Hello Kitendolly welcome to the forum and camming. Im going to move this post Starting Place For Camgirls (https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?150383-Starting-Place-For-Cam-Girls) its a good place to start and lots of previous posters will get alerts so that they can help you.

Wait are you asking about that shady studio that shall not be named? I just caught on to that. Also they don't just let people get out of their contracts so if you are legitimately asking for help you may not have too many options.

No problem, thanks for moving it to the appropriate location. And yes, I am speaking of that apparently evil place, which I am really upset that I never found anything about their contracts before I found the forum. However, I will say, when I first made my account and wanted to suspend it, they didn't argue with me or ask questions. Also, there's a huge disclaimer at the top of the model portal faq that clearly states that they don't have a problem with you working on other sites, as long as you're not streaming at the same time. Oh AND, they also sent me an automated notice recently that my account would be suspended in 6 weeks, if I don't work, (because I asked for my account to be reinstated two weeks ago but I only started working this week). So technically if I don't work for 8 weeks, they automatically suspend the account anyway, as far as I can tell. I haven't noticed anything shady, preventing my ability to work elsewhere, but I will find the contract and look at it again.

Can I ask what website did you work on through this studio?

kitendollyxo

I worked through the webcam models portion. I found the contract, and YES, it does say that you can't work for their affiliates, I'm aware that streamates and chaturbate are the main ones. However, I signed the contract over a year ago, so I'm fairly sure that's void for me now, if I tell them to suspend my account ASAP.

To be honest you're not gonna get any positive reviews on that studio. They are notorious for using underhanded tactics to keep models on contract and keeping them in the dark. Now if you are saying you signed up for www.webcams.com not sure what the time out contract says. For Streamate they have a grandfathered agreement to hold models for up to 1 year of inactivity before they can sign up to SM directly.

Searching for a site that might be better suited for POC, well that really just depends on you. How you present yourself and if you do your own promo. I tend to not think about race too much when I get online because theres nothing I can do about what color I am. Most sites only have a sprinkle non-white models any way. So what Im trying to say is any site with good traffic has the potential to become a money maker. You just have to learn the culture of the site and work on how you can stand out from the heap.

kitendollyxo
10-01-2016, 08:56 AM
I don't have any issue really with the race thing either, there's nothing I can do to fix the racism, but if the site is specifically catering to white clientele then I'm putting energy into a place that's not going to get me positive results in a timely manner. It's about practicality, more than racism itself. There's always a market for POC, I have no worries about that :)

As far as the contract, everything is stated as being for only up to one year, so yes, my wait period is up anyway, so I'm free to sign up wherever I like. I'm pretty sure I'd like to try MFC, which is not affiliated with them, regardless.

I've been camming for a little while now, but I still have yet to make much money. The guys just want freebies, and aren't willing to tip. I literally made 55 cents yesterday.
Suggestions on how to get the guys to spend money?

Hii peoples

I'm a bit anxious of my future. This has the reason, that when I will quit camming in a year or lesser, I want to become a professional actress. Let's say, I'm not saying I could be but, many people call me pretty talented if it comes to acting, if I end up being a bit famous in my acting career later, will my cam girl past be a real problem for my acting career? I know there are many dickless men out there recording us and trying to sell our shows and other people showing our nudes around for years, but the real problem is I can't DMCA claim them, only googling my cam girl name is making me getting huge panic attacks since I hate being exposed for less money. Is there any way to take them down without to google your name? DMCA isn't helping much with the badge anyways...

And if I one day want that stuff to be taken down completly, aren't there any companies who do that? I heard Hollywood famous people go to companies who they pay for taking down stuff of themselves on the internet which they don't like, but I forgot the name of it! I'm afraid that in my future acting career, I will fuck up really hard because of my past, the media finding out about it and I'm losing everything - The roles I get paid for, my (future) acting pals, EVERYTHING. I heard of an ex pornstar being exposed and losing her husband and her acting career, but I don't even do real porn, only masturbation, so being exposed for this little thing would just be unfair!! Becoming a professional actress is my dream and is the only thing I want to do long term in my life, it would hurt me to go back into camming or the sex industry after fucking up my future for the second time. I'm pretty sure that would lead me to suicide if my career would be ruined because of my past!

The things I will do after quitting camming, which I have been thinking about are the following:
-I have a not so nice nose shape and a big face, I will do surgery for that.
-I will also change my make-up style to less to no make-up at all.
-I will change my hairstyle

If these little changed will not be enough and I still will be exposed later, that would be a catastrophe! I really don't want that and it scares me!! :'(

Holy crap reading this is one GIANT anxeity attack

FEAR - false evidence appear real. I know whatever you think go wrong is very real for you but if you let that fear keep growing you will never try and be acctress let alone a famous one.

So you want to be an actress great, you think one day you will be a famous one great ... The thing is your career of camming of whatever content you have on the internet might not even show up unless you want to create some scandal in your career. look how many damn celebrities out there come out with some sex tape, some fucked up divorce go on stupid reality show to revive their dead end I am not centre of attention career.

Why are you worried about something that has happened yet. become famous then worry about it. The thing about being famous you tend to have a lot more mooney to make problems go away.

Like serious the lack of self confidence around here is becoming suffocating.

I hate these kinds of 'Will I be outed?' 'Will it ruin my future career?' because it stigmatizes sex work and perpetuates a lot of stereotypes.

Plus a lot of FEAR that doesn't actually exist because the person usually posting has NOT actually gone through the said career they are working towards.

I've posted many times how in 2008 I've lost 2 jobs because co-workers gossip about me being in porn. and I've bounced back from it.

what if this bad thing happens thread and I haven't taken any action to achieve that goal is exhausting.

Im moving this to Starting Place For Camgirls. Mostly because its where all newbies should start. Also Please use the search option before you create a new thread. Up top in the stickies there is a thread that goes over how to do a search. Ya'll just gotta read it. And hopefully for the newbies who actually do read the stickies the previous post just might be an eye opener for them.

This thread doesn't exactly talk about closing the deal but it does give some great tips. If you read through it you may get some ideas on how to make it last longer than...that :) https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?150777-Ways-To-STALL-and-Make-More-Money&highlight=h0ttie

For me I look directly into my camera and flirt. I give them a few mins. Not very long. When I dont hear the sound of money or a private starting I turn it off. Ignore them and start it all over again with the next one. If guy A. liked the attention, then he will miss it when Guy B enters the room. You have to make them pay for your attention. Everyone is different, but this works for me because I don't like to hang out and chill on free chat sites.

It will take a while to become that famous to make people dig about your past. Meanwhile, you will be famous enough for your acting talent, rather because of your past and you will be able to give them a huge middle finger.
The only option would be to talk about your past, about your camgirl short career naturally, like nothing wrong happened, so you can shut up the assholes from the first.
Remember Sylvester Stallone was a porn actor and nowadays nobody would give a shit about it anymore.
The more uncomfy you feel, the more they will eat you. Unfortunately, Hollywood is a place full of sharks who have no problem seeing you drawning in misery.
The only option is to be brave, keep your head up and be proud of every single moment of your past. Mention that camming has helped you when nobody did. Make it sound like something really amazing. That way, nobody can drag you down. And that way, any scandal will pass faster, since nobody is interested to see a confident person, not giving a shit about internet and news says about it.
And the most important, make sure you are going to rock the new job: being an actress. A few awards, a few charity actions and a bit of hard work on set to prove who you really are, will let behind all the shit.

Actually,Bananabunny, many of actors and actresses worked as sex workers. Even Marilyn Monroe and Al Pacino had to work as escorts in order before their acting got together. Meanwhile, many B level actresses still need to do sex work while lining up the parts. In fact, my fashion designer friend also does sex work on the side in between designing. Here is my point, doing sex work does not matter in entertainment or real estate fields as much as means in the corporate world. You will be fine as it takes awhile for your mainstream entertainment career to get up and running. Just have no scandals and just work on your craft. Plus, you should not be going around telling everyone about your past.

I used to strip in a club in my town but it was sold to a church(ugh) so I have just been missing it for a while, closest ones now are over an hour away and I don't trust my self driving that far that late. I found camming and have had some health problems the last few months that prevented me from starting. I have done a little on Chaturbate and have a MFC but I don't have anyone to ask the questions I have. Even answering one is a help!

What social websites should I be making?
What camming sites should I look into?
What do you do during that time of the month?
I often times pee if I squirt, how can I prevent that?
What items should I definitely buy?
How will taxes be done?
Does the new model sign on MFC start at first broadcast and end after 10 hours online?

I only use Streamate and its been a good source of income for me so far. I've been told using twitter is extremely useful to cam girls, but I have yet to do so. I always stream that time of the month, I only need to use thin liners so I just make sure no one sees it while I'm taking things off. But there are always other things you could do without showing your vagina if you have toys or props you might play with. You should try to always pee before and after shows. I would definitely buys some toys and outfits, any fun props you might want to use :)

What are the pros, are there any cons for Streamate? I do use the bathroom prior but no matter what I do it just happens more often than not. I even got the courage to ask my doctor about it and she looked at me like I was crazy, it's a bit detrimental in this case though. I do have some toys and a bunch of outfits but only basics so is that good enough to start?

Streamate is a really good starting place, especially if you haven't been on camera often. :photos: You can decide before hand what you want to do in your room/show that way you will be comfortable :dreams::idea:, the site is easy to function and there is decent traffic :grouphug:. Figure out what times work best for you, I usually go on in early mornings/daytime. :cloud9: Although I recently started Saturday nights, which has been a really good night for steady income. I also have daily pay, which is a huge pro! :pickle::highfive:

Hola girls,

I'm new here. This is my first post. I am so happy to find this resource. Thank you for sharing all this great info.

A little about me...

I'm a 27/F living in Mexico and I'm interested in starting to cam. Here are my questions. I hope you girls can help me.

1. From what I have read it seems that many people vouch for chaturbate. Is this the best place for me to start in your opinion?

2. I would prefer not to show my face so I thought I would wear this really nice custom leather mask (think: masquerade/swinger mask) that I had made in Spain. Do you think this would be OK to wear everytime I'm on cam? Here's an idea of the mask I will use:

3. What is the best way to get paid? Since I'm Mexican, I need a way to get paid directly to my Mexican bank account. I have read about accepting Amazon gift cards which sounds ok but what if I want actual cash and not credit towards gifts on amazon? It seems to me that it's a lot easier for those in the US to get paid (direct deposit, checks, etc). What are my best options for accepting payments here in Mexico?

4. I would probably start camming solo but would be open to having my boyfriend join me on some sessions as well. I have read many things about couples camming sometimes being a lot more profitable. Is this true? If so, is it okay to have my solo account and invite my bf for couples sessions every now and then or should i make two separate accounts (one for solo one for couples)?

5. Are there any Mexican camgirls out there that would be willing to fill me in on how you got started and how I can start on the right foot?

I hope that's not too many questions for my first post! :O

As always, thank you in advance!

I've just started camming and I'm not sure why I didn't start this a long ago. So much less work on the knees!

Anyhow, when you are signing up for different sites - Do you keep the same name or have a different name for every site? Thoughts?

I use a few different names. But I make sure to use the same name on my social media as my camsites. This way guys can find me on google.

Do you think this would be OK to wear everytime I'm on cam? Here's an idea of the mask I will use: custom leather mask (https://img1.etsystatic.com/114/0/6213055/il_570xN.918799467_pb6r.jpg)

- Sunny xx

I'm Mexican. I've been camming for a living for two full years now! I also started on Chaturbate, but it was on SM that I managed to make it into a real job. I've found that the general getting started threads works pretty much as well for us, so they're a great source for research! In general the idea is that there is no one right place to start for a newbie. Be warned that out of all the camsites listed, some of them don't take Mexican models... I'd tell you which but I'm afraid I forget haha. Just try them out and see what works best for you.
Camming with a mask seems like a good idea, but you'll lose the use of your face for the hustle.... and I don't think I could pull that off. You'll have to figure out a way to inject a unique personality to it, but I think it can totally be done!
as for payment I get paid with a payoneer card, it was very easy getting it and I get my payments like clockwork automatically every friday. It works like a regular Mastercard. It's a bit abusive with atm disposals, but you can factor that into your prices and I just try to pay everything with the card directly.

good luck, there are definitely not enough mexicanas out here! represent!

I use a few different names. But I make sure to use the same name on my social media as my camsites. This way guys can find me on google.

Thank you so much!

I am just starting out and I see lots of posts saying don't get discouraged and I am trying not to. I'm not worried about the money coming in right now, I know that will come in time. But for the love of God, how do I keep viewers in my room? I know I've tried games and as I suspected you need lots of people to make them work. I feel like I am talking to no one and looking bored because nothing is happening.

My MissLadyLovely, Welcome to the Forum! This article on How To Break The Ice In Freechat (https://boleynmodels.com/how-to-break-the-ice/ref/105) may help you. No. 1 you just have to relax and take it easy. Read a few books on the art of seduction. Sorry if this is sounding vague.

I've started asking guys if they want to play i-spy in my overly decorated room - Makes some of them stay in.

Dumb question.

Can you drink on cam? I gotta have some wine to deal with this constant "bb" shit.

Since there's no way to comment directly on your article, I wanted to say that it's a damn good one! Thanks for writing that, PGD.

I don't usually have a lot of trouble with free chat, but the reminder about customers watching even when we can't see them is gold. A lot of guys that take me private say things like, "I was just browsing, but then you looked so good, so I had to come play." For a long time, I kept thinking, "Um, you just got into my room 3 seconds ago, what are you talking about?" Finally I realized that they weren't logging on until they were ready to go private, and they had been sitting in my room without me knowing.

Also, several sites give MAJOR placement bumps to models who can get guys to sign up to the site for the first time. Potential new sign ups (conversions) start out as the guys sitting in your room with no screen name, the ones you can't even see. Performing for the "invisible" guys, even if no one appears to be in your room, can be really valuable.

Anyhow, when you are signing up for different sites - Do you keep the same name or have a different name for every site? Thoughts?
A lot of ladies like to use the same name everywhere and build their "brand name." It's not especially important when you're new, but if you end up working on a lot of sites, you may want all your customers to be able to google you and end up at the same Twitter/Instagram/Snapchat/website/etc. If you use 5 different names on 5 different sites. you have to either figure out how to funnel all those five names to the same Twitter, or have 5 Twitter accounts to go with each name.

There can definitely be good reasons to use different names, though. For example if you want to do hardcore bitch Femdom on one site and be a nice girl next door on another site, you may not want a lot of cross over traffic.

Likewise if you're on your main site/sites where you charge more, and also on lower 'side sites' just for the extra income. You might not want to use the same name on the lower paid sites in case your good customers find you there x

Hey everyone! I have a few questions, I know they might be redundant but I'm kind of on my own and would really appreciate the help. That said, I have always been interested in camming and I am suddenly out of a job and in a sticky situation. I really need the money. My computer is older and I don't have a webcam but I would buy one with my first payment. All I have currently due to being young is a state ID but the address and state isn't current since I moved, but my parents still live at the address displayed. I have a gmail specifically for anything I don't want linked to my private life already and I have a space to work. I downloaded Tunnelbear and already have some free firewall programs. I am super nervous about getting....well, screwed over. Do you think it'll work just to get started?

Also, if we aren't supposed to use paypal, is it direct deposit? What other options are there?

Hello everybody:

I am not sure if this post is not according the rules, but I didn't find a place to introduce myself or something like that and, somehow, I felt I needed to do it, because I found this site just yesterday, and never felt so good while reading a forum before.

If this post is not correct, I beg modderators to move it to the correct forum, and I apologize in advance if this kind of post are not allowed, but I really needed to say some words to the forum in general.

I am camming now since some years ago, I started because a complicated financial situation and my first try with this, was with a scam company that stole money from the girls, luckily, I could get almost all my money, but some other girls had not that luck, that was my first contacts with this world and well, I got over it, and just managed the way to avoid those scams and do the things for myself.

I am not a big status webcammer and I started to do it to get the money I could not get with my regular job, you know, mortgage, bills... And now circumstances are not improving so, I would like to make more and better of my cam job.

The point is, I got very burnt out for the site I was camming in first instance, now I can see I was too naive for that situation, just that, I have learnt about it, but still lost many motivation about being on cam, anyway that is another different topic.

What I would want to say thank you, just thank you to you all, is about this community, I discovered you yesterday night, and I have been many hours just browsing the topics and reading, and, maybe is because I am a bit oversensitive, plus a little apathetic, you know, those things that happens sometimes, but I really feel to cry right now, just reading topics about how you help and share your experience with other people on here, about anything, food, cam advices, sites to work... I don't know what to say about but thank you!, is first time I find really helpful tips, real advices, you spend time sharing your experiences and time with other people, girls, you rock.

Thank you very much!

The best bet is to pick a site and start working. As you work you'll find questions or problems will pop up. Then you can use this forum and others to find the relevant help x
