Personally, my weight is always fluctuating all over the place. I'm 5'1 & my weight can go anywhere from 120 to 135. My jean size goes down to a 3 all the way up to a 9 or slightly larger sometimes. But I've always been told that I carry my weight well.

brandi- i danced with you at the admiral several years ago in my very first month of dancing and i was extremely skinny at the time (unlike the entire rest of my life) and i just want to tell you that your figure and how you carry yourself really changed my idea of how terribly i felt about my own thick history. i'm thick again now, and seeing this pic of you sets my self-confidence spark ablaze!!! thanks for sharing!!

LOL! My booty went down a bit too since I dropped the 20+ lbs, I'm so pissed.
My waist and belly only got smaller by a little bit. I'm here stuffing down oatmeal, spinach, green beans, salads- all stuff I hate and almost everything ELSE got smaller than what I wanted to. Of course I just ate a chocolate chip cookie and it's midnight- so that didn't help the cause. ::) Just so hard to cut out these carbs.
Luxi- the bikini tops sold in the stores won't hold you up the way you need to be. They are usually mass produced in China or wherever. The better outfits are custom made & tailored.
I had that problem of my booty and boobs deflating because I had cut nearly all the animal fat out of my diet. I added in coconut milk and a modest amount of beef and pork and it re-filled me. I still keep the carbs in check and have veggies instead of bread and rice and all that. At first I went off the wagon because my bf at the time fed me steak and Portuguese and Italian dishes with sausage and other fatty meats so often. My cup size went up TWO sizes. He LOVED that! ;D But then I moderated it more.

Weight is nothing but a number. People don't believe I weigh 135 but I do. Don't let the silly number define anything about you, I never get on a scale except for doc appts or out of curiosity while at the gym. The only thing that should matter IMO is that you like what you see in the mirror.

I'm 5'1, about 130-135 lbs, 36 f boobs (all natural baby! ;D), and I have a bit of a lil belly that I'm trying to get rid of, and l've been feeling really down lately cuz almost all the girls I work with are tiny. I work in Colorado, which makes things even harder cuz they like'em small here. When I first started things were great, but now it's getting harder and harder for me to make money. I don't know if that's due to the recession or what, but it's really been affecting my confidence :( I used to weigh 110 before I had my son, and it's hard accepting that my now size 7 hips may never again fit in size 3 jeans. But it's comforting to know that I'm not the only dancer that's not pin thin, and that thicker girls are making good money too. I was wondering, what states/clubs have you vuluptuous vixens found to be the best for curvy dancers?

These Latina women, in my opinion, have perfect bodies. I know that many clubs here in the States will find them fat.

Umm...you look great. Just great not too thin or thick. This is coming from a "skelator girl".
(34D is modest?? Try being a 32B;D)
Sorry, my bad; didn't mean to sound arrogant :-[. The thing is that at 5'8" they don't look THAT big.
But thanks for the compliment!!
All women in here look just so darn beautiful; no flaws detected. (stretch marks or cellulite are not big flaws, since they can be concealed, unlike love handles)

i'm a curvy/ thick too i will say that sometimes being that i'm the only thick girl in my club, i'm hard on myself. i'm 5'10 180 and even though i've lost alot of weight i'm not tone completely. i'm not hella flabby eww (no offense) but booty dimples i've got hehe. honestly i'm like watever. i'm also the one of two ethnic girls. the other girl is like 5'5 skinny type of black girl. in a black club i'd be probably to skinny to work or i'd borderline make it. my biggest problem being that i'm still sorta a new dancer is understanding my body type. has anyone else noticed that we can't wear the same type of stuff that the other girls can?

I LOVE my curves! The club where I work has two thin girls. One, bless her heart, I want to take to Burger King and stuff her with Whoppers and milkshakes, you can she her spine and her ribs. The other girl is thin, but she has some curves.
The rest of us have curves and the guys who come in LOVE us! One guy, upon seeing the bony girl, asked if she had a lot of fans. I said I didn't know. He shook his head and asked me if I had dogs. I said yes, but was curious and asked why he asked that. This is what he told me:
Him "You ever give your dogs bones?"
Me "Of course"
Him "What do they do with those bones?"
Me "Hide them in the backyard"
Him "Now, if you give your dogs bones with meat on them, what do they do?"
Me "Lay down and tear them up."
Him "Even a dog knows meat is better than bone."
OMG! I LOL'd for the rest of the night!

i like this thread as well. i swear sometimes being in hawaii with asians drives me crazy. they try to intimidate you because your different. i can't say all but far more then not will do that. espcially because they run the clubs and hostess bars here its like ugh everyone in the world isn't going to be a size 2 5'0 little girl. i do believe that if we as curvy women work on our bodies we have the potential to be top earners. we already got the booty and boobs to start with which is a advantage of other body types, hell other girls in the clubs period. its just confidence and self discipline.

one more thing i must add. i know that everyone is entitled to there preferences, but i look at men strange sometimes examples of this:
1. super tall men who will only date girls who are like 5'4 and below. i think something is wrong with him like why does he want a woman so much smaller than him? (makes you really stop an think if you put some thought into it) all of my friends who are really sort and have super tall bf's dudes are abusive as fuk not only to them but as their kids.
2. men who talk about how much they love women but only are attracted women who are boy bodied. S T R A N G E... i don't care what anyone says. if a man doesn't like 1 of 3, if not all of the 3 tits, ass, or thighs he has a problem and he I S NOT S T R A I G H T. what because he's tryna stick his dick n a hole no please men have a hole to. if he doesn't appreciate anything that a woman's body has to offer besides a hole he's gay. i really look at guys who talk to me i look at what their ex's or the type of women they usually date. yes people can change their mind on things but you can't change what your attracted to. so thas how i gauge if he's tryna be real with me or just trying something to say he did it type of shit.
^^ curvy women gotta pay real close attention to the last part.
3. extremely good looking men dating or even hanging around with women who are no way on they're level. i'm not being superficial but i have to real. i wonder things like ok... yes beauty is in the eye of the be holder but u can just tell if you just observe body languages. i start to question his character like ok.. is he not confident thas why he is settling? (now i'm not talking about minor lil shit i mean he looks like a model an she looks like a whale type shit or skeletor) a man who has confidence issues is going to be trouble shortly down the line. or what is he lacking? is she a sugar momma. i need a man to be a man be willing to go out in to world an find a way to stand up on his own two feet. he doesn't have to be rich but he's can take care of himself. doing for a man is not a good thing men are hunters an once they stop hunting or things are given to them they no longer feel like men they become bitch-assty.
^^ sorry a little off topic but i had to. now back to curvy viewing.

I'm completely Spanish (I was born in PR, but all my ancestors are from the old country; you can see how I look on page 1, where i posted two pics), and well, it's their problem. I think that southern guys seem to prefer curves as well regardless of their color...
I know that the women from the video will be consider fat in at least five clubs in this area.

. has anyone else noticed that we can't wear the same type of stuff that the other girls can?
-It depends. If I go to a club that requires full bottoms, I have to wear a standard boyshort because the buttcheeks will "eat" most of the fabric. If I go with standard microshorts, they will look like thongs (and not all clubs in this area allow thongs).
-I can wear long dresses, but triangle tops look terrible on me because they're always rising up.
-Horizontal stripes make me look chunky; I'm basically limited to monochromatic outfits and/or solid color pieces.
-If I wear eight inches heels, I tend to hit myself with the roof in some clubs, so I just use them in clubs where the ceiling is high enough.

I doubt that. It may be different where you are, but even in the south which is stereotypically more accepting to dancers with more meat on their body, standards are changing. When I first started a few years back, I can think of a few clubs that would hire almost everyone who came through the door.
These same clubs today have raised standards quite a bit. Now they make you get dressed and do an inspection for guts that are too big or too many stretch marks and cellulite. It got to a point that I had to tell some friends I wasn't sure if they could get hired at the popular clubs. The hole in the wall clubs will always welcome everyone.
Not every dancer at a black club is thick. There are very skinny girls also. They may have a harder time unless they are fashion magazine pretty. Atlanta's best clubs are full of women who can wear a size 6. Not too thin, yet not necessarily thick either. The difference is they have more ass/thighs than dancers at say a white club in the same area. Breasts are hit/miss ;D- that's a toss up. ATL/Miami have more implanted WOC dancers than I have seen anywhere on the east coast.
Now that thinner dancers can have the same bubble booty you usually see only thick chicks blessed with, they have changed things up a bit. Guys will usually always run to a stage for a fat ass, whether the dancer is a size 4 or 14. That's what helps to make black clubs so diverse. Not to mention the managers love when spanish, white, asian dancers come in. They are embraced with open arms. Too bad it is not so at all white clubs for dancers of color.

I am from NY, born and raised and men up there like curves too (even the uptight wallstreet ones do...but in the closet). All the Hispanic and black men at home, who have money LOVE women with meat on them. I don't know about any other Northeast state, I just know my city and trust me, there is money to be made in NY. I'm not a stripper, but I go to enough clubs, my sister was a stripper and I know girls who do it.

It's true, with the advent and popularization of plastic surgery, being thick is more of a sin than ever. I have natural DDs but I feel like they don't give me nearly as much of a leg up in the industry as they would have had I been a dancer in the 80s or 90s before breast implants and plastic surgery went mainstream. Hell, a lot of girls from older porn have figures like mine, before, if you wanted the large breasts, often that body type comes with a little bit extra carried in the midsection too(see, christina hendricks, she has a little tummy that we all know would get knocked if she was a dancer). Seriously, if you really look at women with natural unaltered bodies, it is extremely rare to see a chick with a large rack AND perfect abdomen. I'm not saying it doesn't happen (I guess Kim K would be a good example) but it's rare, and now that women can just go out and buy boobs (don't have ANYTHING against it, just saying), women with naturally larger breasts are pushed to the side...natural boobs also are seen now to have an "inferior" shape to fake ones. So frustrating!!! I know that you can do the opposite if you are curvy and have lipo done but that procedure seems like so much of a gamble as to whether it will work or not and it's hella expensive...not to mention...what ever happened to the beauty of natural curves? I'm not talking blubber, but like ancient greek and roman statue style women like venus de milo, and women like this: http://wordsandpicturesonline.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/titian1.jpg
i think her body is pretty average, if she were a girl on this forum we'd probably all warn her to tone up a little before starting but there's a femininity about this kind of slightly bigger woman that I think guys are attracted to. The standard for curvy has gone from a naturally curvy bodyshape to somethat that almost always has to be synthetically produced and therefore is not realistic to aim to achieve without surgery...therefore we have so many women thinking surgery is neccessary for them to have an attractive body. Our society has become so obsessed with perfection in the last 10 years, it's crazy, though I think the trend is finally starting to turn around because enough people are speaking out against it.

Well, one of those type of guys down here in Richmond, VA approached to me one night and told me "wow, you're such a cute Spanish girl, you guys are so rare in here, please, dance for me". I danced for him for only ten minutes 'cause I had to go on stage, but he tipped me well ;D He looked all uptight and serious until I danced for him, hahahahaha.
In Richmond the most popular dancers are the typical barbie doll type and because of that, is kinda of a hit or miss for me; but still, even with a "miss", the money is better than in Virgina Beach.

Ahaha--I have never understood this either!! I have some pretty unusual measurements and have the overall body type of a boy. I honestly would think guys would make fun of me/hate my body because I literally have no curves--but they dig it! What is really scary is that some of the aspects of my body that are the most boyish (huge back muscles for example) are what guys compliment on the most.

Personality, intelligence, common interest... any of those factor in along side these big important "3" things (tits, ass, thighs)? What about a pretty face?
Is it really that radically that a man could enjoy a body type other than what you deem as acceptable?
What problem does a man have if he's not into your acceptable body type?
Also, men who fuck men are gay. That's who's gay. Men fucking men.
I wish this thread was more of a positive thing for thicker dancers rather than what half of it is: a dump on smaller/thinner girls.

um yeah, x 1000. Just beacuse its a thick dancer support thread doesn't mean it should turn into a "let's bash everyone that doesn't share our body type thread" like come on, thicker dancers get bashed by thin girls all the time. we should know better. Plus thin women are hot too, don't argue it! Nina Dobrev ftw!!!! women just need to be more body positive in general: the fact is the great majority of the women on this board make a pretty sick living off of their appearace as dancers, therefore I assume most of the women on this board are very attractive. The industry makes us hard on ourselves because the fact is that if you slip, even for a bit, it can mean you lose your job and your income, but sometimes you just gotta chiiiiiilllllll ladies, cause I'm sure you're ALL foxy :)

You're right!
I got over the whole beef I had against "waif" (sorry for the word) dancers a while ago, especially since I realized I had lots of friends (both strippers and non strippers) who are just like that...and that kinda made feel like a hypocrite.

IRL, I wouldn't be considered heavy, but in the club I'm one of the bigger dancers. I'm 5'7, about 147lbs., and have a naturally curvy figure (big breasts, big hips). I like my body, and there are plenty of customers who like it too.
One thing that gets to me, though, is the guys who like to point out that I'm not as thin as some of the other girls while complimenting me. They'll say something like "I'm not really into skinny girls, that's why I like you" or "I like 'em thick and natural". Now, these guys are complimenting me, paying me, and telling me they like my body, but for some reason it feels like a jab. On one hand, I feel like I should just take the compliment as it was intended, and be glad that he likes my body type and is willing to pay me lots of money to look at it. On the other hand though, that ingrained thought process that we're all taught at a young age makes me feel insecure and insulted that he's pointing out the fact that I'm not a skinny girl.
I don't think I have low self-esteem, and I usually show off my curvy figure with confidence. I don't know why these types of remarks get to me, but sometimes they do nonetheless.
Anyone else ever feel that way?

Well, weighting 164 sure makes me part of the larger group but since I carry on my weight properly (I'm also pretty muscular) and I'm 5'8" is not that obvious that I weight that much. Never got rejected due to weight issues.
Here's me; the girls are a modest 36C/34D (depends on the bra).
I also have plenty of junk in the trunk...but is very firm!!!!!

Yes... in reverse. Skinny is not a compliment to me. Today I got "You're skinny like a white girl who doesn't eat." (which I'm not, but whatever) That's not okay. Neither is "Her ass is huge, I like a small ass like yours." Small ass? I've been working on my ass. I thought it had grown. My self esteem just plummetted. Thanks, sir.
If it was meant as a compliment, then I take it as a compliment and go on my way. I did joke with one guy about it, and from then on he started saying, "damn, that ass is fat!" every time he tipped me on stage. But, yeah, it goes both ways.

See, this is why i need to go work in America. I pretty much look exactly like Coco Austin - white and blonde with massive fake boobies, and thick with booty! But I think the American market would appreciate that more than the Aussie one!! Not that I don't bank here.
Any tips for thick girls as to wether you make good money in America? :)
PS - I once danced for this Greek guy who lovvved my curvy body. He kept saying things like 'I just want to put you in a panini and eat you all up' and 'I wish you were a foccacia' etc etc. Made me LOL!

I am almost 5'1 and I'm 140. I'm working very hard to lose weight but everyday I look in the mirror and say 'damn I'm fine'! I am very curvy but being as short as I am and having most of my weight in my butt makes it hard to consider myself as thin. Regardless I love my body. Of course I don't like a few things but I wouldn't change where my weight is distributed for anything. If we don't have confidence in ourselfs who will. I love this thread btw!

Thank you for this wonderful thread! I definitely qualify as a bigger dancer-- After years of struggling with body issues, I've finally begun to embrace my curves!
I'm pretty much the body twin of that plus sized model, Lizzie Miller (seriously exact same height, weight, proportions, etc.)

Beautiful!
and it is bizarre to me that you would qualify as a bigger dancer. I think your body is perfect.

All the dancers that have posted their pictures in here are just...well, too damn beautiful! I don't see anything wrong with anyone's body.
Too bad the media has been brainwashing people into believing that having an actual body shape is the same as being fat.

Ahhh, what the heck! I'll join in, too :) Here is a pic of me...I'm 5'10", 185 lbs. I get complimented a lot on my physique at the club, but want to lose 10 more lbs for me. I used to be 200!

Ahaha--I have never understood this either!! I have some pretty unusual measurements and have the overall body type of a boy. I honestly would think guys would make fun of me/hate my body because I literally have no curves--but they dig it! What is really scary is that some of the aspects of my body that are the most boyish (huge back muscles for example) are what guys compliment on the most.
i have a muscular back and shoulders from gymnastics and i hate them too.
i was a psych major in college and this stuff always reminds me of studies i've read lol
from a scientific viewpoint guys are made to like things about women that are feminine and are signs of a good partner (boobs, hips for bearing kids, etc)
but in general they're also made to like girls who look like they're still very young and healthy and able to have children etc. which is why the barely legal and skinny look is attractive too.
it makes sense to me if you really think about why there are so many different preferences out there.

Personally, I think everyone in here looks great and (for me) would never qualify as a "bigger dancer".
I guess if you qualify as "bigger dancers"...so do I.
