What clubs usually set 30 or more per song as standard? Every club (besides casa) has always been 20.
I mean obvsly yes I can set my own price, but you know what I mean.

I had only planned on auditioning and was taken aback when I was asked for a private dance. No one went over numbers with me so I just threw 30 out and was kinda surprised when he said ok. Afterwards, I found out that the other girls do 25 per song, so I will probably drop it down to that. I'm still learning lol

Don't lower your prices "just bc" everyone else is doing it, otherwise these guys will think you're not as special. When I danced I always overcharged them bc I knew I was worth it & after paying house fees, djs, etc you're actually left with something. If they say "oh well Cyndi only charges me $25 then say well I'm not Cyndi and my shows are hot & amazing. Don't let them bargain with you, you're not a flea market.

Is it still slow season for Portland? Or would anyone say it's safe to try and audition and there'll be more than $11 on a Friday :/ Club Rouge didn't work out for me so I'm trying Golden Dragon in a few weeks, is there still good money there? I'll finally be 21 so if anyone else has any different recommendation I'd love to hear it!

Holy cow girl, $11 on a Friday? So shitty! =( I too have thought about checking out Golden Dragon but have heard about the whole jack shack thing. I'm more interested in a club that has flexible scheduling where I can just leave if I've already met my goal, or if I'm needing to pay extra bills, just walk in and work for a bit.

Also, can someone go over the updated rules and regulations as far as what you can do onstage or custie contact? No one has really gone over any of it with me. I'm aware that every club varies greatly. I'm fairly new, but I don't want to risk getting fined. Or is it the club that would get fined? Also, if someone gives me their business card so I can email them my schedule acceptable, or could that be mistaken as intent to prostitute? I tried looking up all this stuff before, but can't seem to find anything on this.

^Really, that's something that's constantly changing IME. Contact levels seem to change with the seasons (slow times result in higher contact), which security guys are working, which DJ is working, which girls are working, how desperate the club is for money and girls, etc. Every club I've worked in has cycled over time. Club starts out as low-contact, gradually gets raunchier and goes downhill, I move to a new club, rinse and repeat. Shrugs. :/

Are there any dress codes in Portland?

charlie61
12-19-2016, 01:45 PM
^ Every club is different. However, you'll find more casual dress codes and less strict tattoo policies here than in many other major cities, IME. As with any city, here, it will benefit you to dress a bit more nicely (professional materials instead of Walmart-quality materials) and have fewer tattoos, longer hair, etc. No matter the city, you will (*generally*) make more money more easily by having a more mainstream look and by upping your class level in appearance, outfit, how you speak, etc. Plenty of threads on that topic around here.. :)

If i weren't on mobile, I'd find some for you!

Someone correct me if I am wrong, my limited experience dancing in Portland and my more extensive experience as a customer... Unless u do impressive or shocking stage shows at certain clubs or you have hella regulars anywhere I think it is hard to make "stripper money" here...

Honestly if you can get a half decent job ie more than minimum wage or go on webcam I'd say it blows stripping in pdx out of the water for *most* girls. If you want to keep stripping I'd try to live somewhere other than the west coast.. unless you like to travel for work....

Edit: I wasnt smoking weed there and only had 1 drink. I didn't spend a lot of time in the dressing room either and I was hustling dances. Almost everyone I was hustling was apparently some other girl's regular and didn't have any interest, they were just hanging out, they wanted heavy contact dances I didn't want to do, or they straight wanted extras.

charlie61
12-24-2016, 10:49 PM
^ That's what i was afraid of, but i have zero pole skills, am not regular-based, have a girl-next-door look, and did very well here, consistently. I steered away from clubs that are known to be stage-heavy (e.g. Acrop). I've only worked in one club (a pretty low-key mid tier) so far. But i can't imagine i found the only club in pdx with money for decent hustlers (and I'm not talking about CD).

I almost didn't even attempt dancing here because i was so discouraged by the reports on SW about this region. But as a tattoo-free white brunette with an athletic build, small breasts, and decent hustle skills, i did better here than I've ever done anywhere else in the country (including the Midwest and Southwest). No contest. The clubs here compete with each other for dancers, so they also tend to structure pricing and rules more sanely, IME.

Of course, as with any dancer's experience, take mine with a grain of salt. Everyone will have different experiences based on a huge variety of factors. And dancing is not easy money, of course, so it does take effort. People have high expectations of pdx after it gained a bit of a reputation as a super low-contact city where you could dance with a mohawk and a body covered in tattoos and still bank on stage. I'm sure some can get away with that. I'd say it has changed quite a bit since gaining that reputation. But is there money here to be made in dancing? Absolutely. Especially for women who spend their nights hustling instead of smoking pot and doing shots in the dressing room for half the night.. :-D

I've been at a club in PDX for the last few weeks. Money for me isn't so great because I don't allow customers to touch me during dancers. I don't judge what other dancers do but every single girl I saw was getting groped for 20 bucks in the common lap dance area. I am seriously contemplating traveling back to my old club on weekends because I'm not making anything close to what I used to. Am I totally screwed in finding a non 20 dollar grabbing club? By the way, I am not looking to offend anyone. I've done my share of dirty dances amongst other things but times have changed and it's not for me. Thanks in advance.

Luxx78, Lucky Devil and Devils Point both allow ZERO touching, though you may touch their shoulders, gently brush against them for a moment etc. You will get talked to by other dancers for anything more than that. Stage money is just okay. Money is inconsistent, but you will not be getting groped. You will also likely not get night shift for several months to a year, but mid can be okay.

Does anyone have any updated information on Club 205?

Adrienne7
01-06-2017, 01:17 PM
Kawaiidoll, only that the booking manager Steve is such a raging asshole that many dancers refuse to work with him, myself included. Also they will let you audition at 205 and then try to schedule you at Heat, where I did one shift and never went back. I called Steve out for being a disrespectful prick and hence never got scheduled at 205 :D oops!

Thanks for the info Adrienne! I worked at 205 last night and I'm not sure I really liked it. You have to go on stage sooo often! I'm going to give it one more shot tonight and maybe a shot at a day shift, but it doesn't seem promising so far.

I've been wanting to start dancing for a good minute now, but as someone who isn't a fantastic dancer and has absolutely zero pole skills, I've been intimidated about starting. Does anyone have any recommendations for places to start out at to gain a bit of chops? Does it even matter?? I mean, I can sway to music and walk in heels all perfectly well, but I think I'll be more inclined to hustle on the floor than making money on stage.

Any advice would be awesome, or even reassurance that I need to just take the plunge and stop being a chicken and go audition somewhere!

Asking because most of what I see about Portland clubs is from 3 or more years ago.

Yeah I agree with Luxx... I liked Lucky Devil, and I saw a couple ladies start brand new. It is a chill, laid back vibe and you will probably start on day or mid shift, so money can be up and down, but it's a great place to get comfortable with the whole idea. It doesn't matter a ton, but if I were new again I would personally avoid the huge high hustle clubs at first, just because I don't like stress :D I am talking about Casa, Stars... Lucky devil you can be sweet and awkward and no one fucking cares and/or finds it endearing. Maybe also Acropolis or Union Jacks day or mid shift to start out. Doooo iiiiit!! :D :D :D

I worked at Beaverton Stars for 3 years before the recession and it was SO AWESOME. I live in Seattle and I've been wanting to make a strip trip! Any info on Acrop, or Rouge? Idk what the next step down, or up, is from Stars. Ty!

I don't think acrop is friendly to traveling dancers. I worked at both rouge and spyce and found the money to be easier and better at spyce. That being said Spyce has a mandatory tipping thing rather than a house fee and I find that annoying. If you decide to make a trip, let me know!

One of my friends drives to Portland to work at Rouge a couple times a month. She said she makes consistent money there, that it's worth the drive. She an aggressive hustler, petite, artificial Barbie type look. I haven't worked there in a few years but unless it's changed it's a similar tier as the Stars chain.

Anyone else can tell me more about Spyce? I am auditioning tomorrow! I worked at.Rouge and it was good money in the day because I made a regular business man and he liked me a lot so he always tipped a couple hundred. But the girls were kinda mean and management said I could only work days when I know I can do night shifts -_-

SO spyce is is topless only? Kinda looking forward to that! I don't mind being touched in dances but it depends where of course! What is the stage fee? And do you get to pick your own schedule? How is management? I'd love to hear more. Thanks ladies!

Luxx78
02-15-2017, 11:54 PM
No stage fee. 5 to each bouncer, 10 to dj, and tip out vip hostess 10% after everyday dance. Spyce takes a lot of money out of your dances and tipping 10% every time is frustrating. If anyone pays with a credit card take a picture of your payout sheet

Can anyone tell me how money much casa takes out of dances?

paigevixen
02-24-2017, 12:58 PM
Casa takes 20% for day shift and 30% for night shift, but you get the day shift rate of pay out if you work a double or triple starting with a day shift.

Basically if you work morning + mid, you pay 20%, but if you work morning + night you pay 20% in morning and 30% at night.

The thing I read most in pdx conversions here is "skinny" and "barbie" ( with the exceptions of union jacks, and the "punk/metal" ones, although most of those babes are tiny too) , & a friend who strip tripped through the pnw said she felt like an "old fat slob" here even though she is like 5"9 130lb and does a bunch of crazy pole tricks.. are there any clubs more likely to hire bigger girls in Portland? I'm interested in trying it out here to supplement camming, get out of the house, etc but I can't afford to peek into every friggin club in pdx looking for some jiggle. I refuse to be a cheap customer at a club before I ask for a job.

Luxx78

Are you looking to work nights or days? Most any club will hire a volumptous woman for day shit but getting on nights may be harder. Also, in your experience(s), what is the best club for dayshift?? I'm really getting burnt on nights and would like to work days for a few weeks.

I'm currently dancing in Southern California. Thinking about dancing in Portland when I visit. Are there any clubs that are cool with drop in dancers? I travel to Portland occasionally. Am a fairly strong pole dancer. My look is sort of tattoo'd Barbie...blonde hair.

If you are traveling Spyce, Casa or Rouge would be your best options. Avoid dv8 and rose city strip, still confused why these clubs are recommended. Maybe stars Bridgeport too? Good luck!

I've danced at Casa once before and wouldn't reccomend it. Very out of the way and hard to get custys in there. I only walked away with $200 after schmoozing customers all night and being one of the more athletic dancers onstage.

Whats the deal with Union Jacks?? is it really haunted? I had a dancer tell me the owners are super slimy and that I should stay away from there.. is this true? I was gonna try it but I don't want to put myself in a bad situation :(

Honestly, I can't think of a club I've worked at where management was perfect. I've never worked at a place where management treated dancers like shit, I don't think they would stay open for long. Maybe their defention of 'super slimy' meant drugs, money laundering, prostitution etc... that stuff doesn't bother me because it isn't my problem. I would check it out and see for yourself. I have heard good things about union jacks but haven't worked there myself.

I worked at Union Jacks once for a few days while traveling in the area. I wrote a review in the club revies section about my experience. I did get fired & told not to come back when I could not pay my house fee one reeaaally slow night due to being stranded up there & I needed that money to get back home. It's a cool spot for a few nights but it's regulars/locals ridden & they feel entitled & don't like to pay for dances really. I made my money off travelers.

Applies to just about every Portland club. They're mostly just holes in the wall with a pole in the corner and full (actually I mean empty lol) of entitled bar regulars who think this is Cheers and they don't have to tip or buy dances. The trick is to work at one of the ones that attracts tourists and make money off of them I think haha. Those being UJ's, Casa Diablo, Lucky Devil/Devil's Point, and Acrop I'd say...
I don't know what downtown or west-side clubs are like though.

Speaking of places who "think this is cheers" why is Shimmers always posting online? Why do they have such intense backhanded adds I.E. "CLEAN dancers who WILL NOT LET CUSTOMERS MOLEST THEM" yikes red flag I've text the manger a few times over the past year or so on the less ..descriptive adds, only to find, once again, it's shimmers. Anyone ever worked/been there? I am clean, and do my best not to be molested-but they should have to say that..right?

I worked at Dusk Til Dawn, Casa Diablo, and Xpose while I lived up there. Dusk is too slow unless you're a new dancer or under 21, go for Casa instead. Xpose in Beaverton was pretty nice. Kind and helpful girls but I barely made any money as a new dancer. Other girls were making bank so I think it was just me.

Hey ladies...any updates on clubs in Portland? I’ve been visiting a lot of them to get a feel for a place I might like—there’s a bunch I felt comfortable at. However to start I kind of want to be away from the more central part of Portland, lest I am recognized by anyone I know from my “normal” life.

I was actually surprised that I really liked hanging out at Mystic, the staff was super nice, the two girls I talked to there were also— one in particular seemed to really like working there and emphasized that it’s clean, but I don’t know. I’m kind of uneasy about the number of shootings that have happened there. I liked 205 right over there ok also but not sure I’d fit the vibe.

Any other clubs that far outside of the “core” of Portland worth considering?

Thank you <3

Just avoid Scarlet's night shift and you'll be fine. Days and mids are where the money is at. Stage fee is like $15-17, audition and schedule through Skittles who is... nice half the time. They just bought Grind though so they may make you work some days there and that club is deeeeaaaad.

I'm at shimmers right now and everyone is really nice and isn't near as sketch at night I feel. Maybe the lone tweaker or two but whatev. Stage fee is also $15, I think auditions are anytime.
Both clubs will hire about anyone, shimmers even more so.

Thank you so much for the info. I've def been leaning towards shimmers, it seems safer. I need somewhere that will hire anyone because I'm super out of shape right now and definitely not up to most Portland clubs standards.
