charlie61 - can i ask, have you attempted to feel the strings yet? iv had a constant feeling since yesterday when it went in, like something was in myvaginal canal. a bit like the feeling of knowing you have a tampon in. so today i decided to check the area to make sure the device hadnt expelled and wasnt sitting in my v.canal. and i felt the string. easily! like...i thought they were meant to be high up by the cervix? i was about 2.5-3 cm's in?!?

Yes--you're right--they're supposed to be cut pretty short. Mine are cut very short. I can feel them, but I really have to reach (lol at that mental image...). You should probably get yours trimmed...

It still kind of creeps me out feeling for the strings. They feel very foreign. They don't hurt or anything, but...it's weird. And this coming from a girl who had a neck piercing.

i spoke to my dr today and forgot to ask about the string issue?!?! grrr. when she put it in she did tell me to not use tampons and not have sex until my check up in 2 weeks - i assume she left the string long for ease of removal if my body rejects. and i suppose she'll cut them short on my check up - hence why shes told me not to put anything in there (lol) untill shes seen me.

phew. im finally getting used to it. ran 5 miles yesterday and managed to skip rope at the gym today (albeit with a lot of of wincing and funny face pulling as i was thinking about the movement too much lol)

without sounding gross the bleeding is now more bright red in colour, but less in flow!

oh god im fed up with questioning everything now. gonna let my body get on with it and try not think about it and then see what dr says at check up!!

though im so over the moon being hormone free! i feel amazing for it.

^Congrats! And yes--you should definitely try to stop thinking about it!! That will be easier to do after your checkup.

As for me, I haven't had any cramps or any bleeding since the second day after I had it placed. I'm not too surprised by that, but it makes me very, very happy! I mean, going into all of this, I knew that my body reacts well to foreign objects based on my experiences with piercings.
