SOOO what is the pill form technically called??? Recommendations please, Id love to try the pills before I try jab-a-tan. I know JD said the results were not as drastic but I have been seeking a tanning alternative for some time now, as of now I refuse to tan and I am pale as all hell but I love the look of a tan!

Question:

Any idea how effective this is at keeping skin color EVEN...
I live in the desert and get really dark really fast in natural sunlight (even with sunblock)... I'm semi worried about getting as dark as I want with this... and then still having the awful tan lines I have now... -_-

Yes! It's very even! You will have absolutely no tan lines!

j.d.....I actually just received this in the mail yesterday. I've researched it alot about dosages and such. Do you follow the recomended amount? I've read tons of different stories about how much to take. Also, when do you take it? Yesterday it made me tired but today I seem fine.

My package came with a dosage chart, so I followed that, but I immediately went up to 10 units after the first day.

i'm gonna embrace my paleness and go with that old saying "if it's too good to be true".. sorry, sounds scary to me.. you are *self injecting* crap for the sole purpose of making yourself *tan*.. again sorry, but this sounds sooo superficial to me more than any other body modification (plastic surgery, fake nails/teeth/hair, ect) and at the same time utterly ridiculous.. but to each their own i suppose..

I think it was the 'sooo superficial' and the 'ridiculous' part of your comment that garnered the response it did, rather than the 'scary' part. Hard to be judgmental without being judged oneself.

back to the subject: how exactly do you inject? Like a thrombosis injection where you pinch a part of your belly, thighs or whatever and then just put the needle in? I'd be scared to do it the wrong way...

Sounds cool. I get tired as fuck jumping into a tanning booth & slapping on sunlabs just to get a tan for almost two weeks.

This thing sounds tempting, but idk about the dark labia thing. Maybe it can be bleached?

Shit, I can finally look like a typical Puerto Rican. lol.

I also wonder how long this thing has been out.

J.D.
09-12-2010, 06:04 PM
It's a subcutaneous injection, so you just pinch your fat on your stomach, and inject there. It's been out for some years now, but just recently became popular, mostly with bodybuilders. I don't mind the dark labia thing at all but that's just me.....

So is this something that only darkens your skin if you sit under a tanning bulb? Or does it automatically darken you without hitting the tanning beds?

That sounds awesome! I haven't tanned (except at the pool) since May-ish .. I decided when my tanning bed membership expired I wouldn't renew it for health reasons. But I do not like spray tans at all! I will be looking into this for sure!

It darkens you without hitting the tanning beds, but if you do it just intensifies it.

You can bleach your asshole and nipples, it stands to reason you can bleach your labia. Sounds like a lot of work just to have different coloured pussy lips, but then again injecting yourself sounds like a lot of work to have different coloured skin and I'm totally going to try it. If you do, use an anal bleaching kit (http://www.shopinprivate.com/anbleaccream.html)and be very careful about getting any on your delicate inner region (plug it with cotton? TMI but just a thought).

BTW, J.D., thank you! I'm a redhead who can tan, but barely and it takes forever. I've ordered a kit online, I'll update you ladies as I go. A lot of the cautions say that redheads can't get as dark, but I'm a really dark red (almost brown-y), can tan but hate sun damage. Excited!

I started Melanotan 2 a couple weeks ago, and I am BLACK!!!!! I have never in my life been this dark! Not only that, but my sex drive has significantly increased as well as the intensity of orgasms, AND I am never hungry, I have to force myself to eat because the Melanotan 2 cuts your appetite so much! That's me a few days ago.... I am darker now!

Ok, so here's some I JUST took, and one from a few weeks ago, I was still a little tan there, but for the most part that is my natural skin color, a light olive ish tone.

Hey JD, I missed the pics...can you post a before and after set here? I'm really curious about how this looks...thanks.

You start with one injection a day right? So 10 needles is 10 days and once you get your desired color it's once a week? If I got that correct this isn't a bad deal!

J.D.

I wear MAC NW25, or Revlon Colorstay in Rich Tan, naturally, but now I had to switch to much darker foundation, so now I wear either NARS Sheer Glow matte in Syracuse or Smashbox Hi Def foundation in M3, if that can give you an idea of how dark I became!

So far I like it. I do like taking it during the day because it supresses my appetite very well, but it also makes me a bit tired. I've only been on it for 7 days but I'm about as dark as if I's been on vacation all week ...my face doesnt normally tan that well but with this it's as dark as the rest of my body!

OOo I want to try this! I am pale but I CAN tan..just takes awhile. I was nicely brown when I went to tanning beds regularly, but I started seeing lines on my face and chest and had to stop. Self tanner and spray tans make me sick to my stomach..guess I am allergic to them. I deal with the nausea when I want color, but it sucks.

Any side effects that you have noticed? Is there any kind of guarantee or warranty if it doesnt work or makes me sick?

I work in a vet hospital so I can get needles and dispose of them if need be. I'm not afraid of needles and have plenty of experience with them. Not injecting MYSELF, but shouldnt be hard. If it is, one of my co-workers will be happy to do it for me. So this will be easy for me.

This is 100% legal here right? (I think I saw you mention that it isnt FDA approved yet)

Has anybody taken it, and then gone off of it completely to see how the tan fades? I've been interested in ordering this.but researching as much as possible first jic. One site had a couple girls leave reviews which said their tan faded and left white splotches which did not go away, and the spots did not respond to tanning later.

See, I am kind of like you in the sense that first of all, I look terrible pale, because I have yellowish olive skin, so its NOT a nice shade like a milky white, especially since my hair is so dark. I have always had to tan in tanning beds, but I was also beginning to see lines on my face and chest, and it freaked me out! Not only that, but it never looks completely natural, especially on your face, because you get more rosy on your cheeks, sometimes I got uneven pigmentation on my face, my armpits were always white, etc. This is perfect for me because it gets me BROWN without any dehydration or lines whatsoever, and the color is soooo ridiculously even, people truly think it's my natural color. My eyelids, lips, underside of my forearms, labia, everything got darker, so it's soooo much more natural!

Yes, it is 100% legal, it's equivalent to taking a vitamin or supplement, most of the time those are not FDA approved, yet we still pop them. There have been no reported negative effects, besides nausea and fatigue, which some people attribute to mannitol, which is a chemical that it is sometimes cut with, however my source is very pure so I don't have to worry about this. It was developed at the University of Arizona by doctors, not in a back alley somewhere, and is undergoing FDA trials now. There are no reported deaths or major illnesses as of yet.

The only issues I have found with it is that some people argue that if you already have a pre cancerous lesion, some people theorize that it could cause it to grow and grow, into a melanoma. So, if you want to be extra safe, go to a dermatologist and have him or her check out your body for anything suspicious, if nothing else, you will find something that needs to be removed ASAP that you would have otherwise not found. Not only that, but you will no longer need to go in the tanning bed while taking this, so when you weigh out all these factors, I think it's safer to go with the Jab-A-Tan. We don't know the long term affects of it, but think about all the other crap that we ingest and consume on a daily basis and how it affects our health.

It cracks me up when people try to lecture about how I am going to die early because I'm injecting a mystery substance into my body as they light up a cigarette or shove their faces with fast food, sodas, aspartame, acesulfame K, refined sugar, chlorinated tap water, sucralose, high fructose corn syrup, illegal drugs, etc. etc...... None of which ever enter my body!

J.D. and snowbrdrbabe, is there a reason why you chose Melanotan II over Melanotan I? I ask because I was about to buy Melanotan II when I discovered a couple things during my research:

- Melanotan II crosses the blood-brain barrier, while Melanotan I does not. It worries me that this could float around my brain when the long-term effects are unknown. (This is also why I don't consume the shit listed above!)

- Melanotan I has been studied more than Melanotan II. According to what I found, the Italian Medicines Agency has already approved the use of Melanotan I for an obscure skin condition. This is DEFINITELY a vote of confidence for the drug. Melanotan I has also been found to actually reduce the risk of skin cancer and UV damage. Apparently, the increased melanin in the skin creates a better 'shield' against UV rays. Of course, Melanotan II seems to do the same thing. It just doesn't appear to have been studied as extensively.

- Melanotan I isn't as potent as Melanotan II, so it takes more to achieve the same result. Is this one of the reasons you choose it?

Honestly, I think there are worse things to put in one's body. And considering that a-MSH has been synthesized, studied, and now approved by a governmental body, it doesn't seem too extreme. The info about Melanotan II just scared me a bit.

This stuff probably won't be approved by the FDA for cosmetic uses for a LOOONG time. For some reason, the FDA has a bug up its ass about approving cosmetic pharmaceuticals.

Anyway, I read an article that included an interview with one of the scientists who invented Melanotan I. He said he was shocked that this stuff hadn't yet been approved for human trials by the FDA, because it has such a strong potential for preventing skin cancer. Until the FDA wakes up and realizes that cosmetic use is a legitimate purpose for a drug, this will probably remain in the underground economy.

Yea... it seems like it's easier to get pure Melanotan II.

How do you make sure that you're buying pure powder? I found a company online that provides independent testing of these products. Do you get outside testing?

NikkaR

Exactly. The FDA is jacked. Just like when they banned 5-htp many moons ago. Cancer is a big-buck business for the medical field. All those hospital bills and prescription medications for post care?... they don't want to lose that.

I wasn't aware of 5-htp. Was this once an approved pharmaceutical?

I was thinking more of the huge controversy surrounding silicone breast implants. They approve all sorts of dangerous drugs, many of which are subsequently removed from the market, but continually regard cosmetic products with immense distrust.

It is so wierd to see this here. A guy at work who is really into fitness began using this stuff. He is a white guy with greek heritage and he has become as dark as one of the hispanics that works there.

I was considering it with winter coming on. Starting the regimen in October.

so is injecting it better for your liver than the pill because it goes straight into the bloodstream?

also, since it raised melanin, does it help protect you from the sun?

the only reason i hit the tanning bed once a week in the summer is to keep a base tan. i don't do it to look tan, i do it because i am so pale and naturally blonde and i just burn at pool parties and boat parties. i try to keep a little base tan to stop from burning.

i would do melanotan if it helps with that. i don't like burning or tanning and my dad already had skin cancer. i don't want it.

About how many shades darker would you say you got?
I'm also already naturally tanned but I tan because my skin is like splotchy so I like to be 2-3 shades darker than what I am.

I have been using jabatan for about 5 months, my first round made me tan and i didnt need to fake tan for weeks ( i was previously fake tanning 3-4 times a week) Im on my 2nd bottle now, having faded to more or less pale (i do not tan at all naturally, this had given me a natural looking tan!) It can be slightly stingy when going in depending on the consistency of sterile water to tan-powder, we have a sharpie bin to dispose of needles safely.

My boyfriend has been using jabatan for over 18 months, after his initial round he does one bottle every few months and has a dark, natural looking all over tan, he sunbeds a couple of times a week. Ive got another few days of injections left and then sunbedding next week, i cant wait to have a nice tan again :) His skin is fine, like moles etc havent darkened, my only bugbear was my freckles darkened up really quickly and then it took a few days for the rest of the tan to develop on the sunbeds, i was a freckle-puss for a while! I put suncream on my face, nips and twinkle when i sunbed to stop them going dark-dark.

Just injected, ouchy lol, altho at least this stuff doesnt make me feel sick, my bf had a cheap batch a few months ago and honestly, i was sooo sick it was gross! I refused any more of that stuff and plump for the more expensive one myself!

Started my Melanotan yesterday, bought from the same site J.D got hers from:

www.newagetan.com (http://www.newagetan.com/)

I started with 5mg instead of 2 and had immediate flushing for about and hour and a half. My face was tomato red! The appetite suppressant part is a nice side effect. Today took 5 mg also but did not have any flushing.

I will update when I start to notice any changes. Attached is a pic where you can see I'm very fair. I don't want to be super dark but definately would like more color. My chest is also covered with freckles and JD said it would darken them, but hopefully once I start getting some color they will blend with my tan.
