I am soooooooo irritated with my SO. I went off the pill because I refuse to hold extra weight or scarf more food down because of all the g*ddamn hormones...

Told him I was going off the pill like a month ago, so he would get ready to bust out the rubbers (when the time came).

We are about to get down and dirty, he pops the condom on and *shrinking sound* he starts to go limp.

Told him we are not riding bare, sorry... I left the bedroom embarrased, feeling that I couldn't exite him.

So he sulks. Well we didn't try again that night because I thought we didn't have anymore condoms. Come to find out this morning we still had two more left in the car, but my SO in his words " I did't feel like putting on pants to go get them" (That car is parked in our driveway!!!).

So now all that's on my mind is...you selfish son of a b*tch.

You we're to lazy to walk to the car to get another rubber so we could bone? Are you kidding dude, most dudes would jump at the chance.

<End Rant.

^ Good for you for holding your ground! Is he just so used to riding bare that the idea of a condom is a massive turnoff to him? If so, I'd recommend lambskin condoms (available at Walgreens / grocery stores / online).

That said, I really respect you for going off of HBC. I've been through that myself.

Wow, I'm gonna be like, a "normal" person tonight with a life.
Going to have a drink or two with my friend from work, then seeing Magic Mike.

Don't remember the last time I went to the movies...or went out with a friend! LOL, wow, that sounds lame.

I'm excited though. :D

If guys didn't want a stereotypical stripper look they probably would go to the bar and watch drunk girls in ugly shoes dance on counters, making out and flashing their boobies.

Eh, about teh condoms thing... I can't jump on the rip on your BF bandwagon. After a 4 year relationship with no condoms, I had a damn hard time keeping it up wearing one. MM is on-again-off-again with BC, so were' on-again-off-again (hahaha) with condoms - and I really struggle. You get spoiled. It's not like a guy doesn't WANT to have sex with one on, or even is unwilling - if the body ain't havin' it, there's not much we can do! :(

Because it's not "the body ain't havin' it," it's your mind that ain't.

So the part of you that wants to protect her from an unwanted pregnancy and totally blowing up your world into a massive shitstorm got shut off. It disappeared.

Look, I know the drill, but I would gently suggest that you perhaps get your heart into the mental game somewhere? It's obvious that you love this woman like the sun and the moon.

Please, no black blonde chicks. There was a girl one day, darker than I am, with a platinum blonde wig on. *face palm* It was tragic. @All Good Things - I hear ya'. And I understand where you're coming from and what you mean. And I know you're not attacking me. But I gotta ask - have you ever gone from 4-5 years of a very active sex life with no condoms, to wearing one again? Part of it's mental, yes. But believe me - there is a very big physical component there as well. Over time I've adjusted - especially with the open sexual aspect of our relationship! - and I'm fine wearing them again, but it took more than a few times to readjust!

I'll have to do a search on SW for experiences with these two options.

I love Kimono Thins, I can just never find them around here. Insertion isn't supposed to be that bad. There will always be exceptions to the rule and you'll find a handful of women screaming bloody murder over the insertion, but it seems that the general consensus is that it's like a pinching sensation and a few period like cramps. Cramps might be a little worse, bleeding may be a little heavier, and there could be spotting between your first couple periods; it's pretty common, but not all women go through it. Effective for 12 years, but it's maximum recommended use time is 10 years. However, it does increase your chance of infections so use condoms if there's any doubt about monogamy. Natural family planning is basically counting the days and not having sex the week you ovulate (4-5 days before to 1-2 days after)

On my mind- MORE BEAUTY STUFF!

Q: - What do you call people who use the rhythm form of birth control (family planning)?

A: - Parents!

Rhythm doesn't work; fertility awareness does (when used correctly). I didn't follow the rules, so I ended up aborting. But the science is there, and it's quite easy to use natural methods while avoiding pregnancy...as long as you don't compromise situationally.

I've never had children, and I got the copper IUD. They gave me a cervical relaxant beforehand, and I definitely still felt it go in, but the procedure was super quick.

The good:

No hormones, no maintenance. Cost $20 on my health insurance (including followup visit). Would have worked for up to 10 years with no need for maintenance.

The bad:

I went from having no cramps (I'm a genetic miracle - my mom and sisters all get extreme cramps, but I never got any prior to ParaGard) to having intense cramps. I went from being a naturally somewhat heavy bleeder to being an extremely heavy bleeder. I got my period with increasing frequency - near the end, I was getting a 10-day period every 2-3 weeks. I became essentially anemic - taking iron pills every single day to keep up, which depleted my zinc / copper levels. I also didn't like that I could feel my strings, even though they were cut quite short. And it freaked me out having a device inside of me. Despite the lack of hormones, it felt unnatural to me.

I took mine out by myself (rubber globes - pull on your string) and experienced zero pain doing so. I immediately began practicing Fertility Awareness Method (buy the book), which works perfectly when used correctly. Women are only fertile for 24-48 hours a month, so as long as you don't have unprotected sex 5-9 days before you ovulate, then the sperm won't survive long enough to impregnate you. I cheated with this method once and ended up having an abortion. But it's medically extremely sound - I sat down with the doctor before my abortion to talk her through my birth control method, and she agreed that it's scientifically sound. You just can't cheat the rules and you have to stay in touch with your body. I love taking my temperature every morning before I wake up!

I don't regret trying ParaGard - I liked it when I first got it, and it's really the only non-hormonal birth control method out there aside from FAM. I have no regrets taking it out (despite it leading to my abortion). I would never, ever get it again.

Mediocrity has had hers for years, and she loves it. It really does work for some women. But do your research - LOTS of women experience side effects. You just have to decide if it's worth it for you.

Yeah when I had dark hair I never had an issue. And when I got fat and was blonde it was harder for me to get dances. But on weekends, I literally don't have to ask people because all those young guys want a dances from the girl who looks like barbie the most, which happens to be me. Hot is hot, but if you have a "gimmick" (that can be a costume, a specific look, or whatever), then there's less scouting to do.

Also, standing out in the club matters...I'm sure if I went to LV I wouldn't be able to stand in a corner and have everyone come to me.

I learned the most important thing to making money dancing is knowing their niche and working it. I am a somewhat muscular brunette who didn't appeal to the men who loved blondes. However the older men LOVED me. I was also able to learn how to hustle and I learned how to get money from men who didn't buy dances. I was almost always one of the biggest money makers at practically every club I danced at.

Yup, nine years to be precise (got mine in 2003) and have never had a side effect. HOWEVER! I've never had cramps or heavy bleeding. I literally can only use lite tampons, anything else is too absorbent. I barely notice my period.

If you have cramps, heavy bleeding or otherwise difficult periods, I'd discuss it with your doctor.
