Hi Just wanted to say thanks for having a site with all kinds of advice and info on camming.
Just started camming on MFC on Sept 1. I have to say i love it I have one questions though i set up direct deposit and i still havent received my check yet.. Is it true what they say it can take 1-4 days for it to post. I also have direct deposit for SM and it is always there at midnite on payday. Why does mfc take so long..
If anyone can let me know that would be great..
Thx Hot wife Krisitne

If they say it can take 1-4 days, wait 1-4 days before worrying about it. Don't forget to factor in that it could be "business days" as well... I don't use direct deposit on MFC so I don't know if that is the case.

Thanks for all your great info!!! I wanted to know something. I am on non nude on imlive.com. I make ok money just extra nothing as an income. I lost my job and watned to do nude to make more money. Do you make more with nude? Also I have a few regulars on imlive.com does nude and non nude work or do you have to pick one over the other? I would the option to switch but will that be bad?

I made a thread called "Going nude." a while ago, about my struggle to decide whether to remain non-nude or switch to nude. Search for it and read through that, the advice I got might help you make your decision.

Thank you so much for the useful advice! I have been researching webcam modeling for a month or two now to make sure it was something I could do. Going through all these threads is a bit of a nightmare so I stopped here after about 15 threads that didn't help my questions.
The only question I would have: are there any non-nude modeling sites that you can guest view shows? I have seen my fair share of nude shows on MFC and I'm just not interested in nude work.
I am a model and a Magician's Assistant so I need to be careful just in case the videos for some odd reason get out. I have cute feet (or so I am told), nice legs, a great butt, a fun personality, and I am already a WAM (wet and messy, food, slime, etc) model...I love a lot to work with for the non-nude camming community. I get the Private chats, I think I can fumble through that just fine, but the public camming befuddles me if you are going to be a non-nude cammer...I don't want to give away too much in the public view to the point where I don't get privates. I am hoping I can check out a handful of girls to get the gist of what others do and work on my own version.
I started with MFC for now. While it is a nude camming site I did read a lot about people on even nude sites who just want personality or fetishes, so I know I won't do that well, I just want to get comfortable with it first and many cammers suggested it as the best starter cam site.
My modeling is more my full time position, and I run a small home based business, this will inevitably be play money.
Your advice on non-nude camming would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance :D

I just don't know where to start!I'm confused-so many sites are recommended, some of my friends work camming and have told me things but contradictory! What do I need? I have a laptop with a built in cam-I can sit it on my desk and use it-is that good enough?
How does it work , do I pay a fee then they let me work? Sorry to be so naive! x Jen

^You need a scanned ID, a decent webcam (if you're running on a non-MAC laptop that is not enough to broadcast in HD but you can probably get by until you upgrade to a logitech 9000 or c910 or Orbit or a camcorder - but your earnings will suffer until you buy an external webcam... MissEgo addresses this in the original post of this thread), access to a printer/scanner, a few lamps and that is essentially it. Ideally also have a few hi-res photos of you holding your ID close to your face. Also at least one pic for your camming profile that will be public. That is the bare minimum to work across most sites.
If any site charges you to start working they are a scam. Or a shitty studio/agency. Probably both. In fact - let us know if you come across anyone who does have any upfront fees so we can warn everyone else.
To work on a site scroll to the bottom of the site's your interested in and look for "apply to be a model, become a chathost, work for us, become a host"etc and you'll find the application to get started!

Hi Ladies. I am a newbie here, but not new to the adult industry and life. I myself have done my fair share of camming. It truely does amaze me how much power women have over men. GO GIRLS!!!
One thing i would like to add is to always be yourself. I believe that some girls think that they have to be skanky, dirty and allow men to treat them like trash to make money. That is so fair from the truth. From dancing, to doing live adult webcam shows i've always been myself and prided myself on not pretending to be something i am not. I know men like to think they are Hustling us on those cam sites, but we all know who the true Hustler is *THE LADIES/MODELS*.
I am truely enjoying these Threads... They are amazing.

Question...
I've been dabbling in MFC...I've only done it twice now. But I've been calculating my earnings by taking my token # and multiplying it times .6 to calculate my cut (around 60%). But MFC just deposited 100% of the token amount into my bank account.
Has the token amount that shows up in your account already been cut, so that all that appears is your cut of the money? I was expecting much less than what showed up in my account!
MissEgo
12-05-2011, 08:54 PM
Hmm I take my token amount and multiply by .05 (1000 tokens = $50) to get my cut. 1 token = 5 cents for the model (that is your cut). Does that help?

Yep. I was just assuming that MFC hadn't taken its cut already, so I was multiplying my token # times .6, when I actually didn't need to calculate that at all. Yay!

I have two questions...
1. Is it pretty standard to offer roleplay only in exclusive on SM? I have no idea how many guys tend to come into private/group shows, it seems like it would be difficult to roleplay with more than one.
2. At what point should you say that you offer specific fetishes or do specific roleplays. I mean, there's a lot of things I'm willing to try once I've learned about them, but I don't want to mislead the guy into thinking that I'm an expert. If somebody asks "do you do ___" can I just say that I haven't done it yet but I've been wanting to?
Thanks...;)

To answer your second question, I usually say something like, "Ooh, I've never done that, but I'd love to try!" with a huge smile. Then they know you're into it, but might need a little guidance.

Hi, I am very new here. I am trying not to repeat anything that has already been discussed, I have read the forums extensively. I guess I am just hoping for some reassurance. I got laid off a few weeks ago and decided to start camming like 4 or 5 days ago. I feel like I really suck at it, even tho I have tried to incorporate all the advice I've read on here. I am almost in tears right now. I started on livejasmin, hated it, switched to mfc a couple days ago. I'm not doing great there. I was on mfc for like two hours this evening and i could not get any kind of conversation going in my room, let alone make any money. I really tried to start conversations on a variety of topics, but no one would take the bait and join in. I tried dancing around to my music, which at least got some comments. I tried hangman but no one would play, just spit out answers and then lose interest. My room is so dead, and I feel like I have been doing everything i can to make it upbeat and fun. maybe i am just unattractive? this is my dream job, working from home and being your own boss etc, but i feel like i just cant get anyone interested in me. I was really hoping to make some money to pay off my bills and buy x mas presents, but it is so disheartening. Thanks for reading my ramble. I guess I am just asking does it get better? I dont mind putting in the time and effort, but I just need to know there will be some payoff. Thanks again for letting me vent here.

Don't get online thinking about how you need to pay off your bills and buy xmas presents. Get online thinking about the people you're going to meet, or something positive. I used to just go on "just to chat" for an hour while I did something trivial, like make dinner, or whatever, and then it was like a dinner date with my regs (keep your MOUTH off cam when you shovel food in, though, otherwise... ew... ); after that hour, if your room is totally dead, say that you're going to go "take the dog for a walk" or "go grocery shopping" or something OUT and OFF CAM. Promise to be back online FOR CAMSHOWS in a couple hours "and hopefully traffic will be a little better by then! ;) " or something.
Having that time to chat gets guys to know you a little better. Makes getting regulars and shows easier. If you don't get any show requests is fine, since you're just there to chat, riiiiiight? ;) Think of it as cultivating regulars. Better for you in the long run.

I think a lot of these guys like to believe the camgirl is really into them...so I'd say it's really important to be friendly, nice, and make the guy pay special. Some men are looking for companionship, as odd as that might sound.

I've been at this for a few months now and still doing some of the things we're not supposed to! like when I get bored it shows! when I'm tired it shows, when I'm happy or horny it shows and funny thing when I'm genuinely horney that's when I make the most money but I don't stay on long enough to make the kind of money I hear other models talk about

I'm introducing myself. I'm a non nude cam girl on Imlive. I do fetish stuff. Mostly CBT and humiliation are requested. I started out doing hard core about a year ago and it lasted a week. I decided to give up but a friend of mine told me to try non nude. I thought I'd never make any money but, I do great as a fetish model. I did bondage and other fetish things with ex boyfriends and loved it. So actually having the attitude and personal experience has probably helped me a lot.
I'm just here to say to any new person who has questions about whether to do camming or not to try it, try fetish if they are not ok with nudity. Imlive is where I'm at and it seems to give me the best fetish traffic. I tried a few other sites, it wasn't as good. But they have horrible chargebacks. Right now I have 75 dollars in chargebacks for the pay period. But, I still make more money than I could working a 9-5.
When I started the thought of being recorded and put on tube sites was a fear. I just couldn't get over it. I bought a wig and wear different makeup. Being a fetish model takes that fear away so that's another option to becoming a non nude fetish model. If someone can't stand the thought of being recorded the chances of you being recorded are diminished if you aren't showing anything. And if you are recorded, nobody is going to care.
I'm still concerned with privacy every day, even though I take precautions. So, if anyone who is a fetish model or knows someone who is a fetish model, who has been recorded let me know the experience. I seem to be a minority being non nude.

Cam Mansion is a white label of VS Media/Flirt 4 Free. I'm not sure if they get as much traffic. I doubt it.

hi guys i have a question, this is my third week on myfreecams and if it weren't for a couple of regulars i wouldn't be making any money. i have set up two contests but if people don't visit my page they won't know about them. do you know about where i could self promote?

Twitter is the main place I use, especially on #FollowFriday (where people promote each other). Follow a few camgirls or people you know from this forum, you'll get a good following pretty quickly.

Never use PayPal. If you set it up incorrectly, you're giving the guys your full name. No matter how you set it up, PayPal could find out, freeze your account, seize the money, and block you from ever having a PayPal account again. Guys can also easily get refunds that you cannot dispute, or even worse - they could reveal that the transaction is adult-related. Not worth the risk.
YES. I/you cannot stress this enough. DO NOT use PayPal. Even MFC models with a ChipIn on their profiles have been penalized for it.
I logged into my CamWealth account just now and saw this announcement:
We have seen an unfortunate rash of customers contacting support about models taking paypal payments recently. Our policy with using outside payments has always been clear and as such we have upgraded our policy to ZERO TOLERANCE! If you are found to be using an outside payment system when the customer clearly came from our network your account will be terminated instantly, further more you will not be eligible for re-approval. This new policy is for YOUR protection! It protects models and customers from a bad show experience. Further more we support paypals policy of non adult transactions and will forward any valid information including paypal email to paypal for their investigation.
See that, ladies? Guys are going straight to Admin and TELLING ON YOU for accepting PayPal...SMH. Don't ever accept PayPal, no matter how "trustworthy" you think a guy is, and no matter how many times he's purchased from you.

Hi all!
I just signed up with 5pointmodels. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about them? Will I make more money with them, or with MyFreeCams, or another site?
I am new, and don't understand how all the sites work, and don't want to get scammed.
Can you all help me find the best site for me?
I will be a non nude cam model. I have a very likeable personality and wouldn't mind being a "companion" to them.
I really have NO idea on where to start, although I have read all the tips here, and I feel better now that I have done so.
Please help?! :)

Just look through many of the threads in Camming Connection (CC) and you will find what you're looking for :) There's also a search function that's very useful. There are threads at the top of CC that will explain how to use the search function as well... Good luck!
Just going to advise and newbies to ignore the above spam post from . There are numerous threads here explaining why they should be avoided like the plague. Perhaps if Money $ had taken the the time to read they wouldn't waste their time spamming this board. You'd think the IM reps would warn another to stay away from SW.

Hi Girls! I have been researching webcam modeling for MONTHS now (literally). So why havent I dont it yet? I think I keep chickening out. I do have a work at home job working for Google & Bing, but there's not always work being passed around. I find it extremely hard to concentrate working during the day while my two sons are awake (3 & 4 years old!) So I have considered webcamming very very seriously recently. Not to mention my other job isnt secure what so ever. Im scared one day I will wake up and my contract would be terminated or not renewed!
I am a naturally introverted person so shyness is one of my weaknesses when it comes to this field of work. However, I think I can be creative enough to make up some games once my clientle grows.. Im LOVING this forum. It's exactly what I was looking for, thank you ladies!!

I'm incredibly shy - like, serious anxiety in public situations - and honestly I found MyFreeCams to be the easiest camsite to work on. It has more of a "casual" atmosphere; you can log on and hang out. MyGirlFund might be another good place to start if you can get accepted there; even if you don't have a webcam you can work there and get a feel for things. More info on both sites is in the links in my signature!
Good luck!

why do you keep chickening out? I was nervous before I started, I'm new myself! I'm not really shy when it comes to my body, but I couldn't imagine anyone wanting to pay me when there were all these thin, model types available. I just started with a push up bra, lace underwear and a button down shirt and short skirt.
in less than a hour, I had a show, and at least one admirer. I made respect a big deal in my profile, and all clients have been kind and respectful. Telling me that I was a beautiful Goddess.
If the idea makes you nervous, remember that you can stop the show as you see fit if you need to. I just kept reminding myself that I was in charge, helped a lot.
after my first show I felt fine and it's been great. feel free to PM me if you want to hear about being new. :)
Good luck!
