I'm counting down the days until my birthday. There's a website domain that I've wanted for YEARS, & the owner isn't using it & never responds to proposals to buy it. The site registration expires on my birthday though & I'm going to snag it.

BEST FRIGGIN Birthday present EVER! Ekkkk! :dork:

I think Tiffany's jewelry is ugly as hell, and looks like it costs them 5 cents to make.

This chick in class the other day was dying over how great this bracelet is:

I haven't had romantic feelings for my bf for months. I love him, but I think only as a friend. I'm dreading that "it's over" conversation, because I don't think he's ready for it. I just feel like we're just wasting time, and I am ready to be single.

Ugh... and what is up with this guy? He asks me so many questions about my bf (ones I feel awkward answering considering the situation I'm in), and today while talking to a male friend he immediately approaches me and asks, "is that your boyfriend?". Why is this guy so interested in my relationship? Or am I just extremely awkward about it and don't know what to do when someone asks questions?

I'm so fucking bored. i can't wait to get out of california on thursday and chill at my parents and not have to pay for groceries or anything for the rest of the month and get a break from having adult responsibilities. I don't have that many adult responsibilities besides bills and taking care of my dog but aghgh I'm sick of it!!! I'm so excited to just hang out with my mom and sister.

ugh and also I'm super pissed that I booked a plane ticket to colorado because I have some "Friends" I want to see after not seeing them in awhile and not one of them offered to let me stay with them except one but only for a couple days because she's already having people stay the first 4 days i'm there.... ugh.

I thought 2010 bit the big one--and it pretty much did. A big long clusterfuck.

Then I got to work and found out a friend of mine might have cancer. He's already had major trouble with his appendix and almost died from that (they couldn't take it out for some reason even though it was really bad).

So when you think your life is annoying; remember, it could be a lot worse. You could have no life--literally...

I don't have a close female friend right now... or any close friends, for that matter. Is that good/bad? So many people all seem like a waste of time, though...

I keep thinking my ex-best-friend (who is not my friend anymore for complicated reasons) will probably be my last "best friend" ever. Will we ever be friends again?
It's like... I either find other women/girls fascinating, or boring/annoying. How do women make new friends, anyway? Workplace? Um, I don't think so. Most of the time, when I want to hang out with other girls and I ask em for their phone number or when they have free time, etc, I secretly also just want them to sleep with me. Which never happens, anyway. Why not? Am I doing something wrong? Why doesn't this work out? Can they smell my ulterior motives? Or am I just not attractive to women? I guess I look pretty straight, but... the only way I could get any "dykier" would be to chop off all my hair... and I tried that before. Took me a long time to grow it out this long again.

I think its healthy/good to put things down into words, to sort feelings out. But wait, it's been about ten years of sexual frustration already... so am I gay or straight? OK, I must be bi, I think that's been established. OMG though, seriously... boys/men have been like, a continuous domino cascade of disappointments for the past... forever! Thinking about dicks hasnt been as interesting as it used to be...

Whatever, anyways, I should be moving on to writing this 5-page essay that is due tomorrow. Not psyched about it. And I need to finish making a website in 36 hours. That's crazy. I'm so sick of school.

I've never had a Chinese boyfriend. I'd like to date a small-sized one that has really beautiful black hair and a comforting attitude, but one who doesn't remind me of my father or brother in weird ways. Ok, I should probably stop fantasizing about dating, seriously.

I'm actually procrastinating writing my essay, I know.

Okay, one more paragraph. I wanna write about... Oh, I dunno... skateboarding. I mean, my friend Luke. DAMN I can't stop thinking about other people! What the fuck is up with that?

What do I have to say about my SELF?

I think... well, I LIKE myself! I dont wanna go overboard, but yeah, I think I'm pretty great- and I'm not afraid to get old and wrinkly because I know I've got more working for me on the inside than the outside. I sort of hope I'll do amazing things with my life, blazing trails and carving paths for other peoples, but I also think it ultimately doesn't matter that much... the most important thing is to have fun, and enjoy as many moments as possible.

My egg must have just dropped.

You know what's annoying about having to make this website that's due on Tuesday? I'm thinking so hard about how to show and share my work on this site, and what it'll read like, for people who will visit, but, fuck, seriously, I don't care in that way... I'd rather spend my time making more new work, than trying to figure out how to show people what I did before.

I need a secretary. Or an assistant. I want a personal slave who will also be my muse, duh. I wish I could meet Van Gogh, or Lucas Samaras... big-dick names like Jeff Koons or Damien Hirst or Kiki Smith... more women. I got to work with Pippi and that was good. I want to be like, a female Van Gogh or Picasso or um... Samaras, Da Vinci. Cindy Sherman or Bjork, the Knife, Fever Ray. OK, I'm jealous of Lady Gaga when it comes to lace and mirrors/ the hybrid of pretty and scary.

I want to successfully collaborate with my brother on a project, and be like, wonder twins or something. Like the Wrights, Disneys... the Van Goghs, again.

I want to set up a system that makes me money and allows me to maximize time spent doing only exactly what I want. So, where and what the fuck is it? You'd think I've read enough money-management books already, but damn... I guess things can't always be perfect all the time.

I think it is about the little blue box.

Send that to your Lover at work and she rakes in the cool points.

Seriously that is just a very simple Chain Mail link. Worth about $25 except it comes in the little blue box with a Luxe name.

The blue box is part of it, but probably only about 10-15%. That blue box has been branded though to represent something bigger... which was a great scheme by their marketing department! They began in 1837, which was before Cartier (jeweler to many royals) & Harry Winston, both of which have outstanding reputations as well as being mention in the famous song Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend. Why? Everyone knows that these stores stand for quality, & that people who purchase from them are not as concerned with price.

It's actually a very good design. Jewelry designs from a quality designer are not cheap, mostly because the molds take so long to make & require such detail, but the cost for a design does lessen per item produced & sold. Look at the website link a bit closer, there's a hyperlink on there that I think you missed. Along with the design being good, its a good quality of silver. Even a low to mid range charm bracelet of the same quality would run about $250 at a very low end store. If Wal-mart carried that same bracelet it would probably easily be $300 - $325 for example. It's sterling silver, not plated, which is much better quality & means it's worth more in most markets simply because of the going rate for scrap silver per ounce (http://silverprice.org/silver-price-per-ounce.html), not to mention the brand. Plus the sales experience at Tiffany's allows them to charge more, as does the fact that the items from the store usually become collectible, which increases their value to collectors as they reach antique status. Beyond that, this is a charm bracelet, which needs to be good quality because they become heirloom pieces typically worn by multiple generations. The more charms that are put onto the bracelet the more it goes up not only in sentimental value, but monetarily as well.

What people need to keep in mind though is what they really want. If you want to say that you have a piece from Tiffany's, then that is where you buy from. If you don't care about brand, but do care about quality, you search & buy for quality regardless of where it comes from... even if that's a student/new designer. I love things that are rare, so I tend to have things either custom designed or buy very old antique items. Could you have a replica of Tiffany's jewelry made to save money? Yes, but finding a designer capable of the same quality or better could prove difficult. Again, we all place certain values on different things.

Obviously, on a philosophical level, you're right. But come on...$500 for a chain-link bracelet? Really? Something tells me that anyone could come up with a better way to spend $500. Even Plato.

You could say the same thing about many other things. I'm just going to throw this out there since it is the holiday season... Christmas trees are a prime example. Think how much a tree is actually worth, particularly with ornaments averaging $5 each. They are a pretty big waste of money & the ornaments usually decrease in value. A lot of people probably have spent $300 - $500 on a Christmas tree with ornaments.

The same thing could be said about about many other things. A person from a nude society isn't very likely to hold much value in even a pair of jeans from American Eagle, nor a shirt from Versace. Nor would a person who is starving in a third world country care much about a piece of paper showing a college education, since without access to good jobs, clothing, clean water, etc it doesn't do them much good. Most straight women who are shy (or very calm) don't see the value in a $20 lapdance either, particularly if that could buy them something like a good meal with friends. By contrast, Paris Hilton probably wouldn't hold value in owning property in an area designated by the government to be "section 8", even if someone handed it to her free of charge. I think you get the picture. As for Plato, we all have times when we are ruled by our hearts/desires rather than reason, so I suspect he probably was the same way - even if it were not common for him.

I will tell you this, I own something very rare, the chance of a new one entering the world market each year is 1 in 60,000,000. There are currently only an estimated score (20) around the world. I'm sure there are more owned in the United States, but I only know of two, one at the Smithsonian museum & one at a museum in New York. A professional in the field of this item will probably never see this particular type of item in their ENTIRE career unless they go to one of the museums. This type of item has been owned by royalty in the past, & one was stolen by a very famous politician known the world over. With that said, in years that I've owned it only one time has anyone ever realized what it was... a Chinese woman in her 90s. Unless I put it up directly next to the items the other people THOUGHT it was, they'd never know the difference. While I have a number of very unique items I'd be willing to let go if I were in need of money, this one item I wouldn't. I probably will never sell it (mostly because of its sentimental value to me) but considering that I don't exactly have any children or close family, I will probably donate it upon death (or close to) for it to be auctioned off. I'm just not really sure which non-profit yet. These items sell for prices in the hundred thousands to millions, yet most people would never guess or give it a second glance.

If this bracelet makes the girl in your class happy, I would hope that you would be happy for her, & maybe even share in her excitement.

Yes, but finding a designer capable of the same quality or better could prove difficult. Again, we all place certain values on different things. I am hardly the sentimental type. My feelings for jewelry changed when I jumped off a truck and my ring hung up on the rail. Hanging by your ring finger sucks to say the least. I am not given to ostentatious displays either. If I was to dress in that manner it would be the quality of the materials themselves that would speak. London high street, Rolex submariner, real cordovans.

It is a simple link. As a Charm bracelet that now makes sense. The charms are the display, the bracelet is the vehicle for that. I recognize the diagonal cut for the link, this adds surface area and makes the join stronger. I can’t tell if the links are drilled and pinned, but I doubt it. Even as pure 99.9 sterling I still feel it is a little much at $500.00. If it brings joy to the person that receives it and they value it as much; not a cent wasted then. I have come to view jewelry in the way other cultures do. Portable wealth. You can leave home in a flash and not leave destitute. I don’t think it is valueless, but I don’t value it as much. The only value I would have in it for myself is the security it would bring as a precious metal in an unstable economy.

Yes, it is portable wealth, like the gold rings, and chains that adorn middle eastern or hindu women. The security that brings is worth a good nights sleep.

You know what's sad? That most of the guys on this forum are probably better than 99% of the guys in real life and certainly better than most of the guys at the clubs. I actually think I'd date most of the guys here because they seem far superior to most.

Chat still works, though I haven't installed IRC on this beast.

This Chicago Techno station is all over it........

^^^ I'm curious too. I know a few others who have over the member accusation issue.

Life vs objects, yes, most of us would take life.

In regard to being ostentatious, I think we are all a bit that way, although it's probably more common in women than men. Its funny that you mention quality of materials... I shop by touch rather than visually most of the time. Literally I'll put both of my hands out to the side & walk around feeling the fabrics of clothes until I touch something that catches my interest.

It is a simple link. As a Charm bracelet that now makes sense. The charms are the display, the bracelet is the vehicle for that. I recognize the diagonal cut for the link, this adds surface area and makes the join stronger. I can’t tell if the links are drilled and pinned, but I doubt it.

The links open in a way that allows fussy owners to easily put the charms on without tearing up their nails, unlike traditional charm bracelets. The fact that they open also means the small hooks on traditional charms can be taken off & allow the charms to link to the bigger loop, which makes them sturdier.

"I feel", & "The only value in it for myself is the security it would bring as a precious metal in an unstable economy"...

By golly George, I think he's got it!

If it is a (DELETED), I just want to see how it was made, that is what fascinates me.

Was it the same thing you text messaged me asking if it was? If so, no, it's not that. There are more of those than the item I own. Although, if I ever happen upon one of those similar to the Equestrian or Standard Yaht - I would probably buy it. I've been wanting a really special place to keep my first kitty's ashes & I've been on the look-out for one similar to those for years! She used to love sitting in the window & it seems fitting that her resting place would be someplace like a window that I could put in the sun.

Will it be better if I go see the new Harry Potter later in the month?

I don't want to be the only single guy there.

I don't plan on masturbating but, Ms. Watson is legal everywhere now.

Btw my comments were meant as compliments, not insults. There are several men here I spoken to in pm's and they seem really cool.

I now have a stomach ache. I hate not feeling wel.

Can you really say "never"?... circumstances change. I don't know why I even care because I didnt think it was something Id want anyway. So why is the word never bothering me then?
