being on stripperweb does NOT mean your not banking.....lol

it means if you stay on it for long you will adapt to other peoples opinions and loose money....

I remember when I first signed up for this site, how well I was doing. It wasnt until I tried to change BECAUSE of stripper web, shit slowed down.

I just had to say that.

Thats an insulting comment.

I also work while im on here. anytime im logged on to my PC im actively working.....

It's called multi-tasking hehe. I'm almost always online, and can still do well on cam and have time to do 50 other things online too.

I'm glad I found SW, I was getting bored with the same old stuff online.. although this is keeping me up later than usual :D

I swear, sometimes y'all newbies will get on a question asking kick, and I will want to say, "GET YOUR ASS ON CAM", because seriously- it's trial and error.

You filled out some dumb shit in your profile? You'll find out soon enough and change it.

You scared off that huge whale because you didn't know that guys like to present their embarassing fetishes in stupid ways, like, "This girl once farted on cam during an anal show, it was awful", and you're like, "That does sound awful!" instead of, "Kinky ;)". You learn.

You're on cam, looking like an idiot and no one buys a show - you know you're doing something wrong because your income is terrible, so you change it.

First you marketed yourself as something that isn't in the slightest bit of demand (childless cougar, you look 13 but you tell everyone your true age of 32)? Change your name and start over.

Seriously, no one gets on cam knowing everything-there-is-to-know-about-cam, so you serial questioners, (I secretly think you are know-it-alls outside of your element), it's not going to work for you unless you dive in, feet first.

Yes! The best thing a mentor or anyone else can ever do for you is get you on cam. Anything else that anybody tells you honestly doesn't even matter. You will really have to give it some time, find your boundaries and interests, and adapt, adapt, adapt as you go along. The same thing that makes one girl $100/hr can clear another chick's room in 60 seconds. But no matter what you PLAN to do, THINK about, DREAM of or IMAGINE... none of it will come to fruition unless you "get your ass on cam"! Love ppg for that quote.

Adreama: I am not experienced, so I couldn't help, but I would if I could. I wish you good luck with whatever you decide.

Random: Good to know that the cut throat atmosphere exists everywhere!}:D

I learned everything I needed to learn about camming in my two years I have been live. I have went through these up and downs and hardships and becoming how I am now (banking etc...) by doing my own research and trial and error. Why should any of us give the tips of the trade to someone who obviously can not even do their own research. That is just lazy as hell.

You say "lazy," I say "honest." I don't know. I don't think there's anything wrong with the OP asking for help. Actually, I think it takes a lot of guts to ask for help.

For every 5 interesting posts on here, there's always someone who asks a dumbass question that's been answered a gajillion times before. Like, a really simple question, that could be answered really simply, with a really simple search. At least the OP has been doing her reading.

Not everyone learns the same way. I'm pretty hands-on, and I don't like having people looking over my shoulders. But mentorship really works for some people, and that's why it's really, inspiringly common in every professional field. If we want sex work to be taken seriously as, well, work, we'd do well to abide by some of the conventions of the professional world.

I'm still signed up on GameCrush too, though I don't really log in anymore because it's been a waste of time for me.....and I believe they actually lowered the pay rates a bit too?

Lol i didnt say i told him
I would never disclose my information.

He was a Stalker. He found me , He remembered i told him i liked chillis on the weekend , then he showed up Friday and Saturday looking for me in my town.

This shit is creepy!

And BuffyFlame is right. A guy who is that crazy about you can get info on you without you ever mentioning your real name/town/phone number. All they really have to do is spend enough time in your chatroom and pay close attention to details. And Google can be more powerful than you think.....

I don't think I have any stalkers, but it creeped me out one day when a MFC guy (I didn't even know this guy or what his MFC name was) e-mailed me and kindly told me to please be careful, because he Googled my screen name and found a bunch of stuff I had posted on different websites. He said that by doing that, he learned that I love Justin Timberlake, etc.

I think you especially have to be careful with MFC, because you have several guys in your room watching and listening. And if someone you know (friend or family member) happens to enter your room as a guest, if you're letting guests talk, they may slip up and accidentally say something like "Holy shit! Olivia Benson...is that you?!" :P I think a model on here (or maybe the AC forum?) said one of her friends came to her room and accidentally did that.

*Olivia Benson is a character on Law and Order SVU. It's not a REAL person.* :P

This. :)

And at least this isn't a thread asking "OMG, can I REALLY get recorded on MyFreeCams?" :P

anyway, to the OP, I'm in the process of editing a guide for new camgirls and may be collaborating with MissEgo on it as mentioned in her "Starting Place for New Camgirls" thread, so I'll be sure to let you know when I'm done and send you a copy :) Then you can read it and let me know if you have any questions and I'll try to help as best I can!

I'm all moved in to my new place and FINALLY have internet again (it's crazy how much I missed it...) so I should definitely edit my how-to soon and we can collaborate!!

If somebody really needs a "mentor" THAT bad, I suggest they search and sign up for one of the more *real* studios of trusted camgirls, that probably actually help girls. I may have this wrong, but don't ladies like MissEgo and I believe AngelCummings (sorry if I'm wrong ladies) say they run studios where they actually help their girls? I think it's only fair if you need your hand held that you compensate whoever is helping. A percentage of earnings, in this case, is totally fair although I don't advocate studios for any other reason. Theoretically this is what they are for!

Yes :) I do run one! PM me if interested, I'm all for mutually beneficial hand-holding.

im not sure if this has been said yet but this is my 2 cents:

everyone hustles differently, so even if you want a mentor, what they do may not work for you. you have to find your own ground. I had someone help me when I first started but their style was not the same as mine, so i started out trying to work it like she did and i didnt do well. once i became myself and used my own hustle i started doing quite well.
