^^ Yes , Very true! And very legit. But in the bible (If Christianity is your religion of choice like me.) Does it say that you can not advertise sex?
It objectifies women in many ways , (Such as the quote above , where it says if your {Girlfriend} isnt a virgin at marriage , She should {Shall} be killed.

If you where to walk into a church , and tell your religious community what you do, You would be shunned. (If you have no intentions on changing in the near future.)
Thats all i was trying to say from my point. I claimed Christianity , But i do not pretend for even a second god is proud of me in any way.

I think it should be deleted.
I think this might just be too touchy for some people.
Rightfully so, Its a very delicate subject.

You said yourself!!! Religions/Politics are two touchy subjects where debates and discussion can go on forever. Everyone perspectives on religion is different. Not everyone believes in the same God or interpret the Bible the same for that matter.

I was brought up in a Christian home not really religious but we prayed and believed. Now that I'm older I still do believe in God but lately I've just be questioning everything. I actually want to learn more about Buddhist practices. Not to mention that I love science and it conflicts with religion most of the time. I feel bad for questioning "my faith" but my inquiring mind wants to know. :/

My personal experience is that Christians rarely understand the sexual freedom that God gives us. Too often Christians have been brought up being taught lies about the bible rather than to open it up and study it themselves and see it as a sex positive collection of books. It is only through my faith as a Christian that I found the freedom to be in the adult entertainment world.

^^ Ohh yea , Scientology has always been a passion of mine! It conflicts with my Christianity , Once i was told by a preacher if i was to fallow my passion with Scientology , I would go to hell.
Just FALLOW it.
That was when i first started seeing how brutal religion was.
How much you HAVE to fallow the rules.

i like what you said, that is a good thing. you are questioning what you have been taught for most of your life to believe a certain way, and now that you have grown up your starting to think for yourself and gain knowledge instead of being told what to believe. your not content being spoon fed information but rather seeking and finding out for yourself. it takes a lot of courage to do and in the end it is very freeing for the spirit.

Follow what you believe in, and make choices for your self. We only have 1 life, I refuse to care what a "religion" thinks.

I am spiritual, not religious, if one must know. I grew up as a christian, but then again like most of us, not by choice. As we get older we CHOOSE what we want to do.

Society has taught us not to question the bible/Quran /etc .... BUT WHY NOT?!

Really think about it... do you want to live a life that you cant question?

I believe in HIM. But its also 2011 . IF we all followed the bible to the T, im sure life would not be worth living, because what would be the point of it all? Millions of people following one man? Sounds like a cult to me..... im just saying though....

Christianity always felt like a cult to me actually......

^^ I felt the SAME way!!
My parents are "Christian" But they where bikers
haha (In the 70's) so they always raised me with the power to choose
what i wanted to believe.
My mom cherry picks the Bible and thinks than she can be a Christian and still believe gays are going to heaven. Sure she can think that m But everything in Christianity preaches AGAINST it.
True we all make mistakes, but is what we are doing now a mistake?
Its carefully thought through. We know we are going to do it again the next night. If we ask forgiveness at night , do you think we mean it?

Religions are DEPENDING on a doomsday in 2012.
They are setting up mass suicides (They call them sacrifices) the day before.
The average person would look at them with a crazy eye , But to them , Thats there faith,
they have FAITH that there "leader" for lack of a better word will return and take them all
on this day! And leave all the rest.
Thats the definitional of die hard faith.

I'll preface this by saying I'm agnostic, again...

I think there's a HUGE difference between being a something and being a practicing something.
I also think there's a huge difference between being an orthodox something and a new age something.

And I think all options are TOTALLY valid! All of the "One God" religions have different sects (like Christianity including everything from Catholicism to Mormonism) We all interpret the religious books differently, decide which books to include..

There are plenty of Christians who believe EXCLUSIVELY in the new testament! Now if anyone loved sex work it was the man Jesus.

So.. I guess it depends on what I choose, right? I'm only failing as a [insert religion here] if the actual sect I've chosen to believe in thinks it is. Which it doesn't. 'Cause I'm damn sure not going to pick the misogynistic hateful parts and enjoy them. I'm gonna pick the one that I know in my one true heart is GOOD and real.

'cause that's how we get to heaven, right?

If I did have faith, I would have faith in a god that held ideals I held.

But I don't! Muahahahhaha.

Now, as an agnostic I have a lot of god fantasies .. and my favorite is god as INFINITE. Which means god is caring and uncaring, conscious and unconscious, good and evil, yin and yang, consortium of opposites and everything in between. Damn, he's a good god. Guess what, as an infinite force he doesn't give a flying fuck what I do in my spare time.

Favorite god ever.

I love this. I've been using the name Ampersand for god/life force/energy/whatever because I think of all the possibilities as &, &, &, &, and etc....

^^

THAT was a great read. And exactly the kind of thing I like to challenge my own faith with, if "challenge" is really the right word. Maybe "test" is more appropriate, I don't know. The Bible has a gazillion more passages that don't make sense to me, that seem to have left something missing or that seem to contradict. It's fascinating, and I know there are some things that I've got wrong, but I also know that I'm on the right track. Questioning what I believe directly is healthy, and God being God, has no problem with a questioning mind. What's true will stand up to inspection and prodding and my understanding of what's what and what I believe becomes stronger because I question it and am open to more than just what I'm told by self proclaimed religious leaders or everything I read. What's true can stand up to it. What's not, cant.

Seriously, thank you for posting the article. The "other people" are something that I've researched before. There's also the other "other people", spoken of in the new testament but that's even farther away from the original topic, so I'll shush about it. But thanks again from one Christian who's faith isn't blind.

This is turning out to be a really cool thread. Much respect to everyone, no matter what your spiritual practice is. Melting pots are more interesting anyways.

I'm an atheist. I have one rule that I live by "Be a kind person; do not hurt anyone." I'm not hurting anyone by being a camgirl, in fact I'm helping my family by being a camgirl (I just paid for my sister to get dental work she wouldn't have otherwise been able to afford, I let her live with me for free while she pays off her student loans, and I support my mother financially.)

If theres a creator who has a problem with me hes a complete douche bag and I want absolutely nothing to do with him.

First thought that came to mind was, "not even the Son knows"

Googled it.

Came up with Matthew 24:36 and Mark 13:32, and also this http://hardingstreet.com/node/98 btw, not a member and never heard of them. But it's pretty much what rings true to me too as a response to May 21

Perhaps it will not be the end of the world... But the end of the world's belief in the Desert God as dominant deity. Lack of belief is the biggest danger to any god, and I can't imagine a mass unfollowing would be any less terrible of an outcome for them.

Assuming we know for certain the timing of the gods, you'd have to remember that calendars have changed a lot since. We could either be behind or ahead, depending on the calendar used in the region. The Hebrew calendar alone has a lot of flex-room

I don't believe in sin. It was human made. God has no judgement what so ever. He looks at and loves all of us the same unconditionally . No one will ever understand him or be able to interprets him since our minds can only rationalize so much but not on God's level.
