I know it doesn't (at least for quite some months into the pregnancy) because it's not possible to feel pain before the central nervous system has developed. The Silent Scream shows reflex movements and, like just about all pro-life propaganda, is disingenuous. You'll see reflex movements if you poke bacteria as well, yet people like yourself never argue for the right to life of parasitic virii. I guess God didn't intend for you to get swine flu in the same way that he, say, intended the pregnancies of the mothers of Stalin, Hitler and Ted Bundy.
I'm not interested in 'getting' you. Your life has nothing to do with mine, and if you choose to never terminate a pregnancy (even if it's life-threatening or an ectopic one) then I say good luck to you. I'm simply pointing out that if you're going to start openly making judgements about the choices of others, then those judgements are going to go both ways (with regard to your publicly stated ill-considered opinions rather than your life choices, since your life choices are your own business) and the giant leaps of logic that purport to support your judgemental statements are going to be exposed.
First off, the question was "what are your views on abortion"?? Not only what would you do in the situation..so therefore im going to share my VIEWS on the whole aspect of abortion which also includes how i think about the women who have had them. (since you're so well educated I would have thought you would have known that.) Like I said before I dont
care about being judged for my views...i promise ill sleep tonight. So I dont need you to POINT THAT OUT TO ME.
Secondly, I did actually get the swine flu..me and my daughter!! lol But I guess GOD didnt INTEND ON ME TO DIE. And yes I think everything happens out of God's will for a reason. But im not going to go into religion and all that bc that's not what the main subject is about.
All in all go ahead and judge me...You are a nobody to me that seems more wierd with every sentence you type. ;) have a great day!!

so, antibiotics had nothing to do with your swine flu recovery then? And if they did, how did you feel about killing the bacteria?
The thread, as you correctly pointed out, asks for views on abortion. But it doesn't ask how we feel about people who make choices different to our own or invite us to judge them. In fact, the OP suggests we keep the discussion friendly, which I'd imagine includes not mentioning that you think women who abort are scum. You could simply have said that you don't feel abortion is right (and why that is so) without adding that you hold women who've had one in contempt.
I won't respond to the ad hominem stuff because frankly, it's pretty laughable.
Have a peachy day yourself.

Did you know the legalization of abortion curbed the crime rate in America? Check it out-

Frankly if a parent is not willing to shoulder the burden of proper parenthood, no children should be produced.
I was talking about this the other day when I brought this thread up to my boyfriend.
I think there are more like-minded people (pro-abortion/TRUE pro-choice) on the board, but they can't be fucked to get into it because this topic is so annoying! I am reading it, but I do scan over what some people say because I feel like I am reading what a six year old learned at Sunday school.

I found this fascinating. The more I contemplate it, it does make sense. Generally speaking, in societies where resources become scarce due to overpopulation, the crime rate rises. Poverty breeds desperation. Also, there is less ability to focus on mental and emotional health since the economic situation is overwhelming. Thus, there is more violence. If the population growth maintains a steadier rate, then there would be less competition for resources. Thanks for the link.

I still don't get what True pro choice even means. To me pro choice means that a woman should have the choice. Just because I personally wouldn't have an abortion except for my health, rape, or disabilities doesn't mean I believe all women should follow this (though I don't like when women use it as their only form of birth control). I don't support parental notification, because I remember being a teen and I know not all girls can go to their parents (especially if a relative raped them). Public funding is an issue I am mixed on, only because not everyone feels abortion is right. I've given to NARAL and Planned Parenthood.
However, I refuse to believe that all pro life people are the same. I've met some great pro life people who didn't protest at abortion clinics. One was a former teacher who was pro life but him and his wife took in unwed mothers and helped them. This sort of reminds me of the anti abortion people who are against it in all circumstances yet think those who agree with it in cases like health and rape are pro choice. Just more extreme views.

I'm guessing that it's because some will fall into the moderate area and lean a bit more to one direction than the other, kind of like on the political scale. For example, they will allow abortion but strictly only in instances of health issues or rape. I think someone with the stance of "true" pro-abortion/pro-choice would believe that it is the mother's choice no matter what.
ETA: To be honest, I'm not really sure if there are specified terms beyond "pro-choice" and "pro-life," at least not in the official sense. It would help to offer some more clarity though, since "pro-choice" can be interpreted in a variety of ways. Perhaps someone else knows more about this topic.

That makes sense. I've actually been called pro life because I personally wouldn't likely abort which I find odd.

I don't really get it when people continually post responses about how much they don't care. It's a public forum, it's all part of the group discussion. You post something, someone may have a response to what you said and will post it. It doesn't really matter if you care or not. I think when you tell people they shouldn't have bothered to respond because you don't care, it only reveals that you're over-valuing your own role in the group discussion. It's not all about trying to change your mind.

THEY ARE! You should consider reading an abortion clinic's website.
Unfortunately, it's not just abortions...ANY repeated procedures on the reproductive organs can lead to all kinds of problems...As I so found out
I have had one ovary removed already due to a cyst the size of a grapefruit, 2 C-sections, and a tubal ligation on my one ovary left....I feel strongly that this site explains a lot of my own physical problems...
I URGE every woman I know to check out this website

Sure, but I wouldn't have deconstructed your posts (given that this is an opinion thread) had you not decided to attack women who think differently to you and have acted on that difference of opinion. You'll notice that I wasn't harshly critical of any other pro-lifers, though I did raise issues with some.
However, as far as I'm concerned, once you indicate that others are beneath you, it's game on. To expand on the God theme running through your prior posts, judge not lest ye be judged.

Very true and I know people who vote on this issue alone. I will admit I have voted for a candidate because they were pro choice. As someone mentioned to me a few years ago they doubt abortion will become illegal again because many of the anti abortion politicians aren't really that way, but doing it to appease their voters. Also interesting to note that many wives of anti abortion politicians are pro choice, including allegedly the wives of the last three Republican presidents. Besides if abortion did become illegal the anti abortion politicians would need another issue and they know this would make them lose the womens votes.

Alright ladies.....let's all calm down here.
Here's another question:
How many have kids in here? Do you think having a child would change your opinions on abortion?
For me, I look at my son and think there is no way I could do it. I'm pregnant now, and even though my husband isn't as excited as I am (and suggested abortion), I couldn't do it.
If I couldn't do it before my first son, no way in Hell could I do it now. He is too awesome to me, and why not have 2 awesome creations running around?
I guess that's how I look at it.
I know there are some people with a kid (or kids) who WOULD get an abortion. Maybe for financial reasons, or just because one is enough....
but, do you think if you had/have kids it would affect your choice??
Or does it really even matter??

Now that I have her, I still feel the same. Come on now, we are all grown, and btw, I would not want to have an abortion at this point in my life. However, I have nothing against the people who feel they do.
With that being said, I hope everyone is mature enough to be using condoms. You can order them online really cheap

I have one two-year old and have had two abortions. If I got pregnant today I would keep it as long as nothing was wrong with it. I am in an amazing, stable relationship and it is only getting better. If I wasn't in such a relationship and tragically got pregnant I would be very angry at myself, but would have an abortion. The first time that I got pregnant I was eighteen/nineteen and used the 'pulling out' method as my form of birth control--not the best. The second time that I got pregnant the condom broke and the guy didn't tell me. I know the condom broke because a few days later it came out of me. After my last abortion I decided that I need to suck it up and get on some form of birth control. I am using an IUD.

Do you think having a child would change your opinions on abortion?
Me personally, I don't think it would change my mind now, but who knows. It might change how I personally feel about abortion as it relates to me, but I don't see how it would make me anti-abortion across the board. I can imagine circumstances in which it may make someone wish they had considered abortion, so I guess it could go both ways. I imagine if someone found themselves unable to properly care for a child or found themselves unable to find a good potential adoptive parent due to a child's serious health concern. Similarly, it might not make you regret THAT child once they are there and a part of your life, but I can see how it might make a person see how it might be best for people to retain the option of having abortions.

Do you think having a child would change your opinions on abortion?
I often told my ex husband that once he held his child in his hand his whole opinion would change. You know what I've found? That's really not always the case. He was relieved when I miscarried. That was after seeing it and everything. Some people just aren't made to be parents, and that's ok, because thankfully, there are options available, and hopefully there will always continue to be options available.

Or does it really even matter??
I suspect it would matter in that case but do not know. In my case if I had gotten pregnant years ago without a doubt I would have aborted but not now. There are many reasons why but among them is because I am older and it could be my only chance to have a kid. Also, I choose men better now than I did years ago. The guy I hope I end up with is the type who would expect to marry me. He's made this known many times, including years ago when we were friends. In fact years ago he offered to marry a friend (not a girlfriend) so her baby would have a father (the baby daddy in that situation did marry her). I desperately want to have a baby with him (no, not a baby in general) and I pray he eventually is ready to be with me. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have kids. This is why I choose to abstain until I am ready for a child and so is the guy. I don't want to have to make this choice.
I do think views can change depending on the circumstances. I know years ago I used to think women who had abortions were selfish. That is until I was 19 and was raped by a boss. I skipped a period or two and I may have been pregnant. This part is tmi but when I suspected I was pregnant I stuck a clothes hanger inside me and white stuff came out. I could even feel the clothes hanger when I did that. I'll never know if I was pregnant but I could never have had a kid from rape.

It's extremely important to note that the term "partial-birth abortion" is not only medical nonsense, but the procedure itself, known as Intact Dilation and Evacuation, is NOT a viable option for pregnancy termination but is in fact used to remove an already deceased fetus.
The term is inflammatory, and yet another piece of absurd rhetoric invented by the anti-abortionists as a scare tactic. Nothing but shock value.
Fewer than 0.17% of terminations performed in the United States are done using this method.
The term is not recognized as a medical term by the American Medical Association[7] nor the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.[8] This term was first suggested in 1995 by Congressman Charles T. Canady, while developing the original proposed Partial-Birth Abortion Ban.[9][10] According to Keri Folmar, the lawyer responsible for the bill's language, the term was developed in early 1995 in a meeting among herself, Charles T. Canady, and National Right to Life Committee lobbyist Douglas Johnson.[11] Canady could not find this particular abortion practice named in any medical textbook, and therefore he and his aides named it.[12] "Partial-birth abortion" was first used in the media on 4 June 1995 in a Washington Times article covering the bill.[
Whatever your personal views on abortion, please don't be swayed by this sensationalistic nonsense.
Personally, I'm pro-abortion. It is, in all cases, preferable to producing yet another unwanted child. But you can be as anti-abortion as you want (I refuse to use the term "pro-life" because it is inflammatory and positions those who don't agree as somehow, absurdly, "anti-life") but still understand that political rhetoric does not equal scientific fact.
Am so not jumping on anyone personally, here. This is just a pedantic pet peeve very near and dear to my heart. :D
I totally understand someone being against it for themselves. As long as another's views don't infringe on my own choices, I'm down with whatever people believe. It is, for a lot of people, a really emotional issue.

LOL, that's what my husband was saying, at least if they're born on the 4th we won't have to worry about birthday presents we can just say, "There...there's some fireworks for you." :P lol
China has a one-child policy for population control and boys are favored over girls for economic reasons.
That firework remark is hilarious! "Just take these fireworks! Here! Here is a lighter and some matches. Have fun, kid!"

Okay this is to both of you lame girls..
Flickad: Yes I judge ppl and yes I believe in God..never said I was a saint. And I imagine that God probably isn't too happy w/ me being a camgirl..But that is between me and Him.
All you are doing is repeating yourself. I get it!! You don't like the fact that I judge the women who abort thier babies...well ill repeat myself...GET OVER IT bc I do. Im not saying Im right for it..but thats how I feel at the moment.
Strippername: Well you call me a moron and ill call you an ugly bitch. You trying to pull off pretty is like me trying to pull off im male. There we are even. (hince the sarcasm)
^^If you two can be petty so can I. I mean really who sits there and trys to think of things to say and the only REAL comeback you got is my spelling LMAO......
I thought we were in a stripper forum for goodness sake not an EFFIN <--(hmm you like that spelling? I did it JUST FOR YOU TWO!!) english class!! im smart and i know im smart so i dont need anyone to validate that for me hahahahah..wow too funny
If I cared to be petty I'd have bothered responding to your ad hominem attacks in kind ages ago. You've shown little sign of the intelligence you profess to possess. Perhaps you're an unsung genius, I don't know and frankly don't care. Whether you are or not, I do think that you've received about the amount of respect that you've shown.

No. I know people who've had them after having children, and though I don't want children at all, I doubt it would be different for me if I'd had one. I just don't feel sentimental about foetal life and am not a baby person anyway. Of course prevention is better than cure, but sometimes people slip up and a back up is needed.

That's precisely how I feel.
And if I ever change my mind about having my own, I don't think it would change my mind in any way.

My personal opinion is that aborting a pregnancy is a choice that should be left up to a woman who is pregnant.
I am not "pro-abortion" but I am in support of a woman's right to choose to have one.
Limits are reasonable....I don't believe a woman should be able to terminate a pregnancy in the last week of the 9th month, or whatever...but you also cannot tell me that a bundle of cells is a human being.

shaebabii>>>if she is so not worth the effort, then why do you keep responding to her?
as to the question about whether having kids would change my mind:
nope. i do not want even one child, ever. folks who know me, know how serious i am. i dont like them, and my body was not meant to be pregnant (health/sensitivity issues). I take precautions not to get pregnant, but if something failed and i became pregnant, as soon as i knew, i would be at the doctors getting rid of it.
i think it is not so much a matter of having or not having kids as it is whether you are ok with the idea (as far as abortions for non life threatening or child health issues go).
I don't really care what someones thoughts on the issue are as long as they dont try to force their thoughts on me. If you personally do not like abortion, then dont get one. Dont tell me I cant.

STRIPPERNAME: ya my lil girl is starting to get an attitude too. It's that age YAY!! lol She really is a good kid tho..she doesnt pitch a fit as much as some other kids ive seen. So im thankful!! =)
AVERY: OMG i hated tryin to train her to go to the potty..she's been trained since she first turned two but I heard that it is ten times harder to train a lil boy. So maybe pretty soon he'll be shocking you and NO MORE DIAPERS!! once you get to that point, its heaven lol
It's neat how my lil one is 5 days younger than your son Avery and 6 days older than your son Strippername!!

and that is really scary stuff!! Why didn't you go to the doctor or something??
I mentioned it to my doctor and she saw some scarring but thinks it might be because of my HPV (which was removed). If I decide to have a child I'm going to have her run more tests because if there's a way I could be sterile I'd rather know than try having a baby and unable to.

In a way I wish you would go postal because I think it could be hilarious (if these laughably crude attempts at insulting me are any indication), but I tend to agree that this has turned into a pretty pointless slanging match, so I'm just as happy to stop here.

Here's another question:

I was pro-choice before I had my son and now I am vehemently pro-choice. My pregnancy was literally hell. I was at risk of dying several times. When I went into labor, I had to endure a c-section with zero anesthetic. That was nine years ago and I still have nightmares about it sometimes.
The only way I could become pregnant now is if someone kidnapped me, held me captive until my current birth control wears off and then raped me and held me a few more days so I couldn't access emergency birth control.
I would abort as soon as possible. If it was too late to seek a legal abortion then I would throw myself down a flight of stairs over and over again until I miscarried or died. They would have to commit me to prevent me from harming myself. The thought of becoming pregnant again is absolutely terrifying for me and would probably drive me insane.
Now that I've experienced that, there's no way in hell I could ever force anyone to go through with a pregnancy. I just can't.

Thanks sexy!
I just found out the other day. Like, 3 days ago I think. I mean, I had a feeling...took 2 tests, my husband didn't believe them. Went to Planned Parenthood and they said the test came out REALLY positive. LOL!
Due sometime around July 3, 2011. :)
I'm excited because I wanted my son to have someone to grow up with and they won't be so far apart in age. I just pray I have a girl this time. :)
EEEEE! So excited for you! Any daughter of yours would be way past adorable! ;D Well wishes for your pregnancy!

I dont agree with women who use abortion as birth control. I know a girl here who has had so many abortions I cant even count.
I had one, and before I was faced with that choice, I always told myself I would NEVER have an abortion. I felt so sick about it, and thought it was the most awful thing ever. But once the shoe was on my foot, it was hard, but I knew what i had to do. I had sex with a man who intentionally tore the condom because he wanted to have kids, and I didnt even like the man at all, I just liked his money. He disgusted me and I would have never wanted to have his child. I already had a child, I surely couldnt raise yet another one.. I was using the patch also, as birth control.. but that failed. I got pregnant, and told him he needs to help me pay for an abortion because Im not having a child he fooled me into conceiving. He then went on to call me all these terrible things, and didnt pay for it at all or be supportive.
Guess I put myself into that situation, but he had no right to tear up the protection. It killed me to have an abortion, I still wonder, 4 years later, how that baby would have been. I pray for him/her everyday to watch over us, and that I am sorry for what I did, but I just couldnt raise him/ her.
Ok, so I agree in certain situations. But if its over and over again, its no good.
::in tears:: wow its strange putting that experience in writing
