They won't find SHIT about me...except a few places I USED to live at. I keep to myself so even if she tries to blackmail me, who gives a fuck?
What a stupid cunt. YEAH, being a psycho nutjob will TOTALLY boost your OWN credibility, talents, and whatever else you're looking for... *rolls eyes*

I got this guy a few weeks ago that said he had my info and that someone was posting my pics on a website i had never heard of... he gave me a link, i did not click it thank god...
so i asked a few webmasters that i knew had more exp in things like this and they said that if you click that link it downloads a virus onto your comp without you knowing, that gives this person remote access into your comp and anything he wants to see so any passwords id's and even credit card info you have stored on your system is know his to see..
if you happened to fall for this you need to start running virus checks right away and or get the best virus protection you can find and start making sure you know whats going on in your comp..
I feel like this is like breaking into our house, there breaking into our lives and like raping us... as hackers have been doing for years..
i guess with this back door virus this person can even watch you on cam and see anything u do if you are a cam model...
so fucken nuts but i thought i would share with you what can happen when we don't even have any idea..
the hackers seem to get off on making are lives hell... even with yahoo messenger i guess when a guy talks to us that way there is a way to ping are ip address right from are messenger, i dont really understand how since im not a hacker!!! But seems like no matter what we do on the net there is atleast a small risk these very smart freaks are messing with are privacy...
Happy V Day!
Nice to chat girls... Pink

Camwhore- I am so sad and disgusted by this! People are friggin crazy. But I just wanted to share how easy it is to get someone's IP through yahoo messenger:
Find IP Address of Yahoo Messenger Users
Make and Instant Message with User aka Target
Send a Webcam or Picture in IM Windows of Yahoo Messenger
Open Command Prompt Window (Start >> Run >> cmd)
In Command Prompt windoows type “netstat -n” or “netstat -a” (without quote!)
You’ll see IP Address Port of all your connection
Find Remote port 80 or 81
Get the Internet Protocol Address of that port
Done!
So, I would tell all girls to just stop using file sharing and direct chat in yahoo, msn, etc. ... open a chat room, a proxy server, or use some other type of platform in order to chat. I know it sucks, but the internet just allows too many wanna-be stalkers, hackers, freaks, a$$hole people to gain access to your whole life.

I had that same guy except he said he was going to kill me and rape me. He went from talking about killing me and burying me in the park to wanting to take me out to tea. LMAO fail.

From another post of mine....
I am not sure how many women here know not to give out their current driver's license for IDs purposes for 2257 compliance but I wanted to offer some advice.
Most cam sites require you to send a scan of your ID as proof of being 18 when you sign up. You guys often worry about your cam show content being put up on other sites and resold.
Well if you cam for a company that has affiliates your ID may also get passed around with the content. It is actually required by 18 USC 2257. Usually when a company licenses content to another site - they sell it and with it comes the all the model releases and the IDs. And some companies that have affiliates also provide the same information to them. Which means its possible that some random guy that signs up to promote your cam shows may be able to get a copy of your ID.
I strongly suggest that anyone working in the industry go and get a PO Box and use that as their address on a state issued Identification Card. I know this is allowed in California. As for other states I am not sure, but I would check with your state's DMV to see if you can use a PO Box on a state ID card. And NEVER give anyone your social security card as ID and NEVER EVER use a credit card as secondary ID. (yes I have seen 2257 docs with girls credit cards contained in them)
Stay safe and be smart.
Quite honestly getting a camgirls IDs and info doesnt require a hack, if thats what really happened here. All it usually requires that someone sign up as an affiliate to the website. Under US law a copy of your ID and information MUST be provided with any content an affiliate if going to use to promote the site.
Also, if this was a hack job then every girl on that site has a viable lawsuit. Under most state's laws the company has to report the potential that sensitive personal information was compromised. Most states have a statute that even sets out the amount of money the site most pay in case this happens.

I am an affiliate of camwealth and I do not have our models information.
Dancing Days

I love you, Pornlaw.
Sooooo. Everyone is hacked... or it was just the camwealth owner being a fucktard and keeping the IDs in an unlocked directory...? Yeah, I said it. It doesn't take a hacker to figure out how a site directory works.
Hacking is one thing, forgivable. Putting IDs willynilly is another, unforgivable.
Maybe the girl just said camgirlspot because she was trying to misdirect?
My bad. I see. Camgirl spot as well according to camwealthguy.
Hmmm. I knew they had trouble with site design, but SERIOUSLY. If you can get one thing right, let it be privacy. Even if it's removing the IDs from the upload area and putting them in an old fashioned filing box.
I am super disappointed.

I'm affiliate to several sites and never had access to any model's ID.
indeed, it sucked what happened. I still think it's need a person from inside to access it or a very good haker. If the model doesnt use the same id for work n social network with real life friends, it shouldnt happen.
So the model/employee of camwealth had access to all the IDs? even if the security issue is fixed, she still have them, right?

In a PM conversation, one of my MFC regulars asked me "Who is ____? (my real name) Is that one of your aliases?" I had to play it off, but in my mind I thought "FUCK! Why is Yahoo! showing my REAL name in my outgoing e-mails when I updated it to show my alias instead???" My Yahoo! Mail settings, including my profile, DOES NOT have my real name anywhere on there, and it hasn't in a long time. It's just my alias, so that is what SHOULD be showing up in the outgoing field when I send out e-mails. I don't know why the hell my real first name showed up when I was e-, but some similar shit happened with my Amazon wishlist info. When I had finally figured out how to post my Amazon wishlist onto my MFC profile, for the one minute that it was on my profile it was showing my REAL name and REAL location, for some reason (when you clicked on it). I noticed it and immediately just deleted the link from my MFC profile...smh.

I have heard way too many stories about stalkers making up bullshit stories about how they sent something and it wasn't received and needing the address it was sent to. I have a whole different state as my fake location so I won't even use a po box.
If they can't send me a gift card where all they get is my email then they can't send me anything. I do have an Amazon profile with ONLY my email in there and the only on thing I have for my wishlist is email Amazon gift cards plus kindle books which can be downloaded, no mailing addy needed. If you love books put some kindle ones on there - there's a free reader you can download if you don't have a Kindle.

I just want them to send me e-gift cards so that I can buy what I want, and never have to worry about them getting my name and town. I'm not linking my Amazon wishlist anymore. E-gift cards for Walmart/Target/Amazon/eBay (I know eBay has regular gift cards...not sure about e-gift cards though) would be cool.

`Absolutely no excuse for this. Do not accept it. If I were one of the people, the class action suit would already be in the works, Michael (pornlaw) would already have been written, etc. There is absolutely NO excuse for every storing these IDs ONLINE...2257 stuff can all be stored on a hard-drive which is not online, and these people took reckless chances with your info which could lead to some asshole dumping your info for the world to see.
I can't even believe this exists...it is so amateur and sloppy and needless...damn.
So sorry ladies. I feel for you.

PS I promise, I'll never store yer personal info ONLINE, if I can every get these sites up...

Like PornLaw mentioned, those affected have a nice little lawsuit in your hands.
Exactly the same thing happened to a fellow camgirl I met, many years ago. She was so affected by this event, no sleep, scared of anyone coming to hurt her, etc... The site owners never took correct measures to protect the models privacy. All files, scanned ID's, Contracts, were saved on a pc that was later hacked by an upset I.T Tech guy whom the site owners owed money to. So he was harassing the girls, and blackmailing them, entering into their Computers and taking over the chats. Amazingly, only this one girl took legal action against the site owners. Let's say, she was awarded a huge lump sum of money, and the site was forced to shut down. The Tech guy was caught and justice was served.
Thank you for sharing this information!!

This is freakin' scary. The only breach of privacy I've experienced so far came when I checked an old email address for the first time in months... I got an email with the subject line "(real name), I'd like to arrange a show sometime". The email itself was empty.
I have no idea who that was or how they knew my name... I was too scared to ask who it was so I just deleted it and tried to forget about it. In retrospect, I should have done something.

OMG that is so scary! I feel for you girls who have had this happen to you and I hope that you can sue and get some peace of mind. Camwhore I think you handled that in the best possible way. You have balls of steel.
What also is screwed up is that we weren't even sent an email. To know our shit is fucked uo (and not even know, how vague) we have to sign into yahoo for a message! :(

Just a couple of thoughts...
First: Camwhore, you're amazing. To have that happen and not lose your shit is so impressive. I tend to keep a level head, but I don't know if I would have kept my cool for as long as you did. It's awesome that you didn't give this person the satisfaction they were looking for.
I'm really jumpy about my i.d. in general, so rather than sign up for a bunch of sites, I've been signing up slowly. The next on my list was camwealth, so I can't say enough how much I appreciate how forthcoming you've been about the status of all this.
I'm no lawyer, but I've been through something similar in the past. You should be able to sue, but even if you can't, or don't want to, document anything and everything you can. Save emails, screencap, jot down times and dates whenever someone threatens you. If this person really does reach out and harass friends/neighbors/families/employers, document that too. In the off-chance things become worse (and I hope that never happens) or when you decide that you do want to sue, it will be so valuable to have every tiny thing, every threat and sketchy IM chat, documented.

if you recently got a message from somebody saying they are from icandycams ( dont got to that site), then thats how you got it. When you got to that site the malware/virus/whatever is instantly downloaded to your computer, allowing the other people to either keylogyou or have remote access.
I had someone keylogg me, in oct... stole all the accounts i log into, becuase now my computer was sending him all the stuff i was "typing". I had to remove the virus by doing SO MUCH, end the end, he stole crdit catd info, spent some of my money, made a membership to my site, and tried to foward all my camming money to his overseas bank, and this fool was sitting here right in the US!

How can we be sure that our socials are not out there? That is the biggest concern of mine. Id theft is the biggest fear, not to mention the fact that people form my personal life could see this info.
CamWhore, did you see any social security numbers on the site that had the id's? That is my main concern here. Of course I know that even with out my social, a savvy person can still get it by way of my name, id number...

IDs ARE USELESS?!?!?!?! WHY DOESN'T THIS ASSHOLE PUT HIMSELF IN OUR FUCKING SHOES?
Sorry, I rarely ever type in Caps like this but this is fucking nuts. How do they have the balls to say "Well we have been informed that IDs are basically useless and public knowledge"
Since when are IDs public knowledge when this is a business where REAL NAMES and addresses are not given out like in the real world? What about fucking discretion? This guy thinks we're fucking morons.

I know for a FACT that id's are very useful. I will not post on a public forum what all I know people can do with that info, but they can definitely do some damage if they want. This is not 1985 where technology was not so advanced. People can do damage knowing your real name alone! I am very concerned! Just imagine the theft, the cam stalkers? smdh
camwealth had better fix this shit, and fix it soon.

Question for those in this thread.....
I have been asked by XBiz (www.XBiz.com) for info on this story. Since its not my story to give do you guys want this issue discussed in XBiz ? I cant prevent it, but I know that they dont know much about it yet and I can refer one of their writers to this thread.
Would anyone want to be quoted in XBiz in relation to the story ?
