the "too fat" excuse. Their reason to have so many fatties? "These girls had been here for years, and is not like we can get rid of them".

The only club that I didn't get hired at was a club my sister first started at and said was crazy about only hiring brand new dancers. She said management was psycho about it and if any of the girls worked at another club they were fired for trying to steal customers and girls. I tried the club anyway and told the door guy where else I had worked and currently work and he wouldn't even let me talk to a manager or in the door! I was definitely bummed out and a little embarassed but every other club I have worked at has loved me so it doesn't bother me anymore. It's definitely THEIR loss.

Oh and what's kind of funny is that is the only club I've gone to audition at in 'real clothes' and it's the only club that wouldn't hire me. lol! Every other club I've gone to I've worn some leggings or lounge clothes and have been hired. (I've worked at 10 or so clubs.. some dives some nicer ones.. never been to vegas though)

Ah, sure they could get rid of, I don't buy that^. Anyway, yeah not the weight part, but some of the places I went to I saw real train wrecks there, so I can relate.

I'm here now babe. I'm trying to go out to Stone Park and audition. IDK if I want to try VIP or Pink Monkey or not. Do you happen to know if VIP frowns on large tattoos?

Me and a friend went to a new club once and got turned down at the door. The manager looked at us and said, "You aren't what we're looking for." Ouch! I mustered up a smile and said, "Can we just go ahead and audition? We're really nice girls- no tattoos, no drugs, no drama. Besides we clean up good" He let us come in to audition and we both got hired. Granted, we only got hired for dayshift. I ended up staying into night shift a number of times and doing really well. Then I just started showing up for nights. (This might be effective for clubs that are huge or have lax management). Then a night manager saw me and didn't recognize me and freaked out for 'undermining his authority'. Days were too slow so I stopped working there.
Recently I had my contract 'not renewed' by a club I was at for 10 months due to an image overhaul they are doing. Surmising from the other girls I saw, they want younger girls with a more waif like body.
The main thing is to be confident about YOU. Getting rejected does not mean anything is wrong with you or men don't find you attractive. If you look at history and world culture- standards of beauty are diverse and constantly changing. From what I have seen a lot of club managers have a 'vision' of what they want their club to look like. While this can do well to maintain brand integrity & give customers a sense of security in what to expect, in my opinion, a club where most of the girls are the same 'type' is boring. Working in clubs that have a variety of styles & body types has been more interesting to me as a dancer and I assume would feel the same for male customers. Also, too often, male customers don't necessarily share aesthetic desires of one gm or owner who's building his ideal club image.
At the end of the day you either have to conform to whatever that image is (be it plastic surgery, losing weight, putting in more effort toward your appearance) or find a club that suits the looks you've already got.

Happened to me too. One club only hired petite girls and rejected me because I wasn't tiny. Another club had fat girls but because they were minorities (mostly Puerto Rican)they were afraid to get rid of them because of discrimination.

Yes. Well said! One of the clubs that turned me down, a custy going to his car hit on me outside. He was actually very polite/respectful, & I chatted w/him for a bit. He straight up told me, "I don't like the girls in there now, you're what I like".:)

They weren't lying at The Horse or they would've hired you for sure. They aren't 24 anymore & cut down on girls..I had to hustle my way on to the 3am shift but that club is straight dead...worse than other Vegas clubs.

A few years ago I was turned down by a club for being too tall and muscular, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as they closed down and I ended up getting hired at a club with better clientle.

Ah, sure they could get rid of, I don't buy that^. Anyway, yeah not the weight part, but some of the places I went to I saw real train wrecks there, so I can relate.

I knew some clubs that had gotten rid of dancers who gained too much weight or were pregnant but also some clubs who don't get rid of them due to their regulars. However, it's shitty that a club that has fat dancers (who were thin when they got hired) would turn down a slighty overweight dancer.

Happened to me too. One club only hired petite girls and rejected me because I wasn't tiny. Another club had fat girls but because they were minorities (mostly Puerto Rican)they were afraid to get rid of them because of discrimination.

I'm sure that if I dare to audition at that club they'd reject me too, despite I'm straight from PR. If the staff was mainly 2nd-4th generation, it'd be "understandable": they tend to have some sort of phobia towards the ones who come straight from the island. Seen it first hand with my distant relatives from NY and PA.

A club fired me for a similar reason: they told me some customers were complaining about me saying shit like "who let She-Hulk dance?" or "shave your head and hide those tits, the NFL is drafting people and you look like you belong there". The manager relayed those comments to me: I never heard stuff like that from customers. That club had very low ceilings.
I quickly joined their main competitor and made tons of money there, but there was ocassional drama. The former club had zero dancer drama.

I sent my pics online to a very small club in CA coastal town. The manager offered me to come in and work a Friday night based on my pics and vid. (This is just over a year ago).

The problem was: she had emailed me. I didn't get it until late that Friday night, so I never made it in. I was also told that I could come in and audition on a Tuesday afternoon for a manager named "C". I drove over an hour, got there and "C" wasn't there. So, the acting bartender had no idea I was coming and let me audition. I did. I made tips. She kept telling me I was pretty, blah, blah.

I heard nothing back. NOTHING. So I don't know why.

Besides that club, in the last 8 years, I haven't been turned away....however, two summers ago I was 'fired' for not coming in for a month because I had an injury. And yeah, I was caught laughing behind my manager's back because she was such an angry, stressed out bitch. I did make $$ there, so I guess I should have kept my opinions to myself, lol.::)

I have been hired at all the clubs in Saint Louis.

I went to Indiana with a friend who wasn't in shape and we got turned down from PT's.

I went to Chicago and the first club I tried I think was the Admiral. (not sure it had a big stage then I think one of those bird cages next to it to dance in). I didn't get hired there because of my dancing style. It was too slutty. I wasn't aware of it since I was coming from Saint Louis. I went to VIPs the next day and got hired.

I went to New York. I auditioned at Hustler and didn't get hired. I was discouraged so I went to Queens and got hired at two clubs and decided to go with Gallaghers.

I'm going to be in Detroit in about a month but I'm nervous because I've seen some pics of the girls and they look stunning so not sure if I will get hired at Penthouse etc.... I am 5'0'' with A cup boobs.

I've been hired at a lot of clubs, some supposedly very selective, but there's one that's rejected me two out of four times. I'm pretty sure the issue is that half the managers liked me and the other half didn't. Or they were pissed I left then came back? Who knows. That club isn't all it's cracked up to be either, IMO.

On the other hand, I'm usually one of the thickest dancers at the upscale places I've worked. So many dancers have tried to persuade me not to even bother auditioning at those clubs, but oddly enough aside from that one place not a single manager has turned me down or mentioned my weight..

I've been turned down approximately twice. I've danced at about 9 clubs total in Boston and California. Both of the clubs I got rejected from were in Mass/ New Hampshire.

The New Hampshire club was a small upscale-ish pasty club. When I came to audition, two managers (man and woman) took me into the back office, told me to take off my clothes, turn around, and then (probably after seeing the huge burn scab on my ass I'd acquired the month before) told me to call in a couple weeks for the schedule. They never returned my calls.

The other club was the Cabaret Lounge in Mass (forget where exactly). I was told that they expected new girls to come in and work amateur night every week until they were "invited" to be a regular girl. I made $7 on the amateur night shift, which was about 6 hours. Didn't bother returning, either, as the next day I went to Worcester and got hired at a better (read: more money) club.

Both of these rejections occurred within a month of each other, I think. I had only been dancing about 6 months and didn't really know how to manage my physical appearance yet. Since I moved to California and started learning how to be more of a professional dancer, I haven't gotten turned down from a single club.

I've been turned away only a few times in the whole 12 years I've been dancing. I'm thinking alot of it had to do with the time of year it was & the fact that I showed up past the time frame in which the managers did their hiring for that particular night. I'm always nervous about going into new clubs anyways and the fact that I've ever been rejected doesn't really help my confidence.

I recently got hired at a few places in different cities that I was scared of so my confidence is a little higher than before. I'm not exactly a petite dancer by any means, I have a larger frame & the fact that I'm taller than most girls, I'm always afraid it will hinder my chances of getting in somewhere decent. Jay12, I can't believe those asswagons said that rude shit about you!!! It makes my blood boil when guys expect ALL women to be these tiny petite little breakable objects to look at ,but if some of us aren't we are ugly and should be crucified for it.

I've never been rejected by a club and I've worked at several different clubs all around the country.

I heard the Spearmint Rhino in Vegas only hires girls for 3am shift until you start working at the club for a few months. I've never auditioned there; is it true?
nope, they hired me for the 9 or 10p o'clock shift can't remember but it was a bit slow so I complained and john said I could start coming in at 1 am if I wanted, they rejected me the first time btw and treasures. Otherwise, all Ive been hired at every other club Ive been to.

I have no idea how a dancer could make any real money at The Cabaret when they don't have lap dances. I went in there before. The manager told me the same thing about amateur night. Im sure your missing nothing.

I worked at The Gold Club. They must have recently gotten a house mom. Wasn't one when I was there.

Idk if it was technically a rejection, but.....I went with a friend to check out this new club. Mostly, it was as moral support for her (she was applying for a position as a bartender), but I wanted to see the place as well, and decide whether or not I liked it well enough to audition there. The mgr basically made me fill out an app anyway, even though I told her I was just checking the place out. I never got a call from them afterwards and never bothered to call back and follow up either.

Right, I agree. Also, I think my real value as a dancer is in my stage performance--which they never saw--so they'll never know what they missed out on!

About 5'9"/5'10"...and with heels add about 6 or 7 inches. Most clubs in southeast Virginia have low ceilings so, that made me look even taller! I'm thicker now (and not actively dancing), but even at my thinnest (autumn 2011) I wasn't exempt from rejection because despite I was thin, my arms and back looked quite muscular, and in this day and age there are men who can't fathom that a woman might be more muscular than him.

Ya I know girl, it's sick how men of today fucking think :/ I'm between 5'8-5'9 & around 165 lbs right now which sucks bc I'm usually at my best at 145-150. I'm thicker right now also & I don't think it has hindered my money really. I have had a few guys recently tell me how thick I was & how they loved it and hoped i wasn't offended by that. Psh in a way i was bc I wanna be smaller but whatevs they got dances from me anyway. I work in a club now that's mostly petite framed girls which def makes me feel a little weird but everyone's different. If I could get away with wearing my cute black UGG boots to be less taller & avoid appearing big & intimidating I would!

You reminded me, a friend of mine got rejected from a a club in rural New England & I think it was because she was so tall & curvy. I never understood such a mentality. She is a pretty popular girl where ever she gets to work.

^ i feel like new england is ridiculous like that..the ideal is the average 90s super skinny tall blond with huge gravity-defying boobs, and the top clubs are very strict about that. and those girls are gorgeous, but there are so many other beautiful body type out there, and you gotta go to dives or urban clubs to find them.

I was told "we'll call you" at Skybox when I first moved to Chicago suburbs. Found out later it's a shit hole where they take half your $ anyway. I was put on a "waiting list" the first time I auditioned at my current club and was hired on the spot the second time by a different manager. Like a month ago got the "we'll call you when a spot opens up" shit from Polekatz....I worked there 2 years ago when I was slightly chubbier and brunette. Now I'm a size 2 blonde and got rejected lol! I've auditioned at probably 10 clubs altogether-many I never bothered working at, and never had a problem getting hired anywhere else. I think it really just depends on what manager is working that day, what kind of mood they're in and what THEY like.

First of all... the 3am shift at RhinoLV is NOT BAD! I work at 9pm but I make the big money after 3am. So don't let that get you down! (Also...I gambled all my money away one weekend and had to work a Monday day shift before I left town...it ended up being one of my all time biggest earning shifts).

To answer your question: Yes. I was turned down from 4play in Los Angeles THREE TIMES. Granted, I was struggling with an ED and was bony thin (/emaciated) but I worked at another club at the time and made lots of money. It really really bummed me out. I was actually pretty furious and wrote some nasty things about the club on here to vent lol. I ended up taking a couple years off dancing and then I reaudtioned at a healthy weight and was hired. Even though your hustle is what makes you money once you're hired, to be hired you really have to adjust your look to what they are looking for.

You dodged a bullet, by not getting hired @ SB, which you know's owned by HB right?
Also, @ HB, they falsely advertise for shot girl/waitress..they tell you (if they call you to interview based on your online 'app') that you must work as a dancer after 2 wks time..
They also insist on photographing you in your underwear. Wonder where those pics end up @?::)

Anyway, I read about a qualified guy that applied @ a well known social media site..only to be turned down..later this same site bought his app. for a lot of $$$
Which goes to prove, that bad hiring decisions are made, all the time:)

^Oh yeah I remember them saying they wanted to photograph me in my underwear at the interview.........and I was like "umm FUCK no?" Maybe that's why they didn't hire me, but oh well! I've never had any other club ask to do that before. Fucking weird and creepy!

Ugh I hated Denver, i was in GREAT shape when i auditioned there and I was super tan and I am very cute but somehow I still got turned down at every single club i auditioned at! Penthouse and PT showgirls told me my boobs were unattractive (read: not huge and fake). La Boheme and Diamond Cabaret told me i needed to tighten up my backside. I cried so hard after every time i got turned down because i was STUCK in Denver and needed money to get home to montana! The audition was to strip down in the fluorescent lights of the dressing room and spin in a circle. I have gotten hired in every other city at my number one choice of club but I guess all those places actually let me DANCE to audition. Also i guess i looked a little bit hippie but i was still an attractive hippie lol. I ended up dancing in boulder to get home, it was super easy to get hired there.

I honestly can't believe height would ever be such a big deal! There are some damn near 6' tall girls where I'm currently working and their stature is a big bonus to them. They look like the runway models of the club. And they stand out. There's even a couple regulars that only like the tallest girls. Maybe it's a LA thing...

The only club that's ever rejected me was Bourbon St Circus out here.
They hate tattoos; I have 5 small ones and figured I'd give it a shot anyway since it was close and they attract lots of business guys. They refused to tell me the reason I wasn't hired, but I know that was it, since the app asked "List your tattoos" and "Do you plan on getting more?" The manager read it over while I was changing and did not even watch my audition.

I then went to my current club, where the manager fell all over himself to hire me :D He admitted later that normally he "tests" girls ("Come back in a week" or "Wait here" and returns 3 hours later) but that the minute I walked in he was like "Yes please work for my club". That was sweet.

Noooooooope. SHE (the only female manager I've ever encountered) didn't watch at all. I'm 99% sure it was the tats, because they were all "yeah sure go get changed!" until she read my app.
I got the impression they'd been sued for discrimination or something also, by the way she said "I'm not allowed to give you a reason"... most clubs will outright tell girls to lose weight or whatever. That was weird.
