'Bambi'.
The scene where his Mom gets killed by the hunter. I was only 6 years old when I saw that, and was traumatised for months and months....................

Wow no one has mentioned Human Centipede yet? That movie made me feel weird and uncomfortable for like 2 weeks after watching it. I actually wish I hadn't watched it at all...
that was in the list on the link I posted. :)

I'd definitely put Pan's Labyrinth on the list.
Yes! One messed up movie and depressing to boot.
The most disturbing thing is how it's set out like a kids movie. Which reminds me Snow White should be up there too! Both great movies.
I love Ichi the Killer
I'd totally forgotten about that movie! I love it too, will have to get it a watch it again. Actually I think I'm going to have to make a list of the movies on here and have myself a disturbing movie marathon ;D

Oh, and The Stoning of Soraya M. After seeing that, I was very angry AND sad for weeks. Cried and my eyes were red and puffy after watching it all the way through.

Omg I watched this movie a few months ago. I thought it was really weird and definitely disturbing. Strangely enough, I watched the whole thing pretty fascinated by whoever the actress who played May was. Very well done on her part.

Anatomy of a Hate Crime, though I can't find this movie anywhere. I originally saw it on MTV, and I haven't seen it sold anywhere. >:(
I should probably kick myself out of this thread, since none of the movies I'm coming up with are horror movies....

I just watched Human Centipede. Eh. It was ok.
I can't believe I forgot to mention Martyrs. That movie broke my mind. Seriously, I would give cash money to have not ever seen it. DON'T see it. Well, ok, see it if you want permanent damage. It is the only movie I've seen in my adult life to have upset me that much.
BUT. We might have a new winner, because right now I'm downloading A Serbian Film, which supposedly sets a new standard for fucked-upness. Why do I do this to myself!? ::)

^ Were did you find a serbian film? Ive been looking for it after someone on the link page mentioned it. I watched gamorrah over the weeked it was ok but definitlely not disturbing at all! Another person mentioned ladt house on the left so I got that one too but it was the 74 version so it was more disturbing than the other but nothing big deal. Those were the only two I could find at blockbuster over the weekend but I am on the hunt for more.

Oh man, it's about child abuse??
Those are the most disturbing movies (in my opinion).
Just like An American Crime and The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things.
I couldn't even sleep after those movies and they made my heart sink. I seriously had to watch "happy" movies after seeing those.
However, I dunno why, I am drawn to watch them....now I'm gonna have to download this somewhere.

An American Crime was hard to take, mostly because it's based on a true story and most of the events in the movie actually happened. It's hard to believe that an adult would allow those things to happen to a (essentially) child.

I agree completely.
The coke bottle scene, I'll never be able to erase that from my memory. :'(

I thought the recent version of the last house on the left was a good horror movie especially compared to most recent horror..not exactly disturbing though. I think it made a hint at some of it being true but that means nothing really it could mean that one tiny thing in the film is true an they mention that because they think its scarier if it were true..which it would be.

Does anyone know a good place to download some of these movies??
Really wanna watch the ones Promnesiac mentioned and can't find them anywhere.
I mean, I found Matyrs on Pirate Bay, but it'll take FOREVER to dl...and I'm not that patient of a person LOL

Okay, just watched Serbian Film...I'm officially disturbed.
Gonna have to give my head a few days to forget that film before I can watch Matrys.
Time for a happy movie now!
That was really fucking dumb to watch before going to bed.... :-\

Avery, do you have a Demonoid account? I can PM you an invitation if you'd like. It's exceptionally good for such things.
You know, after I mentioned A Serbian Film, I got to thinking that it wouldn't be good for people with kids. :(
If you want to embark on the Martyrs journey (again, I don't recommend that), you can also get that on Demonoid. It's possible that it's not as bad as I remember, but we all have those movies that for whatever reason just destroy us.

Thank you again for the link, I had my little sister watch Matyrs (lmao, I'm awful, I know....) but she loves fucked up movies too. She said I'll like it. So I'm downloading that now.
She said it's not as bad as what I told her about Serbian Film...lol, I literally had to minimize my screen on one part because I just KNEW what was going to happen, and I really didn't want to see it. The first fucked up thing in that movie...OMFG...yeah...pretty fucking awful!

Alright, just watched Matyrs, and it was no where near as disturbing as I was expecting.
I mean, yeah, it was fucked up, but Serbian Film fucked with head more.
At least after watching Matyrs, I can still sleep and don't need a "happy movie" to cleanse my brain LOL

I completely blocked out The Girl Next Door (the original) until I saw it mentioned above. Definitely a soul-crushing movie! Did NOT think it would be like it was from just seeing the title and summary on the back. =(
I would not choose to "un-see" it, but would never watch again.

From what I was reading, it sounds like An American Crime. Child abuse by a girls aunt who gets neighborhood kids involved.
After reading about one certain scene in the movie, I definitely can't watch it. Especially since An American Crime fucked my head so bad and I hear it's a mire extreme version of the movie. :(

The kind of films I find really disturbing are the mass market tripe variety, that they expect us to take seriously--and that so many moronic media addicts do.
Like Colin Farrel as Alexander the Great. That was one of the most disturbing movies I have ever seen. It was so wrong, on so many levels.
anyway, sorry--you all might think this is threadjack, but some of these commonly accepted movies and television shows are more disturbing to me than people eating intestines and shit.

I dunno, I'm sure it was fake.
They just had a pregnant chick in a dark room, and as soon as the baby came out, the dude....well...ya know.
Luckily it wasn't close up. It was like the dude's ass and him holding the baby. ughhhhhh
The movie has some more fucked up scenes, but after that, I was careful on what I actually watched. I had to minimize my screen towards the end because I'm pretty sure the dude ended up raping his son. :'(
I just saw a child's foot, and I couldn't watch it. Then when I reopened it, his wife was there...so yeah...it was terrible.

I can't download movies anymore.
I got an e-mail from my cable company threatening to stop my service if I download anymore movies due to copyright infringement.
I downloaded the new Jackass 3-D, and they tracked my IP. :(
That sucks.

i'm weird...i found Closer disturbing. but i find mental fucks more disturbing than gore, etc. i just go 'ewwww, nasty' at that.
to make me think its disturbing, you have to get in my head.
i actually found myself curious to see a couple from that list. already saw several and was not impressed.
