Kelly, maybe you should read this article.

Robin, age 41, seems to have a lot in common with you in terms of your dating expectations.
Basically, anything from Patti Stanger (the Millionaire Matchmaker). She's pretty blunt about "this is what you're doing WRONG" and is a great advocate of quit being impatient and picky so you can actually make a connection.

Thanks for posting that because it was informative. I found it interesting that Robin like me wants never married and childless and I hope she finds it because that to me is reasonable.
Ironically it seems I worried over this over nothing. He's just been busy with his store (he owns it)but we are getting together soon.

Friend introduced me to a new author and the book/series "Daemon" (author is Daniel Suarez). I have been non-existent in this world for 24 hours. Ate a cheese quesadilla yesterday and forgot to eat for the rest of the day. Stayed up 5 hours past my bedtime. Woke up, posted this, and I'm about to open the 2nd book again (I finished the first and 1/3 of the 2nd yesterday). MAN it's been awhile since I got this lost in a book! New name on my favorite authors list!

Did my best stage set ever last night. Was tipsy and feeling slutty so i sexed it up and did less tricks and got a small queue wanting dances (usually hard to get a reaction let alone make any money from stage here!). I think my recently improved gym body helped too :P

Finished book 2 of Daniel Suarez' "Daemon" last night. Everyone in the modern world should read these books, and I mean that. The fact that this work is reaching so narrow an audience while shit like "50 Shades" sells millions of copies a week makes me sad, angry, and frankly explains a lot about why the scenario in these books is so accurate and relevant. That's not a good thing.
Anyway - can't get them out of my head, so that's EXACTLY what's on my mind right now - and probably for days to come, lol!

Maybe I can get unbeleavable to weigh in on this question- is it okay to exercise EVERY day?
I was always taught growing up that exercising every single day was a symptom of an eating/body dysmorphic disorder. But what about when the person eats right and has a healthy view of their body? Common sense dictates to me that it would be just fine as long as you work up to that point over time (never actually over-exerting your body) and have a nutritionally dense caloric intake to burn off. I just can't find any information online that I think can accurately answer my question (too many posts from people who obviously over-exert/work out improperly to begin with).

There is nothing I hate more than accidentally clicking on someone's profile.
I fell in love with a man a year ago who had to leave the US shortly thereafter to go back home to Australia permanently. One of the reasons I started dancing again was because I knew I could quickly make money and get to him. In the few months that I was saving, I met current SO and told Mr. Australia about him. Australia told me it would be awhile before we see each other again, so go ahead and see other people. I assumed he was doing the same. A little while later, I fell in love with SO.
Well, here it is almost a year later, and I love SO but things are getting stale, as they often do in relationships. Mr. Australia showed up in my city two days ago. He told me he's still in love with me, and would marry me straight away and I could either move there, or he could move here. I still have strong feelings for him, but I also love SO. Australia cried when I told him. He said he should have gotten here sooner. That he spent the last year working hard to try and come back for me, and that he should have worked harder.
I feel heartbroken over this. I do love SO. But, I never stopped loving Mr. Australia. How's this my life right now? I don't want to hurt anyone.

How close are you with your family? Marrying someone from Australia is not the easy - I know I did it! If you were with him and moved here just be aware you might not see your family or friends for years at a time and when you got older and have kids the chances to go home will be even less because it costs so much and is so far. Even just talking to friends and family is hard. The time different btwn here and my home is 16 hours so there's very few free hours I can even talk to people on the phone. Also immigration isn't just handed to you if you marry. You must live together for 1 year before you can even apply for residence. So you need another visa during that 1 year. Residence costs ove $4k... Just some things to think about. Trust me I loved my husband so much but it still nearly took me to breaking point and now after living here 8 years I really don't belong in either place because my personality has been molded by both countries. It's a very strange lifestyle. The problem with staying there is he goes through all those things. I don't know if my husband would have been strong enough to handle it. Not meaning to discourage you but to look at this is a realistic light.

I should really quit sleeping in like this. I woke up at like 9am, then again at 10, and 11, but I just went back to sleep and didn't get up till 2:30 because I don't have anything to do today.
Time to wash muh face. My night cream does wonders for the look and feel of my skin, but I HAVE to scrub any residual off the next morning or I break out. Really ready to switch to a new regimen.

I'm probably about to get hella hate mail for this comment, but I honestly think that maybe the "1%" is being taxed too much. I don't know for sure, but I thought taxes were a percentage of your gross income. Why should some one have to pay more taxes simply because they have more money in their bank account. (To be clear, as an example, if taxes were a simple 5% across the board, some one grossing $100 a week would pay $5 in taxes and some one grossing $100k would pay $5k. From the reading I've been doing though, it seems like the $100 person is paying $5 while the $100k person is paying $15k)
sammii
09-25-2012, 10:46 PM
^ I agree with you. Everyone should pay the same percent in taxes.
I also don't think self-employment people should be required to pay an extra 15% in taxes. It's ridiculous. Why should there be a fee for being self-employed?
Djoser
09-25-2012, 10:57 PM
^^^Well it's to provide for Social Security. That's opening a whole new can of worms here lol. I'm not going to say anything about Social security either way, but it can be a pain in the ass when dealing with taxes. When I was having a hard time as a self-employed artist, before I was a DJ, it was a Royal Pain in the Ass.
Speaking of which, If I was worth a billion dollars, I don't think I'd mind paying more than 15% taxes. Of course if I was worth a billion dollars, I almost certainly wouldn't be posting here--I'd be in my custom built resort home in the Valley of the Kings, Egypt. Or maybe building a real live pyramid in Mexico. And of course, no one ever wants to pay more taxes than they have to, no matter how much they can thank the conditions in their home nation for being able to retain such vast wealth.

Let’s see if I can do this briefly and without going totally insane with numbers.
The federal tax system in the U.S. is relatively progressive on the shared belief that the poor or relatively poor have better uses for their money like feeding their families and keeping something resembling a roof over their heads.
The strongest objection to the taxes paid by the 1% is not the total amount – it’s actually enormous – but that it’s much closer to 15% (the cap gains rate) of the 1%’s income rather than the 30%+ average marginal tax rates (including FICA) on payroll income paid by people who work for a living.
So the rich pay much less as a percentage of their passive income compared to the percentage that middle-class people pay on their wages.
It’s at this point that all the fistfights break out.
The rich should pay more in taxes, of course, and give more to charity too, which is why rich people with some sense of perspective, honor and civic responsibility like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet have pledged to give away most of their billions during their lifetime.
Bill Gates has already saved more lives in the developing world – mostly the lives of infants and young children – than every international organization in the world except for the U.N.
The insufferable pricks who cling to every dollar are also the soulless douchebags who think that they all “earned it” and that it’s just their “hard work” that made them successful. Let’s see how well they’d do if they were born female and desperately poor in some Rajshahi shack in Bangladesh without a shred of hope of ever getting out of that situation.

Thank you for making that a little clearer, ATG! I haven't been able to find anything as cut and dry as your explanation. Now I maybe/sorta/kinda see the point of that whole 99% Movement/Occupy bull. Not entirely, but I'm starting to get a general idea. Just a little tidbit for anyone reading this post- the "1%" is made up of anyone who grosses a little over $340k a year, even if $200k+ after taxes gets eaten up by cost of living. So these people aren't all b/millionaires.
Glad that the extra 15% tax on ICs and other self-employed folk was clarified as going toward SS. I think about half/15% of a wage worker's taxes go to SS anyway?
Why not just give even taxes across the board? Wouldn't that simplify things and, in my mind at least, make everything fair?
Why not just give even taxes across the board? Wouldn't that simplify things and, in my mind at least, make everything fair?
Because paying say 15% when you make 30k would be completely financially crippling and paying 15% when you make 30 million would not affect you in the least.
