:(
I can't download movies anymore.
I got an e-mail from my cable company threatening to stop my service if I download anymore movies due to copyright infringement.
I downloaded the new Jackass 3-D, and they tracked my IP. :(
That sucks.
Were you downloading from recognised Movie Sites?
You could try using File-sharing Sites like 'filestube' or 'bergfiles'.......they carry movies, and your Cable Company can't tell what you're downloading.

I got it off a torrent site.
I think it was because it was a big name movie that isn't out on video yet.
Never had any problems with the little movies I downloaded. :(

I really like all these as I like watching films that make me feel uncomfortable (in a good, thought provoking way). The romantic comedies a la K. Heigl or fratboy movies I cannot watch at all because of arising homicidal and suicidal thoughts.
The Road -it really grabs you by the guts with its hopelessness.
Lilya 4-Ever -damn that film makes you cry your eyes out in the end and the agony of that poor girl stays in your head. It's not "just a film", those things are actually happening to so many girls and women.
Blindness -the lesson: the so called civilization is a thin surface and humans are mostly just either weak or horrible creatures.
Tideland -rotting Dad, taxidermist woman, retarded young man whose friendship with a little girl hovers from friendship to pedophilia, talking doll heads...
Return to Oz -there's something supremely creepy about the Wheelers and the Queen, and the suggestion that Dorothy might be bonkers (Fairuza Balk's eyes are perfect for this) makes it deliciously darker than the Wizard of Oz.
Funny Games (original) -the director wanted the viewers to feel uncomfortable about watching violence and he succeeded. There's nothing entertaining about it, makes Tarantino look childish.
Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me -Bob.
Gacy -one can almost feel the maggots :P

night of the living dorks.
lol its some foreign (german maybe? it had voiceovers and legal teen drinking, so it was obviously european) teen comedy flick about a group of geeky guys who become zombies while they're trying to pursue getting laid by the chicks they like at high school. almost like american pie meets zombieland. thruout the movie, they start decaying and body parts start ripping off...since after all theyre zombies. in one scene, the boy is in the bedroom with some hot girl while a big party is goin on, and hes makin out with her and ready to get laid, when one of his BALLS falls off and rolls down his leg and under the bed!!! so he excuses himself, grabs the ball from under the bed before she can see, goes finds his friend, and the two of them go into the bathroom so his friend can help him staple his ball back on. ofcourse the high school bully opens the door on them doing this but from the back it appears as if the friend is giving the other guy head, not stapling on his ball, so rumors go thruout the whole party that they're "fags"! it was so twisted and dumb it was actually hilarious tho. haha

This thread opened up my Netflix experience...a lot. The comments on the article listed in the OP were better recommendations than what the author listed. O___o
The more people say to NOT see "A Serbian Film", the more I want to. But I can't find it anywhere. Granted, I haven't looked all that hard. All I know is that Netflix doesn't have it available (and probably never will if it's that bad).
I quote from Wikipedia:
Tim Anderson of the horror review site "Bloody Disgusting" likened the movie to "having [his] soul raped" and dissuaded anyone reading his review from ever seeing it, writing: "If what I have written here is enough to turn your feelings of wonder into a burning desire to watch this monstrosity, then perhaps I haven't been clear enough. You don't want to see Serbian Film. You just think you do."

Ichi the Killer had a couple of scenes that disturbed me. Which is a pretty hard thing to do.

Yes, that review is actually what cemented my desire to see the movie. Damn. I don't want to sound like some arrogant douchecock, but if it's the most disturbing film ever, I want to see it. I've been raised on horror/gore. Literature, films, etc. Very little gets to me anymore (the only scenes that actively make me cringe in films anymore involve fingernails...I can't stand fingernail scenes). Most of what they bring out nowadays is just...I don't know. Generic? I want to see just how far this pushes the envelope because as is evidenced by the movies mentioned in the article in the OP...people are kind of soft? Who was honestly disturbed by "Paranormal Activity"? Really.
I'm morbidly curious to a fault. I'll probably watch it, hate myself for doing so because it'll remind me of just how fucked-up humanity is, and then also be simultaneously fascinated with the individual that created it. -___-;;;
If you have kids, I really wouldn't recommend watching it.
It's definitely the most fucked up movie I have EVER seen.
but I know what you mean, I have that damn curiosity too...lol
Make sure to have a happy movie on stand by when you do watch it.
Have you tried a torrent site? That's where I downloaded it from.

I'd definitely put Pan's Labyrinth on the list.
Also some weird German movie I saw years and years ago, can't remember the name but it was about a teenage couple who run away and get lost in the woods; they've never had sex because the guy can't get it up. They end up being captured by some creepy dude and locked in his cabin with some other guy that creepy man kills and chops off his dick - feeds it to limp dick boy who a day or two later realises he's gay when he gets hard while having sex with creepy killer dude.
Yep, that ones definitely on the list.
why do I want to watch that now....

No kids (yet). And torrents scare me! Aren't they riddled with viruses? Also, my isp said about a year ago that they're monitoring usage for illegal downloads.
Happy movies will be on deck.
I've never had any problems with viruses from torrent sites.
The only time I had a problem with the torrent site was from downloading Jackass 3. :(
Got caught...lol
With movies like Serbian Film, Matyrs, Feed, (other 'small name movies'), never any problems. :)
So as long as you're not downloading something that's not on video yet and a big name, I think you're fine. :)
I just did a search to see if you could purchase it anywhere, but I guess most places refuse to even have the film...lol...damn, that's crazy!

:rotfl: Viva la USA! I can understand though...not much of a market for such smut. ::) Guess I'll get on downloading it and tread with caution.
Netflix has both Martyrs and Salo though. Martyrs is next up in my queue actually...
That one was good. I could watch that one again. It's gross, but it didn't really disturb me like Serbian Film, An American Crime and The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things did.
Let me know how Salo is, I was gonna download that one next until I got in trouble for downloading Jackass LOL

If only because Sasha Baron Cohen seems to think that humiliating and dis-respecting people in their own homes and communities is funny and clever.

Haven't read through all of this...so sorry if this is repetitive:
I know it has been mentioned already but Dumplings was probably the most disturbing movie I have ever seen. Disturbing, but very very good. IMO the ending on the extended version suxor. Check out this ending: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89i70YTP17o
I second The Road. The book was quite depressing but the movie was just haunting.
Imprint(Masters of Horror)- Much of the movie is quite corny but they have a torture scene where they show everything. Aghhgh!
mediocrity
10-06-2011, 05:50 PM
^^ I LOVE Imprint!!!
Nothing really shocks or disturbs me. I love anything with guts and violence in it. I loved Irreversible. Gaspar Noe is amazing. My other favorite film makers are Dario Argento (I have a huge Suspiria tattoo), Mario Bava, Takashi Miike, David Lynch, and Harmony Korine. Anything that isn't gory, disturbing or off kilter in another way just bores me.
Y'all want to see a fucked up movie? Watch Uzumaki. Nothing quite like someone committing suicide in a washing machine.

Dumplings is incredible, I was even more blown away that that was Bai Ling! I have to see more movies she's in b/c she was fantastic.
Anyone seen the documentary "The Bridge"? Very quiet calm serene kind of disturbing.

I haven't seen this movie, but I watched the trailer & I wish that I could unwatch it -A Serbian Film. It also centers around a retired porn star. It's so fucking horrifying. Anything w/ a baby rape scene, just makes me want to rip my eyeballs out

As a rule, I don't watch horror or torture porn type movies. I'm more into the psychological thrillers.
But if I know certain scenes or the subject matter (child abuse and animal cruelty are big no-nos to me) will get to me, I don't watch them.
To this day, I haven't seen and will refuse to see movies like Precious or documentaries like The Cove.
I've read American Psycho and it disturbed the bejebus out of me, so I refuse to watch the movie.
For the most part, scenes and not movies disturb me, but there are a few exceptions.
Se7en (Each, uh, punishment was disturbing in itself, but Lust was the one that got to me.)
Boys Don't Cry (It was a true story. I was working in an independent movie theatre in college and they were showing this. I had time before I had to go back out to the popcorn counter for the next show, so I decided to watch a bit of it. I had to wash my face before going back to work.)
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (I knew what the musical was about, but to see it graphically over and over again was too much for me. Then I started feeling sorry for those gentlemen who went into the barber, thinking they were just going to get a shave. At one point, my dad asked if I wanted to leave. I said no, because I wanted to see the movie through. The throat slitting that was there disturbed me, but that was only part of the movie. Plus, I'm a Tim Burton fan . . . . . I do refuse to own it on DVD, though.)
Zodiac (Especially the scene with the young couple. My cousins and I rented it one night and it went a bit longer than we expected. Since we all had to be up early the next morning, we stopped the movie. I have no desire to continue watching.)
The hammer scene from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I didn't see the movie but that scene was part of those horror movie countdowns. That scene stayed with me for a while.

One more:
Pink Flamingos (I tried watching it. I'm a huge fan of John Waters, but I had to turn it off once they brought the chickens into the bed. What's that they say, "It's erotic if you're using a feather. It's kinky if you're using the whole damn chicken"?)

No but I want to see it! None of it bothers me because I know it isn't real. To me that's like being scared of vampires. It isn't real, so why be scared of something that doesn't exist? I'm a really stoic person. I'm going to hunt down the trailer.
Dumplings I have heard of! Whenever I get my new tv this month (haven't had one for a year and a half) I'm going horror and shock movie crazy.

Omg, I haven't watched the whole movie, only clips from it. So gross!!!

But, the dog shit scene in this movie had me gagging, lol!

My two top choices:
Clockwork Orange: The stuff in this movie was just outlandish.
Schindler's List: How could any group of people do all of those things to another? I kept bouncing back and forth between deep sadness and outright rage.
Anyway, I saw a few others mentioned in this thread that are contenders. Hard Candy was a fucked up movie and would probably make my top ten.

I've been dissapointed with the films I've watched so far on the list. Gamorrah, anti christ(boring except for like the last half hour of the movie) I saw a few reccomendations from the comment list and here itchi the killer( over the top gore it was actually more comical than disturbing)I found two decent south koean films on my own the chaser and I've seen the devil. While both weren't that disturbing they were really good film. With the chaser being the more disturbing of the two imo. Disturbing to me is a movie were I can't go to sleep right away without watching something else first and I'll think about it for a few days( especially at bedtime).

If you want to watch a film that will absolutely crush your soul, watch Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father. It's a documentary about a doctor who is killed by his ex-girlfriend, and after his death she announces she's pregnant with his child. The man's parents fight for custody of the baby while she is allowed to walk free on bail.
It doesn't sound like much, but watch it. I was in tears throughout most of the film and by the time it was over I felt totally numb, traumatized even. It's the saddest, most unfair and most infuriating story. Just thinking about the unimaginable pain and horror these people went through makes me feel sick to my stomach.
I found the whole movie on Youtube:

That reminds me of Two Mothers for Zachary. It was based on a true story about a mother who disapproves of her daughter's lesbianism and the impact on her grandchild. The grandmother sued for custody. The courts ruled that the daughter was an unfit parent and the grandmother was awarded custody of her grandson.

Haha, I guess I'm the only one here who loved Serbian Film. I thought it was funny, it was so over-the-top...I guess that baby rape scene really gets to people, but I thought it was much tamer than all the hype over it. Also, I loved the plot, I thought it was really creative.
Salo is a great movie that I watched last week. If anyone has ever seen the movie Quills, it's based off of the book Marquie de Sade was writing on the sheets. I went in thinking it was going to be a fucked up hardcore porn movie, and it was more similar to Hostel, with a sex element. Really great horror movie.
I also love Hostel and all of the Saw movies. Ichi the Killer and Tetsuo are both amazing as well. Tetsuo has a really creative scene involving a "penis" and I can't give anything away but it is awesome.
Another disturbing film (or series of films) are the Guinea Pig films. Amazingly realistic special effects, it was thought to be an actual snuff film at one point, so the filmmakers released a behind-the-scenes documentary to prove it was a piece of art.
All of the Faces of Death are fake, I just watched this documentary called "Does Snuff Exist" and the director was talking about making them.
Ooh! The Loved Ones is a great movie. It's about this girl who kidnaps this guy for not taking her to prom and she holds like a private prom in her house with her dad and they torture the shit out of him. The actress in that movie is amazing, as well as the victim. Really graphic and creative.
The most disturbing documentary I've ever seen is from this porn documentary series called "The Dark Side of Porn", The Real Animal Farm and it's about bestiality porn in the 70s and centers around the main actress who pretty much loved to fuck her animals and how she got exploited by the porn industry and it totally fucked over her entire life (not that her upbringing, um, helped any). By the end of it I was completely shaken up and I'm still thinking about it days and days later. It's even more intense because it's all true.
Another good fucked up documentary is called Crazy Love and it's about this woman who had this ex-boyfriend stalk her and throw lye in her eyes and blinded her. If you already know the story the ending won't be quite as dramatic because, well, you know what happens, but going into it not knowing anything made for an intense view.

I can't believe I forgot Cannibal Holocaust! Yes, the animals are actually murdered, but it's because the cast/crew ran out of food and needed to eat.
