I've lived in Guam on and off for 10 years, dancers disappearing from guam could easily be the biggest lie on this forum.

Be careful before you go there. I've heard horror stories from veteran strippers. And I'm friends with a dancer whose friend went to dance there and disappeared. I don't believe that she is the only one to disappear there. And the state dept won't help her family look for her because she was a dancer. I believe she disappeared maybe five years ago and she never turned up.
I feel obligated to mention this- my neighbor in Maite discovered a woman's body in a canal on Guam- she was a junkie who had been turning tricks & I'm not sure she had ever stripped. BUT yes there is the potential for trouble on Guam. The south of the island is where a lot of the drug dealers on Guam hang out. In my mind the easiest path to peril is becoming a hardcore drug addict on that island.
I personally was warned not to run around with some of the Eastern European guys who were in the region- b/c human trafficking. I knew less about that world than I do now so I didn't realize what they were warning me about lol.
Your proximity to Asia is what the problem is, and that's why people warn you. They're not being unrealistic.

I've inspected the thread and find no evidence of baiting / drama. Let's keep going with Guam-related advice and ignore the personal stuff.
Remember, we have all had different experiences in our lives, and our advice is based on those personal experiences. So read each piece of advice on SW with a grain of salt, recognizing that your experiences may have been and may in the future be different from others' experiences. Use the advice on SW as a starting point for your own research.

I'm currently in Guam right now. The business is super slow in these past two months. I'm at club voluptas, right below club gspot. As far as the club goes, it is by far the most modern interior wise. It's a beautiful club, also the best housing as well. If there is anything in particular you'd like to know, I'm here to answer any questions!

Yeah, but different areas work differently for different people. It's hard to say who will have success at any given club. :)

I'm curious about the current economic climate in Guam. I read the entire thread - it sounds like somewhere around 2013 (ish) the strip clubs became 21+ and the volume of men decreased? Is the navy still using this as a hub? What the heck is going on with the military these days, anyway... is there a reason to believe the US forces will continue to stop through Guam regularly?
What is the cost of living like? For reference, whats a gallon of milk cost? A gallon of gas? A cheeseburger?
Are the clubs gowns or bikini?
Sorry for all the questions, thank you!

Any more updated info on these Guam clubs? No one has really put in any new data for about a year. Just wondering if much could change in that amount of time. In my personal life it does :P

Ive been in Guam for the past 7 months, business is up and down, more so down, definitely not a place to make big bucks but once in a blue moon. The paycheck makes up for it some. But all in all, Guam is a good place to exacpe and make some money in the process.

Actually it wasn't to be a catty b* if that's how that came across, i apologize. I lived in LA and struggled quite a bit and I'm sad to hear beautiful women are struggling even more these days than I did 3 years ago. The cost of living and the strip club conditions and fees make it all worse.

A lot of great info in here already. I only have experience with one club, so I can't speak for the others, which of course, everyone has an opinion about other clubs, just the same as the mainland. I think if you stick with the clubs recommended here, you should be fine.
If dancers are going to Guam and not returning, it's because they've met boyfriends or husbands on the island or simply love it so much out there that they stay out there, or possibly continue traveling. I have only heard about a few Eastern European or Australian hostesses from a hostess club in China or Japan who left the club on a date with a customer and was killed. It's probably as rare as strippers who end up killing people. While it happens, I don't think it's something you should put too much thought into when deciding on a business trip.
When I was there, my hustle game wasn't very strong and I wasn't used to selling drinks, so my money really just came from stages, the few times I went to the champagne room, and chatting with the older military men sitting at the bar who would buy Jarger bombs (you get $25 of that $50 shot.) The paycheck was nice because even though it wasn't something to necessarily rely on, if I was having too bad of anxiety or cramps on any shift I was scheduled to work out of the 6 days you're contracted to work, I could just sit on the couches all night and only talk to the people who would approach me. I was informed they weren't accepting dancers who require medication, and at the time, I wasn't seeing a doctor for a lifelong dx I struggle with, so I was able to go out there. I stocked up and brought meds with me anyway, just because I don't drink alcohol. If there are clubs who will contract dancers requiring medication, that's awesome.
The internet completely sucks out there. It's incredibly slow, but there are places you can go and use their wifi and internet cafes and stuff. I was wanting to cam out there while dancing, and it just wasn't possible.
You need to get a new cell phone while you're there, and you need to open a bank account with the Bank of Hawaii. I haven't seen that mentioned here, yet, I don't think. I held my money in my purse for a week because I hadn't been to the store to open an account, but it was very easy to do. The only thing that sucks is I tried keeping that account open after I returned to the mainland, and because it was inactive for a little bit, they closed my account, lol. Also, you need to bring your own bedsheets and pillows and pillow cases... I brought my own towels, as well.
The champagne rooms are where the dances are, and for an upcharge, the door to the room can be closed. I was warned ahead of time some girls have left crying because they didn't know how to handle a customer taking his dick out. When I was in guam, by that time in my dancing career, I'd only had maybe 3 guys ever actually pull it out during a dance or private room, so when this did happen to me in guam, just once, I didn't know what to do. This is where you as a dancer need to define your boundaries, just as you would any other club where there aren't cameras in the private rooms. If you're OK with anything more than dancing, that's your business. For me, I was already dealing with anxiety issues as it was, and was trying to go along with the guy doing his thing while I air danced, but once he wanted to touch me, I did end the dance and end up crying in the dressing room, mostly because, as the Stripper Gods would have it, it was a night I was already having personal problems and wasn't making money that week, etc. Now that I'm in my 30s, I'd be more equipped to handle this scenario, as well as sell drinks. It all depends on your experience as a dancer and I don't just mean years of being a dancer, but how many different types of clubs you have worked at throughout your career. Another champagne room was one where I was a bit on the too drunk side (like I said, I'm not a drinker) and things went a bit too far and I wasn't saying no because I was frozen. Customers will be customers anywhere in the world you go, and if you are someone like me who always relied on doormen to stop men from touching you because you weren't allowed to fight back per club rules, you might need to be aware of this. Those are my only two negative experiences at the club, but could have, and also have, happened while dancing in the mainland. It only feels scarier because you're 17 hours away from home. Most of the dances I did, nobody even touched me, though they might make a joke about it being futons and a kleenex box on the table.
If you are on a strict diet, food prices at the grocery store are kind of pricey for produce and such, and it is kind of a pain in the ass to go to the store (you only want to use Korean cab drivers there, per club managers recommendation. They give you reliable drivers' numbers, and they were kind and I never had a problem.) You can go shopping at the mall which is like a 10-15 minute cab ride from the housing, but it's pretty limited on stores, so if you're super picky, YMMV.
My lowest earnings were about $140-160 (I don't think I took into account the paycheck in these figures) and those were mostly on shifts where I literally napped on the couches until customers came in and I only engaged with customers who approached me or offered me drinks. I am white, 36-27-36 or so, with large implants and am pretty covered in my costumes, so I'm not walking around in bikinis or bras and panty sets, so I'm not one to really rely on my body or anything. I have a few tattoos, but I did have a friend get turned away when we applied because she had tattoos and they said they were trying not to have so many tattooed dancers (the dancers from Portland and Seattle were probably the only dancers I'd seen who had many tattoos) I'm not sure if the tattoo hiring policy was accurate or if it was an excuse not to hire her for any other reason, though. There are some very curvy dancers who wear corsets and that type of thing, to accentuate curves like pin-ups, but I think they'd worked there previously, and also came on their own dime. If you come on your own dime, it's way more relaxed, though I cannot say for certain specifically how relaxed on schedule they get (like if you can work any number of days, or still need 4-5 on schedule.)
There are the options of leaving the club, within a reasonable distance, with a customer if they "buy you out" but I never sold this and, like I said, wasn't used to selling blocks of time. I can't say too much else about the specifics, only because I haven't sold one, but I don't think there is a chaperone or anything, you just get in a LOT of fucking shit if you are late returning from leaving the club. If this is no longer a thing, someone else can correct me on that. This is also something in hostess club culture, so while people from the outside might think it's prostitution, I don't think that's necessarily the case. It's just another selling point to sell a block of time.
There's a lot to do in your downtime while you're there, and you have a guaranteed ride to and from the club every night you work. Personally, I have a thing where I can't do anything on days I work because I only have so many social interactions I can handle and need to reserve them all for the club, so my trip was pretty much just resting during my downtime and getting ready to work. I was probably the only one who was this extreme lol... it's a wonderful place, and I met so many truly great people there from all over the world and learned a lot that only helped my hustling and conversational skills as I continue to age in my career.
I wouldn't put too much thought into the worries of people who talk about sex-trafficking, because if you have any experience as a dancer, you already have heard people say this about every club, in every city, and even met pimps trying to recruit you.

Hello
I flew to Guam last week June 14 and the club I am working at is supposedly one of the best to work at right now.
I left an hour early tonight before close because I knew i wouldn’t be able to make it for my final stage set of the night. I was almost in tears. It’s only been my 6th night and the start of the my second week working and I have only had two decent nights where I have made about 400 bucks.
My 3rd night I only sold one drink which went to the house;fourth night was two drinks of course i only got 10 dollars out of that.
Basically you tip out 50% of your chips/drinks sold plus an extra 10% to the house for (staff I think).
So basically the house makes 60% off you every day. You only get to keep your stage money.
Pleas let’s not get into how much these Japanese tourists are willing to tip out because it’s nothing to commend. My decent nights were by young American military guys.
I am so upset getting on stage for 30/40 bucks on stage and stripping naked for that piece of change.
Hair done, nails done, spent so much to make sure I look on point. Perky boobs/butt, flat stomach and in the best shape of my life compared to some of the other ladies.
Bought $120 plus shoes and $250 plus on hair extensions that is yet to be recovered.
I know it’s only been 6 days of work but I am feeling discouraged as heck. I have been contemplating leaving tomorrow but then I don’t want to disappoint the manager who’s been super cool and wanted to at least earn enough to have paid off the flight ticket.
I seriously don’t know......

Not sure how long you’ve been dancing for, but you can’t expect every night to be a money maker night. I’ve been told to follow the seasons so I’m waiting a bit to try Guam. I’ve seen a lot of people comment that it’s more “vacation” than “money making”, but I’ve also seen that Summer is not seasonal for Guam..
Best of luck to you though!

When you say “summer is not seasonal” in Guam I assume you mean it’s not the best time to come work?
Anyway I was just jotting my experience so far and it’s definitely more for vacation than money which kinda sucks. I can see that the big money days here kind of are over.

FWIW I was there for Fall/Winter & I didn't make the money I expected to. My look was all wrong BTW (white girls do the best on Guam as they are the "desired" look for Japanese tourists.)
I just hated it so much but my experience was unique in so many ways...

So the first two weeks I had 4 ok money days. I was jet lagged and coughing from the cold inside the club.
Still coughing but not as bad.
Last week was good because I know who to approach and what works for me. However this week was super slow from Monday. I had a decent Thursday.
However I only sold one drink the whole night tonight Friday.ONE! I approached even the Korean/Japanese tourists and I avoid them usually like the plague.
Meanwhile the mamasans seem to only hustle for the white girls which is understandable since they do well with everyone including the tourists. I stopped tipping the mamas when I noticed they weren’t going all out for me like they were the other girls and still expecting me to tip out of the little I was/am getting.
I asked the manager if I could work 6 days a week starting next week since I have been here 4 weeks. He gave me some drivel about not meeting quota like (that’s my fault) it’s been quite slow and I hustle for every drink the customers buy me including my private lap dances as the mamasans don’t seem to go all out for the brown girls.
So technically he is saying I can’t work any faster to leave and I must have two days off a week mandatory unless we meet quota a week. Makes no frigging sense to me.

I've never been, I have a handful of friends who have gone to guam a few times and I think they honestly just go to get to stay by the beach lol. It doesn't seem like the money is very good. Like after all is said and done they just end up profiting as much as they would at their regular clubs here.

Some girls want a "paid vacation" on the beach. & If you love fucking douchebros and partying like an animal, Guam is for you.
Back in the 1980s stripping on Hawaii & Guam was like a secret sorority for a handful of mainland dancers. Now the business is different. Brittney and her cousin can go but it's a fraction of the profit and much harder work than in the Glory Days.

I didn't mean to sound judgemental. I will be more specific-
Guam is a unique place & it inspires love/hate reactions from most people.
For an exotic dancers the pitfalls there are many (clubs with sketchy management, abundant meth/"ice", dumb jock enlisted American guys who might try to wife you up and end your $$$$$ glory days as a stripper.) Certain groups of girls like Guam because it's easy for them to go there (Seattle strippers, wives of enlisted men, girls running from warrants on the Mainland.)
TBH the way the clubs work is grueling. You have to drink your face off to make drink commission money, customers are handsy, and the hours are long. THAT is not for everyone.
& To be brutally honest doing "extras" there isn't profitable. Guys there brag about how they take commuter flights to the Phillipines to have sex with teen hookers for $25 USD a pop. It's cheaper to get FS in Asia as well. Trust me, just dancing there is enough.

Who said anything about doing extras???? That wasn’t part of this conversation at all.
Anyways, I know you and I have talked about this before and your experience here was over a decade ago. I’m on the island *right now* and even though the money isn’t rolling in 1000s on stage every night— what some girls come here expecting it— the money is definitely good, and it’s the rainy season and the ships aren’t even in yet! It’s also incredibly easy to save money while you’re here and we get paychecks + bonuses depending on our drink commissions. The hours aren’t especially long and while drinks are a huge part of my income (my income here is mainly from stage followed by drinks), the staff at my particular club is really mindful about making sure the drinks are weak or you’re taking water shots if it’s been a busy night. You’re never ever forced to drink. The hours are less than 7 hours a night, including dressing and getting ready— active working time is closer to 6 hours a night. Again, things have probably changed a lot since you were last here.
The customers definitely are handsy, but that is relative to what you’re used to where you’re from. Boob grabbing from the tip rail is a big thing here. If you aren’t comfortable with that, Guam is 1000% not for you.
Guam, at least from what I’ve experienced so far, is completely what YOU make of it. This island is full of opportunity and cool things, but there is the tough shit and it’s up to you to decide what choices you make while you’re here and what attitude you’re going to have. That completely shapes your experience. Guam is nothing like the mainland and I think that culture shock can throw people off balance when they first get here, but being here can be a gigantic privilege if you’re responsible and keep a level head. It’s definitely not for everyone, but broad statements like “it’s a waste of time” just aren’t accurate.

Im currently considering it, but more for personal reasons than for the money. Im actually trying to save up some money first (i need to move and initiate a break up first) and but bc im planning to make such drastic life choices first and use Guam as my way to focus my energy on moving forward and not on the shitty drama situation ive been stuck in, I want to get finances in order so that im good and dont end up screwing myself over and having nothing to go back to or be worried about that the whole time. I have been considering this and have thought to just go but reading this sort of confirms to me that the people who feel positively about their trips are ones who werent counting on going to run away from theor problems and make emough money that they can buy all new everything when they get back.
(Not saying people did when i decided a year ago i wanted to do it that was my first plan , but thank god i decided i wanted to save first)
Sorry for the irrelevant introduction, venting bc its a secret im excited about so had to over share.
But i do have a question, are tattoos acceptable?
I guess i have a lot but dont have an alternative look
I was wondering though if girls who went there had any

Oh I totally believe that some girls love it. Several of my friends have booked there and enjoyed it.
I probably shouldn't post this on here but club owner Pat didn't have a bad rep when I knew of him. It is too bad that changed.
I personally have made better money in big cities or in "road bars" where you stay for only 1-2 weeks. Guam (to me) was a lot of culture shock and irritation with the immaturity of many of my co-workers there (including some Mama Sans lol...)

Yeah, I’m working at a different club than you did. That will definitely affect experiences.
I’m sorry Guam was such a bad experience for you, but I’m glad you found a good traveling system!

But i do have a question, are tattoos acceptable?
I guess i have a lot but dont have an alternative look
I was wondering though if girls who went there had any
Yeah, tattoos/alt looks are totally fine (depending on the club, as with everywhere, but it’s nbd). The only issue you might run into is some of the tourists (particularly Korean and Japanese tourists) might not be interested in you and they make up a significant client base. Tattoos are less culturally acceptable in mainstream Japanese and Korean culture, so they might need some time to warm up to you. It is IMMENSELY helpful to speak a little Japanese or Korean here, so if you have the time, learning basic phrases will go a long way.

I used to do nails in an asian salon so i have some good phrases down and am a little bit aware of the cultural differences and I actually work in a hostess club right now and do pretty well with the asian customers but im also in la wand even the tourists who end up at the club i work at usually spend enough time in los angeles to be more used to it i assume. They tend to like me because im pretty thin.
But exactly what you said was my exact concern . I dont have an alternative look at all and even having twenty tattoos ive been hired at plces that are pretty uptight about tattoos, but i always am worried about them getting in the way and i feel like although its overlooked here , i dont know anything about how it would go over over there. I was told by a customer who goes to gaum i might have more luck if i try to give myself a very rock look and be like a novelty there , but customers can be crazy and he definitely isnt someone i would seek wardrobe advice from .
Anyways thanks for the response and the insight.
Enlisted American guys like "rock chick strippers." Japanese tourists expect American strippers to look like "kawaii f*ckdolls"

What is good money though?
If im flying all the way to Guam, Alaska etc. I need to be banking. It's not a vacation if your WORKING 5-6 days a week and long hours. Someone said Guam was 8-10gs a month that is not even good. Thats 2000-2500 a week. You can make that anywhere. You can make those type of numbers in Arizona or Florida (during season) for your paid vacay and not go half way around the world and also be able to leave when you feel like it. I'm a hustler though. Good money should be 4-5gs a week.

Okay then don’t come here. I don’t understand the issue.
The best money comes when the ships are in AND the guys get to go on liberty, but the movement of the ships is classified intel so no one really knows when they’re coming, plus there’s no gaurantee that the sailors will get to go on shore leave. Ships will dock sometimes but liberty won’t be granted.
I hate the the concept of selling Guam as a “working vacation”. It’s work. You’re here to work. Granted, you’re working in a mix between a Japan/Korea mini-city hybrid and a Wild West-style tropical paradise with really rad people from all over the world, which is cool enough just to say that you had the experience, but it’s still a job. The thing with Guam is that an average night here is like an average night in most US cities, but it’s way easier to save your money here. Most clubs also give you pay checks on top of your commissions, with the amount varying depending on what club you’re with. (Also, most clubs don’t make you pay for your flights with your contracts.)

Nice thread! I don’t have much to add, because I’m in no position to travel right now, but I see this Dutch chick on Instagram hyping up Guam and trying to get dancers to come through there. Her Instagram username is @thestripteaseagency

Hey, would anyone be interested if I compiled a list of Japanese and Korean phrases that I found useful while working in Guam? Like a mini phrase guide for dancers. Things like how to say hello, ask for drinks, dances, how to discretely ask the mamas to bring you water instead of booze, etc. It’ll take a fair bit of work to compile so I don’t necessarily want to do it if no one is going to use it.

That's a great idea, I'd love that!
Maybe we should have a language thread collecting useful phrases for dancers in different languages since a lot of people travel dance/meet international customers
Okay, rad! It’ll take a minute to do it the way I want, so I’ll do it on my next day off. Give me a couple days and I’ll make a google doc with info for Korean & Japanese and cross post it here and in its own thread in the general forum. I’ll make the gen thread a language-sourcing open post.

My plans on being responsible and be organized before going sort of fell through and i said fuck it i emailed a couple places but looks like im going to viken.
Hopefully i can get my shit together a little before the day i leave. I wasnt given a date yet but the situation with my boyfriend and his drama got too much and i cant “play the roll” bc we live together another fucking day. So i decided some uncomfortable struggling in a foreign place and all that anxiety sounded a lot more appealing than another day here loll
Im really excited and thank you to the ladies who shared their experiences and gave advice. Two years ago when i saw this thread I literally never thought i would want to go. I was one of those people who thpught if youre not banking why bother ? But now in this current toxic situation i have been stuck in for almost three years and my mindset right now this experience is the perfect opprotunity to get out of my head and out of this pattern of staying with a loser and remember who the fuck i am. I would have never even known this was a legit thing if it wasnt for yall

I was in a similar situation when I went to Guam. I had to literally force myself away from a toxic ex-boyfriend, AND I needed cash.
I actually have great memories from Guam BUT $$$$ wise the strip bar definitely overstated the money potential at the time.
People describe Guam as "the poor man's Hawaii." People local to there do not agree because they are next to Asia, so they get all the benefits of that without the extra isolation of Hawaii.
My advice, cross your Ts and dot your Is before you come out to Guam. Have a credit card with you in case you want to bail, and look out for Number One all the time.

I agree with all of Snuffle’s advice. I’m at a different club from you, but I’m on the island nearby and I’ll be here for a while so feel free to PM me. Again, Guam is exactly what you make of it and it can be amazing if you play your cards right. Good luck, boo!
