Hey there,

I stopped in there to apply for a bar tending position. It was really pretty inside, however I have no idea how well they are doing (they are really far out of town , and that neighborhood is truly gehtto scum )
Im going to bump this thread. Any new info on PDX? This info changes quite frequently ..cept for the fact that Johnny is scummy as ever.

I did the pdx thing recently. Out of the 20+ clubs I visited I chose to work at CD, well aware of the infamous lap dance to the owner. Yes, it happens… It was a good club though and I was very pleased with the payoff. If anyone is interested in info about this particular club, PM me and ask away.

I work at Casa Diablo. It is a great place to work at. I haven't danced anywhere else. You don't have to engage in the sex shows if you do not want to. You are an independent contractor. Johnny is a pretty good boss and actually very supportive and understanding. I have heard horror stories about other clubs and most of the girls stay at Casa for a reason. We get paid in 2 bills not dollar bills at the rack, the private dances are double the cost of everywhere in town. There are cameras in every private dance stall and I do know the bouncers pretty well and they do actually monitor them for you. There isn't prostitution going on. We are free to wear what we want as long as we get naked and we are free to do what we want as long as it isn't illegal and being rude to other dancers, staff, and customers. As long as you pull your weight there, keep a positive attitude, are friendly with everyone, and don't cause drama; you will do fine. That lapdance for the audition is seriously not even a big deal, if you don't want to do a 3 min long lapdance, how are you going to even make money dancing in general?

Key statement .. I have not danced anywhere else . I've danced all over the world and not once have I been required to give the owner a lap dance . It's really innapropreate.

Hi ladies, any suggestion for clubs that accept curvier girls? Some of the clubs mentioned in Portland have already closed down :(

I got hired at union jacks & rose city with no problems. Spearmint Rhino & Exxotica could also be worth a shot

Havent been there in a year but I'd say Exxotica is a little more hood than most Oregon girls expect/are used to. I only worked 2 shifts here but wouldn't personally recommend it but everybody's different and it has been a year. Body types vary WILDLY there. Having some booty would be a good thing there.

*Update: just talked to a friend who's a regular there. No money anymore, customers treating it like a night club that just happens to have strippers.

I have danced at plenty of clubs and Casa Diablo has so far been my favorite. It is true, you have to have thick skin, but the club is run well, the owner is nowhere near as much of a creep as people say he is, the bouncers are good at what they do, their security systems even better, and there is definitely money to be made there. Feel free to message me if you have any questions, especially if they pertain to the recent lawsuits. About time to lay those rumors to rest.

The following are club reviews based on my time dancing in portland during late 2013-early 2015. I'm a regular poster under a different username but want my location to be anonymous so I created this account to be separate for only club reviews.

My apologies for the novel that follows!

Spyce:
tl;dr Very high earning potential if you’re a bombshell hustler, but you have to put up with a LOT of bullshit.

No house fee, minimum tip of $10 to the DJ and $5 to each bouncer ($10-20).
Single dances are 25, the house keeps 5 and you’re required to tip the VIP a minimum of 10% of all your dances, so you end up keeping $18 from each dance. You keep $63 from 3 for 100, $180 from a half hour and $315 from an hour.
Single dances are no touching allowed. 3 for $100 allows some touching (legs, booty) and the CR allows boobs&booty touching. You can set your own boundaries if you don’t want guys touching your boobs, but it does make it easy to upsell to the CR with the benefit of more touching allowed.
There’s also a private VIP but you only make $25 extra even though it costs the guy 75 more so I never bothered upselling that, unless the guy was interested in listening to his own music (they have a separate sound system if you wanna hook up your own ipod)

This is GREAT club for newbies because
A) There are several satellite stages that you can get on whenever you want to practice pole tricks and floor work.
B) Its topless only so you can get comfortable doing the job until you move on to full nude.
C) When its good, there’s potential to bring home $100+ in stage money alone so you can still make a lil money while you work on your hustling skills.

Music is mostly rap/hip hop/r&b, pop, and dubstep remixes of stuff.
Beware that theft in the dressing room happens often. Bring a lock and lock up everything.
Most of girls are complete bombshells, its a barbie club with the best looking girls I’ve seen at any club in Portland, but they will hire most anyone, you will just find it hard to compete unless you’re hot. There's less alternative/tatted girls than other portland clubs, but if you glamor your alt look up (on point hair/makeup, nice lingerie), you can make money here still.
Lots of really great hustlers to compete with. Aggressive hustlers.
When you buy dances, you pay a VIP host who sits at the entrance to the lap dance booths. She gives you your cash, minus their cut, right after. You tip her 10% of your dances at the end of the night. If a customer pays with credit card, you sign out at the end of the night and pick up your cash 3-5 days later. You can tip out with your credit card money too.
I’ve heard seedy stories about the management, but in years of working there I never experienced anything remotely inappropriate from management personally.
You’ll be working with anywhere from 20-50 girls on the weekends. During bad spells there may be as few as 25.
Lots of dressing room drama between girls but you can stay out of it easy, just don't get involved.
There are 5 stages total on weekends, 4 on weekdays. The main stage has 2 spinning poles, all other poles are fixed. The stages are only a foot of the ground and have tiles which can be hard on the knees. Not very good lighting, especially on stage 2, the lights flash from green (Ugh!) to blue to WHITE (noo!).
Both customers and dancers do coke in the bathroom all the time, drugs are a thing here, mostly on the down low but once in a while it will get bad and girls will be openly doing coke in the dressing room, till management will fire a few girls and it will get quiet again.
Rumors about extras go around but I’m pretty sure they’re exaggerated. The most I’ve seen is girls taking off panties when its supposed to be full nude. If extras are happening, its not in the open, probably in the fully private CR room, but i kinda doubt it happens often.
Scheduling is flexible, they’ll get it on weekends for the following week, but you can call out for pretty much any reason and they don’t care, and also you can come in and work when you’re not scheduled, they like having a lot of girls.

This is an 80/20 club, meaning 20% of the girls will make 80% of the money. During a good spell, this means average earners make 2-400 and top earners make 5-1k+, with some bad days thrown in. During a bad spell, average earners make under 200 and top earners anywhere from 200-600+, with even more bad days thrown in.

This club has HUGE earning potential for Portland. Its very VIP oriented, its easy to upsell with the added touching levels. This club is in the bar district so you do get a lot of party bros and gangster types, but the trick is to find the traveling businessmen who are staying in the downtown hotels, and the bachelor parties. During a decent weekend its not uncommon for the CR to be completely full and a handful of top earners to come home with 1k or more. HOWEVER that being said, it goes through lulls where its really really bad. Right now seems to be one of those lulls. For months at a time, people treat this place like a nightclub that just happens to have strippers. Right now a crew of 10-20 drug dealers have established themselves as regulars that come in nightly and never tip or buy dances, and other customers see them being cheap and follow suite. Customers have recently started putting their measly $1 on their lap expecting you to climb on them to get it. At any given stage set I would have to hassle about half of the customers sitting at my rack to tip. Also people tend to camp out on the booths around the stage and watch for free all night while drinking. Management doesn’t seem to care and won’t institute mandatory tipping rules because they’re happy getting all the drink sales I guess, idk, its stupid and they’ve already lost half their top earners. whatever. Hopefully its all temporary and it will be back to its normal, profitable self in a few months. I would check back soon. You’ll know its good because there will be a line out the door of girls and customers waiting to get dances at the VIP entrance around 1am.

Lucky Devil
tl;dr Lower earning potential, alt girls, clean club, mostly stage money

I only danced here during mid shift, so I can’t say much. There are no champagne rooms at all, no 3 for a hundred, only single dances for $20. Stage fee is 30% of your entire income, including stage money. But its less during day and mid shifts. Because of the lack of VIP, there is pretty low earning potential. That being said, the stage money was really good and customers didn’t have to be asked or reminded to tip and they were generous.
Red lighting throughout the whole club makes you look great.
One stage in the corner, fixed pole, monkey bars in the ceiling.
Mostly alternative girls.
Cash only, no credit card dances.
Seems like drugs aren’t really a thing here. I didn’t work enough to see for sure, but it seems like extras aren’t feasible here because of visibility of the dance room.
Full nude. No touching allowed in dances. You collect your own dance money.
Girls were friendly, seems like theft isn’t a problem here which is nice, tiny dressing room but with so few girls it doesn’t matter much.
Getting on the schedule is difficult here, you have to be aggressive about texting the manager and always do it on time. You text him your available times and he actually puts a schedule together and you can’t just call off whenever you want. He only allows 3 girls to work day and mid shift and I think around 8 to work nights. I think you have to pay a fine if you call out actually, or arrange someone else to cover your shift.

Stars Bridgeport.
tl;dr Very clean club, good earning potential, solid management, not super busy though.

Full nude, but you can go topless only if you really want.
Stage fee depends on what time you arrive, anywhere from $15-35 plus 10 to bouncers and 10 to the DJ.
Three stages with static poles and ceiling bars There are grab bars located in strategic places all over which are really nice (like behind the lap dance couches for easy leverage!)
Dances are 40 each, you keep 35. 3 for 100, you keep 75. Half hour 250, you keep 200, hour is 500 you keep 400. There are only 2 champagne rooms however.
There is higher earning potential at this club due to the CR and more expensive dances, but it was never super busy when I worked there. Still, it only takes selling 10 dances a night to take home $300.
This club is upscale and very nice/clean, but in terms of the hustle, its more a dive. Regular dependent, slower hustle for sure, girl-next-door types make good money here.
It seems like drugs don’t happen here (or are on the DL if they do). management was very clear about how easily they will fire girls and zero tolerance for drugs or extras. It seems pretty impossible for extras to happen here.
Customers can buy funny money with a credit card, it costs the customers 20% in fees though. You can cash it out at end of the night.
You collect the money from dances yourself, and pay your $5/song fee to the bouncer right after.
Bouncers hangout near the VIP entrance and stroll through occasionally to make sure customers are in check.
Touching is allowed in dances, but you set your own boundaries for how much. Heavy groping is not allowed and you’re not supposed to grind on the customer for more than a few seconds.
Customers consistently tipped $2+ a song without having to be asked/reminded.
The DJs play everything from pop, indie, lots of 80s music, rock, a little hip hop.
You must keep panties on if you’re touching the customer but you can be full nude if you’re not, the lap dance couches have a chair that sits opposite the couch that you can sit on if your panties are off.
Big dressing room but when the costume lady is there, she has this giant rack that takes up the entire room, and she displays her outfits on every single locker, its annoying.
Girls are super friendly and warm up to new girls fast.
The club regularly has theme nights and will do power hours or other promos to sell dances, which actually work pretty well.
Management is AWESOME and super professional. I would work here forever and ever and ever if it was just slightly busier.
Scheduling is pretty flexible, they get your schedule on the weekend for the following week, seems like calling out occasionally isn’t a big deal.

I've been dancing around Portland for the past year. Here are the clubs I've tried and how I personally felt about each one:

(I should mention I'm over 21 so I can't speak for how the 21+ clubs are for minors)

Casa Diablo:

Pros:
-LOTS of $$ to be made here due to the many types of dances. All dances are expensive but being in a richer area many customers don't mind. If you're a great hustler or just plain lucky you could sell up to a $1000 room (no sex)
-great stage money due to $2 tip requirement
-really good food
-tip out isn't too steep
-optional to tip DJ if hes doing a crappy job
-VIP hostess helps you upsell
-highly monitored dances/safety

Cons:
-Fines for EVERYTHING. $10 if not nude by end of first song. $20 if you arrive at 9:01 instead of 9:00. $50 if you miss a shift. $100 if you wear animal fur or bring meat, dairy etc. into the club (since its a vegan club)
-the girls there are very hot and competitive. Hottest girls I've competed with or even seen at any club in Portland (mainly only night shift though)
-Johnny is a scumbag, and yes, you do have to dance for him to get hired
-If you're not at least an 8 in Johnny's eyes you will have to work crappy shifts for a long time and gradually earn night shifts. If you're a hot blonde or just extra stunning you'll get good shifts right away (he likes blondes for some reason)
-The line to pay for dances takes FOREVER. Sure, the dances may be an extra $20, but you have to wait nearly 3 songs sometimes to wait in line, pay the hostess and take your seat before starting. Which leads me to my next point...
-They take WAY too much of your $$ out of the dances! Yes they're $40, but you only keep $28. 3 for $100 you keep 70...they take 30% of everything. On top of the long wait in line and you're really only making more profit here than other clubs if you're good at selling champagne rooms
-required 2-way contact...you MUST let custies touch boobs during LDs

Spyce:

Pros:
-topless only
-downtown/constantly has customers
-great minor stage
-good stage $$
-easy to upsell due to more allowed touching the more you buy
-super nice management (at least in my experience)
-fast moving line to pay for dances
-laid back about being on time (unless you're REALLY late or it keeps happening)
-very clean and safe club

Cons:
-cramped dance area...hardly any comfort or space unless you're in VIP
-Hard to upsell 3 for 100 because it's cheaper to pay 25 per dance (there's no $40 option)
-girls are bitchier than other clubs. not all of them, but a large handful
-lots of cheapos just looking for a drink then leaving
-tip out is a tad higher than other clubs
-even if you're literally parked right outside, you MUST wait for a walk out which can take up to 25 mins on a busy night

Golden Dragon:

This club is a juice bar and is 18+

Pros:
-can work anytime you want and can leave any time you want. You can show up at midnight, sell 2 VIPs then go home at 1 AM if thats what you really want. the flexibility is great
-easy to upsell dances
-set your own VIP prices
-girls don't know how to hustle there and after the recent management shift, all their hottest dancers (and best hustlers) got fired. If youre an 8 or above you will bank here simply because youll stand out
-downtown/constant customers
-open all night until 4-6 AM...if you really need $ you can get off your shift at another club then come to dragon when bars close and double your money for the night
-GREAT club for minors. Probably one of the highest earning potential clubs if under 21
-highly monitored despite an unsafe vibe that's hard to explain
-new management is slowly making the place classier
-choose your own contact levels

Cons:
-The VIP room is a jack shack. This can make it easy to sell, but many girls arent cool with that and it grosses them out...so it may be hard to sell VIP if youre not cool with that
-many VIP sales are based on misleading the customer ("We're both allowed to get naked and both allowed to cum") is a common line used to get men back there. Some will get pissy when they realize they were fooled
-needs remodeling BADLY. The floors are very damaged and easy to trip on....guaranteed a future lawsuit will eventually happen if that shit isnt fixed. Bathroom is one stall with a curtain...wtf?
-lots of douchey teenagers who are broke (but thats any 18+ club)
-they take $5 out of each $20 dance...so only $15 per dance? F that, I charged 25

Club Rouge:

Pros:
-clean, classy club. feels nice just walking in
-hardly any $$ of your dances are taken out. No $$ out of single dances, $10 for 3 for 100 and only $25 for VIP
-set your own contact levels
-downtown/constant customers
-chill about being late
-amazing staff and girls all around. almost all girls are close and are friends even though its such a huge club, never seen anything like it really

Cons:
-very hot, highly competitive hustlers. Probably on par with the hotness and hustle-yness of Casa Diablo
-Bad for minors. They're almost always complaining about not making much
-VIPs are not very expensive. Half hour is great you get $250 but an hour you get less than $400 total....whereas other clubs have rooms you can make up to $5-700 at a time
-poles dont spin
-VIP is not private at all. You have to mislead customers a bit for them to buy it usually (not lie, just imply its more private than it is)
-This is the one con that turned me off from this club, otherwise it would be my fave: WAY too many girls are scheduled at once!!! There are nights with 6 customers and 50 girls. Unless you're in the hottest few or are a very aggressive hustler good luck snagging them before someone else does

Hello!

3 reviews for ya:

Gold Club (Milwaukie, 15-20 min south of Portland)
Very reasonable house fees: $20 on weekend nights, $10 minimum to DJ. $5 taken out per dance AFTER 3 couch dances. VIP booths have curtains that afford some privacy, but the DJ WILL make rounds sometimes and poke his head in to make sure nothing illegal is going on. $40 with $5 to house, or 3 for $100 with $25 going to house. 30 minute VIP for $300, $75 to house. 1 hour VIP is $600 with $150 to house. The 3 for 100s are pretty easy to sell. Two main stages with spinning pole, and a 3rd stage with (VERY UNSTABLE!!!) non-spinning pole for minors to dance on. Most of the girls were fairly nice, a couple bat-shit crazies, and most just keep to themselves. Outside deck for smoking. Pool tables and those annoying video poker games. No pressure or incentive to sell any drinks. Stage tips very inconsistent; this is NOT a stage-money club, so you better be able to hustle. Weekend crowd very inconsistent. I made $500 one Friday, and the next one made $30. I finally left due to the inconsistency. This is scheduled/staffed by Steve or Greg (same as club 205; pretty sure it's Rockstar...), so you will have to deal with all that B.S. including staffing WAY TOO MANY GIRLS.

Acropolis:
So far have only done a Saturday lunch shift and a Thursday mid shift. Came home with $250 in 100% stage money for each 5 hour shift. I imagine weekend closing shifts are much better. Didn't have to hustle for dances, BUT depending on staffing, you might be on stage for 40 minutes out of each hour. Stage rotations are in 20 minute intervals, and if someone calls out sick, you might have to go straight from main stage to second stage before you get a break. Only a few young stupid groups who tipped very poorly. Everyone else knows how the fuck it works, and the dollars keep flowing. $10 stage fee for a lunch shift, $17 for a 4-9 shift, and $40 for the weekend closing shifts. People will be eating their steaks right on your tip rail, so it kind of limits the moves you can do up close and personal from the rail. Stages are pit-style, and there are 4, but I have only seen 3 used at a time. All are spinning poles. Dressing room is up some killer stairs, but there is at least a rooftop deck for smoking. Bring your pole game; this is a stage-heavy, no-hustle club. You can sell couch dances for $20 in a very non-private dance area, but in two shifts I haven't seen anyone back there. MUSIC: bring your own on your phone. VERY annoying that there is no DJ except for Thurs-Fri-Sat after 9pm. The rest of the time, girls phones are cutting out, texts coming through, pandora commercials are coming on. If you are on main stage, you pick the music and if your phone malfunctions it fucks with your money AND the girls on the other stages. Pay the $5 a month for commercial-free pandora!! Jeez. It is the main drawback and reason I might leave this club.

Club Heat:
Was only here one night. Stage tipping was abysmal to non-existant, and the "crowd" was mostly bored locals playing video poker or pool, or watching sports with backs to the stage. I am not a great hustler but I didn't sell a single dance. There was a main stage, a cage, and a small spinning hoop like at 205. Staffing agency suuucks... Steve is a dick and if you stand up for yourself and call him out, you won't get scheduled anymore. I left with very little money and did not feel safe there. Too bad. I really miss that spinning ring :) I don't remember stage fees but they were reasonable. Not going back.

I will check back in soon! Hoping to try Sassy's, Lucky Devil, and if I feel brave maybe Casa Diablo at some point.

This thread is so informative! I'll be visiting Portland later this week and was wondering if anyone can recommend any topless, low-hustle stage clubs that I can test out while I'm there. I'll be doing my own research and re-reading your reviews, but from some of the descriptions they aren't all that clear which are nude and which aren't. Not a dealbreaker if they are nude, but topless is my preference. :) I'm also thin, muscular, and lacking in ink.

All clubs in Portland are nude with the exception of spyce.

Also, a note on Spyce. I myself, have never worked there (only visited as a customer) but I know many dancers who bounce between my club and Spyce. There is rumor that Spyce will hold money for card transactions for a week... but will conveniently forget to hand you your check :/. This along with other complaints regarding management and drug use have kept me from working there. If you do, I advise you strongly push your customers to spend cash, not card... or set up your own card transactions using your phone if that's something you're comfortable with.

Ok so boom boom room...
The ad says to text your pic and they'll tell you when to audition. So i did and they were like ok any time before 10pm. I go in on a tuesday a week later at like 1:30 and they said well you have to wait for the DJ when he gets there at 8:30pm.
i get there at 8:30 and i am once again told to come back later at 9:30. Ok whatever, i drive down the street to the club Lure to check it out and wow it was sketch don't do it. I left there quickly and got back to Boom Boom at 9 and they were like hey the DJ's here now go talk to him
i go over and talk to this motherfucker and he barely glances over and says they dont do auditions past 9pm. Wtf after i waited on your ass all day?? And i looked cute AF mind you.

So yeah... super rude DJ and it was dead as hell. Even though it was a tuesday my home club wouldve still been busier than that...

Hey, I noticed a few of you ladies mentioned Rockstar. What are their clubs like and why don't people seem to like them?

They book a few really good clubs and a bunch of dive bars with very low earning potential. I've heard that they can be difficult to deal with. I don't like working with agencies, so I've never tried them personally. If you are used to picking your own schedule/club you may want to skip Rockstar.

I'm looking for more updated info on a few clubs, UJ and cabs, still good day shift money there? Also I heard sassys and Acropolis? Does anyone have any info for a baby stripper with pole game?

@diosamuxer try club Rouge! I'll be there this weekend. I'll message you! It's amazing, fantastic earning potential.

Can't agree more with Rouge, and the minors complaining about the money... Like bitch you could be out hustling, but instead you're sitting in the dressing room stuffing your face with mozzarella sticks wasting your breath complaining. All the more for me to go out there and pick up their slack!!

Loved this post btw!!! :D

I was in Portland last summer and worked a bunch of spots in the city and also in the "burbs." I would suggest golden dragon for minors. My best friend worked there while I was over at Spyce and was banking an easy 500+ per night shift there. The only con in my opinion about any of the clubs downtown are the broke ass kids that come in and waste space but that's usually how it goes in any big city

Do you know how strict Portland is for licensing? I dance in vancouver, Canada, but wanted to pop down a few times this summer. Any suggestions? (Ive been in Australia the last couple years and totally out of the loop)

You don't need a license to dance in Portland.

Any suggestions for someone that has more a hippie girl, beachy kinda look? I have dreadlocks and am tan, I pretty much look like an island girl. Been looking into dancing for years, and I think I want to finally take the leap. I'd also really like to incorporate my belly dancing skills into this, are there clubs that allow for more creative dancing?

lolalolita

^ I work with a girl at Casa Diablo who sounds just like that. Not sure about the belly dancing on a night shift at least- the crowd tends to be pretty wild and more high energy.
I've seen girls with dreads at Playpen, Safari, and Boom Boom Room tho.

Thought I'd give some updates for Casa since stuff has changed
-No required lap dance for Johnny. I've never even seen him. The one who manages now is an older asian lady who I think co-owns it with Johnny.
-Instead all I had to do was fill out a w9 form and then dance on stage (along with 6 other girls who auditioned the same day with me woah).
-No "fines". Seems they got in trouble for this. They still charge you for some stuff (leaving early, filling out schedule request too late) but they try to avoid the term "fine" lol.
-Single lap dances are now $50. I think they only take 20% of it if you are working a morning or mid shift? Think it's 30% at night but idk. There is still the 3 for $100 deal.
-Yes you must let customers touch you, but also you have to keep your bottoms on. Only in the champagne room can you take them off. Also you are allowed to use dildos in dances as long as you are not touching the customer (there is a second chair at each lap dance station).
-Friday and Saturday night shifts have like 30 girls, and they're all stunning and amazing on the pole.
-They def hire curvy girls but it can be... hard to compete. Also I wont be getting any night shifts anytime soon.
-Staff is great and so friendly/helpful/professional.
-$2 bills rock but are incriminating when you try to pay with them anywhere hahaha.

Can confirm it's 30% of dances on mid and night shifts, along with all shifts at Dusk 'Till Dawn (sister club, most dancers end up working at least a couple shifts over there).

(Also, welcome to Casa!)

Thanks for the updates ladies! I'm planning on dancing in Portland after my surgery next week when I recover. I just can't decide where I want to start out. I've never stripped before but I know how to pole and have done performances for a variety burlesque show. I'm 32 and a little nervous because I've become pretty much antisocial lol! But I know after the newness nerves wear off I'll be my bubbly self. Hopefully lol. I'm thinking about UJ, CD, and maybe some others at first to get my feet wet so to speak. Will CD and UJ consider hiring a new dancer who is my age? I don't have tits yet (decent A cup) but plan on it after I make some money. I'm 5' 4" and about 125-130 lbs and am working on slimming up more. I'm proportionate though. Any good places to start?

Also I'm coming down from Seattle to dance if that makes a difference.

CD hires new dancers, but it's tough to get on night shift--gotta put in time for a couple months before they'll even consider it. We are really, REALLY short day/mid dancers right now so I guarantee they'll at least hire you for those shifts based on your stats. It's a pretty hustly club, and it can be a rough learning curve for newbs, but give it a shot!

By the way, Portland is still pretty damn dead right now from what I'm seeing.

So I had my first shift at Dusk Till Dawn today (they ask you work there at least once a week) and it was pretty horrible tbh. I can't believe they let all that natural lighting come in from the big windows, and it just so obviously feels like an old Wendy's.
But seriously, I felt like there was just a big spotlight highlighting all of my stretchmarks and flaws.
I don't think my coochie has seen that much sunlight since I was 2 years old.
The dressing room is a non A/C trailer outside.

Also it was dead af.

Hey ladies! Long time lurker finally going through with my dancing career that I've thought about for years! I moved to Portland today from Canada primarily to dance. I have dual citizenship through my mom and I have a social security number however no American ID or Passport (both Canadian). I went to union jacks to audition tonight after my 22 hour train journey, and an hour and a half of getting ready (lol) I show up and they ask for my ID and I give them my drivers license, but the bouncer tells me I need my passport, more specifically an American passport in order to work. I feel so defeated and foolish for not thinking of this! I thought I would be fine with just having a SSN- can anyone think of any solutions??! I don't have a place to stay tomorrow (yet) and am wondering if all the clubs here (and in the US for that matter) will be the same. Maybe having an 'in' at a club and being able to explain my situation to a manager will get me further than dealing with bouncers? Love to all of you!

Just try a different club. There are like 30 clubs in portland and trust me, not all of them care if your passport is canadian

I'm thinking about moving to Portland. I know this sounds stupid, but how exactly do you audition for any club in Portland? Which ones will be good for an out of state newbie to get in? What should i wear and what shops sell used or cheap stripper shoes?

Most clubs you just go in and ask for an audition. I always call ahead of time to ask if they're "still hiring dancers" but that's more defense for me because of my weight (a lot of clubs back in my home state would reject me outright because of it, I found calling ahead works wonders). Make sure your hair and makeup are done nicely, wear something flattering, and have everything with you on the spot.

Clubs I can't help much, my home club is the first and only one I auditioned at. You can check out the club reviews and browse this thread a bit more to get an idea of what each club's vibe is like. Since it's summer you'll likely be stuck on day shift :(

Just wear a matching bra set that you feel sexy in. If you want to wear something more "strippery" you can go to a sex shop and buy one there. They can be a bit expensive, but you can buy Rene Rofe/Dreamgirl/Seven Til Midnight box sets for relatively cheap (run about $12-25 depending). Don't buy shoes used! The sole forms to your foot and used ones will not feel nearly as comfortable because of it. There is a pleasers shoe that runs about $45: it's all black, comes with a strap, 7in. They have the same style in clear and I think it runs about the same amount. If you can't do that, just wear the comfiest heels you have until you can afford new shoes.

Thanks for the advice. I've spent a few hours reading up I clubs here. The General consensus for this town is that it seems laid back.

You must let customers touch you?? What the fuck???? There is no way that is legal, even if the club permits touching , nobody can touch you without your consent, and the club CANNOT force you to expand your boundaries. This is fucked, I cannot believe this place has not been sued yet.

^^^the law in Portland, actually, is that you're 3 feet from the customer. How though, do you work as a stripper without customers touching you....per your comment, it seems that you are outraged at the thought of someone touching you??? How do you do this job and make any money while not allowing customers to touch you....

I've heard that used to be the case, but believe me, those days are over. There are a lot of clubs in Portland and I haven't been to all of them, but every club I've been to or worked at has been one-way-contact at very least.

Re: 'must let customers touch you'--I suspect Athenathefabulous is correct that it's illegal to force independent contractors to allow that (or much of anything). My personal feelings on the subject are that if I wasn't OK with two-way-contact, I'd move clubs and that'd be the end of it. I like working at Casa but it ain't for everybody and someday I may reach my personal limit and GTFO to a lower-contact club.

It wouldn't shock me if someone brought suit on the subject someday, it definitely would NOT be Casa's first lawsuit.

I would never work at a club where the rule was you had to let customers touch you. Its my choice, not the clubs, since its my body. The club shouldnt be telling me what to do beyond when to go on stage, to pay house fee, and not to break the rules.

I have a solid hustle. If customers want to touch , they will pay more. Its harder to sell repeat dances with my rules but easier to upsell VIP. so it all balances out and i dont feel like i work in a petting zoo. I win in the end.

Well a single lapdance is $50 so I guess that's kinda like up-selling a dance... without ever having the chance to sell the cheaper option lol.
But then they take 30% of that so yeah I really don't know how I'm feeling about it... (no stage fee hanging over my head which is nice though)

Are there any gown clubs in Portland? Or anywhere in Oregon? I don't think there are, but I would like to know for sure. If not, what are the highest end clubs (or clubs with the most middle-aged businessman type clientele) in Portland and the surrounding area?

The 3 clubs I work at are either 45 you keep 40, 40 you keep 30, or 30 you keep 25. The ones where dancers are 40 and 30 are now being very strict about customers not touching your boobs butt or pussy (NOLA clubs are under fire right now). But either way, i feel like a customer paying x amount of $ for a dance is paying that much for a song of you entertaining them as you see fit, it doesnt entitle them to shit other than that. Ive worked in high contact cities, and the times over hte years i have made concessions with contact, i.e. let a customer grab my boobs during lap dances, i felt like shit afterwards, it rarely paid off, and it fucked with my head.

Its up to the girl (within club boundaries), if its the club norm for girls to let guys grope during dances, im not hating although i think everyone would do better if everyone decided that 30 or 50$ wasnt enough for that, but i dont hate, but I have NEVER had a club tell me i wasnt doing enough for a customers money. I ALWAYS get money up front, and if a customer doesnt like it, hes not going to get it back. One time i even had a customer complain to the staff that i wouldnt allow x and he wanted a refund, and they just laughed at him and told him they dont do refunds.

So I finally went for it and auditioned at Nicolai Street Clubhouse. Chose it for a number of reasons, but mainly because I wanted a day shift midweek and I've heard it's good for girls start out at. They are managed through RIP City booking, all I had to do was text a picture of myself, and they actually just wanted me to start right away. Clientele is a lot of blue collar guys just getting off work since its in a very industrial area. I was only they from about 7-10, which isn't a standard shift, but after dancing a set, was asked to stay for a bit. Only 2 other girls working at the same time. There is 1 Stage with a spinning pole and then 2 rooms for private dances with cameras. No stage fee but they do take about 20% for private dances. You set your own price for those. I was asked right away for a private dance, but hadnt really gotten the rundown on everything yet, but I charged $30 per dance, sold 2 to the same guy, so got 49 out of $60. I found out later that most of the girls charge 25, so I think I may adjust accordingly. There is a system you punch into for private dances, I don't quite understand it but you punch in before the dance and I guess it keeps track of minutes. Bathroom is the same as the locker room, so you may see female customers in there. I haven't auditioned anywhere else so I can't really compare it to other clubs. Overall vibe is chill and laid back.
