View Full Version : Where to sell your videos

A quick question - do you sell the SAME videos to all different sites like kinkbomb, c4s, etc? If so, do you set the same prices on all places or not?
I do. All of my videos go up everywhere, and they're all priced the same. Less headache for me to sit down and think, okay, I want to make *this* much from this video, so, on ELM I'll have to charge this, and on Kinkbomb it'll be that, and ...
If you have the time to do all the math, go for it. I used to do things that way so that the customers would basically cover my site fees. Now I price my content a little more competitively, and I've noticed a huge increase in my traffic and sales.
As for uploading the same videos everywhere, you never know if a guy on ELM has a balloon fetish; sure that clip will sell a million times over on c4s, and probably quite a bit on kinkbomb, but maybe it'll be popular on other "less fetishy" sites too. Might as well have it up just in case.
I'd rather err on the side of having lots of different videos on each site profile, instead of being overlooked for not having specific content displayed.

Alright I understand where you are coming from. :) I will try some videos to everywhere, some extreme fetish to stay on fetish sites. I think I just got approved in an email! Need to check more into it. haha

If you're starting on a new site, just spend some time wandering around checking out the top few girls. See what sells or what's popular, to give you some ideas for new clips.
Then upload those clips aaaaall over the internet on all your different clips sites. ;)

I just plan on doing my own marketing and giving guys one time download links through Cam Redeem.
I resent the idea of anyone making a cut off MY hard work and image. I'm the one who get the social stigma from doing this work, why should I get anything less than 80%+?
Am I wrong?

Though you're definitely not wrong, it's kind of a trade off. I sell videos through bigger sites for the same reason people work bigger cam sites; they provide a fuckload of traffic, hosting space, etc. That's not to say I don't sell fetish videos offsite, or that I don't do my own marketing, because I do both, but if I had to give up that huge chunk of traffic from the 3-5 sites I post videos to (especially the 2 that net the most money), I wouldn't be a very happy camper. Everyone's different though, so if you're kick ass at promo, I don't see why not. I just find it easier all around to build my customer base this way.

Here are the site mentioned sorted by highest revenue percentage to lowest:
Niteflirt - 70%
kinkbomb - 60% - 75%
eclipstore - 60% - 72%

Clips - 40% or 25%
FetishClips - 40% or 25%
Xtube - 40%
webcams - 37%
Adultwork - ??
Here are the same sites sorted in order of most to least by unique visitors in April 2011 (from compete.com):
Xtube - 2,448,129
Rude - 1,469,941
webcams - 1,214,670
hotmovies - 547,489
Clips4sale - 428,768

Niteflirt - 74,759
Playpen - 53,168
Adultwork - 23,275
yoogirls - 19,660
kinkbomb - 17,857
FetishClips - 15,374
eclipstore - 2,584
Clippette - 2,505
For people who want to see all this side by side, here's a table with all the info:
http://elmaveshow.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/video-sale-websites-table.jpg
Other notes:
fetishclips.com, clips.com, and hotmovies.com are all part of the same network (so contract is the same)...(I'll call them the hotmovies network)
As isobel mentioned for the hotmovies network sites if you have them manage your clips (they write descriptions, set prices, etc...) that's when they take 25% or if you upload via ftp and write descriptions you get 40%
Adultwork revenue percentage is hard to pin down (they don't make it easy to find either) since currency conversion from credits to dollars and back. 1 credit is equal to 1 pound. They have a bandwidth / memory charge based on how large the file is if you aren't verified.
Yoogirls doesn't allow nudity
Let me know if you find anything that isn't right.
sorry to bump an old thread butttttt.... is this still up-to-date?? ^_^

I resent the idea of anyone making a cut off MY hard work and image. I'm the one who get the social stigma from doing this work, why should I get anything less than 80%+?
Am I wrong?
Here's the thing: the established sites are not only getting a cut for providing traffic (without which, you have no sales) but they are also charging for processing the payment - and that's where your options really become limited. You can't use PayPal or Square with adult, so there goes the easiest payment option at only 3%. Adult processing is considered "high risk" so the companies charge higher rates - on average 14.5%. In addition, there are now $500 annual fees EACH for Visa and MasterCard. So if you're selling through your own site, you have to come up with $1,000 before one sale. Then you have to pay 14.5% to process the payments. And you have to drive traffic to your site - and maintain it was well. We all know that time is money, so keep that in mind when looking at the 40% that clips4sales gets for their end of the deal.
I looked at CamRedeem - it's in Beta right now and says it's free - but nowhere does it say what their cut is. And I'm sure it won't be free forever. Plus, I couldn't sign up as a customer. So if there are no customers, you're not going to make any sales - unless I'm missing some part of the equation.
I've spent the past year looking at every way possible way to sell Adult digital downloads. Some people do use PayPal - I looked at using DropBox and ContentShelf.com for the downloads, but Adult is against their Terms of Service. That's a game I don't want to play because I intend to be in the business long-term.
I have my own site as well as clips4sale. I started with ccbill, but they really aren't meant for a small producer. I switched over to Surfnetcorp.com. First, they are adult friendly. Next, they have different options which are great for someone starting out, because there's no payment up front. The split is 65/35, a little better than clips4sale, but you have to drive all your own traffic - and that takes time, effort and know-how. What's good about them is as your volume of sales goes up, they will give you up to 85% of sales - I don't know at what level, but I'm nowhere near that. When your business takes off, you can switch to a monthly plan that starts at $99.00 a month (even though it says $29.99 on their website), depending on volume and bandwith. And when you make it really big, they will help you get your own Merchant Account. So it seems like a good company to grow with. And it was very easy to integrate their processing gateway into my WordPress site.
But I've made the huge majority of my sales through clips4sale - even though I've spent hours and hours setting up blogs and using social media and SEO techniques to drive traffic to my own site. And last week I got an email from a Brazilian customer who said his MasterCard wouldn't go through on my site - I sent him to clips4sale and the next morning woke up to see he bought six compilation videos - my cut was $100! Now different credit card processors "scrub" cards differently - which is why it's good to have a couple of options. Bigger producers use multiple processors - this is called "cascading billing" where if one processor rejects a card, it defaults to the next and the next - in a couple of seconds so the customer doesn't know it. But using three processors would cost you $3,000 upfront in Visa and MasterCard fees and they still get 14.5% AND THEY GIVE YOU NO TRAFFIC.
To sum up, I'm with you - I want to keep as much of the pie as possible. But nobody provides services for free. It's up to you to figure out how much time you're willing to put in to drive traffic as opposed to using sites that have traffic. It's a process that's ongoing and I'm still figuring it out.
Good luck!

http://pornsync.com/amateur/?affid=137220210836983
Pornsync is a new company, meet with them at xbiz show in Miami. Love their concept.
You upload your video or clips in original format & they do all the converting into different formats for you.
They generate a code you can put up on tumblr & such yourself. ex:
<iframe class="embedPlayer" src="http://api.pornsync.com/embed/player/Z4Jexqo9qc/?affid=137220210836983" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="494" scrolling="no" width="400"></iframe>
They put trailers up on all the tubesites to get you traffic & sales. YOu can opt out for that function.
Payout is 75% for amateurs & 50% for studios.
It is a one-click purchase for the buyers no matter where the trailer is put up. (THIS I LOVE)
You set your prices.
It is a new company. I think it is the wave of the future for tube sites to go legit.
Smooches,
Sam

In a nutshell we give you the tools to sell you product and make it as easy as possible. Once your clip is uploaded it is converted (plays on any device) then you will be able to take your unique embed code and place it any where you are able to embed a video. Example blogs, tumblr, and tubes and so on. You set the price and what you want the customer to see in your preview. Then everyone will be able to view the preview if they want it they one click purchase it. They will never leave where they are the preview will refresh and they now have you full clip and you made the sale.
If anyone has any questions about PornSync or how it works please feel free to contact me.

I want to bump this and see where u girls are selling. I have my process of uploading down and am pretty efficient so I want to be on as many sites as possible even on the off chance I get a sale here or there on the slower sites since every dollar is great. I have a fast upload speed so I just open every site and upload all at once so it takes very little time to add one more.
So far I have
- clips4sale 65%
- clipvia 70%
- yoogirls
- youkandy
- mgf
- eclipstore
- niteflirt
- elm
I have pending with customs4u and iwantclips but somehow I messed my application with both up and have to resubmit
Are there any reliable paying sites I'm missing. I want to make a master list and update this thread for reference :)

Try ManyVids. If you don't mind using my affiliate link it's below :) there is also customs4u. Other than that I use c4s and mgf.
Question for you ladies with multiple clip stores, do you use the same name on all of them? x

I use the same name of everything but MGF and that's because they wouldn't let me! lol I don't really like manyvids. I sell the same things on C4S and sell 10X more. I think you need a huge twitter following for MV to work for you.

I created na account at Manyvids, i uploaded 9 clips, fetish mostly, and 25 store items. I did not sell anything in a few days. I'm a bbw and i don't show my face, no full nudity, no penetration.
I have been active, uploading images and vídeos every day, hearting girls, only a few of them heart back.
It's hard to believe i will send enough to withdraw 100 usd from there, because i notice that guys don't even look at the previews of the vídeos. I have been looking at the profile of other girls and in many cases i see the same scenario, and girls that show their face, younger and with several types of vídeos...
I never expected to sell much but i wasn't expecting that people don't even look at previews...

From what I have seen from ManyVids it's mostly MFC top models that sell the most videos there. When I first signed up there were only 400 models there and it wasn't mostly MFC models, it was a pretty big variety of chicks from all over the place. I think they are bringing in traffic from MFC, maybe advertising their MV profiles while they are on cam?
It always seems to be the same models selling content, I think part of that is because they make the top sellers from the previous day appear right at the top, so people see them first and buy from them. It's a little frustrating, but if you can advertise a bit and really try to drive your fans there you might do a bit better. I update every single day and haven't hit a pay out recently. People seem to buy the cheapest of my videos, which is pretty frustrating. :\

OK scratch everything I've said about MV - i deleted my signature as well. For a month now I have worked non stop on my store there. I've promoted it like crazy and managed to get into the top 100, but you know what? I've made more money off other girls joining up with my link than I have on actual clip sales. So forget it! Not uploading anything to there any more as like you said above, it's just mfc girls selling off their recorded public shows :(

Ok I've updated my vanilla c4s store every day this week and nada! Guys just refuse to buy my non fetish stuff :( weirdly though they buy it on MGF. Does anyone else have to specifically set aside time to make videos like me? Or do you just record your camshows? Really sucks to spend time making videos then not selling. I much prefer fetish but vanilla has a way wider market and I so wish I could crack it.

Dommes and other people into the fetish scene:
You can get lots of sales on kinkbomb.com if you are a domme or a submissive. Findom is pretty popular as well as taboo fantasies :)

I’d like to start selling clips. I’d like to sell them on Clips4sale, Adultwork, Manyvids and Extra Lunch Money. My question is do the videos have to be exclusive to each website or am I able to upload the same clips to all four? I know Adultwork are strict about images being exclusive to their website, but I’m unsure if they want the videos uploaded there to be exclusive also and I can’t find anything on it in their terms and conditions? Thanks loves x

C4S, ManyVids, and ELM you can upload any videos to any of the sites without limit. They don't care as long as YOU have permission to upload the videos (i.e. they are of you or a model that will let you sell them)

IndieBill
06-19-2016, 09:41 AM
Hello everyone,
I wanted to let you know that we've built IndieBill (http://go.getindiebill.com) specifically for indie cam models & adult performers. IndieBill allows you to easily accept credit card payments internationally.
We payout 85%, protect you from chargebacks and automatically deliver sold contents to your customers (up to 15 GB per file). It makes IndieBill a very good and easy way to sell videos to your own audience - and you may as well use us to sell Skype shows etc.
There's no setup cost, you don't need to be incorporated and you can start processing payments within 24 hours. However, we do charge a $0,95 service fee to customers per transaction (not per content). So, for example, if a customer pays $30 via IndieBill you would earn $24,7 (29,05 * 85%) instead of $18 with C4S.
Additionally we're building websites for free for the models working with us so that it is easier to develop the indie side of your business. You can see a store we've built for a model here (http://www.supercamsstudio.com/#!store/yyp96) and get all info in the dedicated SW thread (https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?210552-Your-website-for-free-with-IndieBill-Earn-85-per-sale).
We do not provide traffic however, we're 'only' a payment processing tool.
Please let me know if you have any questions, it would be my pleasure to help out.
Missjayne77
06-19-2016, 04:09 PM
Can you incorporate it into our own websites?
IndieBill
06-20-2016, 04:04 AM
Hi MissJayne,
Yes totally, here is an example of IndieBill powering a store for a model: http://www.supercamsstudio.com/#!store/yyp96. We only built the store (the model made the site using Wix) and gave the model some code to copy paste.
It's very easy to insert IndieBill in any website, and of course you can keep using other payment methods as well.
